We love twins! It's so cute and clean inside, the wait staff is always very attentive and the owner has always been super nice. We've never had a bad meal here - Everything has always been really fresh and really delicious. The thanksgiving wrap is a go-to - we definitely get that a lot, it never disappoints. I'm not sure if we missed out on something magical when we opted not to endure the wait to dine at the nearby Fiddlestix. We were strapped for time due to an impending deadline on our Storm King reservation. I'd bookmarked Twins Eating House as a backup option, since it was an easy three-minute walk away. I'm so glad that I did! Surprisingly, there were a number of open tables; our duo was promptly seated at a four-top. On our way in, we also observed a substantial outdoor patio with plenty of additional seating, too. The star of our brunch was the honey Tabasco buttermilk fried chicken sandwich -- a special that day. According to our superbly on-top-of-things server, it had just been added to the menu and was selling left and right. I can appreciate why; the dish was executed flawlessly. Crunchy, craggy breading coated a perfectly tender cutlet. The savory bleu cheese sauce offered a cool and creamy counterbalance to the still-steaming chicken. And the pillowy bun held up against all of its contents. I have nothing disappointing to report about the breakfast burrito, either. A generous portion, overflowing with the works -- basically, a southwestern omelette in a fluffy wrap. Having just returned from a business trip to San Francisco, I'll admit that Twins' rendition is a pale comparison to the real deal. However, this one was generously portioned and hot sauce works wonders. We were in and out in under 45 minutes, for sure -- possibly even faster. I'm left feeling a bit befuddled about the relative number of open seats at Twins Eating House compared with Fiddlestix. They're so close to one another (perhaps no more than the equivalent of one or two NYC avenues apart). Is the experience at Fiddlestix so superior that it warrants the wait? Went into Twins on a Friday for a late lunch with my brother, and it was busy but winding down. We'd just done Storm King, so were thirsty, and I ordered an iced tea and my brother a diet coke and water. Waitress said she'd bring him the diet coke first and the water later, or else she'd have to charge him for having 2 drinks, which I thought at first was a joke, but no, he got the soda, then the water later. My iced tea also had a weird flavor to it, as though the water/ice used came from a well that needed filtration. I ordered a PLT (Pastrami Lettuce Tomato) on rye, and there were a few a couple of problems with it. First, I'm pretty sure I had the end of the Pastrami, as the sandwich tasted like pepper. It was an overpowering pepper flavor, and I am somebody who likes spicy, peppery, strong flavored foods in general. My brother took a bite, did not like, and came to the same conclusion. There were also chunks of pastrami in there, not just thin slices, which also lends me to believe it was the end bit. It also was not on rye bread which I asked for when the waitress gave me the choice of breads. Thought about returning it but was really tired and hungry by the time it came. We were recommended this place by a friend. Definitely something different than the usual average places around Highland Falls. Overall was a great experience. Looks like the inside has been recently renovated and they did a magnificent job. Staff was very friendly and did everything to make her experience great. Two of us had the breakfast burrito, on had corn beef hash, and the last person had pancakes. Breakfast burrito was magnificent, great tasting and the perfect size. Other meals were all good. Sorry for the terrible review, but what a disappointment. The food is outrageously overpriced and mediocre at best. A breakfast platter with french toast, sausage and eggs was $22 and the chicken sandwich was awful. The service was terrible and when i finally got my waitress's attention to get my check, she asked me if I'd be paying cash or using a card, because there are two different prices for cash and credit. I spent 49 dollars and had to go home and make a tunafish sandwich. You could go eat at BOTH Fiddlesticks AND JONES FARM for the amount of money you'd spend at Twin's Eating House-- and the food at both of these places is great. read more

We were excited to try this spot in Cornwall. To start, they charge $2 for a cup of water. This was brusquely informed to us upon sitting down. Refills are a full charge of $2 as well. It doesn't matter if it's "double filtered water", the cultural expectation here in America is that non-bottled water is complementary. I now understand from the owner/manager's responses to other reviews on here that it costs a small amount to the restaurant and they must clean the cup after the customer drinks the water, etc., but in our society, charging for water is almost as absurd as charging for using silverware. That also has to be purchased, handed out, cleaned, etc. Their explanation, as the phrase goes, doesn't hold water. Next, the prices on the menu are not the charged prices. In small print at the bottom of the menu it says "prices reflect cash discount". The menu doesn't tell you what percentage that discount is, so if you're paying with a credit card like most people in the year 2022, you don't realize you're being charged 3% extra until the check shows up. These two issues being our first impression of the place left a bad taste, so we decided to leave before ordering the $11 short stack of chocolate coconut pancakes or the exorbitant $16 for a Mediterranean wrap. But don't worry, we paid the $4.33 plus $1 tip for our double filtered waters from the fountain machine. read more

Stopped for breakfast as we were cursing Thur NY state to a veteran owned eating house. First observations is this place is super clean and ultra modern looking. Friendly staff we were greeted and promptly served with coffee. We ordered a breakfast special from the menu called double trouble. Two buttermilk, two eggs any style, two slices of meaty bacon cooked the way we like it and two thinly sliced breakfast sausage patties a very good size. Also comes with home fries and toast of your choice. Also ordered a side of corn beef hash, guess what real corn beef and potatoes with green peppers out of this world. Here a big plus after about an early morning 3 hours ride the restrooms are as clean as the bathrooms in your house, Super big plus after being on the road for a while. We stopped by a little after 11am and it wasn't crowded, which is a plus, but as we were leaving the lunch crowd was coming in, so we got there at a great time. My family had been wanting to get to Twins Eating House since they opened after hearing about it from our friends in NYC. It happened to be mostly on our way to upstate so we decided to stop by for a late breakfast. We were so hungry by the time we got there that we were afraid we had ordered too much. We didn't though, not because the portions were small, but because it was so good we just kept eating. My kids ordered the Double Trouble (fitting name for Twins) which I think was two each of eggs, toast, sausage, bacon and also came with potatoes. My wife got a veggie omelette that also came with potatoes and toast and ordered a bowl of fresh fruit. I got a breakfast sandwich with a tall stack side of pancakes. Everything was perfect. Enjoyed a great meal at Twins Eating House! They offer a unique selection of burgers not found on every other menu in town. We ordered the Frasc burger and the SoCal burger. The Frasc burger has cheddar cheese, bacon, sautéed mushrooms, sautéed onions and mayo, and the SoCal comes with pepper jack cheese, sautéed red onion, avocado slices and chipotle mayo. Both burgers were seasoned perfectly and cooked medium well as requested. Their steak fries came fresh from the fryer and were delicious! Our family has also enjoyed breakfast at Twins and we have also ordered take out. Each and every time we have been very pleased with the meals we have ordered. One of the main reasons we keep returning to Twins is that the restaurant and staff take allergies very seriously. My daughter has a peanut allergy and I have celiac disease so must avoid gluten. The staff and owner handle our orders very carefully to ensure the food is prepared properly. SO happy to have a restaurant nearby that serves excellent food that is always conscious of our allergies. read more
