This is a really nice old time friendly bar with great food at good prices. Tonight I had open-face grilled burgers on bread with mashed and peas. Perfectly done. If I could give this place a lower rating I would ... the owner Mary actually degrades and swears at her customers even with younger children around... We ordered food and there was questionable items in the food that were not edible.. there was a of plastic in my sandwich and my fries seemed to be reheated over and over were full of oil ...my husband had to go to the emergency for food poisoning... the bathrooms had something that looked like mouse poop on the floor and there no hygiene products in the bathroom or toilet paper ....dine at your own risk and bring a first aid kit with you ... diners beware stay away for your own health and safety. read more

I had lunch today at TKO's The Sports Pub. I ordered a Breaded Chicken Parmigiana Sandwich. It was a big sandwich and I'm glad I didn't get a side order of fries, soup or salad (about an extra $2.50). The bun was warm and soft and toasted a bit on the inside. The chicken was real chicken breast (not processed chicken). It was a delicious messy sandwich and I'd get it again. The lunch price was about $8 Leslie was my server. Real surprise on that stretch of road. The place is tiny, and let's face it, a bit on the dated side, but it's clean, the taps run cold, and the food is remarkable. Had the BLT and side greek salad. The BLT was done properly so that it stayed crisp until the end and lots of bacon, and the "side" salad was a full large serving heaped over half the plate. Everything was fresh, especially the tomatoes, which as a single key ingredient will make or break either the sandwich or the salad. If you are looking for a great lunch and cold beer, with friendly service and that hardcore dated diner feel (that's a good thing LOL), then the TKO needs to be on your list to visit at Coxwell and Danforth. read more

TKOs is a very accessible neighborhood pub. We like to stop here on a weeknight for a couple of pints and a quick dinner. It is super convenient-- being located right in front of Coxwell station it's easy to get to on a cold winter night. They have an extensive menu with an interesting mix of pub food, casual Italian and Greek...but don't expect any microbrews. Their selection of burger toppings is long and interesting. My husband once said he ate "one of the best burgers he ever had here" and I appreciate that every burger can be substituted with a veggie patty and comes with delicious coleslaw. The service and food can be somewhat hit or miss. Usually right on, but there is occasionally an off day. I guess the best servers and chefs always need a day off. read more

I'm not giving TKO a four star rating for the food, drinks or ambiance -- they are getting it for character. Walking into TKO is like walking back in time -- it gives you a sense of what the Coxwell-Danforth neighbourhood was like 30 years ago. They remind me of certain dive bars in blue collar Irish/Italian Brooklyn neighbourhoods. As in Brooklyn, respect here is earned. There is a tough shell exterior to the bar tender and waitress, but once you get to know them they are very nice and friendly folks. The same can be said for many of the regulars. The beer is cheap, but not so cheap that it becomes a scary place (there are those on the Danforth too.) It's a bonified food place too -- I've had the burger and the wings -- they were pretty good. Overall, TKO wins on a Technical Knock Down (that's what it stands for) for character -- also being open until 2 a.m. every night helps. read more

Very rude manager. Me and my friend went there today and ordered some cocktails (very simple ones like: a manhattan, and martinis) the bartender seemed to not know how to make these very basic cocktails and told us to order beer instead. But the manager stepped in and made them for us; me and my friend were very quiet, seldemly talked, weren't rude, and tipped very well, however, after 4 drinks in the span of 80 minutes the manager came out and told us that she couldn't serve us anymore and that we had to leave. I was very puzzled by this since again, we were polite, quiet, and didn't do anything wrong, not to mention we weren't even intoxicated, so I asked for the reason of eviction, she told us that we drank too much and that we weren't allowed to be served more alchohol. I had 4 drinks and my friend had 3. I've never been kicked out of a bar in my life, yet alone after 4 drinks. The whole situation seemed bizzare to me, but long story short, inexperienced bartender (she was nice though) and very rude manager, would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Been there a number of times, haven't had a bad meal yet. Burgers are great and a bargain on Saturdays (half price) Beer is always cold Service is great, a tad slow when crowded but that leaves time for another beer. Chicken Parm is a close second to the burgers, both the dinner and sandwich don't leave any room for anything else. Has it been a while since seen an update in the decor? Absolutely! Well, let me just start off by saying that this used to be "5 stars woohoo as good as it gets" as far as sports pubs go. I've been going to TKO's with my hubby for 15 years (him even longer) and family and friends, and ALWAYS ordered wings (usually 50 pcs to share), large Caesar salad, and occasionally the Saturday 1/2 priced burgers and nachos. I say used to be 5 star because now it's barely even 1 star! There is a new owner who has completely removed everything that made TKO's what it was and even on a Saturday night (when a pub should be poppin') you'll be lucky to see 5 old bar flies sitting and sipping away on whatever is on tap. All the sports memorabilia has been removed and the walls have been painted white. The awesome waitress that has been there forever is gone (probably because she's smart enough to know when to abandon ship), and the food menu has been completely destroyed! Some items are removed from the menu altogether, which isn't that big a deal, however all prices have noticeably increased... especially the wings. IMO this was THE ONLY place in the GTA to get wings.... well I'm sorry to say it is no more and I don't know if I will ever have another restaurant/pub wing pass my lips again. Before the menu was butchered by the new owner, wings here were sold by the piece (10's, 15's, 20's) and to order 50 it was around $60. Now they are sold by the pound; 1lb for $14 (which amounts to 8 wings) and 2lbs for $25 (which amounts to 16 wings)!!! So for us, ordering 6lbs would only get us 48 wings and cost $75!!!! OUTRAGEOUS! Plus, the burgers are now paper thin... honestly a 1/4 pounder from McD's is thicker, and forget about getting the coleslaw with your 1/2 priced burger on Saturdays because apparently, "It's no longer included with the 1/2 priced burgers, only full price"! And the nachos....smaller portion and soggy; forget it! So if you think you're going to get a big tasty bang for your hungry belly buck at this place, trust me those days are LOOOONG gone! Such a shame because this was an awesome spot on the Danforth for decades; now I give it a couple months tops before it's boarded up and closed for good. read more

Hi Guys...Well, not all great things are meant to last and unfortunately since my last extremely positive review, TKO's has changed management and simply isn't the Go-To place for wings (or anything else) anymore. My first review was based on how the place used to be, since the management changeover the décor inside went from a Toronto Maple Leafs love-fest with the coolest trinkets and sportsbar adornments throughout the establishment. When the décor was removed, we asked what was happening, and we were told that they were renovating. Well the last time we were there that Reno was still stuck in the same spot with all the nail holes and bare walls screaming out for some actual flavor. Speaking of flavor, although the menu content remained very much unchanged, the prices have shot up dramatically and the portions have been pared down as well. I have no problem with a place raising prices, but you would expect the quality and quantity of food to remain consistent. It has not. And the new owner appears to make up the rules as she goes along. The Saturday "Half Price Burgers" special is still in existence, with the said price increases in tow, but on the menu, as it has been for years, states that coleslaw comes with the Burger. The first time our entrees were delivered to us without coleslaw, the woman who we assumed was a new waitress at first, told us that the kitchen was all out, with no offer of some kind of replacement. The next time we returned to the pub, again our burgers arrived without coleslaw and we inquired with the same woman who we now know is the new owner told us that the coleslaw doesn't come with the 1/2 price burgers, when we said that it is shown on the current menu, we were shut down and told that it doesn't come with the burgers anymore unless you order off the regular menu. Lastly, what once was the crown jewel of this place, the chicken wings have also suffered in taste, quality and quantity. Previously the wings on the menu were ordered by groups of 10, 15 or 30 at what was a good price. Now, the menu has been changed to match many other wing places these days and the wings are sold by the pound, and there is a dramatic difference in the size and quantity you receive for the money. The place has gone from a vibrant sports bar on the Danforth to a place where old men come to drink and drink and drink. The food, which was once top notch can no longer be recommended nor counted on to be of quality or worth going out of your way for. Now this place is a no-atmosphere shell of it's former self and unfortunately my family and friends are currently trying out other places to be our new go-to place for wings. The last time we were there the owner struggled to step over our family in order to put these discount Christmas snowball lights on in the front window and said to us that if she didn't put them on that no one would know that they're open. It's pretty said that the new chosen décor consists solely of three illuminated snowballs from the Target bankruptcy as opposed to the vibrant glowing neon lights and the happening atmosphere that once adorned this facility. There are FAR better places to spend your time and money now and enjoy good food and good times. My recommendation is to avoid this place now. And PLEASE don't tell them that William sent you, because we don't go there anymore. read more

i was not impressed with the attitude of the staff member i met at this venue. i was searching for a beverage before last call and ran across this venue as those nearby me had already closed. despite the the door being unlocked, the person to the side told me "sorry...we're closed. it's after 2 o'clock." in informed him it wasn't as it was 1:50am and as the door shut he said "you know what?...". i opened the door again to get his feedback. "maybe you if you meant something you would come earlier". i had money in my pocket and simply wanted a couple beer to finish the night...enough to pay the wages of the bartender. this attitude is NOT welcoming. i owe this bar nothing and was treated like i do. if you are closed then lock the door. don't treat me like an unwanted person if the door is open...and before 2am. i will never go back to this location. read more

Dropped by here for a drink and some food after a soccer game on a Tuesday night. My friend's bf has been coming here for years, so he recommended that we drop by. It was that old school feel (prob because they haven't changed the furniture since they opened hahaha), but it feels really cozy and homey. The staff are really nice and always check up on you. At the time, there was only one woman working the floor and she did great attending to all the tables. I decided to get a beer and some honey bbq wings with fries. OMG. The wings. That's all I really need to say. I could end the review here, but I'm going to make you drool instead :D The wings were huge! HUGE! They were also sauced up, but not to the point where the amount of sauce was overwhelming and gross. I loved how much sauce there was. Perfect. The wings were also crispy and juicy and amazing and just soooooooooo gooooooood. Honey BBQ is a winner... you should try it. I got my fries well done and they were also great. Yum! To anybody living in the neighborhood you will understand our food options are limited to certain fast food chains and that can get old. I am not usually a bar person since I don't drink but I gave this place a try with my wife and wow the food is good!. The price is equal to the fast food restaurants in the area but much tastier. I recommend most their burger menu, although I haven't been disappointed with other options yet. Definitely go for their burgers... plus they're half price on saturdays... so cheap! Ignore the unappealing exterior look and come here for delicious affordable food with your date (although beware of big game nights because it will be packed with sports fans) Otherwise... enjoy! read more

I used to go to TKOs for the back patio pretty much every night after work. However, I have been calling there all week to ask if the patio is open and am getting told the haven't opened it yet. What kind of idiots would rather lose potential business then take a few minutes and drag out those plastic tables and chairs? A couple days ago I thought, "hey, its warm night maybe I'll stop by for a pitcher," FAIL the waitress told me that "it wasn't open tonight." What the actual f*ck? Had it been open I would have already had dinner and drinks there at least four times already. read more

I went to this place a couple weekends ago in search of some great karaoke I'd read about online. I arrived and the place was fairly empty. There was no entertainment happening other than a couple tvs showing sports events. I sat at the bar and waited several minutes to be acknowledged by the staff. The beer selection on tap wasn't bad. It was St. Patrick's-ish so I got a Guinness. The bar tender and server both seemed to hate their jobs and the locals were barely speaking to each other, just staring at the TVs. Total depressing vibe. After my beer I asked the bartender about the karaoke and he told me the karaoke room was long gone and was now an apartment but he told me to go to a place just down the road. During my half hour there I also heard him refer two other walk-ins to other bars. Why send people to other businesses instead of fixing your own? I don't know. This Sports Pub and Restaurant has THE BEST FOOD on the Danforth bar none. I think I have sampled almost everything on their menu and must state with all honesty - that their food is delivered in large serving and is always delectable. The owner obviously knows the importance of using the freshest of ingredients and clearly knows what to do with food!!!! Their Mexican style quesadilla has to be the best in this city. Their Burgers are flavor filled and served with the nicest and creamiest coleslaw this palette has ever had the pleasure to enjoy! Their chicken wings with honey/garlic sauce are huge, delicious and full of flavor and always served with beautiful fresh, crispy carrots and celery. Their wings are seriously messy and seriously delicious. I must add that they have a different daily soup that is always great, hot and never too salty or oily. Coupled with all of this, if you are in the mood for Spaghetti with meat sauce. I defy you to find wings more perfectly flavored. Their prices are very reasonable and they know the importance of offering daily specials. I recommend this pub and restaurant highly. Been going there for years. Loved the nachos. The wings were superb, until they burnt them so badly one night. 2 of us out for dinner, not late, 8pmish. Ordered nachos and wings. Nachos arrived about 20 minutes before the wings and the wings were burnt. So badly I told the waitress to try one which she did and promptly returned them to the kitchen. They didn't charge for the wings. On a better note, they have a wonderful roast beef dip. Stupendous burgers. My sister and hubby love anything chicken sandwich. No fails there. I find the staff very attentive. Tv's bug me but I'm not there to watch a game. One bad experience there in 23 years. 4 stars. Had to take one off for the state of the washroom facilities. For years they had a very wobbly railing, going downstairs. I was there in June of this year, and one ladies was broken and closed, the other was leaking with a dirty bucket under the leak.
