Great food (smash burger tacos and my wife had Cesar salad) and matched with great beer selection and service. Great menu too.

It's the kind of place where you feel like family, even on your first visit. The meatloaf sandwich was absolutely delicious, and the homemade pickled beets were outstanding. Everything is made in-house, and you can taste the difference. I'll definitely be back!

If you love large portions and hot yummy food I highly recommend it if you have time. The only issue I have here is this place NEEDS a proper staff. I really do like the folks they run the joint. But the service is inconsistent at best from visit to visit and even on a slow day with an empty dining space it can take a while to get served. Knowing that we went in today not expecting much more than large tasty portions. We took the whole family as a good bye brunch as my oldest his partner who we're visiting with my grandson. Im not sure what happened today but the single little old lady who runs the front was all over the place. She was polite and professional but you could tell she was overwhelmed. It took quite a while to get menus and waters then quite a while longer than that to get to order. She took the order and then we waited. And waited and waited. As we waited the littles started to devolve. And then, we waited some more. From the moment we sat down to the time food arrived was about an hour and a half. By then the kids were done. My wife was done and I was done. The food was hot. Some under cooked and my meal was missing the main component. That mouth watering and coma inducing pastrami. All said and done it was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. No one was happy when we left. And that's a huge bummer. The food here is too good for the experience to be so bad. There were apologies and eventually the owner came out and compensated the entire meal. But that's not a good business model. Will I go back? Absolutely. They could cuss me out and I'd go buy the pastrami even if it fell on the floor. It's that good. But I probably won't ever go back with the kids. They don't have the stamina for it and we really have enough time to truly enjoy it as we would like to.

Our server came over to take our drink orders and offer us sparkling, spray or tapwater. He also offered us the chefs amuse bouche. It was a hummus filled of pastry? The menu is easy to decipher, and there were two specials for the evening. We went with the escargot as an appetizer as well as the bread basket. The bread basket had a few different options and a herb butter. There was some appointment with the escargot as they were a little chewy and lack some flavor but we all enjoyed the Mushrooms that they sat on top of and the toasted bread. We also got the potato crisp as an appetizer. They were excellent with a Stilton cheese, fresh herbs, and scallions! They were crispy and so flavorful. One of the specials was a pasta Bolognese made with Papparadelle. I enjoyed seeing the small bits of carrot, a lot of meat and the wine flavor came through as well. My dad got the monkfish and he said it was almost like eating a piece of steak! We couldn't forget about dessert. We had the crème brûlée and two of the Chocolate dessert. Overall, it was a great night, but but it was quite pricey. That was our fault as we asked for extra water, we had 2 alcoholic drinks, three appetizers and three desserts. I will definitely be back for another special occasion as there is more to explore on the menu! It's a hidden gem in East Berlin, and I'm glad it's still around!

While our server was friendly, his banter was not genuine. If cocktails are your thing, this may not be the place for you. While we appreciate that they craft their drinks from scratch and without mixers, the drinks just were below average. The appetizers (shrimp cocktail and caesar salad) were good, but not much above average. That said, most of the entrées were excellent. Our party enjoyed bacon-wrapped filet, prime rib, duck and beef short rib. All three were very good. While the prime rib was exactly as ordered (rare), it would have benefited from a more traditional rub (rosemary, thyme, horseradish, etc.). The rub on this prime rub had a strong chili powder taste that just didn't work. Portion sizes were generally very generous and timing of the courses was perfect. Desserts were also very good. However, while the crème brulée had great taste, texture and presentation, the serving size was much too small for the price ($13). Overall, the experience was good and we will return.
