We found ourselves in Reno for a couple of days and decided to return Two Chicks today. It was nice coming on a weekday as it wasn't crazy busy like it was on the weekend on our last visit. We arrived around 9 AM, we're warmly greeted and were seated right away. Delaney was our server and was very friendly. We ordered a sourdough pancake combo with sausage and a pancake combo with the Nutella pancakes special and bacon. Delaney asked if I would like anything extra in my eggs like spinach and cheese. I thought that sounded very good. My husband also mentioned that we would be back on Friday and could he get just a small taste of the gravy as he was considering getting biscuits and gravy upon our return. She said, of course! Our food came out fairly quickly and was hot and absolutely delicious! We were surprised to receive a dish of gravy. My husband tried it and thought it was very good. He only had a small amount as we couldn't even finish our regular breakfast. When our bill came, I wasn't surprised that I was charged for spinach and cheese as I kind of assumed that. But we were very surprised that we were charged $2.99 for the gravy. I think that should've been mentioned upfront when we asked for a small taste. Then we could have decided if it was worth it. That's the only reason for four stars versus five. This is a terrific breakfast place overall! read more

It's always so busy here and if you eat here, you'll know why! We haven't been back in a while just because we're always on the go and there are times it's so packed you have to wait which we hardly ever have time for. While they were packed today, at almost closing time, we managed to get a table without waiting more than a minute, total score! Soon after we sat down, our server met us with a friendly smile and no joke, no more than 10-15 minutes after she took our food and drink order, we had food and drink. I was expecting to wait a while considering how busy they were but no, it was quick. In addition, she checked on us just the right amount, and so did those helping her. Kudos to Devyn and her team! Now the food - I love breakfast but I'm always so worried about ordering eggs because 3/4 times, my eggs are not right. I ordered over hard, I always do, can't do any runnyness... these were perfect. The gravy had a ton of sausage crumbles, the Parmesan hash browns were a first for me but paired perfectly with everything on my plate. I also was adventurous and tried a strawberry lemonade mimosa (not like me at all) and was happy that it wasn't too sweet or sour, it was just right! The simplest item was and always is my favorite, their butter. Spread just enough over your toast and you feel like you're eating the perfect bite of french toast. Two Chicks restaurant is a hip brunch destination with a young vibe. They have a large menu with tons of vegetarian and vegan options. The service is also quick and the staff is friendly. I ordered the vegan skillet and added two eggs to make it a bit more filling. The skillet was fresh, light, and sweet. This has been on my list since I moved here and I finally had the chance to go! I now understand the hype! I love that while it's traditional brunch it has some twists and unique options. For example, the artichokes on the mother clucker sandwich were so good and something you don't find everywhere! Their bread also makes a huge difference! You can tell it's fresh and local - big plus! The fries were good, as were all the different dipping sauces (yes, I tried everyone's around the table!). Their brunch cocktails are also fun! I personally loved the kombucha mimosa - a fun twist on the regular mimosa. A longtime favorite in the area. If you like breakfast check out this cramped diner. Two Chicks is one of the hip places in Midtown. Has breakfast favorites. They also have options for vegans. I think this is the best place in Reno for breakfast. It basically has something for everyone. Traditional breakfast stuff like bacon, eggs, and pancakes are on the menu. Also they have a few things for lunch like burgers. There's also plenty of animal product free items. Even at breakfast. This is one of the few breakfast places a vegan can get something. I like the Sourdough Pancakes. It's three for $10.49 and these are pretty big, not like the mini size. These have no eggs or milk but be careful because they put a side of butter with it sometimes so tell them not to. Also has stuff at lunch, mostly burgers. It has a non meat one. This place can get crazy busy, so if it's more than yourself, then you may have to wait. read more

I absolutely always love going to Two Chicks. If you are a Reno local or just visiting, this is def a place to go to if you have not already, especially if you are around the midtown area. First off, if you are not a very patient person, either go early morning or make yourself a reservation! I just learned this for the last time I came into Two Chicks and it was absolutely worth it because I came on a Sunday around 10:30am and the place was packed and ton of people were waiting for a table. The drinks here are worth the money. Get yourself a coffee because something about their coffee is just so delicious and warming. Then get yourself an actual drink. For me, I love their Bloody Mary's and I personally think it's the best with Tito's ! I also have had their champbucha and their mimosas and I am not disappointed at all , plus it does the brunch vibe job. The food is decently portioned and obviously delicious. I am always into getting egg Benedicts at breakfast places and Two Chicks egg benny's are pretty dang good. I had their gourmelt benny last time which was really good , but I tried their steak egg benny and it was delicious! I get my steak usually medium rare and they cooked it perfectly for me. Heard a lot about this joint from my kid at UNR so decided to give it a try one weekend while visiting her. I was in the mood for biscuits and gravy but all the restaurants I have ordered from were just too much to handle. Glad they offered a half order for a lighter lunch. That didn't happen. A single biscuit with gravy as a meal was sooooo filling. The biscuit wasn't hard or dense but it was big. The gravy was one of the best I have had. The service was great and friendly. Make a reservation!! Without it, you will be facing incredibly long wait times upwards of 50 minutes. We checked out two chicks for brunch for a friends birthday. The drinks were delicious and refreshing I liked the limemade rum fizz drink it was a breezy brunch drink. Also LOVE two chicks logo "fresh as f**k" what a hilarious idea- can I buy some merch? I got the half bene caprese and half bene veggie- both incredibly delicious and fresh with the perfect runny egg yolk. Fresh, local ingredients on point! Bene eggsceptional perfection! The side of sweet potato hash is where I ran into issues. I was expecting the orange sweet potato you usually get with sweet potato fries. Soft and sweet. Instead it was some kind of weird varietal that was white and tasted like a real potato and not a sweet potato! Kind of disappointing. We as a collective group even googled it thinking is this really sweet potato? I think there should be a disclaimer that it's not the sweet potato variety most people think of. I would also suggest that they allow mix and matching benes for more than just the first three- id happily pay the higher cost for two different types!! My other recommendation to make the process more smoother is to have a line for with reservations and without. It was pretty chaotic in the beginning because there was a line of like 5 people who didn't have reservations (or keep it to 1 representative per party) because the entry way was so small and I had to squeeze and make my way through! Yeah...... so the customer service was great!. The waitresses were very attentive and put in our order correctly! The ambiance of the restaurant itself was very cool and chic. Coffee was delicious!! Docking off a star due to my Salmon Benedict. As you see in the picture, it barely came with any sauce and when I requested more it would've been a $3 up charge. I understand needing to charge more for extra....but the original plate should've came with enough in the first place.... I didn't want to believe the other persons review but alas they were correct. Found this spot while looking for a last minute place for breakfast. Parking is really hard to find but worth the look. We had a party of 6 and service was great. We had a variety of items from chicken piccata Benedict, breakfast poutine fries, breakfast burrito, pancake dippers, kids pancake with blueberry's. Kids pancake (huge) and pancake dippers don't come with anything but the pancake. Burrito is HUGE and come with choice of sweet potatoes or hash browns (get the hash browns). So let me start with I have been trying to come to this restaurant in Midtown for YEARS now and never got the chance due to wait times or time restrictions but finally scored the Golden time at the new South Reno location and so happy we did! The michelada's here are out of this world and the champagne campaign makes you feel so much better about drinking more than one Mimosa haha!! The Chicken Fried Steak was out of this world and had the crunch and not sogginess that sometimes happens with Country Fried steak. The Gravy actually had meet in yet, total WIN!! The California Eggs benedict was a Special and it was so freaking yummy and light that you did not get the normal gross fullness that you get when eating traditional eggs benedict. I was in town for Hot August nights. I looked on Yelp for a breakfast restaurant. I ordered my go to breakfast the eggs Benedict and a Hawaiian bloody Mary. GPS will get you killed trying to find this restaurant. Other comments say nearly no parking. I can't say for sure as we never got close enough to see. All the one-way narrow streets make getting to the restaurant nearly impossible. Heavy traffic as well. Yea we're old. Old people like breakfast and we like someplace easy to get to. This is NOT that. We finally gave up and drove further south to the OTHER Two Chicks in Reno. The hash browns were not crisp, the sourdough toast was hard as a rock, the steak with my eggs was grisly and the waitress who was pleasant when we arrived clearly did not like being waved at to the get a coffee refill. Breakfast is about full cups of coffee. She was clearly annoyed. Additionally, you have to request jam for your toast as it's oddly not on the table. The berry flavored butter they provide is pure cinnamon (yuck). We finally satisfied our curiosity after all the 'good' reviews and will skip Two Chicks in the future. read more

This is one of our favorite breakfast spots. The menu is innovative enough to keep you coming back a week after week. The mimosas are served only half full, but in the largest glass I can think of so you really do get a lot of bang for your buck. The bloody Mary's are absolutely perfect every time. They have a nice combination of savory and sweet dishes. A lot of other dishes are served with Toast as many breakfast are but they amp it up by serving it with a unique and seasonal butter. The last time we were there it was a honey butter that was absolutely delicious. If you haven't tried this place, and you are local, you are missing out. They have two locations in Reno and I have been to both and can say that the food is very consistent as is the excellent service. This place is a no-brainer for breakfast. read more

I honestly dream about the pancakes. I ordered only one because - as I knew it would - the gooey chewy UltiMelt Omelette with hash browns packed a savory punch that satisfied me thoroughly. But it was that special-ordered single Sourdough Pancake that brought me back the following day for another one, this time with an order of Biscuits & Gravy, scrambled egg and sausage. I'm a Californian. Gas and inflation are real hurdles but there's a part of me that wants to book a room and return for a full stack of those pancakes. I am a huge breakfast person so when I saw all the wonderful reviews I was so excited to go here. The wait was 45 minutes - which, for me, is a long time to wait but I thought that also showed that a lot of people like the place. We had drinks outside and they were very good. They are the same price as inside but much smaller portions. So - if you don't have a long wait you might want to wait till you're inside to order. The Benedicts were a hit with our table of 4 so if that's your thing this is probably a good place to go. One in our party sent back their order because it was cold though. My bacon was cooked to a hard crisp. I've heard other people ask for crispy bacon but that's not how I like it. It's hard and has no flavor. The bread options were offered to me and I selected the biscuit (added uncharge which I did not know) and it's more like a cake. Definitely not like any biscuit I had ever had. I love biscuits and gravy and was thinking about getting them and am so glad I didn't as it would have been very disappointing. I didn't detect any parmesan in the parmesan hash browns. Overall I always ask myself if I would come back to a restaurant that I haven't been to before. This one I would have to so I probably wouldn't return unless someone else was wanting to go there. Met out of town friends for brunch at the Midtown location. With children we were a group of six. My wife suggested the seating at the S Virginia St location would be more accommodating but being hard headed we put our name on the list where we were. We watched as multiple groups of four were seated around us at emptying tables, hostess unwilling to let a table sit empty for a couple of minutes so they could slide two together. Wife ended up helping out and we were able to work it out in the end, don't know how long we would have stood if we hadn't engaged. Why did I wait so long to try this place? A good friend of mine (a Two Chick's "regular") invited me here for breakfast....I didn't know what to order so she suggested we split a side order of biscuits and gravy and split the "Gour'melt Benedict". I also ordered a coffee (delicious). The biscuits and gravy came out quickly and I was impressed with the flavor and texture (I'm normally not a biscuits and gravy person but this dish was good). The Gour'melt Benedict with hash browns was amazing and is something I would order again. The portions were ample and I left comfortably full and satisfied. Went here before heading back to Sacramento. The place was amazing. From the outside it looks small and cozy. But once you go through the doors it's huge. Bright and very cozy. My mom and I had the chicken fried steak and eggs. Their Parmesan hash browns were out of this world. I had them smothered on their HOMEMADE sausage gravy which was very very flavorful! My step dad had the ham steak and eggs. It was HUGE piece of ham. Toast and has browns. He said it was absolutely outstanding! If you're looking for a hidden gem while visiting Reno this place.
