They ripped me off and it's not the first time. I ordered extra tofu and extra vegetables and they sent me the standard order. When I called about it, they told me to get a refund from DoorDash and when I reminded them that DoorDash had nothing to do with their shorting me, they told me they would issue a refund. The next day, I received a $5 refund from DoorDash, but the meal cost me $23.50. They've done this before so I don't think anyone should be ordering from them because they're unethical and regularly rip people off. What they need to understand is that while their food is good, it's not THAT good and they have plenty of competition from restaurants that are every bit as good and from whom I will order because I'll never order from Twisted Noodle again. Unbelievable. I didn't want to go to this place in Durham because I had a very subpar inauthentic exper. yrs ago at the Chapel H. local. My daughter insisted, so we just tried the Summer Rolls & the Spring Rolls. It started off bad when he said he wasn't sure if they had the Shrimp Sum. Rolls. End up w/ Tofu ones & the Spring Rolls. Totally cutting corners w/ cheap weird inauthentic ing. I am a gourmet cook & made Thai Fd & use 2 reknowned ck bks. We realized after being very puzzled and way too polite that that none of these rolls had the thin rice noodles in them instead thinly shredded steamed cabbage to try to pass off as rice n. He didn't give me any lettuce which was pictured in the menu. for the Spring R. That is a Thai standard & he tried to chatter away that it is "just in the picture" so yeah, I'd need that that is how it is authentic & pictured. The chatter about the Shrimp Rolls in the beginning was enough to start things off wrong. He said the chef made just so many & was not going to make any more. (I think he wanted us to order a $17 entree) The final blow was the sauce for the Summer rolls was totally puzzling & I think it was 1/3 Kraft Italian Dressing-hardly any peanut soy flavor. HOW? WHY? Way disappointed. The pad see ew was overcooked (noodles mushy and breaking apart, broccoli not crisp/soggy) and it was topped with A LOT of black pepper. Weird. There was no dark brown sauce/oyster sauce really present which left the dish with almost no flavor at all. Also ordered the panang curry. I could taste no evidence of lemongrass or kaffir lime leaves which are hallmarks of the dish. I literally opened a can of panang paste and pulled some lime leaves out of my freezer to hopefully salvage the dish (I know, I should have just made it at home if I had all of that...lol). All in all, quite sad about my order. I have had repeated success at the Chapel Hill Twisted Noodles, however. It took a bit of time to get my menu but I understood the struggles of owning a restaurant with good food. The menu featured all of the legit Thai dishes you could think of. I was so surprised to see my favorite on there -- Rad Na! It's basically noodles topped with a gravy like sauce. This is rare to find in the area. It was amazing! The sauce was very balanced with sweetness, tartness, and saltiness. I also ordered the chicken green curry which was on point too. The portion was big enough for 2-3 people to share. We came in around 12 on the frigid Saturday, when the restaurant was completely empty (people trickled in as we were eating). Eventually someone came out of the kitchen, then we were seated. Everyone was very friendly and the food was incredible. The tom kha, panang curry, and twisted crying tiger was more than enough food for three people. The tom kha is perfect for anyone looking for a light, savory, and lemon grass toward broth- it does great with a bit of rice in the broth as well. The panang curry had an almost soupy sauce that coated the chicken, vegetables and rice perfectly. The twisted crying tiger was grilled marinated beef served on lettuce with a lime sauce. Eating the beef with the sauce and lettuce is a great combo that balances the richness of the beef, but eating the lettuce and beef separately makes a great side salad. We left with full stomachs and good moods- ideal for dealing with unexpected frigid temperatures and a sprinkling of snow in the middle of March. read more

Last night, we swung by this place for dinner before going to Duke for a night time stroll. We arrived at 7pm on a Sunday night and there was only 1 other table which was occupied although this place got a lot of take out orders. Inside, the lighting creates an intimate setting and it is very laid back. There is a nice huge fish tank with some bright and colorful fishes swimming around. As for food, just for checking in on Yelp for the first time at this place, you get a choice of free appetizer with 2 entrees. The appetizer is limited to a few choices but still a good list. We ordered the summer rolls with tofu. As for entrees, we ordered the Twisted Sauté Noodles and Rad Na, both under their Stir Fry Noodles section. We enjoyed both. The noodles in Twisted Sauté Noodles was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. This is what comes to mind when I picture amazing stir fried flat noodles. For the Rad Na, I really liked the brown gravy which was very savory and I imagine it would go perfectly on a warm bed of white rice. The Asian broccoli on the Rad Na was also very tender and tasty. Amazing Thai food in the Durham area! I don't think the opening hours are accurate, because I did try coming here on a weekend for lunch, only to find out that the place was still closed. However, as aforementioned, the food here is consistently delicious. I love the thai chili and ginger main entrees. Normally, I get shrimp, which adds an extra 2.50 to my orders. Apart from Thai on Main Street (which is another great option IMO for Thai Food), I'd very easily recommended Twisted Noodles for anyone in the area who's craving Thai. read more

Food: - drunken noodles with tofu (medium spicy): great balance of spice with a little bit of sweet, wish the vegetables were steamed through a little more. Really liked the bamboo and onion. Would definitely order again. - yellow curry noodles with chicken (medium spicy): curry taste was very subtle, would have enjoyed more of it. Chicken was a little tough. The total came out to just around $25, which is reasonable for 3 entrees. Pickup experience: Our food was ready 15-20 minutes after placing the order by phone. The restaurant had a long table set out with all of the takeout orders set our in a row. I walked in, told them my name and they handed me my order. They had 2 separate cups of pens to sign the receipt - one cup for the sanitized pens and one for the used pens. All the staff members were wearing mask. First visit to this establishment and I admit I was skeptical. We were greeted by a friendly yet reserved man. There were a smattering of diners and a regular stream of people picking up take out. A variety of appetizing smells were coming from the kitchen as we went thru the menu. I decided to try a small bowl of vegetable soup and the chicken satay appetizer that comes with a peanut sauce and side of cucumber salad. My spouse ordered the crispy fried sweet and sour chicken with steamed rice. We remained skeptical waiting for our food, but when it arrived it looked delicious and it was! Plus the serving size was very generous. The soup was wonderful and that small bowl was anything but. If that's small, a large would feed two or more! I decided if a cold comes around this soup would be the perfect medicine. The chicken satay (4 skewers) was tender with a hint of curry flavor and the peanut dipping sauce had a tad of coconut that really made it addicting. It was fantastic! The cucumber salad was so good, but a teeny tiny portion and left me wanting more. The crispy fried sweet and sour chicken was a huge portion and was really tasty. We've been in this area several times, but I don't remember seeing Twisted Noodles until today. I'm glad we found it. The place is a bit dark, but we were seated by the fish tank, which lightened things up a bit. The yellow curried noodles with chicken were fantastic. I got a spice level 3 of 5, but I think I'll go with a 2 next time. It was so big, I took half home. My friend got the Sautéed Thai Pepper with chicken and ate the whole thing. He ordered a level 4 spice, but said it was more like 2. Our server was friendly and kept our water glasses full. We got two free Thai rolls for checking in. First things first: on a scale of 1-5 on the spice-meter, a 4 was a zero to me. So I recommend you go with 5 if you want even the merest of spice-tingles. And I'm not a capsaicin-huffing madwoman. I'm an average different-cuisine-dabbling white person from a big city and usually order a 2 or 3. I thought their eggplant-cooking technique was excellent - they got them softened but not soggy, coated them in ground pork, and festooned them with fresh shrimp. This dish was great. Again, in no way spicy - but great. This place is great! My family has been coming here for years, and we all really enjoyed it. They even catered my dad's last milestone birthday, which was a big hit with the crowd. Most recently I ate here with three friends. Almost all of us got pad thai or drunken noodles. The portion sizes are generous and the food is delicious.
