I came here for a team lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The place was easy to find, with plenty of parking. We were greeted warmly by the server and led to our seats. The tables were clean, and there were lively pool matches happening all around. We started off with lunch. I had a salad and got some extra chicken and wow... some of the most tender, flavourful chicken breast I've ever had dining outside. I went in with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised. Update of review for 2025: Cornerbank is a bar/pool hall with a darker aesthetic. (Low lighting) We went for happy hour (4-6pm on a Friday) and had $5 bar rails, $7 chicken bites, and full price pretzels $9. We played an hour of pool on the 9ft tables. They also have 7ft tables for rent. The chicken bites were really good in a Nashville sauce (a bit spicy). The pretzels were served hot with a honey mustard sauce. Both were great and I would definitely eat again. Overall the food this time was much better and the drinks weren't too watered down (ask for less ice). Positive experience! read more

So much has already been posted about the 3 dozen pool and snooker tables that I won't repeat. All I'll say is wow! My focus is on dining on a large patio that was completed last year. Quite nice I must say and the vehicles motoring along Warden Ave at the northeastern corner of Ashtonbee Rd should fade away during your social. Our party of 2 were cheerfully greeted and seated by a staff member (all were wearing masks like us). There was some thought about starting the dinner out with a bucket of 5 Coors Light tall boys for $20 but I'm driving; regular price is $5.30 each. A bottle of Corona $5.75 and a 20 oz draft of Coors Light $6.15 please! Ciara came back with our cold drinks as we hoisted it to the view of a setting sun. Ah...a patio experience...finally! Paper menus might be the new norm for the foreseeable future with social distancing measures in effect. Food? One cannot go to a bar and not order wings so 2lbs Cajun Wings $26.00 with Sweet Potato Fries (add $1.99) substituted for regular fries (as another Yelper suggested). Kick in a Greek Salad $10 to check off the veggie a day box. Well, these wings and yam fries are now King on my list and unseated my former number one wing place (not named here out of respect for The Corner Bank Sports Bar and Grill). Our teammate found this poolhall/bar and we came here last Tuesday to try it out. The pool hall is massive, equipped with so many pool tables, most ive seen inside a poolhall. We sat on the newly renovated patio that was spacious, modern looking, open and had TVs. The staff were all very nice and welcoming, making jokes and doing there best job serving our large group. Tried the platter of wings which allowed up to 3 different flavor choices and came with fries, and veggies. This fed 4 adults, it was a good amount. We chose the homemade jerk, honey garlic and Thai chili. We all really enjoyed the homemade fries that tasted fresh and reminded us of swiss chalets original fries. I did not like the homemade jerk flavor as it didn't quite resemble jerk and it was quite sour, can never go wrong with honey garlic and the their chili was average, needs more pop of flavor. The Corner Bank is a great place to come and watch all sports. They have multiple TVs and kindly switched the games on some projectors to the basketball game that was going on. Took a little while, but understood because they were a little busy. The space in here is pretty big. There are a lot of pool tables. Nice place to play some pool and also watch a few games while drinking a few beers. Food was decent. The wings were actually pretty good, and a little salty with the lemon pepper, but I like salty so it worked out for me. I ordered the butter chicken plate, and it was a nice portion. Moderately priced. The server was excellent and extremely polite. He did not mind splitting the check three ways, and always served with a smile. This is my favourite pool place to go to. The outside looks a bit sketch but the inside looks totally modern. The prices are about 15 per hour. Parking is also kinda annoying to get to but other than that it's a great vibe place with clean and different sized tables. One of the times I came, I hosted a birthday party for about 30 people. The managers and staff were very friendly and helpful in having me set up everything. I ordered trays of wings, pizza, sandwiches, spring rolls. Their calamari was really good. They even deep fried their peppers. It came with two different sauces. Do not order any of their pastas. There was one commonality between the pastas we ordered and they were too oily. If you want something that is healthier, do not order their pastas. Their salads were typical salads with lots of variety. With our burgers, we ordered yam fries and they were fried really well. It was crispy and not oily at all. They were better tasting than their regular potato fries. Their NY cheesecake was really good. I highly recommend it. The space was very spacious and we brought 14 people and they were able to accommodate us. We were disappointed that they did not have ping pong during the weekends -- only billiards. I recently organized a company social event at The Corner Bank and Jim and the team took care of us really well. They basically told us to show up and everything would be ready and it was! Great service. As far as the pool hall itself, I've been in enough pool halls in my life and this place is huge! It's well lit, great ambience, and a great place to play pool. Tons of TVs, tons of pool tables, tons of place to sit and grab a drink. The food was solid and the wait staff were attentive and friendly. Definitely not the stereotypical pool hall you are used to. Amazing and massive place, with many huge TVs inside playing hockey, basketball and all sorts of stuff. When we went, it seems to be a pool tournament and it was crowded but it looked like it regularly happens at the bar. Everyone looked like they were having a great time. This place manages to be a huge open room with rows and rows of pool tables without feeling soulless or uninteresting. It's unassuming from the outside, but inside it's very welcoming and well laid out. My friends and I had a great night and will definitely be back in the next week or two. Here are our observations: The place is brand new, so it's very clean and everything is in great working order. The drink/food prices are on par with most Toronto bars (meaning I can afford one drink+tax and tip, no food, but I blame my career choice for that, not the bar). The servers were friendly and attentive. I got the impression the two who served us may be new to serving/bartending, and a little unfamiliar with the menu. For example, I asked for a dry white wine and got something so sickly sweet it made my teeth hurt; friend's beer had way too much head for a Stella, etc. but they have the makings of good servers with some pouring practice and some wine tasting. Another friend of mine ordered a poutine after we watched one be taken to another table, but hers ended up coming pretty light on the gravy and with less seasoning than the one that went to the table beside us. The place is brand new (less than a month) so I figure the kitchen is still learning ingredient ratios and the problem should fix itself with time. After 45 minutes of nonstop Bob Marley music, we decided it was time to call it a night. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with Bob Marley, but it was a bit too mellow for a night of drinking/games and everyone started to fall asleep. All in all, this is a great place with huge promise. We spoke to a guy who seemed like he may be the manager (or even the owner) and he was incredibly funny, personable and interesting. I came here for some late night pool to celebrate a birthday. Place seemed pretty great, some of my friends weren't a fan of their food but the stuff I sampled tasted pretty good. Staff: Friendly and checked in once in a while; be aware that they won't be checking in as often as a restaurant should since it is more of a sports bar. Everyone seemed nice and were helpful. Ambience: There are a lot of tables and tables can be located nearby. We were able to eat, drink and play pool due to the proximity of everything. It's all well lit, and there were plenty of televisions playing different games to satisfy any sports enthusiast. Everything seemed pretty new and in good condition when it came to the pool tables. Lots of space to move to play. Could be considered a bit noisy but nothing that you wouldn' expect from an establishment of this sorts. Nice relaxing and frienly atmosphere overall. Food: I only sampled the nachos and the pizza. In both cases I would say it's bar food. Nothing stood out but reasonably priced and tasted alright. Went with friends last week as it opened down the street from my office about a month ago. Very large space with lots of pool tables. It was extremely busy for a Wednesday night. Rating is based on the place in general and the food and as you may have noticed, my reviews are generally based on restaurants/food. Corner Bank is fairly new so it's still in very good condition. Staff are friendly and very attentive. Hopefully this will stay the same even after their business picks up more (the place is huge and it was about just less than half full). Tables are also priced (hourly) reasonably. Could honestly see this as being a new hang out. As for the food, was pretty much your average bar type food. Pizza - I've had better pizza though it still wasn't too bad. Pizzas anyway are a hit or a miss (usually a miss) when served at a bar setting. In my opinion anyway. 3/5. Chicken Wings - I ordered the Maple Bacon Butter wings because... well bacon. The wings were large and were perfectly fried to a crisp. They were also very juicy. The sauce however was a bit underwhelming. First bite was nice but then after that it was just meh. Ended up being too greasy to my liking. Then again, it is butter. I have had buttered wings before and though just plain, even that was in my opinion, a little more enjoyable. I'd definitely order the wings again just not this flavour. 4/5. Sweet Potato Fries - Was very nicely crisp and went great with their chipotle mayo. Would definitely order this again. 5/5. This pool hall has great Diamond pool tables for CPA, 9 footers and lots of snooker tables. The staff is courtesy and efficient. It's a reasonable $7.00 for a single player to practice and $13.00 for 2 people. Why it's $14.00 for 3 people and $15.00 for 4 people make no sense other then it's more money. It's a "clip joint." If you get involved in any of the games of "skill" put on for money, you're going to get hosed. Mr. White, the owner, charges teams for byes and playoffs. I have played for years and never paid for byes, ever. There are cash prizes, but all team pay excessive charges into the kitty. Players sandbag and there is no policing done at all. Complaints are not acted on. It's all a money grab with Queen Street priced beer. And Jim, the manager, is a pushy jerk with absolutely no people skills. I have no respect for this bar. My boyfriend and I were watching the Raptors game and as we were leaving, I noticed a pair of Prada glasses on our table where I was sitting . I assumed it belonged to the girls beside me, (as we were sharing the table with them), so I left them there. The next day, my boyfriend stated that he forgot his glasses at our seat. It was then that I realized that the glasses didn't belong to those girls, it belonged to my boyfriend. I immediately drove to the bar and asked if they had the glasses and was told no. I then asked the manager if I could see the surveillance footage, which he allowed. On the footage, after my boyfriend and I left, there were only two staff members that came by to clean our table. Not sure who the first person was as he was not our server, but the second person was our waitress. Not once during the footage did we see any customers come to the table and "swipe" anything, which the manager said we'd check to see . When I went back to the bar to speak to the owner, he stated that there was no evidence that glasses were taken. But my question is, Is there evidence that the glasses weren't taken? Because it was, as it was right on our table. They say there wasn't any proof they were taken by anyone, although the establishment doesn't seem to have adequate surveillance that allows you to zoom in onto the tables. They also don't have surveillance footage facing the staff, as I would be able to see the glasses in front of the staff on the table. Instead, I saw footage facing their backs. This isn't a matter of I think. It's a matter of I know. And no matter how many times I've reiterated that, management continues to state otherwise. I would have expected his glasses to be taken by a customer, (which in that case, there would be nothing we could do as we do not expect management to know everyone that walks through their doors), but again only their staff was seen on camera by our table clearing it. Not customers, staff. These glasses were expensive, and it's going to be expensive to replace. People, if you're choosing this bar, check and then double check when leaving, as there are no adequate footage for the dinning room area and your items on the tables. Never will we come back to a place that that dismisses what the customer knows to be true. Instead of telling me there's no proof, when their cameras aren't even set up in a way to throughly prove that, they should find out which staff is compromising the integrity of their business and deal with it accordingly. read more

I've never paid to play pool before, probably because I'm a terrible pool player. I'm all sorts of uncoordinated. That being said, this was a much needed stop on Food Tour 2.0 (Scarborough Edition). Best place to play pool or snooker in Scarborough! Diamond everywhere for the pool tables, and the snooker tables are very nice to play on also. I have not had food here myself, but while playing pool (on several occasions), I overheard people mentioning how good the food was, so I guess the food is worth the shot even if you have never tried it before. Waitresses are nice to you too, and often ask you whether you want something to drink, so I guess that's good customer service too, so bonus points! As for the restroom, it is the best I have seen among all the pool halls I have visited in Scarborough. read more
