UPDATE ON MY REVIEW: I'm not sure if this place is under new management or what, but it has been twice I purchased a seafood pan and my corn was hard, sausages lazily cut up, a crazy amount of juice at the bottom and bland. It felt like my food was rushed. Fisherman's Island used to be my #1 and I mean My GO TO...When I go I spend bank, because what I want is not cheap. I am so disappointed. read more

Hmm, where to start. I ordered 2lbs of snow crab legs with sausage. When I opened the tray I had 2 clusters of snow crab not 2lbs and no sausage. When I went to opening the crab legs there was no meat in them. If they would've weighted it which I assumed they did, they would've realized I wasn't receiving 2lbs of snow crab more like a pound of shell. A whole leg came with a half knuckle size of meat. Maybe they overcooked it, i dont know. They also wouldn't put any of the juice or boil in a separate container for dipping the crab meat. Most establishments charge you for sauce on the side which I was willing to pay for but the lady behind the counter refused. It was a very disappointing experience, and honestly they probably got these snow crab from a Costco or wherever they sell them in stores. If people are paying money for snow crab please ensure the snow crab has meat in them. read more

This is my favorite place to get seafood! I love how well they season the food and of course the fact that they accept food stamps. I'm about to go pick up my book right now as we speak lol read more

This place has the best fried chicken I've had in a looong time. The meat is tender and well-seasoned to bone and the price was very good. Its better than Popeyes! read more

The best one out of the 3 locations in my surrounding area. The food amount is good seasoning great and they always have the deserts when I go. read more

This place should be ashamed of themselves for selling their customers this garbage. Crawfish tasted like it sat out for months, then you decided to cook it, and think because of the seasoning I won't know the difference. I'm only giving two stars, because everything else was decent. But I'll never come back. read more

Love this Seafood I really don't care for the location as I see they are building several more one they have built out in Oak Forest which I will be checking out soon they have another one on Cottage Grove which is about the same amount of distance to me but back to the food I have ordered that I want to see at least three times this is my favorite between fisherman and Seafood Junction I think fisherman is totally better what the quality of seafood the amount that you get the seasoning that's on the seafood the prices are a little bit lower in my God I don't know what they put in that butter if I could just buy the butter and buy the seasoning cuz I can steam a crab legs pretty well but I wish they would give out the recipe will let you buy the sauce that's what get you that is what's bringing you through the doors the sauce that they put on the spices the butter my favorite I believe it's number 28 when you can get a lobster tail a cluster and shrimp I always add another cluster so me and my daughter don't have to be fighting on the Clusters cuz wheel of crap and it has with it tons of steamed vegetables potatoes broccoli and is just delicious but it will cost you a little all and I believe $58 $60 but it is enough for two people if you get an extra cluster read more

So I check this place out today. I walked into this place with no idea of what I was going to get from this pretty much simple to order menu. Well it didn't take me long to get to #14. Great price and a verity. I was very happy with my selection. My Sea food combination hit the spot and some for later. I just put the pan in the over with the lid on and it was as good as the 1st bite. (15 mins on 300) So this was a winner I must say The service was nice. It only took 10 mins to get my food (cooked to order) Steamed just Right My food was very good and fresh I love the sides and I picked the Cajun seasoning. And you can ask for extra condiments if you need more. This place has parking in 2 areas. In the front and on the side of the building And right next door to a gas station. They take all forms of payments. And you can tip them. I really recommend that if you like sea food at its best and carry out then you must give this place a try. Happy yelping read more

Honestly, it is extremely addictive. The area may not be the best but the staff is nice and I have never waited on my food for more than 15 minutes. The food is nicely seasoned. It was nice to find a place where it was closer to my home and to also find seafood in an area where most things are fried, it was nice to eat fresh seafood. I will be a continuous consumer. Updated on 2/29/2016: still love this place but I am taking a star away for parking, how on Sundays it says that they open at 11am but don't open the doors until noon (don't know how it is on other days) and one time when I ordered a snow crab platter they gave me all claws. Sometimes the food can come overly seasoned. But the good outweigh the bad. read more

Found this place by accident looking for seafood on New Year's Eve. Recently moved to the Southside and was pleasantly surprised. Staff was pleasant, wait for food was reasonable, and I definitely got what I paid for. Food lasted 2 days. read more

Affordable & Delicious!! I was very skeptical at first because it's in a gas station but once I received a couple of recommendations I decided to give it a try and this place was delicious. I was able to get quite a bit of food for a very low price compared to some of the other places with the same niche. My staple go to is the half pound of shrimp and crab cluster the vegetables are so will season I typically get the Cajun and the lemon pepper sometimes I get the jerk which is a little spicy but all around you can't go wrong when you try the different ones the house and the lemon pepper is a really good one too. I would only suggest that you call in before ordering then that way you just pick up and go read more

Let me start with the butter is delicious, it's scary!!! This place peeked my interest as I am looking for good food options in Englewood. It was good! The price was right, not too expensive for seafood, and it was fresh. The cons were that it's about 3 blocks away from my friends house and from them handing it to him to the 5 min drive home the food was cold. The potatoes were also over cooked. There was also on small ear of corn which I thought was a bit stingy. Overall it was solid food and it has potential. Check it out if your looking for delicious seafood in Englewood. read more

This was my first visit but it certainly will not be my last! The food was delicious, I can't wait to try everything on the menu! 4 stars because of the parking. read more

Would have gave 5 stars but the customer service needs improving. The food is ALWAYS delicious, consistently prepared correctly in prompt timing. This place certainly compares to Angry Grab and better than Seafood Junction. Ive been several times, never disappointed in the food...only the customer service. This is place is often very busy and could use more staff or staff who can handle the fast pace instead of wearing there problems on their sleeve at work. read more

When I tell you this food was so good !! It was fresh and flavorful . The crab legs, steamed shrimp , lobster tail , potatoes , corn , and broccoli. It's not a done in restaurant . It's a fresh market and they will cook everything for a dollar after you purchase it . Everything was really good . I will be going back as soon as I can . read more

Found this hidden gem located in the south side Chicago right off the high way on 63rd St. I was very impressed with their high quality food, not to mention all their platters are served with 3 sides. I ordered the lobster tail and snow crab and it was by far the best! Their house seasoning takes 6 stars! I can't wait to come back and try the rest of their platters. I recommend this anyone who has great taste for seafood! read more

Decided to finally try out this spot after going by the 87th locale and not impressed with the wait. I will say this location is easy to access off of I-90 but beware that the parking is less ideal as it shares space with a Shell gas station. On to the food. Well nothing short of delicious. I ordered two platters 1. Perch and 2. Shrimp/Salmon combo. Both came with three sides of potatoes, corn and broccoli. Sides of butter, tarter and cocktail sauce provided Umm umm good! read more

Absolutely delicious!!! I've referred several people to them and get the same response, "They're the BOMB!!" Great food but they never have the order ready when u get there so just be prepared to wait.

Purchase a #1 for my self, delicious! Purchase a #7 for my aunt, she loved it! My cousin got some of their crab salad and it was gone within 20 minutes! Will be stopping in again! It's not a sit in place. read more

I accidentally found this place but it was a good find. The counter staff was very friendly and so nice to me. She asked me what I like and I told her I like snow crab and lobster tail so she recommended me to order number 15 which was snow crab and lobster tail. I only had to wait like 5 minutes for my food. Everything was hot and delicious. It also came with broccoli, potatoes, and corn. I didn't finish all the food and saved it for my next meal. I loved the butter flavor and can't wait to go back there again. Lobster tail is a must! read more

Every time I visit Fisherman's Island I'm always impressed with fast service and delicious food . I've tried just about everything and I can truthfully say it's probably the best Seafood with Cajun flavors on the Southside. Crab legs were money but the shrimp wasn't done. Feeling a little sick as I'm typing.

Soooo I'm back to update my review. First let me say the customer service is untouchable. I was contacted by Mohammad telling me he'd like nothing more than to be able to redeem himself and give me another pan of food to enjoy in the hopes of liking my food and updating the review. Of course I was skeptic but didn't really give it much thought. Until I got a call from Pam asking for the same opportunity. I agreed but it slipped my mind (with me knowing how to cook and so many other places to eat in Chicago it was an easy oversight) until she called again. Something said "damn they are REALLY going out of their way to please the customer" so I went in today to pick up the food. And let me say it was cooked SUPERBLY this time around. Mohammad told me to request "light seasoning" which I did and that made a world of difference. Plus everything was cooked just right this time. Even if the food wasn't up to my standards (which it was this time) I would've given them 4 stars for effort. Will I be back? YESSSSS!!!!! Thanks Pam you're a gem girl! read more

The food is always good and greatly seasoned. I don't like the lobster tail however. It's expensive and sometimes they don't cook it thoroughly. Mmmmm Mmmm Good! I had a craving for shrimp. Opened my Yelp App and saw this place. It was close to my house which was also a plus. Almost did not see it near the gas station. The shrimp were delish and well worth the trip. read more

Stop whatever u r doing and make your way here...this spot is amazingly good! Hands down the best new place I've tried this year. All the food was fresh, seasoned to perfection, hot, and just down right great! I ordered the combo with the crab legs, lobster, large shrimp and it came with broccoli, potatoes, and corn. I also got the tilapia 1/2 lb that was also the best tilapia I've ever had. Restaurant is connected to a gas station which caught me off guard when looking for it, but as soon as you enter you step into the establishment you forget where you are. They amount of food they give you is great, so you feel like you definitely get your money worth. Will definitely be back, especially love the fact that everything is steamed or grilled...they don't fry anything, so everything is really healthy. If you don't visit this place, your loss b/c if u go downtown and get this same meal you're going to spend $60+. Note that this place is carry out only, but as soon as you get home you realize all u want to do is take a nap bc you're going to be in a food coma. read more

No stars! I'm totally disappointed! I've been here several times before and was totally unaware you have to ask for seasoning on your food! Never asked before! Now I'm at home with a $30 meal adding salt and pepper!!!! Never again! I called no help there so I just won't buy it again! Should of known not to come back anyway after I came in at 10 stood in line and the cashier yelled, "We closed!" The door was open the open sign was lit and everything!
