I visited Turtle Jack's this past weekend with my sister and mom for my mother's birthday. Our server, Angela, was really nice, attentive, and friendly. She stopped by periodically making sure our needs were met. The restaurant itself is really nice and had a nice atmosphere. It was rather quiet when we went, which was perfect for us! For lunch, we ordered the Big Wing Salad with fries, the Bison meatloaf, and the blackened chicken on naan. My meal, which was the chicken on naan with a Caesar salad, was really good. The chicken was nice and flavorful. My sister and mother did not feel the same. They felt their meals were "just ok" and not really notable. I did get a chance to try their meals. My sister's chicken sandwich was ok. I did really like her fries, they were cooked to perfection- nice and crunchy. My mom's bison meatloaf was rather bland. However, all the meals had good presentation. This rating is a collective rating from my family and I. We would give our overall experience a 3.5/5 stars only because their meals weren't as flavorful as they had hoped. read more

So Yelpers never let me down, but clearly no one can be right all the time. So I am not sure how this place got 4.5 stars because I found it just meh. I am willIng to think it was me being really hungry and having driven for 8.5 hours through a blizzard but doubtful. The positive was the drink, the Night Storm. Captain Morgan® Dark Spiced Rum, grapefruit juice, lime juice, house-made ginger syrup, ginger beer. (1.5 oz Very tasty! The food was okay, but who eats for okay. I started with the Calamari. Big rings of Calamari with a bit is a slightly spiced coating. It came with deep fried jalapeño rings and sliced fried red peppers. It was fine. I ordered the NY Chicken Dinner, but was brought the fried chicken dinner. My bad for eating part of it before I realized it (might have been a bit tired from the drive), I kept thinking the sauce was supposed to be spicy and this tasted like a weak gravy. The server finally came by (he was fine other than not putting in the correct order and he dId comp my meal) and brought me out the sauce I wanted. The chicken was fine, the fries were fine, but not great. My wife's burger was a bit over done and the side Caesar she got had a dressing that she said tasted more like mayonnaise than Caesar. My mom and I were in the Niagara Falls Ontario, Canada for a few days touring around. There are a lot of restaurants that I wouldn't go to, mostly if I don't go to them in my hometown of Los Angeles, I would never go there anywhere else. This is where Turtle Jack's comes into play... we didn't want to go back to the hotel restaurant which was good (the Keg at the Embassy Suites) so I went to look for another place. I read the reviews and looked at the menu and thought we would give it a try. Our server, Claudia, was amazing. I asked her if I should go with this choice or that choice. I went with a burger and it was delicious, my mom went with the salmon and that was great too. We liked the service, atmosphere, and food enough to go back the next night. I requested Claudia's section again and ordered the other choice I didn't pick the night before which was the chicken fettuccini. My mom got fish and chips! All was good and consistent again! Came here for the bday while in Niagara Falls and I gotta say this was one of the better places I went to while in Niagara Falls. For my starter I had the chicken wings. They were small (I like them small actually over huge wings) and had a little char on it (asked them to be well done) and had a little kick to them. They were actually pretty good. For my meal I had the California club and fries. The fries here are excellent and probably some of the better fries in this city and sandwich itself was hood. The food at Turtle Jack's was ok. Nothing to wow about. I have definitely had better wings at Hooters in Niagara Falls (which if you haven't tried their buffalo wings you are missing out). My husband really loved their ghost pepper wings but said they were a bit dry which was the same issue I had. Fries were ok as well. But this place is not nut friendly, which is a problem because our son has a severe nut allergy. We were shocked to find there were only two items on the kids menu that were not cross contaminated with nuts -- grilled chicken and steak. He couldn't even have chicken tenders. Many kids have nut allergies so they should really do better with having more nut-free items on their kids menu. read more

My friends and I made spontaneous plans to visit Niagara Falls and came across this place as we were walking around on the Canada side. I really liked the overall aesthetic of the place, and they had a lot of TVs around the restaurant with the games on for NFL Sunday. We started off with a couple of drinks, and I went for a Moscow mule. Both my friends got mojitos. The drinks were really good, and I could not taste the alcohol in it at all. I got the turkey pita which was quite refreshing, and the fries tasted really good. Our waitress was super friendly and the service was relatively quick. This restaurant like every other, was super packed on Saturday night. We were lucky enough to get a table outdoors and were greeted quickly despite the big rush they were having. The food options were quite extensive and included vegetarian option (beyond meat). We started off with the calamari which was amazing. The guacamole was also good, the pita that came with it was warm, fresh and fluffy. I ordered the fish tacos which were nice and light, the mango salsa was a nice touch. The Buffalo chicken wrap was my favourite and others dining with us enjoyed the garden burger and the hell of a burger (spicy). I was very happy with the amount of choices on the menu as well as the prices for the amount of food that was served. They also had a good cocktail selection as well as beer and wine. After walking around and seeing the Falls, we stopped in for a bite to eat before the fireworks show. The staff were all friendly and we were promptly sat. The TVs all had MLB game (Boston vs Toronto). This place is great for a family but the bar area is also nice for just adults. Food was amazing! The New York style Fried Chicken was great! He was great. He was knowledgeable about the food and helped us make decisions we were all happy with. Sometimes I can be a bit odd with my orders and Ryan made sure I knew all the options and got me exactly what I was looking for. Honestly, he made the experience what it was. We all enjoyed our food which included fish tacos, nachos, and burgers. The poutine was absolutely delicious and beats all the poutine we get back in Maine (even with cheese curds). Blood orange margarita was good so ordered a 2nd which was more mixer and less tequila. Bartender in training perhaps? Husband ordered Caesar salad which came out with his meal instead of before it.
