Friday deal - Dozen Oysters for $12 was amazing!! I was skeptical but it was really fresh and great kumamoto oysters !! We sat at the bar and someone sitting next door told us that there were $3 alcohol beverages on ice. There are few choices of beers, single serving wine and canned mixed drinks. I grabbed a $3 white wine which was perfect to go with my oysters. Sorry, I was so excited about the others and failed to take pictures. They have a limited food menu and a full bar, they have TV's playing sports, you can pick up food from wholefoods and eat in there while having a draft beer. We were off on Thursday and wanted to eat before grocery shopping. We looked around town for something light, and our daughter wanted Subway but we didn't. So we got that for her, but made it to Whole Foods without eating then were pleasantly reminded of Two Tides. Normally we eat here sometimes on a Friday evening and have fish and chips, wings or the burger, plus oysters when they have those available and a drink for me. We ordered the burger and a Greek salad and it was exactly what we had in mind. Very fresh and tasty. They also have two other salads on the menu and the size was good. First time visiting, and I was drawn in by the $1 oyster deal. Turns out, it was actually 12 for $12--not bad at all! My friend and I also ordered some fried food and chicken, all reasonably priced. The large oysters were definitely better than the medium-sized ones. Service was a bit slow, likely because there were only two waitresses and a bartender handling everything. It took a while to place our order, but overall, it wasn't a bad experience. The oysters weren't the best I've ever had, but they were far from the worst. The service here is kinda horrible and they all look like they hate their job. We had order 2 dozens oysters Ceasar salad and fish taco Foods arrives: fish and chips instead of fish taco. Its alright we not gonna make big deal about it, let it go, maybe she too busy (thought) had a few drinks, when time to get more drink, she took the glass and put it on hold for 20 mins instead of refill the drink. Ask the for the glass back and she returns the glass with the half of the warm drink ( and she said this is free) while she was busy in the first place (I guess) and not even complete to finish the work before moving to another one. Came here for happy hour on a Friday because I was craving oysters & on Fridays they are on sale for $1 each. They carry different types so you may not get the same ones each time you go but the quality is always great. The first dozen we ordered was smaller than normal but the server warned us beforehand just in case which was nice but we didn't mind. We ordered a round of drinks plus fries & wings. Also added another round of oysters because they were so fresh. It comes with cocktail sauce & lemons but you can request ponzu, shoyu & Tabasco like we did. We were planning on ordering individual meals but were too stuffed by the time we finished the apps. It's super crowded during HH but the servers do their best making sure they check on everyone. We came for the Friday Whole Foods deal of $1 oysters and didn't have high expectations. We were sat immediately even with a full restaurant which was great. Our server recommended we put our order in for the oysters as soon as we sat down because the wait was long and I'm glad that we did because it does take a lil while to get your oysters. We had a few beers and only had oysters because we planned to bar hop. They offer lemon, cocktail sauce and ponzu upon request. The calamansi ponzu was our favorite and they also had a yuzu. We loved the first two rounds of oysters but by the last two we felt the quality of the oysters were very inconsistent as we got some good ones and some bad ones. But can't really complain because the price point was a steal and we weren't expecting the best oysters ever. The atmosphere was a little chaotic but the servers seemed to be handling it well. Overall it was great and def would come back but would recommend coming earlier closer to 5pm read more

Went at about 4pm and it wasn't too busy. They had the Monday football playing and lots of tables open. Sat down with a table of 5 and were taken care of quickly by the staff. The weekday specials is such a good deal you get so many wings for 14$ AND beer. We were sad they were getting rid of the kalua nachos but tried these cauliflower ones and they were so crispy crunchy and covered in a yummy sauce! They did have a lot of things that were not available but were on the menu, but it's totally understandable! I also wish there were alittle more options during happy hour. I truly only went for the Friday- 12 oysters for $15 special. We went around 4pm and the seating was almost completely full, and we got the last seats. Service was pretty slow... like we had to waive a waiter down just to get a menu, and same thing for ordering. I felt like maybe we didn't have an assigned waiter? Bc each time it was a different person. After ordering it took about 30-40 minutes just to get the oysters. The oysters were good, but wish we got it quicker. This place is pretty hit or miss. It's a good spot in terms of convenience, since you can grab a bite, some groceries and handle your Amazon returns and not have to sweat where you're going to park because they have plenty of spots and it's free. The service is pretty awful. The bartenders can somehow ignore you as you sit at the bar right in front of them. The wait time for food and drinks is usually pretty long. Their oysters are probably the best thing on the menu when they are cheap on Fridays. Otherwise, I'd skip ordering most things. Their buffalo cauliflower bites are decent if you want to enjoy a vegan version of chicken wings (they don't taste anything like wings except for the sauce). I had the worst Caesar salad of my life here last night. All it had was romaine lettuce, terrible dressing (it was way too tangy, not creamy at all and there was no hint of anchovies) and croutons. It had no Parmesan cheese!! We asked the bartender about the cheese and he said "we ran out so it's not in the salad". After thinking about it some more, this restaurant is INSIDE a grocery store that sells all the cheese they could ever need and it's 1 grocery aisle away! Super lazy and a bad look for a restaurant. The cocktails are good depending who's making them. I think Lilly does a great job. The wines are often out of stock (how, when they are inside a store that specializes in wine?)... Overall it's a good spot if you want a drink after you shop (or before, sometimes it's more fun to drink and then shop) but not really a destination to go for a meal. read more

After dinner activity in Honolulu, Hawaii... We were actually looking for a dessert place, but we had just about been everywhere, or the places we wanted to try were too "far away" (like in Waikiki) and/or closed for the evening. We decided to check out Two Tides Bar. It is now on the Ground Level of Whole Foods - not on the second floor any longer. It's spacious, bright, clean, and air conditioned! Parking in the structure at Ward Village is free and plentiful. I entered from Queen Street and parked on the second floor which leads right into the building. Taking the escalator down, I met my friends at the entrance. We saw the sign that the kitchen had closed already, but decided to go in and look at the menu. I almost ordered a lemonade or a Real ginger ale. However, the bartender offered a sample of anything. I took her up on it and tried Beer Lab Hawaii's Mango Go Gadget. It was nice and fruity sweet! It wasn't too bitter, so, I ordered a glass! It was a fun experience and I wouldn't be surprised if we end up here again! read more

Came here for HH on a Friday around 3:30. It wasn't too busy, and we were seated right away. It was nice and cold inside, so bring a jacket just in case. We ordered right away, especially the oysters since we heard it runs out pretty quickly. The wait for the food was decent, and not too long. My daughter really loved the chicken and fries. The fries were golden and crispy. The cauliflower, idk if it was that good honestly. It was very bready and not crispy like a tempura. The sauce for that was ranch, and it didn't go well together to us. The best part of HH were the oysters! We ordered a total of 3 dozen, and man it was soooo good! The tides were low if you stop by a bit late... An evening out in Ward Village with my besties Nadine and Donna is always entertaining and special then when it's the "what's for dessert!?" time and since it was decently late I really didn't want us to go and drive further out when we do have great places nearby. Then their beer menu...four pages of Sours, Ciders, Hard Kombucha & Seltzer, Porters & Stouts, IPA, Wheat Beer, Pilsners & Lagers, Blonde & Pale Ales with detailed information on each item is nice. I'm a cider gal and actually got excited to see they had a few to offer...asking about it they don't hesitate to give you samples which does of course make it so easy to decided. There were three to try and I loved the Paradise Ciders Lei'd Back Lilikoi...Ooohhh more of a social drinker I loved how easy it was to sip it all away and it got me all Lei'd back and relaxed lol!!! Parking of course is super easy with two entrances either from Queen St and Halekauwila St both will take you up with lots of free parking. Sadly the bar has relocated and moved down to the ground floor from its original fun and hip second floor, the vibe is much more relaxed and simple as the second floor has basically converted to their Prime storage. I have yet to try their menu and have no idea what they have to offer other than what I've heard so you know I'd be back here to check them out as I did love the service here so knowledgeable and friendly...besides if there's a dessert wine...I got my dessert beer...right!? Very nice place to meet friends for pupus and beverages. Our cousin's were the one who suggested coming here. It turned out to be a good suggestion. They have a nice selection of pupus and meals so you can almost certainly find something you'd like. Their location / building has lots of parking available. Service e was also pretty good but not the usual. Our section had two servers working the tables. Different cause you're not sure who's yours but it in a way didn't matter. You've got two. Bad side was they were out of a couple of beers we wanted to had to settle for 2nd or 3rd choice. Als ordered oyster sliders. Unfortunately they were very small and not a lot of flavor but they were a little pricey. Definitely won't order them again. The spouse and I had about an hour to kill in between shopping and dinner, so what better activity to do than enjoy a cocktail? After having unremarkable drinks the last two times at Mai Tai's in Ala Moana, I was determined to find another watering hole. I thought about Eleven and The Bar inside Foodland Farms Ala Moana, but also thought about the horrible parking lot that surrounds it. Bing! Let's try the bar inside Whole Foods, Two Tides! ATMOSPHERE: The bar or bars are located inside Whole Foods, one on the first level, the other upstairs, though the upstairs one is never operating. Signage in the lower bar advertised a "Low Tide" bar but the menu stated "Two Tides". WTH is going on? Eh, who cares. Just get me a drank! Seating is a mix of bar, high and low tops. There is an outdoor lanai but alcohol isn't allowed there, nor is it part of the bar(s). TV's and people-watching provide other types of entertainment. Crowds were minimal at 4 in the afternoon on a Saturday. MENU: Bar-style apps, meat/veggie burgers, fish & chips, salad, chicken strips. Wine & sparkling wine. And no, you cannot buy alcohol from the store and consume it here. BEVERAGE: Presto Sparkling Rosé - $8.00 Damn, this was delish! Imported from Italy, this sparkling wine in a can tasted like it came out of a bottle. I'm not a big rosé fan but this was a perfectly balanced sweet and tart product. SERVICE: The first gentleman that assisted us was friendly, knowledgeable and patient. Not sure if he went on break or left for the day but he was no where to be found when it came time to leave. Love the texture as well. Perfect! * $1 oyster - didn't expect too much but to my surprise it was really good. Fresh and no after taste at all. A bar inside Wholefoods? Sign me in! Went here Friday coz I am curious about the $1 oyster which is too good to be true. So I'd say time to check-in for myself and see what's the hype about... No queue when we came here but you gotta wait for the hostess to help you seated. Took us less than a minute - perfect! Immediately seated at the bar area coz wifey and I always wanted the high chair. I'd say customer service is pretty good and that they were so friendly and efficient! Food is good and price is just right. We ordered the infamous $1 oyster twice coz it's so fresh and just perfect appetizer to have with the wine I ordered. Chicken wings bbq flavored is so good that I've ate most of it - chicken wings craving satisfied! Truffle french fries definitely hit the spot. A bit bland but it was seasoned good enough with the ketchup. Field green salad is a bit disappointing but their seasoning is good. Verdict: I'm happy and with that I leave the place with tummy satisfaction on it! Being that I frequent this Whole Foods, I actually have never eaten at Two Tides Bar. When I saw that they were doing the $1 oysters on Fridays, I couldn't pass up on such a good deal! So is the $1 oysters worth it? You have a choice of Kumamoto (smaller oysters) or Goose Point which are both very good quality oysters. I prefer the Goose Point just cause it's bigger. You have to order by the dozen. If you were to go elsewhere, you would probably have to pay like triple or more for oysters like these. So great quality oysters. Unfortunately, we came on a day when they were short on staff, and of course it was pretty busy since everyone wants in on the $1 oysters. We saw several tables next to us complaining because they hadn't received their oysters yet. We ordered a couple dozen oysters and had to wait about 40 minutes for it to come. I felt bad for the waiters because they had to take the heat but I guess they didn't have enough staff to shuck the oysters. Supposedly shucking oysters is not easy. Although our oysters took long, we still thought it was worth it for the price. Due to Covid, many places are short staff which really sucks. Hoping the next time, the service will be better but we are definitely coming back. FYI although it's promoted that the $1 oysters are all day till 7pm.. it actually ends around 5pm or probably whenever they run out. So go early!
