Started with the Tutoni's old fashioned, which was very good, and well prepared. Then received the scallop crudo as an app, which was one of the best crudos I've ever had. However, I got the gnocchi Anna Romano I believe was the name, and it was such a let down. The spare rib was very good, however getting gnocchi, I expected pasta. It came as mushy medallions which tasted like burnt cheese. Like where is the gnocchi? $22 for basically spare rib is overpriced. Should be $16-$18, especially with how it came. My girlfriend also loved the crudo, and did not like her entree all that much. She got the duck confit pesto dish. We also got snicker like dessert, which was pretty good. The atmosphere was cool, and food was good except for the entree. But, the entree was so bad it is hard to come out with a good experience. read more

Great atmosphere, service and the food was to die for. We went with the lamb and chicken.. would not change a thing. Great stop before a stop at the theatre! We will be back for sure! Following them now on Facebook too they host many great events! read more

Tutoni's was very good overall. We were a fan of the prior restaurants in this location and it was pleasing to us they retained much of the decor (which works well for Italian or Mediterranean). Our appetizers (Field Green Salad and Agnolotti) were excellent. In the Agnolotti the fennel marmalade added a great bright flavor to the light pasta and chicken liver mousse. Meals were great also but also very hot (must have just come out). First bites were very hot (especially the manicotti) so beware. The flavors in the manicotti (goat cheese, tomato jam, preserved lemon) were a fantastic flavor rainbow and the shrimp risotto was wonderful and a good size portion (lunch tomorrow). Dessert was the only low spot (lemon curd tasted like bacon...not sure if that was intended - server said no - but it was not a good combo). The other desserts were great and this is definitely on our return list. read more

I met up with a good friend from undergrad (and fellow child of YoCo) here the other day. Both of us moved away after college, so we were excited to check out some of the new businesses that popped up since our last visits home. Tutoni's seemed like a good place to start. We met for lunch. The restaurant itself is gorgeous -- a bit dark, with lots of stone details and a mild wood smell. All pluses in my book! The restaurant was pretty quiet with only two other tables filled. The hostess/waitress had seated the parties away from each other, which was a nice change from being sandwiched against strangers whose conversations you have zero interest in and vice versa. Based on the proximity of the smaller tables, I imagine there's high potential for (un)intentional eavesdropping during peak hours. We both ordered paninis; I went with the charcuterie and my friend chose the portabella. Each sandwich came with the option of a green salad or pasta salad; I opted for the greens and she went for the pasta. Overall, the food was fresh and flavorful and the portions quite generous (disclaimer: neither of us are big eaters). We were pleasantly surprised that each lunch totaled $10. Also, be sure to try the wonderful tea! It's from Cherie Anne's around the corner. Both teas (one was called Snickerdoodle, the other I forget) were so excellent that after we left, we immediately jaywalked across Philly Street to get a stash. I love the locally-sourced network that's popped up in downtown, and Tutoni's definitely taps into it in great ways. The dinner menu looked dope (Housemade pasta? Sign me up for some of that gnocchi.), so I'm excited to return and try Tutoni's evening fare -- and their wine selection. read more

I've been waiting to write this review for years. York has been looking for an "Italian" restaurant like this for a long time. One with an eye on tradition and a focus on contemporary and local ideas. When I ate there early last year, Tutoni's hadn't hit their stride yet. With two dedicated owners, Tony and Toni, they have put a great eating establishment on the York map. My wife and I ate there tonight and were very impressed with the service, which was outstanding but the food was great too. We started with a Monkfish crudo,Delicious! followed by a Parsnip soup and Ragu Bolognese over house made pasta, Outstanding! Then came a Risotto with truffles, Wonderful! and we finished with Seafood pot pie with several types of fish in a puffed pie shell and an (off the menu) Timpano with a house made marinara sauce dotted with pesto, Spectacular! What a great meal. Thanks for being in York Tu Tony/Toni read more

I've been to Tutoni's three times now and have not yet been disappointed. It's my go to place to celebrate special occasions. The food has always been on point, the servers are very knowledgeable about the menu , and the atmosphere is cozy and romantic combined with European class with a touch of rustic. I love that they use local meats and produce, and support locally owned small businesses. For those reviewers who were opposed to BYOB; Tutoni's now has a full service bar. I however don't drink, but they have a great selection of moccocktails! It's my favorite place to dine in York hands down! read more

This was our first visit and it was s real treat. Decor and ambiance is amazing. Service was-friendly attentive. My husband had the short rib w/gnocchi and I had the sweet onion ravioli with duck confit - delicious! It's a great place for before or after a show downtown. We are looking forward to the tapas. Just be aware the stairs are a challenge for those with disabilities. read more

My husband and I were in on a Saturday a few weeks ago and things just seemed off service-wise, not our usual experience there. For one thing, we opted to go from 4pm - 6pm because the website said that even on Saturdays, they have a cocktail menu with specials during that time period. When we asked what the specials were, we were told that was only Mon - Fri. We were disappointed, but didn't want to push, so we just ordered the cocktails and tapas we wanted. Also, it seemed like even though they don't open until 4pm, the staff was still prepping things and setting up and so it took awhile to get our order taken. Once we were settled in and had ordered, service and drinks were wonderful. I love their cocktail list and the tapas items were delicious. We will definitely be back! read more

The food is always excellent, and that's the most important thing about a restaurant for me. Everything I've had at Tutoni's has been fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. However, I was confused by the recent St Francis Day dinner. It was advertised as having Irish specialties to celebrate the day, but we were given the standard menu with no mention of the Irish selections. When we asked, we were told there was only Shepherd's Pie and bread pudding for the special occasion, and no mention was made of the Irish cocktails that were to be served. There was a long wait for every glass of wine we ordered, and I had to flag down the waitress for our needs a couple of times. I love the ambience of Tutoni's, although the quarters are tight and the music was particularly loud this last time. But the food is so terrific, I'll probably keep returning. read more

Great dinner tonight in York, PA. Farm to table with wonderful fish and pasta entrees. The squash soup was fantastic and our server, Santana was the best. She knew of the music group by the same name because her parents liked them. We didn't bother telling her Santana played at our college homecoming concert/dance in 1971! read more

Living in York you're surrounded by chain restaurants. So I am always looking for new businesses & local restaurants. Tutoni's is definitely a gem in York. The meatballs in my rigatoni bolognese pasta dish was mouth watering. Soft tender and moist with just the right amount of flavor. The pasta was cooked perfect. Will definitely be making another visit to this restaurant very soon. read more

We happen to be passing through York on our way back home from Washington DC. We decided to stop in York to have something to eat. so we sort of lucked out when we saw this restaurant. If you like pasta their homemade pasta is great! Luckily we happen to have a couple of wine bottles in the trunk since it's bring your own booze here. Everything is done high-class including the french-press coffee and desserts read more

last night there were open tables on the 1st floor - the host we could not use them - there were good open tables on the second floor but the host we could not use them - only a tiny - dimly lit (had to use my iphone to light menu) noisy high rise table - then the expensive steak entree was full of fat - could not get one bite without chewing tooth sticking fat - my wifes pasta was so-so read more

Loved the atmosphere and farm to table origins. Food was underwhelming. My rigatoni bolognese had a good flavor but I wasn't impressed. I should've gone with my first instinct the manicotti - which a fellow diner said was excellent. Our two other diners had lobster ravioli - 5 of them to be exact.... Corking fee? Seriously? Our one bottle had a screw top and we were charged for "enjoying it in this facility." In an area where BYOB is common, Tutoni's needs to scrap the corking fee nonsense. Dessert shooters were so tiny. We heard other diners commenting the same thing. We were so disappointed we went elsewhere for dessert. Staff was great and the prices reasonable. I'd definitely go back once they ditch the corking fee and get some real dessert options - I'll just order the manicotti! read more

Highly upset this bar is BYOB. I mean next time i guess I will just bring my own silverware. Heck, I guess I will bring a tablecoth too. BYOB, sheesh, I have never heard something so despicable in my entire life. Nothing is worse then showing up to a dinner with 4 york county legends and having the waitress say "what kind of water would you like?" I mean seriously, you should've just told me to go to Left Bank and save the heartache. I got serious problems with this. Yeah, I will be back...but will you be open? We'll see. You know what they say...No beer, No wine, closed in no time. Best, Super Reviewer of the Greater York area. read more

My evening was perfect. They have a all from scratch kitchen. The waitress was quick to tell me what farm the food came from or the style in which a specific kind of past is made. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone. BYOB at the moment. read more

First Friday we decided to try Tutoni's, our first time. I don't normally write bad reviews as you never know what type of day the server may be having. But this visit was a total disaster. Two in our party are vegetarians. When we ask our waitress for vegetarian options she bluntly told us just one. Ok......she brought us bottled water, took our order, we ordered the burrata to start, then our limited vegetarian option. The burrata came out covered in meat. Ok easy enough to remove. After ordering the waitress never spoke to us again the entire dinner, oh except to take our plates away when we finished. Never offered us more water ( as we did not order alcoholic drinks) never ask how our dishes were, never offered dessert or coffee. When we ask for the bill she said "when she has a minute. " when we left I ask to speak to the manager and was left standing at the door no one ever came to address my complaint. Pretty sure I will skip this establishment next time in York. Food taste good over priced... service even worse. read more

The entrees were very good but the restaurant is stingy with bread, the desserts are too small and the expresso was terrible.

BYOB, limited menu They have big plans but that doesn't make for a good restaurant top that with poor advertising and the only word I have is disappointing. I will keep an eye on this place and hope they get thier act together as it has potential. read more

LOVED this place so much. We went for dinner upstairs at the bar. The atmosphere was definitely romantic and quiet. We had such a good time there because the staff was so friendly and recommended some wines that went with our food that night. Our favorite was the confit potatoes. The pasta was cooked to perfection, not too soft, not too hard. We also had the steak here which was phenomenal. The wines paired our food so well and we had a delightful evening. read more

Superb! Made reservations that somehow didn't get recorded. (3rd party confirmation must have been the issue.) arrived and we were seated promptly. The duck was the best I've had. Tutoni's is one of my favorite places in York. The food, beverage selection, service, and environment are phenomenal. This place is a great example of people taking York to the next level. Whether having an intimate dinner in the dining room, or girls night out at the TT Bar, the staff always makes sure to take care of you! They are also very helpful when pairing wines and cocktails with dishes! Make sure to request Lauren when dining, she's the best! read more

Went out to dinner tonight....... Tutoni"s restaurant is three doors down from The Left Bank restaurant. It may as well be a million miles away. They pride themselves on farm to table food. I asked for a Stolichnaya martini. They said they had a type of Stolichnaya that costs more than double a normal Martini Ok i asked for an other brand they only had Tito's? What kind of a bar restaurant has only two kinds of Vodka?First course $18.00 lamb chops(2). A brown fatty mess covered with a green sauce. I guess to hide the brown chops? Over salted and served just under well done? Beautiful large shrimp home made pasta dish. I feel so sorry for those beautiful Gulf shrimp. Why did they have to give up there lives only to be over cooked to rubber,a sad sad thing. The pasta is fresh made. I think i prefer the boxed stuff? My meat balls were a burnt mess! Four meatballs served around the thickest spaghetti i have ever seen. Why was there an executive decision not to cover the burnt meatballs with sauce? Everything over salted and void of any substantial flavor? The unusual calamari dish was pretty good. If i were you i would walk past Tutoni"s and dine at the left bank same prices but much better food! Oh i forgot the bread was a nice hard crusty bread but filled with pine needles. Can someone tell them pine needles are not to be eaten?? Have you ever had a pine needle stuck between your teeth? That bread had me spitting all night!! read more

Great little Italian place in York. I didn't know York had such little gems. I also had grilled cheese during grilled cheese week and brought my kids here for a family meal. The server was SO good with handling my kids picky choices. They did an excellent job of making cocktails as well. A little pricey but I'd say it's worth it if you are looking for an exceptional place to dine in York. read more

The dishes at Tutoni's are authentically Italian. The sauce on my bolognese was too sweet for me. While the restaurant is relatively small the food took an exceptionally long time to come out, over an hour despite the restaurant not being very busy. Beyond that the waiter was very inattentive, it probably took 20 minutes just for him to bring bread. I give it two stars because I enjoy Italian and I like the decor, after that I would pass on another visit. read more

I my opinion they serve the best italian dishes in town! Never had a bad meal in this restaurant! They have very hospitable staff as well!

Bomb hand crafted food. Made with love. Always outstanding. Lack many vegetarian and vegan options though.... I always have to get the same dishes usually 1 or 2 to choose from, but of course they are amazing. Since I come so often, I'd love more variety. read more
