It was our lucky day. Imagine being tired and hungry after walking for two hours around Bear Mountain, craving a fresh delicious sandwich piled high with quality meats and "Viola!", it becomes reality. That is exactly what happened. We stumbled upon this deli and was so pleased with the roast beef, turkey and Swiss with bacon and Russian dressing. I ate my usual half and felt perfectly full. I rarely go that direction from West Point and forget about the deli. I was coming in from NJ, saw it and stopped in for lunch. Nice girls helping and answered all my questions and were patient. The food looked good in the case and they serve breakfast all day. I ended up with the spicy ham wrap, hold the onion. It was loaded with meat and the spice was good. They have a nice shaded outside seating area to enjoy on a nice day. The large coffee I definitely needed. read more

This place goes by fort deli now. So came by to get a spicy ham sandwich and spiral pasta salad. So a waiting bit since it was busy, they got my salad wrong and give me potato salad, I did mention I wanted pasta salad and they apologized and offered to make it right, sadly the customers after got served the Most what was left, so I got macaroni salad instead, but it was nice that one of them took what was left of pasta salad and give it to me for free. It's rare to see a place make right for a mistake and I grateful. I loved spicy ham, never had sriracha Dijon mustard before and man it was good, plus jalapeño pepper jack cheese either, plus plenty of ham to boot. Both salads were great, although the pasta salad was way better than the macaroni salad by a mile, wish I had more. This place has a ice cream attachment to it, will have try it next time read more

This place was very nice! Usually chicken tenders and fries take about 18 minutes. This took about 15 minutes during the lunch rush! Also, the fries were very well salted and the chicken tenders were crispy. read more

Don't come here got the ice cream - def not a good local creamery.... The fruit flavor ones are all artificial, the color of the black cherry is creepy and all food coloring, and their sprinkles tasted like a stale cardboard box that has expired (as of May 2025) when we were there. I hope they refresh before the peak summer season but I probably would not waste calories or time to come here again..... read more

I stop at this deli from time to time. It used to be the local hotspot for lunch in the area until the new ownership took over. I have to give it a bad review because the pricing is just disrespectful. $5 for a bottle of water is outrageous and the $12 hard roll sandwich was super skimpy. read more

We have driven past here hundreds of Times and finally visited today. We should've started going here long ago as the sandwiches from here were delicious and huge. They do a really big catering business from here along with customers eating outside on the high tops. The place is dog friendly. They have hot prepared foods including chicken breasts, chicken wings, etc every kind of sandwhich with boars head meat and an ice cream shop - all in one. This is a few minute drive from the gates of West Point and bear mountain park. We will definitely return - enough food to take home for dinner too. read more

Used to go to this deli years ago, guy named John ran it, Sandwiches were fantastic and the prices were great. Now it's The Fort Deli, the new owner fixed it up a bit and added ice cream but unfortunately the sandwiches are a lot smaller and the prices are a lot higher, breakfast sandwiches are almost double. I get inflation and the cost of renovation but if you're going to jack the prices way up at least put the same amount of meat on that you used to, just saying. read more

Had one of the most disgusting Italian combos. Had to throw it out was dripping with oil. Not oil and vinegar.. plain oil all over the place. Tomatoes were cut way too thick like half inch thick so your crunching on them and bread was glorified Subway type bread. We always stop when we are in town for an Army Football game or taking the train to Yankee Stadium. Great Italian Subs. The rolls are so fresh! Cutlets are thin and tasty! Meatballs are good too. I moved from NYC to Highland Falls approximately 4 years ago and this is the only place in Orange County, NY that I would buy sandwiches from, without thinking it twice. Very clean and overall very welcoming. It's the only place that actually has Boars Head products which is what I miss most from the city. When I buy sandwiches from here, I feel like I'm eating a sandwich from NYC which is a great thing. My favorite is Hot Pastrami with Pepper Jack cheese, loaded with lettuce, tomatoes, onion, banana peppers, and mayo on a spinach wrap. Highly recommend Foxes' Country Deli! read more
