This place is inside the gas station.. we drove around it at least twice before figuring it out. The food was ac pretty good. The mango lasso was a good portion and tasty. Samosas were quite good. The butter chicken was a bit too sweet, but ok.and the garlic naan was good and a large portion. Ambiance wasn't great being inside the gas station, but I guess it works for them. My coworker and I often talk about new places we find and this week he mentioned an Indian food place inside a gas station. Wait, what? Let's go check it out! When you get there you can see that they've converted part of the Chevron gas station mart thing to a seating area. You order at the counter and then wait for your food. It's not fast by any means. It's pretty good though. A little too tomatoey (if that's a word) for my taste but not bad. I ordered medium heat but probably should have asked for spicy. I go with the 4.5 overall Yelp rating. I went with the chicken tikka masala with garlic naan based on the photo in Liz C's review. I was immediately impressed by the positive 'welcome in, let's do this' energy by the staff. Whoever owns the place is definitely overseeing the quality of the food. Speaking of the food, I should start by saying, I'm an uneducated Indian food critic. I can't compare one chicken masala to another. What I can do, is tell you what I like based on my food taste preferences. The sauce in the chicken masala was an India version of gravy and delicious. I went with spice level 3 and wish I'd hade gone with 6. The naan was good, but I wish had more garlic flavor. I was expecting more of a tortilla, bready, chewy consistency instead of the paperish thin version of what I got. Again, I'm not sure this is a fair comparison. My apologies for not being a better Indian food critic. I can say one thing with confidence, if you like Indian food and know what you're doing, you'll 100% like this place. Delivery came to our hotel, requested a text / call upon arrival. After well over the anticipated delivery time, we were heading to the lobby to see if it was perhaps left there. Lo and behold! Left at our door without a text / call or knock. Also conveniently came without a fork, plate or napkin... To a hotel room. All of this after a tip, service charge, and delivery fee were tacked on to the bill at a cost of almost 50% of the food total. Food was cold, but fine. Bummer. read more

We were surprised that this restaurant is in a gas station but we were not disappointed. The food is delicious! We ordered the chicken curry, butter chicken, paneer with spinach and garlic naan. All of the entrees come with rice. We asked for everything to be mild--that being said, the chicken curry still had a kick to it. I've not had paneer but my friend who ordered it, and is a vegetarian, said it was delicious. The garlic naan is amazing--lots of flavor and chewy in texture. The butter chicken was the winner here. We also ordered the chai tea and mango lassi. I would prefer my chai to be spicier but that's just my preference. The mango lassi was creamy but I wish that it was colder. The workers were so friendly and helpful. They also brought us our food (there's seating inside the gas station!). Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely go there again! read more

When I got my food to go, the staff was friendly. The place does charge $.83 more. If you use your credit card, I wish they would've told me. I'd pay in cash. The twisted Indian is some of the most delicious Indian cuisine I have ever eaten in my life. The outside of the building looks unassuming, being located inside a gas station, but the food certainly is not. I got the samosas and mild butter chicken. The chicken was rich , spiced excellently ,and the sauce was thick and creamy. The samosas made me feel like I was going to ascend beyond the confines of this mortal plane. They were so delicious I would get in a cage match with a professional MMA fighter to get just one more. I can not put into words how utterly amazing these samosas are. The atmosphere was calm and serene and the decorations were simple but beautiful. I would highly recommend you go to this establishment if you value your own happiness. read more

Even though it is in a gas station, it has a few clean tables. AC is nice and cold. Service is friendly. Shahi paneer with garlic naan has been my favorite, though everything else has been solid. The spicy is actually spicy, but not overwhelming. The garlic naan appears to be made fresh and is generous with fresh garlic. I just wish it was cooked in a tandoor oven for a better texture, but it's still great regardless. read more

A GEM! The food is so fabulous. The location is very interesting. It's combined with the gas station. The food is vey delicious. The chicken tikka masala and butter chicken are SUPER DUPER creamy. The flavors and spices are well combined. If anything, a blast of Indian spices in curry. My favorites! The service I feel is, order to eat. Which is great as well. They have good delivery options for, YOU NAME IT! If you're feeling like you want to stay home, order Indian food from them. Now, for the one star I'm kicking off, is the cleanliness of the hand washing sink. Low stock on soaps and the counter tops were stained with a lot of old soap and residue. Ambiance: it's in a gas station. Having said that it's very clean and well kept. Service: excellent, 10/10. Order at the counter and table side service. Very friendly and helpful. Food: we may not have ordered the right stuff but our experience here was poor. We ordered the chana masala medium spice, it was extra Garam masala, to the point of being bitter. It was also excessively hot (unclear if reheated/ microwaved). The naan was pretty good. The pakora were strange, a little extra veggies, including leafy greens inside the pakora. Not something I'm used to. We also good the kadai paneer. The sauce was okay, it didn't taste like a traditional kadai but was good. The paneer itself was excellent! I would try again, but was slightly disappointed in the food. I see a lot of reviewers mention the paneer tikka masala. I would try that next time! read more

Ok, what can I say here that hasn't already been said? I've lived in the western US most of my life, and the best place to have Indian food IS MY MOTHER'S HOUSE. Since you can't randomly stop at my mother's place, you can stop at Twisted Indian. (The name is almost an inside joke to me, but I digress). Normally I am unimpressed by East Indian restaurant food because my mother makes better for me, for FREE. However, if you want to impress your date, this is delicious food, freshly made and in ample portions. And we all know Indian food tastes EVEN BETTER the next day after it's been sitting on itself for a few hours (refrigerated of course). Regarding "impress your date" food, be reminded that this sit-down restaurant is inside a gas station. So it's classy for a gas station. You never know, though, your date may be impressed by that!
