This is something new which I was not aware of that. It was a Turkish style menu and Turkish coffee the place it's right on the corner when you get off the train if you're looking for something quick, this is not the place for you. We went on a Sunday as there was two parties that were finishing that were 4 to 5 people you had a couple and another set of girlfriends sitting in this restaurant so basically what I'm telling you is that the restaurant wasn't as busy as far as the waiter and the waitress. They seem like they didn't know what they were doing. The gentlemen took our order and our order wasn't even that much never came to the table to check on us or tell us that the food is coming so the service needs a little bit of improvement. As well as the kitchen, maybe there is a communication barrier They also have pastries that are Turkish and it looks like Greek as well. It was like a vibrant atmosphere as far as it being so clear to sit there. You also had an option to sit outside, but unfortunately that day it rained so we do not sit outside and the service is why I gave it to Stars that I did. I also didn't understand why there was bread given to the tzatziki sauce. They did not have hummus and the waiter didn't know and came back and was like would you like tzatziki that's fine and it was like two pieces of sourdough bread then I asked for more bread thinking that they were going to bring out a pita is so happened that it was just four pieces of Wonder bread toasted it ruined the whole vibe for me because if I'm supposed to be at a Mediterranean restaurant and I'm having tzatziki hummus. What have you the best way to have that is with pita bread! So between the service and the bread, that's what brought my three stars. The food was good and fresh though.

While searching for a brunch place, came across this restaurant in Ridgewood. It is right next to the train station, so there's a beautiful view from the massive glass window, feels wonderful to sit by the tables near the windows. The restaurant is gorgeous inside as well, with beautiful natural lights and modern furnishing. Within the restaurant they also have a bakery section where they sell pastries, bakery goods and coffee/teas. The menu has plenty of Mediterranean style brunch dishes. During my multiple visits, I got to try several different dishes. The crab cake benedict was my favorite, beautiful dish and equally tasty. Was little disappointed with shakshouka as it lacked some flavor, and overwhelmed with the egg. Eggplant parmigiano was solid. Pancake and mac & cheese both were for my daughter from kid's menu, and loved them both. Pancake was soft and fluffy with lots of fruits and whip cream on it. Mac & cheese was soft creamy. The service was nice both times. Our dishes came out within short time during both visits. All staff members were friendly. On nice sunny bright days, this is an excellent spot to dine in with some delightful view.

Nice brunch spot at downtown Ridgewood. It's right by the train station, hence the name of the restaurant. The staff are nice and friendly. We were seated right away. I got crab cake egg benedict and Turkish tea. We also had kids mac&cheese, eggplant parmigino and Shakshouka. Egg Benedict is great, the running yolk right on the point. Crabcake is good portion and flavor. Turkish tea is pretty good (he forgot the tea, I had it to go at the end). Mac&cheese is definitely very very cheesy. eggplant parmigino has good flavor and soft. Good seating indoor and outdoor. Spacious and clean. Bathroom is clean. It's a good place for relaxing brunch or for small gathering.

Stopped by after seeing their new Biscoff latte all over social media and it did not disappoint! The latte was perfectly made: smooth, flavorful, and not overly sweet, which I actually appreciated. I'm already looking forward to coming back to try more drinks and check out their food menu. The baked goods on display looked super tempting too. Service was top-notch. The gentleman who helped me was really friendly and made the experience feel warm and welcoming. The vibe here is great...perfect for grabbing a quick lunch, catching up with friends, or even a casual date. Cozy, inviting, and definitely a spot I'll be revisiting soon.

    Simply awful art work!

It's a bit confusing at first. There's a counter with a person manning it with deserts and a drink menu but when I tried to order, was told to have a seat with waiter service. Ok, fine. Now there were perhaps three tables max of customers and a rather large staff mulling around, not sure what any of them were actually doing. There was an obnoxious woman seated upfront yapping LOUDLY and seemed to be related to the owner or manager. She never left and kept barking, I mean speaking. The music was as confusing, a mix of French and Turkish music, as that wall color choice and cheap outdated artwork on the walls. Now this place is huge in a prime location, such a pity. Funny thing as I placed my menu on the table, the guy who appeared to be the owner approached, took the menu and gave it to another customer. Odd, just like this place. I was going to order lunch but the gentleman next to me was not pleased at all with his and promptly returned it while mumbling for the next 10 minutes. So I stuck to a latte with a nasty aftertaste.

Passed this place many times and finally decided to visit for lunch. I ordered a Greek salad with steak which was $30. The steak was very chewy and overall not great. Salad was medium size. Not what you would think $30 for a lunch salad would taste or look like. Very underwhelming. My sister ordered their steak and eggs and was really excited to try this but we both had the same steak that was pretty low quality. Very bland steak. The egg was also very bland. The steak and eggs on the menu said it was served with fries which is what my sister was expecting but ended up with sliced potato's? Her dish was also $30. It was overall a pretty disappointing meal. The seating though is comfortable and ambiance is great. Just really wish the food was better. Service is subpar as well.

Perfect stop for brunch and coffee. Staff is nice and friendly. They are relatively new and still figuring things out, but they are on the right track. Worth a try for sure.

I swung by this place after lunch with some friends . It looked like a cute trendy spot so we decided to give it a try and it was absolutely wonderful ! They serve coffee, tea, and desserts mostly . We got Turkish coffee and Egyptian chamomile tea . We also had the blueberry cake which was unique and delicious . We also had the Dubai pudding ( chocolate pudding with pistachios) which was absolutely delicious ! The baklava was great too , the staff is very friendly and answered all our questions . It was refreshing to know that all of their desserts are made in house so you get what you pay for !You order upfront with the option of to go or for here and then you can choose to sit at any open tables . The place is very cozy definitely worth it !

I had Menemen for lunch. Scrambled eggs with tomatoes, bell peppers, and onions, seasoned with salt and pepper. It was very delicious!

They also have a chocolate shop next door. When I walked inside of the bakery, I felt transported to a pastry shop in France. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was super busy. Service was quick and efficient. I ordered a latte and a scone. The scone was very delicious and fresh. My boyfriend ordered a frozen hot chocolate and a chocolate éclair. I tried a bit of the éclair and we both agreed that it was the star of the show. I normally am not a big éclair person but this one was so chocolatey and rich. It was filled with this creamy, fresh chocolate filling. I strongly dislike the store bought cream filling that they are usually piped with. We sat at one of the little tables on the sidewalk outside since the weather was nice. I will be back if I am in the area and in the mood for a sweet treat!

We snagged one as people were getting up. I got a napoleon and another dessert that was chocolate mouse with Carmel and a biscuit cookie on the bottom. It was soo good. I don't live close by to it, so it takes some planning. They're known for their sourdough donuts so I had to have one, even though I'm lactose intolerant. Ordered the orange-pistachio cream doughnut on Ohhh my yumness -- it was SO good. Not really sweet/ definitely not overly sweet, which is so elegant. Not everyone gets the sugar balance on point but I'm a huge fan of their flavor balance. Could really taste the orange OR pistachio, maybe a hint of the pistachio, but no complaints at all. Every bite was really very enjoyable What WERE super duper sweet though were the staff :). Also no complaints there :) The coffee was also really good, too! You know how sometimes a bakery can be really good at some items but their beverages leave much to be desired? Not the case here. Space is cute and small but not small? There is a small dining room in the back. The decor is also "just right" whimsical.

If I hadn't looked them up, I would have never guessed that they were a chain. As expected, we were the only ice cream craving knuckleheads walking in on a 50 degree weekday, but on the plus side we had this cozy ice cream shop all...to...ourselves! We were greeted by an employee who walked out from the back and she presented us with the menu on an iPad since the TV screens above the counter were not operating. To sum up their menu - they specialize in mostly Asian-inspired soft serve ice cream creations that are instagram-worthy. Sure, you'll probably want to take 47 pictures of whatever you order, but the pictures really don't do the delicious ice cream justice. We ended up ordering one of their "Floteas", which is basically a bubble tea topped with a beautiful tower of soft serve ice cream. Specifically, we got the Taro Bubble Tea & Matcha/Taro Swirled Ice Cream, but there were multiple other flavors we EASILY could have been swayed towards. Not knowing just how gargantuan the Flotea would be, we decided to also order the Nom Nom Cookie Signature Mason Jar, which consist of Monster Cookie Ice Cream, Chocolate Crunch, Chocolate Syrup, Cookie Crisp, Marshmallows, and Oreos. Once again, another monstrosity of an ice cream order that could be shared by 2-3 ice cream lovers. Honestly, considering that the prices were around $10-$11 for just about everything on the menu, we should have knew that we were about to find out where every penny of that money went to. Let's just say, we loved, I mean, loveeeeed the ice cream. I especially was infatuated with our Flotea, mainly because I have had a major lifetime crush (if I can describe it that way) on soft serve ice cream and they made it to perfection here. Of course, it didn't hurt that the ice cream happened to be a matcha/taro swirl, which are 2 of my all-time favorite flavors. In addition, they also had Earl Grey Vanilla, Vietnamese Iced Coffee and a combo of both - did anyone say heaven? As for the Nom Nom Cookie jar, excellent. Unfortunately, we were stuffed to the gills from our lunch prior to coming here and, on top of it all, it was a frigid fall day, but we still thoroughly enjoyed the ice cream here and you can bet that we'll be back one day when we can actually feel our fingers after holding the ice cream for more than 10 seconds.

That being said, the tea is premixed so there's no opportunity to adjust tea or sugar level. Tapioca pearls were a perfect consistency. Chip City specializes in baking cookies with a soft, gooey center. After drooling over photos online, I decided to treat myself one night. The store is located on a main street in Ridgewood, so it's street parking only. When I walked in, I couldn't get over how cute and bright the store was. To whoever is in charge of the marketing, design, and logos... kudos to you! A sweet employee (I think her name was Chrissy?) answered all my questions and helped me out. Since I came later in the evening, I was worried there wouldn't be too many cookies available, but I was wrong. There were plenty AND they were still fresh too! They offer classic flavors as well as seasonal and artisanal ones. So many unique and creative options! They also have mini ones and thin ones (with less calories). Flavors are rotated weekly and you can check the website for the line-up. Each cookie is $5.50, but trust me... they are dense, large, and can be shared with other people. I decided on the 3 Box Special ($14.50) and got... *Italian Rainbow - MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE ONE! It's a tri colored almond cookie filled with raspberry jam and topped with dark chocolate ganache. The almond paste was so rich and the sweet jam was the perfect touch. A MUST TRY! *Chocolate Chip - A yummy classic. How could you go wrong with a brown sugar cookie with dark chocolate chips? *Fluffernutter - The description made it sound better than it tasted, so this was my least favorite out of the three. It's a vanilla sugar cookie with peanut butter chips filled with marshmallow cream. The peanut butter overpowered everything else. I feel like this would work better with a chocolate cookie. What I love about these cookies is that they don't just taste like a giant blob of sugar. You can actually appreciate and distinguish between the different flavors and ingredients. If you like crispy/crunchy cookies, you probably won't be a fan. If you enjoy cookies with a slightly crunchy exterior, but a soft, ooey, gooey (almost raw-like) interior, Chip City is for you!
