This place may become a favorite. We found out about this new restaurant online and wanted to try it. The online menu looked very promising. Their online reservation app, once I signed up it worked well, despite starting with a wait time of over an hour. We arrived with 15 minutes left and checked in and got our table shortly after. The French pressed Kona coffee was very enjoyable. I never had French pressed before, so there was a bit of fun pushing down the plunger. Surprisingly, I chose a breakfast entree not on the online menu, Yankee Shrimp and grits, and it was awesome!!! For an additional bit of fun, we ordered the bacon lollipops, which were very good also. Edwin, our server, was exceptional. I plan to be back a lot in the future. read more

Our server was excellent but the food was underwhelming. My wife had the Wilber Skillet and I had a Classic Pork Roll Sammy. The skillet was way too heavy on potatoes and lacked proper amounts of avocado, bacon, tomato, etc. The Pork Roll Sammy was weak also. The cheese had a strange texture and appearance and the bagel was small and looked and tasted like a Lender's bagel. We do not plan to return. read more

The food and French press coffee was amazing. I ordered the health freak combo which included the power grain pancake. It's made with oats. I wasn't sure how it was going to taste but it was absolutely delicious. It also came with the mini CrossFit omelet which was also delicious and two pieces of chicken sausage. Very busy place on a Sunday morning/early afternoon. Lots of coffee and hot chocolate selections to get that morning rush. Tried one of the skillets which was good, potatoes had a little spice to them which is not described on the menu. It is not too spicy but be prepared if you do not like your food to have a bite to it. Hostess was very welcoming. As mentioned above it is a busy place so the servers do not check back as often as you may like. Will go again to try other menu options for lunch. read more

I called for breakfast and 2 juices. I requested the juices have no ice since they were already cold to begin with. The gentleman that answered the phone then said well I can only fill the juice up to about halfway. He proceeded to say it's an expensive drink and the poor of the juice is to only be a certain ounce which is crazy for a juice that costs $8 to only be filled half way . I felt taken advantage of and ripped off . For $8 a drink that should fill the whole cup . FYI- even with all the ice in my cup ..it still wasn't even filled half way !!! read more

What a local gem! went on a Thursday for late lunch with a friend for the first time. Beautiful and inviting inside, love the decor! Staff was so friendly and welcoming with big smiles, such a nice relief from life's stress. Food was fabulous and reasonably priced compared to other chains and diners in Bergen county. I had the 1/2 and 1/2 combo which included a sandwhich on very tasty bread and turkey chili which was delicious. Service was fast and we enjoyed a leisure lunch, not feeling rushed out at all. Service was great! Pot of coffee left on table to fill your cup when ready. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Shareable platter for my breakfast. It was served on a wooden tray(nice touch) withe cucumbers, sliced tomato, pickled onions, whipped cream cheese, a piece of avocado all of the aforementioned were sprinkled with everything but the bagel seasoning again nice touch and smoked salmon in the corner of the board. That salmon was a disappointment. Instead of slices of the salmon there were torn pieces and certainly not enough to share. Now I understand that this restaurant just opened so this is an area that needs improvement. There should at least be 1/4 lb of sliced smoked salmon on the tray. Overall ok... food was kinda disappointing: poached eggs were vinegary and cooked on the inside. Soup was thick, salty, and fake tasting. Chicken in sandwich and salad were huge rubbery chunks with fake grilled marks on them (like Cheesecake Factory's). French toast was good. Went twice, delicious food both times far superior to a diner which is the norm here in Jersey. The waitress the first time was excellent and was so patient and helpful. The waitress the second time was decent not quite as sweet but still did a good job. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is a friend of mine was told she needed to be out in 45 minutes when she arrived because they had a time limit. I was told no such thing when I went and it was busy then too. I assume it was crowded the day she went but it still left a bad taste in her mouth and she felt rushed. We were told that the wait would be 10-15 min for a table for 4. We waited over 30 mins for a table and noticed that other people who came in way later than us be seated first. They told me that they were being seated first because a two people table opened up. I went to the bathroom and happened to pass those people and they were seated at a four people table. I brought this up to the employee and her first excuse was, "It's because we need to clean your table". There were plenty of open and set tables and I mentioned it to her. Then she changed up her words and states that we weren't being seated because the waiters? She gave no apology and was very unprofessional. read more

Reading the reviews had me expecting a wait time, which there was. My friend and I were told 30-45 Mins, it took nearly an hour almost causing us to just pick a new place. However, while looking through another place to go to nearby, we got the text our table was ready. From there on the service was amazing, our waiter was very attentive and always nearby. The food surprisingly did not take a long duration, despite there being 2 of us. I got the western omelette and I'll gladly admit it was delicious. read more

DO NOT COME HERE ON THE WEEKEND! They have some nonsense waitlist. We were told 35-50 minutes. At 50 minutes we were told another 15 minutes due to call aheads. Um no. So many empty seats that apparently couldn't be sat bc of "staffing issues". If I was the owner and I saw how much money I was losing bc of poor management I'd be pissed. Last time we came here we were seated right away and then twenty minutes before we got a server for even water. Manager said it was bc of shift change lol. Wtf. The tall male manager is rude and dismissive. I don't know who owns this place but they have some work to do. read more

I had a terrible experience here. We added our name to the waitlist before we arrived, we got there and checked in and they said it would be a 15 min wait. After 35 minutes, they finally sat us. When we sat down, there were 2 cups for a party of 5 and one little jug of water. When we finally waved down a waiter he acted surprised that we even need more cups. This place was seriously the Turning Point of our ride home from the airport. If you like foods such as bacon, eggs, waffles flapjacks and assorted cuts of the potato in the morning--guess what..They have all of them. The staff all seemed happy to be there, and the place just oozed coffee smell. Bad news is you're taking your life into your hands exiting the place into a sea of bad New Jersey drivers. Just went for the first time today and it was wonderful. Great ambiance, extensive menu, lovely staff, and the food was excellent. The portions are huge and I ended up taking half home. The first two times were great. Except for drinking glasses. Spotted and debris on it. Today we waited ten minutes to b seated. At least forty minutes for slightly warm food. The water glasses were disgusting. Got replacements and when my husband poured water something white was floating it. No thank u my husband went to car for his bottled water . I wasn't sure if I should just seat ourselves but just waited another 5 minutes until someone said they would be with us. HOLY MOLY. We are regulars at Turning Point and appreciate that there may be a wait to get in. Getting "on the list" BEFORE arriving is a great help. Until today. Our name went on that "ahead" list at 12:09. We checked in at the desk upon our arrival at 12:20. At 1:00 I was chatting with a fellow customer who happened to walk into the restaurant at the same time we did and was just getting seated. He told me that they had NOT put their name on the "ahead" list. When I questioned the hostess at the desk about this the server with the purple ponytail opened her big mouth and told me I cant ask other customers these questions. SERIOUSLY? I happen to be a very nice person (that particular server has been the recipient of my good nature) and it was NONE of her business to say anything to me. I DID NOTHING WRONG. I DO NOT NEED TO BE REPRIMANDED BY A SERVER. We left Turning Point, NEVER TO RETURN. At 1:20 I received a phone call that our table was ready. HA. Overall a great experience! I came with my parents for breakfast. I got the Catalina cornbread French toast which was delicious. My parents got to try the French press. Service was friendly and responsive. I think the decor makes it look like a fancy backyard too. I felt bad reading the first review since I know they only opened a few days ago and I think they were probably figuring things out still, but I loved my experience and will definitely be back! read more

Food average. Ambiance nice and open Service lacking They need more help. Many dirty tables and many waiting for a table. We waited 5 mins for someone to take our names then waited 45 mins even though they told us the wait time was 25 mins. We arrived to the restaurant at 11:43am and finally walked out at 1:45pm. Between waiting for our table, waiting for our drinks, waiting for our food, it was the longest brunch I've ever experienced. Quite disappointing. Breakfast time is about coffee and great food! We visited Turning Point today at around 10 am. The wait was about 25 minutes, so we sat at the bar. We ordered French press coffee, breakfast skillets, and Shakshuka: - We never got coffee! After multiple reminders to the waitress and people who brought food, it never happened! Needless to say that breakfast without coffee is not the most incredible experience in the morning if you are a coffee drinker. - Shakshuka - it was three eggs in a warm salsa sauce. This is not how you make shakshuka! - We sat at the tall tables that considered the extension of the bar. The waitress approached us once and was never to be found later on. The gentleman behind the bar was kind enough to take our order. We asked a few other waiters to help locate ours, but they said they did not know who was serving our table :) What a mess!
