There are many places this week that I got to visit that were new, including India oven. Although I've heard about it and seen it many times before, I've never stopped in and enjoyed anything from this place. It's quite a unique visit. It wasn't very busy when we got there, in fact, we only ate with two other groups at separate times for a moment. There's lots of seating and it's got a beautiful unique India inspired decor, with posters all around. It smells really great when you enter. We ordered the lamb tikka masala and the yellow Taka doll, both came with rice. We also ordered the onion Bughagi , naan and roti. Everything was absolutely delicious and flavored so incredibly well. Well, I don't drink soda often, I like to have a spicy drink to wash down my food on occasion and so we got a spray that we slowly slipped. Although the service was very kind, and the woman were great, the one thing that I will say is, it took us quite a long time to get service for things and we often found ourselves getting up and walking over to ask for help. read more

After reading the reviews on here, our group agreed to dine at this establishment. We arrived around 1:00. As we walked inside it was dark, and several tables had dirty dishes on them. Apparently the buffet was the only option. When we approached the buffet there was a large crock pot with Luke warm rice both inside and outside the pot. There were only around 7 or 8 items that we could select from. The dining room was dark and dirty. The consensus of our group was that the food was sub par and a huge disappointment. When we walked out we were all in agreement that we would never return. Maybe we came at a bad time but I can't believe all the rave reviews. Our experience was very poor. read more

I went because this is the only Indian restaurant I know has a lunch buffet in the area in Tucson. The service is good. It is a family cooking family style restaurant. The butter chicken is by far my favorite. The samosas are way different than any samosa I have ever had. In the past I never liked samosas despite giving it many tries. This one suits me the most in taste. The price is very reasonable. I will come again. The owner is very down to earth and works very hard. read more

We went here because I heard good reviews and my son was craving Indian food and because I heard from their buffet. The ambiance was a little too dark and outdated. Carpet was dirty, and not very well organized. Their service was great and quick. The few items on the buffet were good but not outstanding. When my wife and I first walked in we were greeted by the friendliest little girl and lady. The service was great and the food was to die for! The food had the perfect amount of spice! We were treated like family and we will be back. I highly suggest coming here! I love this place! read more

A wonderfully run gem of a restaurant in Tucson. The restaurant staff are very accommodating-- they helped me put some tables together for my group before my friends got there. We were there for the lunch special which is all you can eat! I am a big fan of all you can eat deals and I was able to try a little bit of everything at first, and then go back for seconds of my favorites. Everything was flavorful and I especially loved all the chicken dishes. This is a Tucson staple and I will most definitely becoming back, most likely for the lunch special! read more

My favorite Indian food in Tucson so far! India Oven has a huge menu with a wide variety of authentic Indian dishes. I highly recommend going with a small group and splitting a couple of things. It's family-owned and they are so friendly and appreciative of you being there. One of my Indian friends took me to here because he loves it and wanted to show me a taste of home. I'm so glad he did. It doesn't seem the most put together on the inside, but trust the love that they clearly put into their service and their food and you won't be disappointed. It's fun to try some of their less common dishes, but their Tikka Masala is among the best I've ever had so it's certainly a safe option. read more

Many flies inside this restaurant flying all over sitting area and landing on food. I had to constantly move my hands to keep them away and had to cover my dishes with a napkin to protect my food. Chicken cubes were very hard and dried. Very friendly owner and good server. read more

I have been driving past this place for decades and have never tried it before. We usually go to Indian Twist which is closed on Tuesdays so we tried this as a plan B. SO glad we did! The food is perfect! We had chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Saag and Fish Curry. All three were wonderful. The Lamb being the front runner. And seriously, the naan was the best I've ever had! Warning-the Taj Majal beer is enormous-but a perfect accompaniment. The dining room is pleasant and the owner is delightful. If you haven't tried it yet, there's no better time to try it than today! read more

This is one of my favorite Tucson area Indian restaurants. Small Mom & Pop family run restaurant maybe 20 tables.. AND it still serves a lunch BUFFET!! It's not the biggest buffet but wat is there is delicious!!! They have several vegetarian options on the buffet. I have been coming here for 3 years. Nice clean comfortable seating. Clean bathroom. Parking is limited out front but more parking behind the building. read more

I'm here in Tucson visiting my sister and she took me here for their lunch buffet. This was my first time having Indian food. The food was amazing and this is a family run business. Everyone was very nice. The vibe was like I was visiting grandmas house. The food tasted like family secret recipes. Just tasty and amazing!!!!! We had lunch here today. It's good, not crazy good but (plain) good. We both had the (small) buffet. There were no labels to tell me what was what. So heres my best guess: I had a saag (but with potato not cheese), chicken Curry, rice, and a Naan. I also tried the vegetable samosa. It was all so very mIld. Not bad but not flavorful like great Indian food I'm used to. Needs more spices. read more

My family has been coming to India Oven for 30 years, since they opened in 1993. They still have my favorite Indian buffet in town. My favorites are their Saag Paneer cooked medium spicy, Beef Vindaloo cooked full spicy, their basmati rice with some Naan Bread and a Taj Mahal Indian beer. Excellent Indian food! Delicious lentil soup, chutneys that burst with flavor, quick service, and an impressive menu. Usually huge menus are a warning sign but not here. Everything from the papadum to the tomato chutney to the curries were all amazing. Dishes were served piping hot, too. Highly recommended. Pro tip: there's additional parking in the rear. read more

The buffet is limited but very delicious. If you take the expression that less is more this place literally is that. The mango lassi was so good and the ambiance is what I expect of a mom & pop restaurant. Lots of appropriate pictures and quaint atmosphere. The service was exactly what we needed there. I've been here 3 times with my boyfriend and I'm not a big fan of trying new places but the food here has been amazing every time. We have had the Chicken Tikka Vindaloo, Chicken Curry, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Chicken Saag. All the dishes were delicious and the chicken in the dishes were very tender and not dry and super flavorful. The naan is my favorite! We tried the Onion Bhaggi appetizer and it was a little bland but they served it with sauces that made them good. We also have tried the fried Paneer which I wouldn't recommend because it was quite bland for our palate. THOUGH you should Give this place a try! The owner is a sweet lady. Nice family owned restaurant located on Campbell. It's been in business a long time. The are open for take-out. The curry chicken was good with chunks of white meat chicken. The food changes daily, I believe, but on our visit there was a salad bar (with spinach and lettuce options, shredded carrot, cucumber, two kinds of sprouts, chickpeas, grape tomatoes, and zucchini- also don't miss the delicious dressings! I got seconds on salad so I could try multiple dressings!). There was also brown rice and yellow rice options, steamed veggies and curry veggies, coconut chutney, chowmein, and vegan pizza. Oh and rice pudding and halva. Everything was simple and delicious. They have signs on the table about the food being prepared with the utmost cleanliness and love and I believe it. We sat inside (even though the courtyard was beautiful, it was still a bit sunny). Inside they were playing pan flute music and there was the gentle gurgle of a water feature and large crystals lining the wall. Heck yeah! After dinner we wandered around the grounds, admiring everything. I particularly enjoyed seeing Sufi the white turkey, and the peacocks, the pheasants, and the parrots! They were all adorable and seemed happy. The koi pond was also very zen and beautiful. I would definitely recommend this spot with the caveat that it's not for everyone- you have to go in with the knowledge you're eating simply, and all vegetarian, and you're entering a space where others live and worship. For the price, this was a great bargain. I'd love to visit again one day!

The salad buffet section is my favorite salad to eat out because clearly I get to customize it but I love the dressings housemade. The buffet changes daily offering soups, salads, breads, pastas and more. There is more limited indoor seating but plenty outside. When supporting this business you get to support the community that is behind this beautiful space. Service is incredibly kind and helpful. After or before eating, you can explore the pond filled with massive fish that are bright and view the birds that include species like peacocks. All you can eat, desserts available too.
