Stopped in on a Boulder/Denver overnight and was excited to find open mic night! We enjoyed the music throughout the meal and some beers. The atmosphere is relaxing with a huge game room as well. The staff seemed to be running around and understaffed but overall, they took decent care of everyone. We started with the nachos and when we asked for plates, our waiter told us they were all out and he brought us bowls... which was strange. When we ordered a flight of 5, they came back with 3 and told us they were out of the other 2 and we had to pick different beers. The pizza was fantastic. The CBR and Omnivore were both cooked perfectly with a thin base and a larger crust. We loved both of them and my captain enjoyed his CBR sandwich. Overall, I wanted to give this cool brewery 5 stars but they seemed to be very overwhelmed and couldn't even keep their beer and plates stocked. read more

I stopped in on the way back to the hotel for a nightcap. Food looked great, but I just had the one beer and what a beer it was. I sat at the bar and it's a nice space. Comfy, very laid back, not much for parking. I chose the Billy's Chilies, a "chili wheat" and did so without taking a sample first. HOT! I've never had a beer that actually made me sweat. This is no "session" beer. Have one and you're done. Made with five or so different peppers including jalapeno and habanero, it was like beer-flavored hot sauce or hot sauce flavored beer. Loved. It. Great food and great atmosphere! Everything I've tried so far has been wonderful, food and beverage wise. This visit we tried a beer flight and the vegetarian pizza. Also, there beers are gluten reduced due to their brewing process (I believe), which is great for those who have gluten sensitivities such as myself. :) read more

Here are the ones I tried: Clowder: American Style IPA 3.5/5- citrusy, hoppy and delicious Apricot in the Act: Sour 4.5/5- apricot delicious sour magic. really enjoyed this one! Lime Lite Gose- Sour Gose 4/5- super limey and super sour Pathfinder- American Pale Ale 3.5/5 -hazy hoppy ipa Nitro Big Shot- Stout; Coffee 2/5- decent, but not as strong as I prefer or was hoping for. Hit this one on a cloudy rainy cool spring day in Boulder. The leaves were out and it looked lush outside. The brewery was set up long ways. They had lots of good souvenirs, and their emblem looks cool. It was pretty crowded and it's mostly college aged and older. I got the Recreational Wheat beer which tasted buttery smooth. Very good Wheat beer. Classic taste. I also got the 10% abu Luopolo, which is adverted as a melon double ipa. The double ipa was indeed strong, with over 100 ibu. It was fairly between the fruit and hop flavor, a little more on the hop side of things. The pizza was tasty and unexpectedly good. The cheese has a solid taste but was a little greasy. The marinara sauce was delicious and spot on. Has a east coast taste. read more

When you go on vacation there is always one place or experience that kind of embodies the trip. That was this place for me. Parking was kind of funky. I parked in front of a therapist's office next door, which was totally okay. No signs prohibited it. There is a patio area, then a winding walkway into the building. Just follow the signs that say "enter" You order, drinks, food, merch, all at a counter and head to a table. You get a buzzer if you order food. It was an eclectic mix at 4:30PM on a Monday. Some students were studying, a couple was there with the munchies and even some guys who slinked out of thier office jobs early for a drink. I snagged the special Sweet Heet which was perfect! My companion got a Lager that was nice and crisp. They had quite a few great options, so it was no easy choice. The nachos were delicious, and ample. They had fresh jalapenos and came on a hot plate. Really enjoyed them. This place just embodied the easy going trip as a whole on my first vacation in almost a year. If you are around, check this out! read more

The beer was great but the pizza was expensive and terrible. I ordered the meatball parm personal pizza for $16 and it was so bland. I tried to spice it up with red pepper, parm cheese and extra marinara sauce (which was cold and not that great) but with the bland pizza crust, cheese and sliced meatball, it still didn't remedy it. I almost didn't eat the last piece but I was hungry so I ate it because it was food. My husband also agreed that his margarita pizza was terrible. I didn't try it but he tried mine and said my pizza was worse. We are so disappointed that we spent so much money on a bad meal. We were kicking ourselves for not going to Proto's instead, which has exceptional pizza dough and toppings, and a better salad. read more

Seeking out a brewery in Boulder for a quick bite and craft beers, we found this and were happy with our choice! There are multiple breweries in the area. Quite a few are on Pearl St, which is a foot traffic only retail area. Being they are in this area, they were quite busy. So we searched out further from that area and decided to try this place based on Yelp reviews. Super casual atmosphere with some nice mellow music. It was nice to just sit and take in the scenery and enjoy a relaxing afternoon. At our table, we had a stromboli (husband) and he said it was really good. It also was quite large. We also had buffalo chicken wraps - kids both approved. I had the mediterranean salad and added beer poached chicken breast (for $1.50!! - so reasonable!). The salad (large) was the perfect size. It came with a pesto dressing, tasty and different. My son had the side salad size of the house salad and like it as well. It came with balsamic, which was good. Seeing what was delivered to others, the mac and cheese and pizza both looked good and were both a good serving size. My husband liked their beer. If I were local, I could see this being a regular spot for a casual quick bite. read more

We have been enjoying Twisted Pine Brewery for many years. I thought I had done a review but hadn't and it's way overdue! This is the best brewery in Boulder by far! First, the beer: They have an amazing selection, and they all are impeccable brews, but I do really like the Raspberry Rising (a raspberry wheat beer) and the Rokkin' Roggen, which is a beer based on rye and it's so good. Different but easy to drink and never lasts long enough! I always get a 'crowler' to go for later. And then the food: great beer is best served with great food and I'm telling you, no one makes better pizzas than this brewery. They also do a very good selection of wings and really good salads and, of course, large soft pretzels! This is why we come here at least once a week. Great beer and great food to go with it. Ambiance: this is a real brewery! It has the outside beer garden area, it has a huge inside area, and they have lots of TVs for sporting events. And the people that work here are so friendly and always willing to help you select a perfect beer. read more

The tasters are 4oz, so plenty for the two of us to split and get an adequate read on the beers. Lots of beers and styles to choose from. Probably 20 or so on tap. My favorite was Alternative Facts - imperial brown ale aged in Four Roses Bourbon barrels. Yes, please!! Hubby liked the Hop Zealot IPA the best. We also tried the Northstar imperial porter, big shot coffee stout, and acavera (?) pale ale. All were very good!! In a small industrial park area. Not fancy (just our style). Nice covered outdoor patio as well as a decent indoor space. Service was efficient and mostly friendly. Would come here again if back in Boulder. read more

This is a great place to have a beer (or two) and a meal after a long day of work. Stopped in for dinner one evening and we had great food. The parmesan bread was tasty enough to begin with, but the customized mac and cheese with bacon and the chicken was really yummy. Couple that with great beers - solid IPA (Hop Zealot), for example, and you have a winner. This was my second stop to try some local beers while visiting Boulder for the first time. I enjoyed my beers so much I scrapped plans to check out other places that night, ate dinner there and watched Monday Night Football. All day happy hour in Monday's didn't hurt. I started with a beer sampler. Enjoyed all the beers, but especially the hoppy ones. Bring from NorCal I am lucky enough to enjoy some of the greatest IPAs regularly. This place could hand with the breweries back home. That being said, the showstopper was the imperial porter aged in Four Roses bourbon barrels. How did they get barrels from such a great distillery? I don't know but I'm happy they did. This was one of the best beers I've had in a while. I would have enjoyed a few more if it wasn't 12%. The pizza I ordered was good. Not the best, but with that beer to accompanying it who cares. It was better than s lot of places. I went back for lunch the second day. If I ever go back to Boulder this will be my first stop for sure! read more

You will find this brewery in a subtle strip center located at one end of the mall. The brewery/restaurant is nothing special on the outside so don't let this turn you away. The service was friendly and helpful. We ordered the Nachos with guacamole. The chips arrived nice and hot....but that is were the good news ends. The nachos had cheese that covered about 5 chips. We believe they forgot to put the queso on.....how? Its nachos....only a few ingredients required. Eventually we asked our waiter for queso and salsa. The waiter never apologized for the bad nachos but did get us what we asked for. The two beers that we ordered were good. The Pale Ale was not too hoppy and the Stout was as described. The food and beer are good but the cleanliness is lacking. The restrooms need a deep cleaning and so does behind the TV. It is loaded with cobwebs (please see photos attached). Love this place! Discovered it's very close to where I work and my boyfriend and I decided to try it when we had friends from Florida visiting us for the weekend. The place is a decent size, and we got there around 3 so before it started filling up. They have a great beer selection, the food is SO good and they've got games to play while you're drinking too. We played trivia games in between sipping our beers and eating our chips and dip we got. The cheesy bread is especially good...it disappeared fast in our group! They've also got TV's where they regularly have hockey/football/etc up for those who enjoy it. Overall this place is nice and kind of tucked away, NOT on the insanely busy Pearl street where you have to pay for parking, the staff was very friendly and beer selection is great! I absolutely love this place. Was in town for Great American Beer Festival and come over to Boulder. Between the great beer and the bartenders I could have sat there all day. The pizza was also outstanding. While you are there, I highly recommend trying to Ghost Face Killer beer. It will definitely clear out your sinuses, but 100% worth the taste. The sour beer is also outstanding. Overall, I highly recommend this place. There is also a porch out front and a great game area in the back with lots of space and a TV. My husband and I were like...we don't have any complaints! We were happy to find this gem after a day of hiking. It started off well with free parking! Everyone we've interacted with has been friendly and all servers check on you, so no long wait for placing an order. The beer menu is hefty and we loved the Hop Zealot and Pathfinder! The fig pizza was YUM and the caprese was good and light. One thing we really appreciated were the acoustics! The music was complimentary and not overbearing, and loud tables weren't bothersome. There are just enough TVs without being too much. We would come back (if we had the luxury of living here!)! read more
