Don't try too hard... What a joke. Here is your ridiculously priced salad. We went all out.

Scotch: $19.00 a shot. I'm not kidding. The menu is poor mans trash and outrageous. I attached photos. Waste your money somewhere else. Perkins is ten times better than this garbage.

Great food, great service! We stumbled upon this place spontaneously today. The restaurant was empty when we got there, but then again it was 1:30pm. We were greeted by a very nice host, who ended up being out waitress too. The manager even came out to greet us at one point, which was very nice of him. Overall, the service was excellent. We ordered the oyster po' boy, ham and cheese omelet and the crab, shrimp, and mussels flatbread. The omelet tasted pretty average, but the po' boys and the flatbread were really good. The po' boys had a nice twist to them; there were pickled veggies in the sandwich, which added a nice tang. The oysters were of decent size too. I would definitely recommend trying this restaurant if you haven't already or are in the area!

Another fantastic Mother's Day buffet! This year had a Spanish theme with plenty of charcuterie and artisan cheeses. The other room had several carving stations but my favorite thing by far was the bouillabaisse which is a French seafood dish popularized here in the states by none other than the the iconic Julia Child. This recipe did not disappoint. Lots of seafood with a savory broth. Yum! I went back for seconds! I almost forgot the desserts which were amazing works of art. The team at the 1863 certainly know how to craft an artful menu and deliver culinary excellence. I highly recommend a visit soon. You won't regret it! Oh..and Mom loved it too!

Very elegant restaurant with plethora of drink and food options. Tough to choose which is a good thing. Jumbo chicken wings, chicken and dumplings, prime ribs and nice salads. Also salmon and hummus.

Firstly, the water was amazing! Then came the bread with the honey, butter, and bleu cheese. With the exception of the honey; sort of tasted like it came out of a cask from 1863. The bleu cheese and butter was perfect to ease the hardtack they served with it, they are so authentic with the historic times of the battle. Then came the drinks. She ordered Tito's lemonade, was good. I ordered a double shot gin and tonic to be served in a tall glass. When it arrived, in a short glass, it was good and strong. The appetizer came, calamari, layered over a scanty dollop of marinara. The calamari was a mixture of chopped tentacles and baby octopus deep fried in some type of oil that clung tightly to the aborted babies bodies. We both ordered the filet mignon. It was an easy choice out of the whopping 8 items to order from unless you want a sandwich. FYI, I seen a whole table of sandwiches come out and they looked like a few slices of lettuce with deli meat with a whole lot of tackbread. The chunk of meat came with a scoop of mashed potatoes with asparagus and carrots also a small carafe of aus jus that had a lot of nutmeg swirled in it. We both ate the asparagus and carrots first. Not bad but really, you can't mess those up to badly. I ordered mine Medium-rare and hers medium-well. I cut a piece of the steak off and ate the tasteless, well above medium-rare, meat. She did the same cutting into her bleeding chunk of meat. We obviously realized that the waitress must have sat the wrong dish in front of us, so we exchanged. However, in the waitress's defense, we believe she was a little stoned and covering it up with all of the perfume that you could taste in the air. After we cut into the center of each we realized they were the same. Not well or rare could be found. The aus jus came in handy as the meat was in keeping with the tradition of the period food, tasteless, dry, the most awful "filet mignon" I have ever eaten. The mashed potatoes were slightly cold with the taste of instant potatoes, really. The water, butter, and bleu cheese were top-notch along with the drinks from the bar. Everything else, to include the service, wasn't worth a tenth of the $140 plus we laid out for this rubbish. I figured they can have this type of crap service / food because the majority of people are tourists and it's a "one and done". Get the tourist's money and tough luck on the quality. As for us locals that would love a high quality restaurant to frequent... this is not it by a long shot. PS: The attached picture is a rendition, not an actual photo, of what the bread looked liked to us. The hardtack.

They have great help that are WAYYYYY understaffed. The food was ok, nothing spectacular. You can do better with a drive into Gettysburg.

We all shared a fried pickle app. Fried pickles were standard with a house made dill type dip. Dip was good but portion could be a bit larger. Poutine was ok. I'm not a fan of cornstarch dusted fries-so there's that. The short rib was tender and plentiful. Oddly, though the short rib and the gravy didn't have a very beefy flavor. So the poutine was sadly underwhelming in my point of view. The portion is large enough to definitely share. My daughter's chicken thigh sandwich was good. She thought it was flavorful the sauce on. It was nothing to write home about. The house made chips were OK. My mom's cheeseburger looks really good. It was cooked just as she ordered. She said it was very tasty. It came with like a barbecue sauce on it, but she said overall was very good. They have a rather large drink menu with products from their distillery. The prices were not crazy. That skillet of poutine was $16. Total bill for three of us with fountain sodas an iced tea, our bill was $82. They have a bar it is somewhat kid friendly so give it a try.

I can't tell you how many times that medium is what I usually get when requesting medium-rare at restaurants. There's a big difference between the two in terms of internal temperature, center color, and texture. This place knows how to properly cook a medium-rare burger, and for me, that's a sign of quality and sets it apart. The sidewinder fries are fab as are the homemade potato chips and either comes with burgers. The dressing on the coleslaw needs some seasoning, but the slaw itself is fresh and crunchy. The Maryland crab soup is pretty slammin', too. I favor the back dining room, not the bar (in front). These 2 areas have different vibes. The back room feels like the way a burger joint should be. The bar is, well, more bar-ish. One of the servers, Brody, provides exceptional service--a shout out to him. This establishment's name is playful and clearly informs the customer as to what their specialty is: hamburgers. I bought one of their T-shirts, perhaps that says it all.

I should've left and found another option altogether. We both ordered burgers (of course), his a bacon cheeseburger with fries and coleslaw, mine a patty melt on rye bread with Swiss cheese, fries and coleslaw. Both medium rare. Both came out medium well, no coleslaw, one invisible slice of cheese on each burger and white bread instead of rye on my patty melt. The grilled onions actually looked more like onion jam and the trays with black/white checkered paper this is served on looks like it's never seen a sponge or water. No, I can't recommend this place.

He said that "You are transported back in time the moment you step into the place." He was not wrong. Though it was late evening, there were still tons of people waiting to get in. We were starving but figured the wait must mean the food was worth it and...it was! We chose first available and were seated at the bar in the corner. It was nice because we didn't wait long to be served and we had I nice view of the entire restaurant. A very rustic place that looked as I would imagine it did in 1863. My friend ordered a Caesar salad, fillet, and a baked potato. The salad came with a freshly baked yeast dinner roll. Fillet was cooked to perfection. I ordered the King's Soup which was French onion soup except with large chunks of tender beef in it. My entree was the Spring House Salad which was mixed greens, apples, walnuts, chipped smoked turkey, with herb dressing and it was divine. The sleeper of the meal was the datenut bread with cream cheese that came with my salad. A dark brown molasses bread with dried fruit and nuts. It was so chocked full of nuts and fruit while the dough was the most moist bread I've ever had. I couldn't eat both pieces after the meal so took it in a to go container.
