Great meal at Tryst. There was something for everyone on the menu here, everything was well prepared, good presentation and very tasty. Drinks were creative and delicious and our service was very attentive. We'll be happy to return here read more

We had a delicious experience at Tryst last night . We met a group of dear friends for dinner. The food was outstanding, encrusted salmon and the beef short ribs were big hits with our party of 5. The kale and brussel sprout salad is so good. This is an awesome neighborhood resturant . Our server was very attentive and pleasant. This is not our first time here and we will return. read more

Yum! Pork 3 ways was amazing! Shrimp tacos on point. Dates Delish. Not a complaint from anyone in the group.

I had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while now. We attempted brunch a few times but it was too busy. We made reservations for dinner recently and I must say I was very disappointed. The service was great, our waiter was super friendly and helpful but we were not impressed with the food. They don't have a big menu to choose from so you expect each dish to be perfected but this was not the case and it's pretty pricey. The sandwiches were plain, the truffle fries were sub-par and the risotto wasn't cooked enough and very salty. We may visit back for brunch because I believe that's what they're known for but we will not be returning for dinner. read more

Good not great. The food was good, served hot and well made, but it lacked creativity. The atmosphere is clean and crisp, but also lacking creativity. It's a good place with good food. read more

Went for Sunday brunch with my wife and sister-in-law. It was restaurant week (although we didn't go specifically because of that) and all 3 of us ordered off the restaurant week brunch menu. Got an easy reservation the night before via OpenTable for 11:00 (the opening time), first ones in the door. Nice looking place, seemed roomy enough and our booth was nice and quiet (even though it was in the middle of things, just inside the 2nd room). I'll go with an earlier reviewer that the coffee was a little flat and tasteless; none of us had any drinks (when I drink with brunch, the rest of the day is usually a wash). I started with the shrimp taco and had the eggs benedict for my entree. The shrimp taco was *amazing*. Artfully piled breaded & fried shrimp w/ veg and a mildly spicy aioli-like sauce. It was wonderful--very light, but lots of flavor. I could have eaten 4 for my main course... ...and wish I had, because the eggs benedict were a little disappointing, only because of substitution of chorizo for the canadian bacon (I knew it was done that way, it wasn't a surprise). The egg & hollandaise were superb, but I found the chorizo way too heavy & overwhelming, and didn't provide the salty counterpoint the dish needed. I didn't even finish it. The home fries accompanying it were good enough, but nothing to rave about. My wife started with the fruit & yoghurt parfait, which she said was very good, and the turkey panini, which was fine. My SiL started with the beet salad, which she said was great, followed with the hash & eggs. In sum? I'd go again, and I'd like to try it for dinner sometime as well. read more

My wife and I had brunch this weekend at Tryst and the food was excellent and reasonable. We paid about $30 for two large and tasty meals with juice and coffee. I would definitely go back next time I am in Arlington. Nice job on the ambiance as well! read more

Tryst is our regular go-to in Arlington for a low-key meal during the week. The food is certainly a step above regular bar food, including their signature Angus burger, but it is not so creative that it warrants a hefty price tag. Tryst made the change from trying to be a more upscale restaunt to embracing that people come for a great cocktail and above-average comfort food. I give them high marks for shifting to the needs of their core audience. read more

Went to Tryst on a groupon ($60 buys you $120) and had a phenomenal experience! The service was beyond reproach. For appetizers, we had mushroom ravioli and oysters, both delicious. Then we had the salad with apples, candied walnuts, and goat cheese - out of this world, that dressing made it all come together perfectly! For the third course, we had the scallops, which were broiled to perfection and came with butternut squash rissotto and brussell sprouts. We were too full by then to eat the rissotto, but ate the veggies and the scallops. However, being full didn't stop us from getting the chocolate tort which came with almond creme on the side and was to die for! Overall, an amazing, amazing meal and a lot of food! Highly recommend! read more

Great food and atmosphere. I love the shrimp tacos. I even order them for my meal. The burgers are awesome too. The French fries are really good too read more

I love Tryst. It is the perfect combination of class, comfort, warmth, and great food. Their brunch is great. Today I had the Eggs Benedict; others in our party had the Wild Mushroom Omelet and the Egg Sandwich. All were served with fresh greens and perfectly crispy potatoes and were yummy! The coffee is exceptional - rich, strong, smooth. We often stop in for drinks and small plates in the welcoming bar. Always great food and drink. It is reasonably priced, but not cheap. In a town with many excellent restaurants to choose from, Tryst is a favorite. read more

This place is amazing!!! Food is phenomenal- had the scallops - SO yummy! Appetizer of saugus chicken with tomato and ricotta amazing. We will be back!! Also, waiter was very nice and friendly. read more

Highly recommend! Food has been consistently excellent over the years (hosts can use a little more training, however)

Way too pricey, nuff said!!! They are one of the few places in Arlington that has a full bar though......Ur choice.

This is a bit of the city in Arlington. Great food. Nice ambiance. And, most importantly, the staff complements greatly the cuisine and space. Love the front bar space with the windows. The back space is less appealing, but the service and attitude compensates easily. We've been >5 times and will keep going read more

I absolutely love this restaurant!! Their food is amazing! And for those that thought their food was boring...u are crazy! My fiance and I go here a few times a year and never had a bad experience. Waitstaff is friendly, drinks are pretty good, and food is always over the top delicious! Yes this place is a little pricy but so worth it! read more

Brunch was so yummy! Upon receiving the menu, we happily realized that it was restaurant week. I started out with the banana nutella crepes and then had the mushroom omelet. Both were delicious, but it was the service that made the experience truly memorable. The staff were attentive and my coffee cup and water were constantly full. I had a great experience and can't wait to go back for dinner. read more

Excellent weekend brunch and service. They need to turn OFF the TVs on Sundays (at least until NFL football starts at 1pm). There should be no reason to be distracted from the nutello/banana crepes. Please turn off the distraction (an ad from an insurance guy was locked on one TV) and let me focus on my beautiful brunch date (and the yummy spinach, caramelized onion omelet). Bartender makes a great large Mimosa with dried/sugared orange slice as garnish - balances the big pot of loose leaf English breakfast tea. read more

In the past, this has been our go-to place for "nice" dinners out. We've probably been here about a dozen times over the past 4 years or so, and it seldom disappoints. The rare dish has been lackluster (a very dry roasted chicken springs to mind), but on the whole, you can count on a memorable meal. I think my wife's favorite dessert of all time was one she had on one of our first visits... and she has very high standards for such things. Went back again for New Year's Eve. First, very happy they have abandoned the prixe fixe menu they had for the last few years on NYE. It was a terrible deal when you broke down the prices (essentially you ended up paying about $10 or more for the meal than you would have ordering separately... but hey, in return you got fewer choices! Yay?) This time, they had a regular menu. Food, again, was fantastic. Perhaps better than it has been in quite a while. I had the lobster bisque for an appetizer. Good, but as always with these dishes, you really want a lot more lobster. I loved that they had a lobster fritter as an accompaniment rather than just some dull bread. Entree was short ribs/steak combo which was very tasty. Steak was perfectly cooked, and the rib gave you that stick-to-your-ribs comfort food experience. Dessert was Bûche de Noël cake. Nice, but the presentation of it was perhaps the best thing about it. But we have to dock some points for the renovation. The old room was nice and understated. Not super-romantic, but you could have a nice, quiet meal there. Now, it feels like a sports bar has collided with the dining room. TV screens... in the dining room? Really? Also, high-top tables take up a lot of the dining room. The noise level was off the chart, with music from the bar area flooding into the dining room. Granted, it was New Year's which is going to be noisy, but we'd been in the old dining room in past New Year's when it was packed, and never literally had to shout to each other across the table like we did this time. We'll still be back, but likely we'll hit it on a Tuesday night or something where we might be able to have a quieter meal. read more

Hi Yelpers!! I just wanted to share with you that I had brunch last weekend with a good friend of mine. I had a fruit cup and shrimp taco. And my friend had a breakfast dish that was plentiful. We were very happy and delight. The ambiance of the restaurant was contemporary and upbeat. I really enjoyed it a lot!!! I would definitely recommend to others and for hosting!!! read more

I used to really enjoy coming here, but my last couple of visits have been sadly disappointing. Our waitress was rather aloof and could'nt grasp how I wanted my order prepared. The hostess came over to clarify my simple request to hold back the butter and orange marmalade on the french toast. I asked for them to put it on the side and instead they did not bring them at all. The French toast was sopping wet and too sweet. The coffee tasted bitter and burnt and they brought a creamer with just 1/4 inch of cream which was inadequate. Water glasses were not refilled, they did not come around with coffee refills, you had to ask. The lighting was dark and depressing and could use some help. Our service attendant was the only one that was attentive, she deserves 5 stars. Two slices of french toast, a cup of coffee with tax will cost you $20.00. read more

Went here for Restaurant Week. Menu had a good selection at reasonable price. The flat iron steak was cooked to perfection and had great flavor. The pig under a brick was fantastic, would highly recommend it. Service was a little slow but we weren't in a rush. That's probably the only negative I would throw out but that's being picky. They were very professional. Two thumbs up. Try it out. read more

Absolutely love brunch at Tryst. The mushroom omelet with truffle oil is fantastic. Gluten Free menu. Can't wait to try the new restaurant in Newton. read more

Good place to go as a couple or with a couple friends. Very good burger. Make their own charcuterie - also very good. You start to figure out what to order and what not to - the big under a brick is a good order as well. I've gone back time and again because it is one of the better american food places in the area. i've never been for brunch but it looks good on the menu. this place can be packed on weekends. read more

We went for 11am brunch. The food was excellent when it arrived, but by 11:30 we didn't even have drinks. The kitchen seemed slow all around (other tables were waiting as well). The French Toast was excellent, Eggs Benedict were delicious, and the special omelet was to die for. Worth the wait if you have time, but don't go if you are in a rush. read more

I've been to Tryst for cocktails and brunch. Both were great experiences with fantastic food (eggs Benedict) and drinks. It was a bit pricey, though. read more

Delish!!!! This was the first time I've been to this restaurant in Arlington Center. It will definitely not be my last time. The food was so good; the presentation of the food was exquisite. read more

Amazing shrimp tacos and even better croquettes. Chicken and dumplings were yummy. I would leave the bolognese to the Italians but Tryst gives it a good shot. read more

Amazing food. Great, fresh, clean flavors. I am very hard to impress and very few restaurants leave me wanting to visit again. Waitstaff is a little too formal. They visit the table too often and I don't really need my silverware changed. Prices are surprisingly reasonable and the sangria is FANTASTIC. Will definitely visit again. Get the tuna tartar!! You will not be disappointed. Good value for a nice dinner out. read more

We enjoyed a recent brunch at Tryst. The wild mushroom omelet was packed full of mushrooms, spinach, and cheese. It had a great side of home fries served with it. I had the turkey bacon panini because I was feeling more lunch than breakfast. Both were generous in portion size and cooked to perfection. I am taking one star off for service. There were few diners present due to a recent snow storm but yet our server was slow to refill drinks. I look forward to trying dinner here in the future. read more

Of all the times that I have been to Tryst, which have been many, I have never had a bad meal. The service has always been great and quick. A great place in Arlington to have dinner and a martini. read more

I love this restaurant! I can't have gluten or dairy, and the folks at Tryst were incredibly accommodating. I had plenty of options as they were not afraid to make changes to fit my dietary needs. And it was absolutely delicious! There were four of us -- my husband and I and two friends of ours (locals who brought us there to show the place off). We all loved our meals. The place is comfortable, and the staff is friendly. Food is GREAT! read more

New menu is awesome! Everything was really yummy, from the fish taco appetizers, to our dinners (salmon and steak tips), to the AMAZING chocolate bread pudding with peanut butter sauce. OMG I felt so guilty eating that, it was so delicious. I have been here before for brunch, but not for dinner. Will definitely be back. It was my husband's first time here, and he asked why I didn't take him here sooner! (I've lived in arlington about 7 years now). Staff was very friendly too and service was great. No complaints, it was just plain excellent. read more

The service is excellent, but that's about it--and could have been a fluke. Sure, the place looks like an upscale NYC/Back Bay restaurant, but it ends right there. I understand tapas, but don't give us enough guacamole for half a person but enough fried chips for an entire table----for $10. The steak tips were supposed to come with some sort of "cheese croquette," but these were just disgusting, artificially-flavored globs of grease. The meat was overly chewy. Follow dinner with dessert, and you'll be disappointed. They had something called "Diablitos," described as "chocolate cakes topped with vanilla frosting and caramel sauce." They then arrived at the table, and I got it--THEY SERVED "DEVIL DOGS"--BUT THEY DIDN'T EVEN TASTE AS GOOD AS HOSTESS' (the **real** Devil Dog). The "cakes" were cold, the frosting lacked flavor, and there was a **tiny** drop of caramel sauce in a criss-cross across the plate. Thus, what they described as coming with caramel was merely a garnish. The drinks we ordered were alright and had the appropriate $10 price tag. But for the $160 my husband and I spent last night, there are a thousand other places I would go to. I'm glad I had a brief, one-night "tryst" with Tryst...and now the party's over and I'm going back to a real restaurant. read more

I have been here three times for brunch and it's five stars because of the food and because it =is= good for kids. Finding a place that serves "adult" food and is good about kids is hard to find! Our waiter immediately filled up my son's sippy with ice water when we arrived, and the complimentary mini pastries were terrific. We've had mini muffins, scones and cinnamon rolls. In particular, Saturday brunch is not crowded so you can have a relaxed brunch with a friend and the kids. I have brought my 2 year old and 5 week old here and the staff were solicitous and helpful. The ladies room even has a diaper changing station. My friend swears by their Huervo Rancheros. I've enjoyed the French toast and most recently the Ricotta Cavatappi which was surprisingly good. I like that the menu changes through the seasons. I have not had dinner here but this is my favorite brunch spot. read more

BEST BRUNCH in Arlington. Been here quite few times for both Brunch and Dinner. Their french toast, hash of the week and Huevos Rancheros are delish! Omelets are nothing special and I didn't really care for the breakfast pizza. The shrimp taco has to be one of the best tacos I have ever had. I have tried different entrees - all very good and the desert is always soooo good. Overall excellent food and service! read more

I have gone to Tryst numerous times over several years and REALLY love the food and service. In December, I started looking at Tryst to host an event for the 40th birthday of my spouse, since our house is rather small and I wanted someone else to handle the food, so that I could spend time with guests. I checked out rates with several places in addition to Tryst that we frequent (Flora and Rialto) and was so blown away by the Tryst chef/owner's flexibility with the menu, prices, and planning details, that it was a "done deal" to do it here in mid-January. After lots of email and phone discussions with the chef and one of the managers, I was confident that the passed apps, drinks, and desserts we planned out together would be fantastic. And, the event went off without a hitch. I felt like the two servers assigned to our party took excellent care to ensure that the guests, food, space, and service were wonderful. Many of our approximately 30 guests commented about how great the food and drinks were, as well as the ambience of the area set aside for the party, which was at the rear of the restaurant away from the TVs and the rest of the patrons. For dinner, Sat/Sun brunch, or a private party, I think Tryst and the staff are wonderful and recommend it to anyone! read more

My boyfriend and I had a Groupon that we used spring '13. Worst service we have experienced! The waiter was rude, the food wasn't worth even the Groupon price, service was slow. We ordered dessert as take-out because we went on a week night and after a slow service we needed to get home. We were all excited for a chocolate cake (because who can mess up chocolate cake?) and it was burnt!!! We tipped on the full value of our Groupon but definitely regretted doing so after our poor treatment. So sad because it's a couple minutes walk from our place and looks great from the outside. 1 star is for looks. This place is over rated. read more
