Seeing the high ratings we drove 25 mins to get here !! The steamed gyoza were yum the wonton soup wasn't too bad !! But the 'forest fire' curry was like veggies in a broth or like a larger bowl of the wonton soup so packed it to have as soup for dinner !! And ordered a Thai basil fried rice which was not too bad but The lady serving us looked pretty fed up of life and packed the rice to go instead and when we told her we wanted to eat it she just opened the box and gave us a spoon price was a bit on the higher side for a casual eatery read more

We dropped in and had a few of our usual so - Tom Kha, Larb with pork, Pad Sew Ew. The food was perfectly adequate, but sadly nothing more. It's been a while since we have been here, and it looks like they were doing a brisk takeout business but not a lot of dine-in. All the more reason to wonder why our food was not fresher/crisper. The dining room is in need of a refresh - the table cloths were worn and torn, as were the seats. The 'open kitchen' was blocked by stacks of takeout containers, etc. Overall, looking very old and tired. read more

I had eaten here with friends previously and liked it and, seeing the mostly good reviews, decided to order takeaway one night this week. It was extremely disappointing! Pad Thai came in a cold, tasteless lump, with large, anemic chunks of tofu underneath. Drunken Noodles portion was small, and barely seasoned. Both items had a weird, unpleasant aftertaste. Will go elsewhere for Thai food read more

I have personally never been a fan of Thai food, but this place has changed my opinion. I got the Rad Na and it was delicious! Thick cut noodles, tender pieces of beef and a lot of broccoli. The main staff member that greeted me and got my food was extremely friendly and when I asked for a special sauce he went out of my way to go into the kitchen to get it for me. I will be back! read more

Vegetarian: I had the Twisted Thai Rolls for an appetizer and the Massaman Curry as an entree. All of the curries can be meatless so those will definitely be my go-to dishes here. This dish was sweet, savory, and super filling. The serving size is huge and I had leftovers for days. There are also vegetarian Stir-Fry dishes. I can safely recommend this for any vegetarian. Vegan: They have rice noodles so there are also vegan options. Service: Service is fast and friendly. Overall: I'll be back here for sure. read more

Twisted noodles is not amazing, but here we are, in Durham, boldly suffering on in the face of a quality South East Asian food crisis. In light of such paucity, I eat here probably twice a week which is a testament to three things: its near proximity to my house, my dependance on asian food for survival, and the fact that in its mediocrity it is still SO MUCH BETTER THAN THAI CAFE. Also, despite eating here with alarming regularity, the staff have never once acknowledged that they recognize me. I'm strangely charmed by the aloof formality. I return to the same dishes over and over: Drunken Noodles, Tom Kha, Tom Yum, Thai Spicy salad (beef), Panang curry, Yellow curry, and the fried spring rolls. Some days they're better than others, but never has their food inspired rage. Unlike Thai Cafe. I'm irritated just thinking about Thai Cafe. read more

Wow! My boyfriend ordered for me Pad Thai with shrimp and it was BOMB I couldnt eat it right away bc I was busy. I left it in the box for 1 thinking "dang! Its gonna be soggy when I dig in" but NOOOO!!! The noodles are so soft and chewy, just the way I like it! I finished the whole thing. Visited for the first time today. Really enjoyed food, but staff etiquette left a LOT to be desired. We arrived around 2:25, to which we were promptly made aware that they closed at 3 (and reopening at 5). The staff actually turned a woman away that came in (by herself) about 10 minutes after us! We finished eating by 3, but appetizer and entrees arrived together, and dessert was put on our table while we were still eating. read more

Everyone here at the Durham location is so friendly and informed about different dietary situations to navigate around. Definitely down with vegan and gluten free - they always make a point of asking when we call! Not my favorite Thai food I've had, but feeling confident my meal is vegan and gf means it's a takeout staple in our home. Also, they've gone above and beyond with covid precautions to make sure their patrons stay safe. read more

We went for lunch, I was seeking Pho, so should have gone to a Vietnamese restaurant, but twisted noodles came up on yelp search for best Pho in Durham. I ordered the beef noodle soup, which was ok, but not Pho. My wife hade the Pad Thai, which she thought was very good. She would give 4 stars, but I am writing the review. I plan to go back to try Thai dishes, such as the whole fish. Maybe I can upgrade my review. read more

Ordered mild Chix Pad Thai thru Uber Eats. Came quickly so no issues there. Took one bite and my lips and mouth started burning. Threw the whole thing out as I can't handle that kind of heat. I'd hate to think what thai hot feels like. Also ordered shrimp summer rolls. Worst roll job I've ever seen. Didn't even attempt to roll it. Rice paper was so thin it immediately broke when I tried to pick it up. Not likely to try again. read more

Was helping a friend in the area so decided to check this place out. First off nice place. Very friendly staff. I had the satay and spring roll appetizers both made really well. I also had the Phrik Khing curry. Which was also made really well. There are many gluten free options just make your server aware and they will take care if you. For instance the standard dipping sauce that comes with spring rolls is not GF so they substituted a sauce that was lighter and in my opinion better suited for the lightness of the spring roll. Every dish brought to he table was accompanied with the server indicating they ensured it was GF. All in all great experience. Would definitely go back when next in area. read more

I just had 40 mins to grab lunch while doing a seminar for work down the street. Several people were there, so it seemed popular. The service was fast and friendly. I was out the door in 30 mins. I ordered the chicken Pad Thai from the lunch menu. It came with a fried spring roll and dipping sauce. The Pad Thai was (temperature) hot but had little flavor and no spice. I'm guessing they make dishes to suit "American" palates. I ate almost all of it bc it was cold outside and the warm food was comforting. I would probably only go back if I was in a hurry again, and if I did I would definitely ask for the cook to amp up the flavor/spice. read more

Went in for lunch and I was the only one so there service was quick. They got pretty small lunch menu to choose from so I for the regular sized plates. Drunken noodles hardly go wrong at any place so I went with safe option. Unfortunately, they aren't good as it looks. The noodles looked okay but the vegetables used were not tasting fresh. Tofu was so damn hard as it was over fried but even when you chew it, it was more like a dry chewing gum and you can tell it isn't fresh either. I'm pretty sure it was fried and frozen couple of days ago and they just re heated today. Quality and quantity doesn't justify the price at all. Not going there again. read more

I went with a group of 10 on a Saturday evening at around 6:45pm. There was plenty of parking space. Walking in, I was hit with the smell of Thai food because of the open kitchen. That evening, the restaurant was packed and my party was seated in 30 min. I ordered the larb pork salad and the mango sticky rice and the food came out at a decent time. I've eaten here before and they have a lot of great dishes (the curries, fried rices, spicy pork eggplant), but this larb was not one of them. The toasted rice was too hard and needed to be toasted longer- resulting in an uncomfortable texture when eating the larb. I've had a lot of larb in other places before and the pork needed to be browned much more. In addition, there was slightly too much fish sauce, overpowering the salad. In contrast, the mango sticky rice phenomenal. It was perfect in texture and flavor and despite the messy (not visually appealing) look, it was amazing. Overall, I will come back here again because of all my previous positive experiences. However, I won't be getting the pork larb salad again. read more

This restaurant is worth the 30 minutes drive from Cary. The fried tofu dumplings, Thai fried rice and Drunken noodles were very tasty. The Tom Yum soup wasn't as flavorful and had a bit of a sweet taste. We probably wouldn't be getting that next time. The prices are very reasonable and we'll definitely be returning again for more. read more

"Decent Thai, reasonably priced" Came here again this past weekend. My family and I tend to come here more often than the alternative, Thai Cafe, because the prices are lower here. For example, my favorite noodle dish (pad see ewe) is $8.95 at Twisted Noodles but $10.95 at Thai Cafe (or up to $12.95 if you have it with meat). I've never tried dishes from the two places side-by-side, but I think Christina G. may be right that the quality is a little bit higher at Thai Cafe. Still, I like Twisted Noodles' pad see ewe a lot, and am happy to save $2-4 (plus associated tax and tip) while getting it when the quality difference for that dish is not noticeable to me. Other dishes we like here include the pad thai (1000x better than the pad thai at Chai's, which is not even as good as the Annie Chun's box you can get from Target), the tom kha soup (coconut milk goodness!), and some of the appetizers. I often ask for a side of peanut sauce, for which they add a small but reasonable charge. Portion sizes are good- not "huge" but certainly satisfying. Setting is fine- it's not a big place, but it's got a nice, big aquarium my kids like looking at. Lighting is on the dim side. Service tends to be friendly and is usually very fast- we got our food within 10 minutes of ordering last Saturday. Cleanliness is decent- not perfect but not unacceptable... I'm not completely surprised they have gotten weak sanitation scores occasionally given the restroom sometimes seems under-maintained. Still, not "bad" by any means. Overall, I waiver between 3 and 4 stars, but I'll round up given a very nice visit this past weekend. Is it the best Thai in Durham? Probably not. But the food is significantly less expensive, the quality is satisfactory (good for some dishes), and the service is very fast (and reasonably friendly). read more

If I rated this place four months ago, it would've been four stars. Their Tom Yum soup is poor, especially now that I've learned to make my own. Watery broth seasoned with fish sauce (aka: MSG), barely any tomatoes/mushrooms/etc, and shrimp costs extra. The menu lacks vegetables majorly. Noodle dishes are oily and pad thai is made with ketchup. I don't know, my last visit pushed me over the edge. Big bill for poor food. A lack of good tom yum soup in Durham forced me to learn to make my own. Next I'll learn to make my own pad thai and drunken noodles. read more

Good food great fast service. 3 stars coz we recently went to Thailand and feel in love with the food esp their curries and my favorite a dish called tigers cry. Wondering if we could get a place here to Durham to fill out the void of the Thai trip we we're very excited to see Twisted Noodles have the exact items on their menu. Don't get it wrong, the food in itself is good would have given it close to 4 stars but we knew the stark difference from the original dish. Came here for lunch. Lunch special price for Pad Thai is $8.25 and comes with an egg roll (that's right, JUST one, what a teaser). Also chose a free appetizer (Tofu Delight) from a selected list in order to use the Yelp check-in deal [always love these unexpected deals - thank you Yelp!]. Pad Thai is not as flavorful as what I'm familiar with, but it's good. Tofu Delight is nice and crispy, comes with 8 pieces. Staff is attentive and friendly. Plenty of parking in the lot. read more

I've been here a few times. I'm not sure I've ordered anything besides the drunken noodles and soup. On each occasion, including this one, the food has been excellent. The other food looks and smells great, but I can't pull myself away from the noodles. The Thai iced tea was pretty good too. I had a slight aftertaste of instant tea, but it was still good. It's kind of a smaller place, but I've never had issues getting a seat here. The service is fast and accurate. I'd certainly recommend this place to anyone! read more

Except the server was pushy, obnoxious, and clearly trying to hustle us out the door the ENTIRE time we were ordering/eating (even though they seated two groups after they seated us!). The server was overbearing, barely spoke English (virtually incomprehensible, fast, and garbled), and hovered around the table trying to take plates when people were nowhere near finished. Perhaps the ******* server doesn't know that when you list a closing hour it does not mean you stampede guests out the door at one minute past that time??? I told him on the way out I'd leave a terrible review, and I'm a man of my word LOL. About the food--well, the Thai basil is mediocre with huge chunks of Perdue-type 'chicken' and not enough basil *or* onion; the red curry is sourish and rather vinegary; the mussaman curry is tasteless. The tom ka gai is watery with a very odd aftertaste. The Thai iced tea is reasonably good. LOL! DO NOT go to this restaurant--virtually any other Thai place in the Triangle is superior.

The restaurant's unique handmade paintings on walls and other Philippino decor was very eclectic and cool. They had a hand painted mural of the famous Chef Anthony Bourdain Which was cool but he's from New York so I'll have to ask the owner about that next time I come back. Lol The place was packed and we were walk ins but the owner was at the reception desk and told us to wait and she might be able to find us a table. We were in luck and she directed us to the back room. The server was extremely knowledgeable about all the dishes. Since I had my Philippino friend along she told us what she liked as well as the helpful server. The food was delicious and had a beautiful presentation. What I ate I can't pronounce so look at my pics of the menu ;) I had a bowl w beef filet, onions, tomatoes, cucumber lining the bowl w Jasmine rice and a fried egg on top. It was also seafood which is always a bit more it was fair. The food was prepared quickly and was hot on pickup. The parking lot is a little tight and it is easy to miss it if you don't look carefully but it was cute inside. We might have to eat there next time. Worth a trip if you live in the area for sure. It will likely be our new regular spot.
