I love seafood boil places. I really do. However with this joint, my love waned. And it hurt. I was initially excited because this is a black owned place and I was finally getting to check it out! Yes! And it's BYOB! Yessss!!! Upon arriving I met with the group I was meeting to eat with and sat down. The waiter has started to take orders and was going to come around to me last. Cool. But in the middle of taking orders, he gets completely distracted and leaves to do something to the point where we though he forgot about us. He finally comes back. I ordered the snow crab special which was a pound of snow crab legs plus a half of pound of headless shrimp for an extra 7 bucks. Added 3 potatoes to the bag for another 3 bucks (most I've paid to add potatoes) and got the original (barely no spice) spice with the three flavor mix. I have learned my lesson from other similar establishments that medium spice is still pretty hot. However, none of the places that I've gone to have EVER had a problems accommodating me when I've asked for the mildest space on my food but to give me a side of the medium. Our waiter told me that they couldn't do that and the only thing I could do was get my food and then send it back to the kitchen to make it hotter if I wanted it hotter. *blank stare* Alright. Getting the wine uncorked took some time as well. We had to ask a few times because our waiter kept forgetting I guess. The food finally comes for like half of the table. Oddly, those who ordered things like wings had to wait forever to get their food! Normally that stuff will come out before the seafood bags. People were almost to the point of wanting to cancel their orders especially seeing other tables get served before us. As bags are put down, our waiter insists on opening them for us. Cool. I am given no tools to eat my crab legs with and had to borrow some from another person at the table. As I'm eating, my bag develops some kind of leak and there is the seasoning oil soaking the table and dropping on me. Happened to another person at the table. First time this has ever happened to me. I already had a napkin in my lap so I just dealt with it. The spice was clearly not original lol! My nose was running and everythang! And more than anything, there was an overwhelming lemon pepper flavor but it was still good. As we tried to wrap up, it was also a slight task. Getting to go bags, getting the check, all that. One of my friends asked for a to go bag and it took our waiter about 20 mins to come back. Literally. In total I paid about 40 for the meal because gratuity was included. I left an additional 5 buck tip and totally shouldn't have. I left. Not sure if I'll go back. Maybe I will to give it another shot, but I can't lie, it wasn't the best experience. At all. read more

Nothing like a good seafood boil joint! I came here recently with a friend and we had our appetites ready for some seafood and starch in a bag. We knew we had to get here before 6pm on a Friday night as it would be chaos. Called around 5:15pm to see what the wait would be like and it was already a 45 minute wait. That was cool as my friend was already in the area and it would take me around 25 mins to get there from South Loop with traffic. I walked in and our table was ready to go. Looked at the menu of goodies and I knew I was going with snow crab, headless shrimp, red potatoes and corn on the cob with cajun seasoning set at mild heat. Very good flavor here and I wasn't over stuffed with this awesome meal! You have other options like lobster tail, king crab, andouille sausage and shrimp with head if you want to add more and mix it up. Mid meal I looked near the entrance and the place was packed as hell as it should be as its very good and not another place like it nearby. The place is BYOB and you can order takeout FYI! The brothers that work here taking your orders and bussing the tables are good dudes and very helpful when discussing the menu. Good spot and plan on returning very soon! read more

I visited here with excitement. The night was going well even after a 30 min wait. I was with a party of 4 and the gentleman ordered fried catfish which was delectable. The fish was seasoned like your mom seasoned it (unless she can't cook). The boils were great and reasonably priced. However my issue:: plastic cutlery,our waiter didn't tell us the kitchen closed at 9:30 (restaurant closed at 10) and she forgot a part of our meal and instead of apologizing, she said, "I'll just take it off the bill" as if that was supposed to make things better. The food was exceptional but I actually wanted more and couldn't get it! I'll be back again, but definitely earlier. Update: waited 3 hrs (yes, I'm goofy for this). I'm here on special day and they literally ran out of the shrimp for the special and didn't say anything until we sat down. I am extremely pissed and then, the manager strolled over like it wasn't a big deal. They didn't even say anything to people waiting in the lobby. The manager acted unphased and there is absolutely no communication between the kitchen and the staff. I was finally offered head on shrimp with my special after much complaining about compensation. I will NEVER return. Like ever. This was a total nightmare. read more

Having lived only two years in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and eating authentic Louisiana cuisines DAILY, I was extremely disappointed at the ingredients lacking in their alleged seafood boil, the watered down wieners in place of the sausages, no eggs, and the high costs. The best thing that they have are the different sauces and levels of spicy, but for me, even with the sauces, it's not worth the wait, time, nor cost. I tried eating there several times (you can count my number of visits on one hand) within several years and was disgusted each time. It's like they are NOT trying to give their Chicago customers the Louisiana authenticity. They're cheating Chicagoans out of THE REAL LOUISIANA CUISINES EXPERIENCE, but charging higher prices than the Louisiana restaurants. read more

Let me just say our server was awesome, but the place felt like HELL on a 90 degree day you have to pay for water, bibs and gloves this is why many black establishment don't last this was my first time and my last time just let me run over here and spend my money with the white folks in some good old air conditioning and service and yes I complain and leave reviews when when white people don't provide awesome service!!! So two fish zero stars!!!!! read more

I love two fish...been there many times and the food is amazing. However, I went there yesterday with my friend...it was literally just us two. When the bill came, it said there were 10 people at our table...which we were charged for large party gratuity. When we asked the server about it he said that's just how it is and even someone who would only dine in with a table for one would be charged as a large party table as well. I thought that unfair, but we paid with no problem...in the future I won't be returning because I feel like that's greedy. So they just lost a longtime loyal customer. read more

We ordered delivery from Two Fish for the first time today. OMG it was DELICIOUS! I felt obliged to write a review lol. We ordered crawfish, shrimp, corn, potato and chicken sausage. Everything was tasty and good portion! The shrimp were surprisingly big and fresh! Tried 3 sauces, the 3 the Chi way was definitely the best!! The best Cajun seafood in Chicago!!! Will order again! The water is disgusting. The service is ok but very very slow. The corn is sometimes over cooked. The sauces are great. The portion for the price is very fair. The quality of the seafood is good. Difficult to get a park. BYOB read more

Yum yum yum! First off I'm happy to have tried this awesome black owned business!!! Definitely something different for the Southside of Chicago. My boyfriend and I went here for a Sunday date night, got seated quickly and was welcomed by a nice server. I ordered the 1lb shrimp and 1lb crab leg boil, Chicago seasoned and spicy. It was so yummy and oh so much food. My partner had the fried catfish deal, which was seasoned to perfection. Goodness those were some large shrimp, I wouldn't complain! My boyfriend had to help me finish my share, although I am eating for two. Everything was a hit, my only complaint was they have all plastic utensils. I mean small dollar store plastic cups which I felt a little weird about and the same goes for the forks and knives. The young lady I'm dealing with right now have a nasty attitude, I'm placing a to go order the whole time she taking my order she keeps rolling her eyes, and every time she talks it with an attitude. Was taken the 2 fish for my birthday on 3/6 approximately 4:30. It took almost 30 minutes to be waited on, inquired about the service he said he was the only one working. After placing our orders, we had to ask for our beverages. For the amount and price the King crab it was tasteless and the order was stingy. My daughter's catfish and shrimp had no salt. My granddaughters order was more than half of mussels did not open. Needless to say the ride from Aurora and back was a waste. read more

The food was great . The seafood bag was seasoned to perfection. The catfish was great and the hot wings were good: I would've gave them a 5 but the speed of service was kind of slow. On a busy night more than two servers are needed. read more

Got the 1/2 lb shrimp and crab leg for $21.99 with 3 Chi Way sauce. They have the best sauce in the city hands down. However they are not measuring correctly during the takeout only environment. I got 4 shrimp and 1 cluster which is certainly not 1/2 lb. Also the crab legs were overcooked. I won't be going back until they have dine in. They aren't efficiently prepared for this environment and they are definitely cheating folks on the portions. read more

I spent $132, got home, and had to call back to speak with the manager to express my concern. I guess it became too overwhelming (no profanity used) for her, and she HUNG UP on me, and upon doing that her actions showed my family that my $132 meant NOTHING to their business. My family and I won't be back! I went to a restaurant with my family, and the dining area was cold, and the table we sat at was wobbly. The waiter asked us if we wanted to sit at a bigger or better table, which we did. We asked for water, but we had to buy it (something to do with Covid ?), and when I got ready to place the order, the waiter explained the setup. After considering the fact that it was cold and I'm anemic, I decided to get our food to go. I went on the other side and placed the same order with the cashier. Once we got home, we had no corn or potato's. I called and asked to speak to the manager. I informed her of my concerns; she looked for my name and then told me I didn't order or pay for the combo. I told her I did order it, and the cashier said I didn't. Then the manager said you didn't order it. I said so, I'm a liar? Then she said, well, it must have been a misunderstanding. That was more acceptable. Then she said you could come back if you liked and pay for the potatoes and corn. I asked, What about my inconvenience in having to come back? She then said, Well, I can't give it to you for free! What do you want me to do? She never offered a resolution but clearly said what she wasn't going to do, and the word free never came out of my mouth. But yet she claimed to be a manager, somewhat loud and combative over a $9 difference, and had no 'win-win" customer service skills! Go figure, she acted as though she had lost something, and I'm guessing that's why, as a manager, she hung up on me. read more

My goodness my meal was horrible!! I have never had rubbery crawfish and dry crab legs before in my life. I actually didn't know that was possible. AND I paid $50 +extra for potatoes/corn. I usually go to Hot and Juicy in Evergreen Park but was excited to see something was close to home. I'll be driving out to Evergreen Park from now on. Cheaper, better and you get a lot more for your money. I will never understand why folks told me two fish was good? Ugh read more

I was sad that this place has been open for almost two years and we were just now finding out about it. I appreciate simplicity of the menu. Order what you want by the pound or get the meal. Short and sweet. The food comes to you for take out or dining in, in plastic bags. Someone who owns this place must be from Louisiana because I swear the crawfish, crabs, and shrimp legit come in bags or paper crates. Now after all the hype, the food was mediocre at best. I ordered the crawfish and not only were they small but the seasoning wasn't as delightful as I hoped. I tried the Cajun. My partner tried the catfish meal and we both agreed we make better fried catfish at home. Now I give them three stars because I will give them another chance. Everyone deserves a second chance. The food wasn't all that but maybe we need to order the crab or shrimp. Maybe we need to be more adventurous with the seasonings. We shall see... read more

This place food wise is 5 Star all the way, however, I'm giving it 4 stars due to lack of attention to details and the overall aesthetics of the restaurant. It seems they were going for a rustic look but may have gone a bit too far as they have achieved an overly worn look. The tables and chairs don't give off a rustic look it makes me think they simply couldn't afford decent furnishings and collected a ton of used tables and chairs from various restaurants that went out of business. The women's room was marked with a wooden W however the men's room was missing any markings to let you know what it was. I actually passed it twice. But yelp is here more to discuss the food so here it goes. We ordered everything on the menu except the wings, lobster, crab legs shrimp (steamed and fried) fires potatoes corn and sausage EVERYTHING was phenomenal. Had some of it prepared "3 the Chi way" and the rest Cajun And it was PERFECT. This place was so good it reminded me of a spot we went to in Hawaii and rivaled some of the spots we had in Louisiana. Can't wait to go back. Hopefully by then they'll tweak some of the misses with the decor. read more

Located in Chicago on 47th street I wasn't to sure about this location until I looked it up on Yelp and read 2 reviews I was sold. Passed up the restaurant the signage is on the door so it's easy to pass by. Parking is on the street, but I had to park around the block which was a short walk. We were seated immediately, music blaring which was some nice soulful sounds of various artist from Badu, Sade, Lauren Hill, etc inside of building not much to look at, that's ok the food made up for that. Excited to try this south side seafood place. Overall really good food, but could use have been a better experience. Food: I went with the seafood bag of crab and shrimp with the 3 the chi way mild. The seasoning was well balanced and the seafood tasted fresh. I also ordered the oyster which only come fried. They were ok but too much breading, they should offer oysters grilled. Service: Our server was nice and took good care of us, but we were told that a list of credit cards would not be accepted when the bill arrived. The good thing is I had a card they did accept, but this should be explained upfront in my opinion. Also I liked the food so much I called to order to go a few days after my 1st visit and the lady mentioned I had to come inside to order. So I assume they don't accept call orders which is not ideal. I have heard wait times can be very long but I came in a Sunday at 12 and was seated immediately. Overall really good food! read more

If you're looking for a delicious seafood boil, look no further than Two Fish. It is a lovely place for a date night with your partner (like the millionth date because things do get messy), bring a bottle of wine (it's byob), sit down and enjoy the food and great music selection. My only complaint about Two Fish was that when I went yesterday they said I could not order half pounds of seafood, even though they let me order by the half pound at least three times previously. read more

I just recently moved to Chicago but I'm the type of person that researches where they want to eat before going. One of the first places on my list to try was Two Fish! Two Fish is black owned, located in Bronzeville, IL which is about 20 minutes from the city. When you arrive, there isn't a parking lot but you can try to find street parking, u would suggest getting an Uber or Lyft. They have a waitlist on Yelp or you can go to the counter and wait. Either way, depending on the time you go, you'll have to wait because the food is just THAT good. When you get seated, they automatically give you bibs before your food comes. Seeing that this is a seafood boil type establishment, it's befitting. I ordered the headless shrimp mild, with 3 the Chi Way seasoning which is a mixture between garlic, lemon pepper and I got a fried catfish basket...I was hungry that day ok? ... when I tell you that the food was soooo good! The food was good! First off, the shrimp had the most flavor I've ever had broiled. I don't know how they do it but they did it. Don't get me started on the fried fish. It was fried perfectly, not too hard or too soft, flaky but solid, flavorful and filling...perfect. I DEFINITELY suggest that you try out Two Fish, you will not be disappointed. Came in on Friday, ordered $125 worth of seafood and was forced to bring it home because they had nothing for me to eat the crab with; only one pair of crab crackers in the entire restaurant. The server should have told us that before we ordered. I didn't make a scene because I was way too tired. But that type of thing makes me question management's effectiveness for this to happen on a Friday evening. Adding insult to injury, I'd been bragging about your place to the person I was with. Very bad first impression. read more

Maybe they overcooked it, i dont know. They also wouldn't put any of the juice or boil in a separate container for dipping the crab meat. Most establishments charge you for sauce on the side which I was willing to pay for but the lady behind the counter refused. It was a very disappointing experience, and honestly they probably got these snow crab from a Costco or wherever they sell them in stores. If people are paying money for snow crab please ensure the snow crab has meat in them.

I ordered a Baked Alaska, consisting of citrus cake, lemon cream, toasted meringue, and salted white chocolate crunch. We both also ordered cocktails. I cannot recall the name of the drinks. I asked for my drink to be fruity and sweet, but it wasn't enough of either for me. The Baked Alaska was fine but too much of various flavors. I wouldn't fault the restaurant for the drink or dessert taste as I know others really enjoyed theirs. Our server was most attentive and very helpful. We found that making a reservation on Open Table only offered a certain number of time slots, and all of them involved having dinner and not just drinks or a dessert. Reservations can also be made on their website though we chose to speak to the front desk about a reservation. Going up to the bar is first come, first serve though. We ended up making an Open Table reservation and were told it was okay to only order drinks and desserts. Cindy's is named in honor of Marian "Cindy" Pritzker, a beloved Chicago philanthropist. It sits on top of the 13th floor of the hotel under a glass atrium and offers views of Millennium Park, Lake Michigan, and beyond. Cindy's Rooftop is open Monday through Thursday from 11 AM to 11 PM, Friday from 11 AM to 12 Midnight, Saturday from 10 AM to 12 Midnight, and Sunday from 10 AM to 11 PM. The atmosphere is more on the intimate side, nothing overly flashy, just a comfortable place to enjoy a good meal. Parking is pretty reasonable and the lot is spacious, but when it's busy, you'll definitely feel it. There were three of us, and we ordered the fondue, fried alligator, fried shrimp, three-piece stuffed crab, and blackened salmon with red beans and rice, plus a drink. After tax and tip, the bill came out to around $150-$160, which felt fair for what we ordered. Overall, this is still one of my go-to spots and I'll definitely be back. Although the service was poor and has always been at THIS location, we still left a $10 tip being that they had given all of this stuff for free ("appetizer on the house", comped salad, and the gift card). Immediately confused, my mom got out and went inside to address this.
