Two Hands delivered an exceptional dining experience, making it the perfect spot for a pre-concert meal. Thanks to their efficient reservation system, we were seated promptly and easily made our show on time. The drink and food menu exceeded expectations: 1) Banana Bread Martini was absolutely delicious and a standout cocktail. Happy Hour Burger was a generous portion size and very tasty. The captiva pasta was a huge hit with my daughter. Everything we tasted was remarkably fresh and packed with flavor. Beyond the great food, the service truly elevated the visit. Our waiter was warm, engaging, and genuinely enjoyable to interact with throughout the meal. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for great vibes, wonderful service, and delicious food.
The flavors of fresh cabbage that was pickled along with the tangy, cucumbers and mushrooms and sesame seeds were everything that made it freshly delicious. The fresh and warm sticky rice at the bottom of the bowl, was a great combination. This is something I would absolutely want to order again. Sat the bar, the place is a little small but service was quick
Takeaway coffee bar and casual sit-down restaurant. The coffee bar is not necessarily my all time favorite but it was fine. I really enjoyed their restaurant though ! Both indoors and outdoors are pleasant. Their kale bowl with chicken was fantastic. Flavor, price, portion size, and freshness were all great ! If you are familiar with Great White in Los Angeles, this reminded me very much of it ... staff were kind and had a good sense of humor too. They also make a solid martini. Would recommend !
First time and probably last time. Came in early on a Monday and they weren't very busy. Despite that, and three people at the reception, seemingly had to wait forever to speak to someone. One person working the reception was dealing with a customer. Totally get that. But the other two were just engaged in conversation and didn't seem to want to be bothered with a customer. Finally when we were addressed, they did bring us to a table and going forward, the server was quite attentive. My biggest disappointment is with the food. I have seen so many photos and I just wish my food would have come out as appetizing as the food I have seen in the photos. I think this place has a stronger emphasis on drinks I guess in hopes you won't notice the poor quality of the food. The menu was surprisingly very limited. I was just hoping for some eggs and toast but you don't have any option to create your own; I seemed limited to having eggs with fennel or feta and pesto and others that I have no interest in. I ended up ordering the "Big Brekky" and ordered the eggs fried. It comes with roasted tomato which I did not want and asked if I could do the roasted mushrooms instead. The meal comes with "sourdough" toast and their "Two Hands" hash browns. They put far too many herbs in the hash; I had a bite and the herb flavors were so overwhelming, I couldn't even taste the potato. I only had the one bit and didn't eat anymore. It didn't taste fresh; it seemed more like something they have it prepared long ahead of time and just warm it up. The bread while good... is NOT sourdough. If they think this is sourdough, someone needs to go back to school. And the eggs... I did order them fried, but these were beyond fried. The yolk was completely hard and I've never had a fried egg this overly cooked. And the meal came with a side of something they call "jam". I don't know what berries these are, but they are just in a pool of some type of syrup. Not sure what they think "jam" is, but this isn't. Overall, I ate the toast, had a bite of the hash browns and the eggs are so dried out, they were tasteless. And the "roasted mushrooms" were more mush than anything. Again, had a bite but couldn't eat more than that. This is one of those places where it's more about drinking than the food. There are too many other amazing breakfast places nearby to frequent this establishment. Again, don't be fooled by all the photos. Lastly, very expensive. I expect much more when spending $25 per person for breakfast. Again, too many other great options for really delicious food. Last thing, the music in this place is far too loud to have a decent conversation.
Treated myself out for dinner and glad I chose Two Hands. I contemplated on getting the Steak and Frites ($35) but ended up getting the Two Hander Burger (Double Cheeseburger with fries for $20) and 5 oz Steak ($15). Basically paid for the price of the Steak and Frites Combo, but got a bit more variety. The double cheeseburger was delicious. The patty was a good portion. Not too thick but enough to make you full. I enjoyed the petite size of the French fries, they were nice and crispy. The steak was absolutely amazing, and melted in my mouth. I highly recommend the side order of the 5 oz seared range Montana wagyu steak. It was absolutely worth it. Friendly service and relaxing vibes. I'll be back, give them a try!
Visited Two Hands on Congress for weekend brunch. It is an Australian restaurant known for fresh, delicious food, cocktails, and coffee. Parking is challenging as there are only paid parking options. The restaurant was very busy and it was an hour wait to be seated at a table. We were added to the wait list and of course my cell phone battery died so could not be notified. The host was understanding that I kept following up. The wait was a bit long due to weather preventing outdoor seating. They have both indoor and outdoor seating options. We were seated in the indoor dining area. The ambiance is very lively and bright for a happy vibe. Our sever was very friendly and attentive and happy to offer recommendations about the menu options. Started out with The Calm Before the Storm cocktail with smoky mezcal with bright grapefruit and lime, softened by chamomile syrup and a subtle bitters finish. Had a Smokey flavor profile that was still refreshing and complemented my meal. I ended up seeing another cocktail that looked appealing so I ordered the Paloma as well that was citrusy with fresh grapefruit slices. For food, the Breakfast Burrito was packed and flavorful with fluffy scrambled eggs, crispy hash browns, mushrooms, avocado, jalapeño, and melty cheese. The tomatillo sauce tied everything together perfectly with just the right amount of tang. The standout for me was the Steak & Egg. The seared Wagyu steak was tender and cooked beautifully, paired with a crispy hash brown and sunny egg that made every bite rich and satisfying. Even the mixed greens with anchovy dressing felt elevated instead of like an afterthought. Great atmosphere for brunch, quality ingredients, and cocktails that actually feel creative. Definitely will return for brunch at some point as the experience exceeded my expectations.
Came here for brunch and I got the breakfast burrito while my friend got the burger and fries. Both dishes were amazing, and our server was so nice. This was a nice area to have a bite and then walk around. I will definitely be back!
Went for happy hour and got super delicious drinks! Not busy and waitress was super attentive! The inside is adorable and would be so fun for a dinner! Our waitress also gave us amazing recs for food!
Super cute inviting diner/cafe. They have light delicate cocktails that pair perfectly with their lighter fare. I really liked that it wasn't a huge and heavy menu. The sandwich was just a really well made basic sandwich. Nothing fancy. So a little pricey but also nice that it's smaller portions and seems to use really fresh ingredients.
Had a great brunch experience here, though pricey. Came on a Saturday morning around noon and put our name down for a group of 5 and was sat in around 45 minutes! I thought that was pretty quick for how busy they were. They also have a side window where you can order coffee, smoothies and tacos while you wait. I got the banana smoothie and it was great! Beware though they told me the smoothies take a while to come out and it did but the coffees were coming out super fast. We were sat on the beautiful patio on a nice day and inside is really pretty too. They keep the patio doors open, so it all feels connected. To drink, I had the banana bread espresso martini. It was alright, didn't taste much like banana bread to me. Probably wouldn't order again but was fun to try. To eat, I had the big brekky plate and it was a very good basic breakfast plate but elevated. The scrambled egg was cooked so wonderfully and presentation 10/10. It looked like it hadn't been cooked all the way but there were no runny bits when eating it. The hash brown had a ton of flavor, almost too much seasoning, but it was good. The jam and butter with the toast were a good sweet compared to all the other salty items. I will say the menu is pretty pricey but the ambiance and elevated food presentation I think are worth it. It is pretty good portions too. A great spot to bring friends or family in town for a pretty day brunch or a meal with the girls!
I've always wanted to go to the coffee window on SoCo!! I finally got to go. I ordered an iced oat milk latte with spiced brown sugar syrup ~ Yum! This syrup wasn't too sweet and it was so flavorful. It was delicious and I would definitely order it again. The barista was friendly and efficient! The window is so cute & there are lots of places to work outside :)
We came here and honestly, I felt like I didn't have a great experience. I ordered a lavender lemonade and what I got Was it just a regular lemonade And this is where the gaslighting began. She kept saying that's a lavender lemonade.. I said it's supposed to be purple though...???? I don't know how I feel about it... still got charged for a lavender lemonade. When did she just gave me a regular lemonade. Came from California so we wanted to try a cute spot. Probably won't return.
I love Two Hands and have been to the Nashville and NYC locations so I sought out coming here for my trip in Austin! The menu is so well balanced and never misses. I love the design of the space too - this one was maybe my favorite of the locations I've visited. Breakfast was solid and fresh; I got the avocado toast with smoked salmon and an iced latte. I also loved the presentation too! Definitely will be back at Two Hands again.
Bright and airy restaurant on South Congress! Must make reservations beforehand, it's almost impossible to get a table by walking in on weekends. There's an underground parking garage next door to the restaurant ($6 per hour). Ordered the veggie burger with side of crispy chili fries, chicken bowl (sub salmon for chicken), and the breakfast roll. The chicken bowl substituted for the salmon was AMAZING! The salmon was cooked just right and the bowl had so many fresh and flavorful veggies. The veggie burger and breakfast roll didn't live up to our expectations, but were still tasty. Only downside was that it took a while for our orders to come out, but the waiter was friendly and apologized. Overall a great experience and would come back here again, especially for the bowls! read more

Usually a fan of this spot for the aesthetic and the good coffee, plus their avocado toast is vibrant and flavorful. Service is average, not bad not great. But my big issue with this place is that consistency is lacking.. Kitchen could really use help when it comes to cooking an egg. It's kind of like playing the lottery. It could either be really on point, or very far off. Today was a prime example and I made sure to snap a photo this time. My mom and I ordered the same dish, each with the addition of a poached egg. I think the photos speak for itself. Not even close. I'm not the type to send food back, especially when I'm in a bit of a rush before work. But this was honestly disappointing. I went ahead and ate it, but like cmon. This place could be great. But it's just eh. Maybe we set an egg timer next time we try poaching. read more

Two Hands is on the pricier side for brunch in Austin. I got the Lemon poppyseed waffle as well as the strawberry matcha. Both were absolutely delicious but very expensive considering the portion size. My boyfriend got the 2 handed burger with a side of fries. It was fast food quality at best, frying oil obviously needs to be changed. Service was pretty awful. Upon being seated the host told us she needed the table back in 2 hours. I thought it was weird to mention considering that's a lengthy duration of time and it just kind of rubbed me the wrong way. We got the breakfast roll and it was delicious! Hash browns don't look like how the normally do but wow it's a good thing because they are so much better than normal hash browns. We had a lovely waitress who was so sweet. We ordered the lavender lemonade and the cherry cocktail and didn't quite like them. The lemonade was too sweet and the cherry was way too fizzy. They kindly took them back and took them off our tab. We didn't get any attitude from anyone they were so understanding. We got coffee instead and the latte was amazing. I definitely recommend. Went back here twice in my weekend in Austin, it was just that good! The tomato toast was my favorite, so unique and delicious I did end up getting it both times. There was a wait when we tried to walk in both times, but we were seated quite quickly for how busy it was and the food came out so quickly each time! As someone who used to live a few blocks from the original Two Hands in NYC, I love Two Hands. After moving to Austin I had been waiting for an Australian coffee shop/cafe to open in Austin. I always know I can go to Two Hands for my fix of delicious coffee and/or matcha. The service is also always superb. As someone who is vegan, there aren't a ton of food options, but I do love their avocado toast. I recently went for dinner service and got their salad (without egg) and their fries. The salad had Brussels, broccolini, avocado, and a generous serving of hummus. The fries were crispy and were unique with the addition of the chili oil (which they also use on their avocado toast). I hope Two Hands adds some additional vegan friendly options in the future, because I'm sure whatever they add will be delicious. Also - the lavender oat matcha is a must! read more
