Two Tides Bar inside Whole Foods is known for having the $1 oyster deal on Fridays. It might actually be $1.25 now, but I'm not sure because we never actually got the oysters we ordered. Of course, the bar is bustling as usual after work on a Friday, but they were so understaffed that it took extremely long at every point in the meal. We ordered 2 beers, truffle fries, and a dozen oysters. The drinks and fries arrived pretty quickly. To their credit, the truffle fries are cheap, yummy, and come with fancy ketchup. I was expecting a longer wait for the oysters since it took a while for the table next to us to receive theirs. But after around 30 more minutes, we asked the server to check on them and he came back saying: "I forgot to put the order in. I'll take them off the tab but it'll take another 20 minutes to come out." At that point we just decided to pay for what we ordered and leave :( It also took long for the check to come out. On the bright side, the seafood counter inside Whole Foods offers the deal of $1.25/oyster on Fridays. We ended up just doing that. They shuck them for you too! read more

The smaller sweet best tasting ones were so small, still in infancy and barely a thin membrane. The larger yielded a scant maybe a 1/2 tsp of oyster substance which are barely a bite or much less a swallow. None had "juices", aka liquor. An hour in, this uncle from across the bar approaches us and says his cousin follows my friend on social media and would like to take a photo. Friendly interaction. For context, my friend has a sizable following for her art. The "cousin" makes his way over and I take a photo of the three of them. Pau. Around 6:15pm we're ready to leave. As we are signing our checks, uncle comes up to us again and tells us they're buying us drinks and we're taking another photo, this time all together. The interaction is way more demanding this time. First red flag. I tell him we're leaving and this inebriated faka randomly asks me if I'm pake (Chinese). Second red flag. I correct him and say I'm Filipino and reiterate, once again, we're LEAVING. This guy yells, "So what? I'm 20-80, Hawaiian Filipino, fuck you!!", and hobbles back over to his seat. I'm done. The patrons beside us hear everything and make sure we're ok. I grab my friend and we attempt to leave. This person, runs over, BLOCKS THE EXIT AND GRABS my friend's wrists. I make a scene and yell for him to let go of her. I have to physically pull him off. He runs back to his seat and calls me trash. A portion of the restaurant can see what is happening. I'm speechless that an OLD MAN just feels free to gorilla grip a 5' woman. I talk to customer service to report what happened and someone named Lyle tells me he runs the store. Lyle goes to talk to this person and effectively tells us the man who harassed us is a regular because his wife works there. Another layer of embarassment. This man gets to stay. So shame. No is a complete sentence. Other people, especially women, owe you nothing. Photos, time, and energy? You are owed DUST. So please, if you're a woman and you care about your safety, avoid Two Tides. read more

The beer selection is really good at two tides! I think this place is often a forgot about spot for a solid drink and dinner. Two tides is usually packed at night (especially on a Friday) but is not so crowded at lunchtime. The drinks came out really fast even if they were packed. The food came out slower, and they forgot our tacos order so it didn't come out until later, but we weren't in a rush. The quality of food is great for a bar but I wished they had a bigger selection of food! The chicken tenders and fries are always my boyfriend and my go to--it comes with ranch and high quality ketchup LOL. The fish tacos are also fried (theres a lot of fried food on the menu) but super tasty. A group of 9 of us came here for the Friday Happy Hour - 12 for $15 oysters (that is super cheap). We had 6 dozen oyster trays with some beer. At first, we asked for a table of 6, but then when more of our friends came in, the server was able to get us a bigger table. We all felt bad for the servers because this place gets super busy and it seemed that there were only 3 of them waiting on tables. Who would think that a grocery store would have a bar, but yup...Whole Foods Honolulu has this conveniently located bar right in the store. The menu had fish and chips and just so happen the fish was MARLIN, not a big fan of Marlin but always willing to give different places a shot and trying to impress me and Two Tides Bar did not disappoint. The Marlin was succulent, moist inside and cooked just right. Good job Chef, it was ono! I also had some oysters and that along with a Lilikoi Cider hit to spot for a nice lunch. I had been craving oysters for the longest time, and since the island is very lacking in oyster establishments, when I heard about the $1 oyster Friday's, I couldn't resist. A friend and I came around 3pm since I read a review saying they could run out of oysters at 5pm. Parking: Whole Foods parking, as the bar is in Whole Foods. Service: I'm not really too sure what I would rate the service as we talked to different people. There was a lady with short blonde hair and a man with kind of long black hair. When we were seated, no one greeted us or took orders. We waited about 15 min before just getting the attention of the lady with short blonde hair after he took another table's (behind us) order. We ordered one dozen of both the available oyster choices, and one order of the truffle fries. We got the fries after a couple minutes. However, we waited about 40 min for the oysters but they still never came. In this time, the table behind us ordered oysters about 2 and got them. The same person who took our order was the one helping them. So after the 40 min, I called out to the young man with long black hair and told him we ordered oysters 40 min ago. He said he would check on them. I watched him go over to the orders and search, but not find anything, then go asking the other workers. He comes back a few minutes later asking if I knew who took our order, and I pointed at the lady. He then goes to ask her and then he comes back asking me how many oysters we ordered. And after I told him we ordered one dozen of each, he told us that only one choice was available now. So I guess the lady just didn't put our order in. We waited about an hr or more for oysters. Raw oysters. And the table behind us had gotten about 4 separate orders of oysters before we had received one. Food: the oysters on our first two dozens were very small. EXTREMELY small. The following platters were a bit larger. The oysters were shucked haphazardly, as there were little pieces of shell in multiple bites, but they are $1 so I can't complain. The truffle fries were severely under seasoned. Very bland. You would think that after forgetting to input our order and making us wait significantly longer than we should have, they'd offer a slight discount or comp the fries or something. I LOVE oyster Fridays! It can definitely be pretty packed, so I would advise to get there sooner than later. Service is good, especially considering the work load servers are put under with so many full tables. Major props to them. Special shout out to Lyle for always going the extra mile for us, really appreciate him. Oysters are yum, some smaller than anticipated but I don't mind since they're tasty. Beware small shell pieces! I forget the white wine paired here, but I asked my server for a recommendation and followed it... YUM!!! All in all, 9/10 recommend. Soooo I've been coming to Whole Foods a lot recently and noticed that two tides (the bar/restaurant on the 1st floor) offers weekend brunch until 2pm. I love a good brunch and convinced my friend to try it with me. Prices are pretty good, but don't expect anything super fancy. I ordered a breakfast bagel sandwich and my friend got a toasted bagel with tomato and cream cheese. Easy right? Lol my sandwich took about 45 minutes. I was hungry and ate it in front of my friend. Lol I offered her some. 30 minutes after I'm done with my sandwich, hers comes out. One waitress was apologetic the other two waiters didn't seem to care. I feel bad for them, it's obviously the kitchen that needs to get their act together. How hard can it be to pull things off the hot buffet and make the food they are advertising on the menu? We ordered some bloody Marys which were good. And for a $6 Bloody Mary or mimosa, it's a pretty good deal. I like the convenience of Whole Foods, the parking lot and the $6 adult beverages. Came on a Friday night to try the dollar oysters. You walk in and sit where ever you wish. Waiting for someone to take our order was the longest wait. The hospitality was great though. The waiters were very laid back and checked on us through out our time there. It wasn't loud and it's pretty child friendly. We ordered 2 dozen of the "bigger" oysters that they offer. They were delicious! It was sweet, fresh and tasted clean. We also tried the buffalo wings and Texas bbq wings. We thought they needed more sauce, it was a little dry on the sauce side. It came with carrot sticks and celery and ranch dipping sauce. For the amount of wings we got, it was worth the price. I just wish the ranch dip was more creamier, it was more like a Ceaser/ranch dressing. We ordered the truffle fries for $4, which was a decent amount for the price and they were delicious as well. Located on the 2nd floor of Whole Foods Market is Two Tides Bar. Tucked on the south side of the 2nd floor you'll find a bunch of high top tables and about 12 seats around the bar. It's a great place to sit, relax and eat a meal or snack purchased from the market downstairs. They do have a limited food menu with bar appetizer type items. In addition to the many beer and ale on tap that changes periodically, they have about a dozen varietals of wine. On this note; they sell a wine flight for $14.00. The good part of this flight is you can pick any four varietals and each pour is at least 4 oz. It's rather dark lighting considering they are located in a supermarket but maybe, that's how it supposed to be. Love their Fish & Chips, crispy on the outside, soft and juicy on the inside. We had Fish Tacos also and they were good too and I loved the finely chopped tomatoes and greens that came with them. I would have liked the shell a little more crispy but all in all we enjoyed everything including the iced tea. Prices are reasonable so we'll go back again when we're in the neighborhood. Two Tides is the bar located in Whole Foods. It's separated into two different locations. One location is on the ground floor and they serve food that you can order from the waiters. You can also bring your own food from Whole Foods if you want to eat and want some libations with your meal. Just remember you can't open alcohol that you purchased in the store. The second location is upstairs and doesn't serve food. You bring your own food or just go and have a drink. Make sure you go to the end of the bar to order and pay for your drinks. They also have live music occasionally and outdoor seating. I love to sit in that egg shaped chair and enjoy your breakfast outside. My yelp plu one friend and I popped in here for a quick lunch while I was at work one afternoon. He recommended it and has been there multiple times so off we went.... The beer selection was excellent, and was not something I expected to find in a little place like that. I have eaten downstairs at Whole Foods before, but didn't realize this restaurant existed upstairs. I was not overly impressed with the food selection, but there were some nice things on there. We got the Kalua pork nachos and Brussel sprouts. The brussels sprouts were soggy and just nothing exciting. I would not order them again. The nachos were nothing amazing, but decent. I would probably order them again. There was lots of meat on the nachos, and they were very well dressed. Actually, now that I think about it, we got them on tater tots and not nacho chips. Who doesn't love tater tot's?!I think if they had a better food selection, including some of the stuff from downstairs, I would be much more excited to check them out again. As it stands, I would go back for the beer, but probably not for the food. Parking in the garage is easy and free, so that is always a great perk. Service is just okay, not to personable for being a "bar," they just seem to serve you and move on not to much interaction which might not be a bad thing for some. They have a brunch menu which is interesting, and you can bring items from the store as well. They have a pretty decent wine and beer menu. Who doesn't love to shop and drink? Love the Two Tides bar located on the second level of Whole Foods Market in kakaako. There's ample seating with wine and beer on tap starting at $8 per glass. The very cool thing is that you can bring food items purchased downstairs and consume them at the bar upstairs. If you are lucky, you can score one of the four swinging hammock chairs on the Lanai. Otherwise there are a few comfy sofas and chairs also on the Lanai or ample seating inside with air conditioning and big TVs. The only drawback is that you must pick up your drinks at the bar and find your own seating. There are no servers to check on you. Because it's a part of Whole Foods Market, there are several floors of free parking with new space available lights in the garage. Just look up when driving around and look for a green light that will show you to an available stall. Definitely worth checking out! read more

We went here for 3 Fridays in a row. The $1 Oysters was so worth it! Its unlimited until they run out but we never experience that yet. You do have to order by a dozen. The first two Fridays we went they have Kumamoto and blue points. The last Friday they don't have Kumamoto but they have bone river. I can't get enough of the Cauliflower Nachos. It's so good. Tried their pub burger $14.00 and fish and chips $13.00. Both came with fries. Burger was okay, made to order (medium). The fish was a little over fried, too dark and crust was hard. Fries were the item that was the star. Based on this experience, I'm not sure I'd get food from the bar again. Checked out the Whole Foods prepared food and decided to have lunch there since I saw several people sitting at the tables and wanted to shop before heading home. Oops... is this section only for bar patrons? Really hard to tell. There were a couple of men at the actual bar, a few tables with a bunch of construction dressed men and business men. There are a ton of draft beer options with a good variety of local beers. I don't mess with their mix drinks but they do make them. If you don't like the food menu, you can buy food at the actual whole foods part and eat it at the bar, no problem. It can get crowded, so plan accordingly. Okay, I'm not a fan of eating out of a box, thus although the music is nice upstairs (you have to bring your box up there to eat it), I prefer Two-Tides downstairs as you'll get served on real dishes, nice. How have I not been here?? I come to Whole Foods weekly and have never thought to come here rather than doing hot bar for a meal. They serve a full menu of appetizers, sandwiches, and entrees that all sounded delicious. They have a full bar and offer craft cocktails along with beers and wines. Our bartender was super nice and helpful. We ordered the cauliflower nachos as an appetizer, which was the highlight of our meal, by far! SO GOOD! I would get them again and again.
