We are in Reno in need of breakfast... so I check the yelp reviews and I see this place with a great rating, and decide to come! I did notice a review that said the line moved fast, and since it's a Sunday morning, this was important! The place is suuuuuuper cute. There is a stand on the side of the front door called "Side Chick" where you can get your alcoholic aperitif before breakfast, so they have bloody Maries, and mimosas, and some other goodies to pick from at $9 most! We got a bloody Hawaiian Mary and a screwdriver to get going and they were both flavorful and plentiful for our wait! Then we checked and we're already number 2 in line after a 18 minute wait, not bad... and they called us in. (Lived the line feature where you could see how many parties were ahead of you!) Anyway in we went, got the menu and it was fun and whimsically "chick" themed as the rest of the place... we learned that drinking can be good for the community as they have a Champaign drive that has so far raised over $41,k !! Good to go! As far as food: loved they had a 1/2 a Benedict menu so I tried that: I got the Caprese Benny... sooo good! Was not expecting it to be sweet ( balsamic vinegar was sweet and thick) but it went really well with the caprese under the egg! Perfection and the right size too: I don't leave my food, I take it to sometimes throw it later, so this size was great for me! He got the biscuits and gravy combo which was plenty for his hearty appetite. I tried the gour-melt bene with the Parmesan hashbrowns and a side of chicken apple sausage. I am not big on sausage gravy, so this was perfect for me. Topped with the bacon chunks, it was delicious. The hashdrowns paired very well with it. I also had the peachy keen mocktail. The first time I had it was very hot outside, so it was refreshing. Good showed up. The French toast was perfect. Toppings were not too sweet and the portion size was right. That's the good. The meh, well. Order came out with the wrong sausage. When I mentioned it the waitress said, "we don't have links anymore" and walked away. Led to a disagreement with my meal mate where I pointed out that I specifically ordered links and pointed to them on the menu when the waitress asked how many patties I wanted. Located in the fun part of midtown Reno, Two Chicks is in the area where you can shop in boutiques, sip at the wine bar or grab some Mexican food. This spot is very popular. They have a cool app that tells you where you are in the pecking order (sorry couldn't resist) once you have checked into the reception area. Our wait was about 45 minutes. Since there are shops nearby, I killed some time and supported the local economy by buying a few things for myself at all the surrounding shops. I ordered their chilaquiles ($14.49) which came with two eggs any style, housemade pico de gallo, sour cream and chorizo sausage. OMG. I loved the chips! They tasted housemade with an ancho chili sauce coating. Another friend ordered the same but with vegan sausage which she said tasted amazing. The interior is colorful with humorous merch selling T-shirts reading "How To Pick Up Chicks", "Rise & Shine Motherclucker" - you get the gist. Since I have been changing up my eating habits, I don't eat red meat anymore, this is actually a great place to go. I love an eggs Benedict, but I cannot have the Canadian bacon. Also, I have reduce my carbon intake by 99%.This place has quite a few options for eggs Benedict without red meat and plenty of options to replace the muffins for tomatoes or vegetable fritters. also, I really like my coffee extremely hot. Every time I visit here, I asked the server to put hot water in my coffee cup first, dump the hot water, then fill it with hot coffee. They always seem to do this with no issue. these are huge cups, and I cannot drink them fast enough, and when the coffee gets down about halfway, it's not hot enough. Usually the server will take the cup and heat it in the microwave for 30 seconds. The waitress this time said they did not have a microwave... But she did opt to replace the coffee with a fresh cup reheated like earlier. I planned on taking the coffee to go, so it was not a waste. especially when you get coffee to taste perfect... Don't want to start over lol. What we ordered: Cup of Joe Traditional eggs Benedict Eggs Benedict on vegetable fritters with a side of tomatoes. The food only took a few minutes, the vegetable fritters were a little bit under done. But they still taste quite good. In contrast, the Parmesan hashbrowns or actually a little overdone lol. I don't get to go out to breakfast very often, so when some friends came into town and wanted a good breakfast, I jumped at the chance to go to Two Chicks. Because it was a weekday, we were greeted at the door and seated right away. I have been there on the weekends, and it's not surprising to have to wait, but it's worth it. My friends ordered Arnold Palmers to drink, and I ordered decaf coffee. Their drinks arrived promptly, but my coffee took quite a while to arrive However, it was fresh and hot when it did come. We placed our orders, and they arrived after a reasonable wait. I ordered the Chili Relleno Omelette with their veggie fritters ($14.29), while my friends ordered the Eggs Benedict with parmesan hash browns ($14.79), a one-egg breakfast with chorizo ($9.79), and for my non-breakfast lover, the Italian Melt ($14.99). The Italian Melt and the Chili Relleno Omelette were excellent and did not disappoint. However, the Eggs Benedict and the one-egg breakfast just missed the mark, mostly because of the sides. The parmesan hash browns didn't have enough parmesan, in fact, my friend wasn't sure they had any, and the chorizo patty was overcooked. Oh well, you can't win every time. Sadly, this time around was a little different. It was six of us so I knew making reservations was the way to go . I ordered the French toast meal and I have to say they were very hard and not that warm. I do not recommend the French toast at all! My kids enjoyed their kids breakfast pretty simple stuff bacon, and eggs it was good for them . My parents both got the meals that came with pancakes they said it was good ! My husband got the eggs Benedict meal he said it was ok not the best but okay. The lady that helped us she was very nice and attentive. The only thing I didn't like I felt very rushed. She gave us our bill in the middle of us eating we were not even sure if we were done ordering anything else . We were just trying to enjoy our breakfast when we got hit with a bill on our table . This place gets really packed which is understandable since It's a breakfast popular spot in Reno . They have two restrooms so you have to wait in line for them not to be occupied. Another thing I have to say is they had no seat covers in the restrooms I had to pretty much create my own, since it was not that clean to begin with. Overall, I really wanted to give this place a higher rating since I love that its a woman own restaurant and it has been very successful.
