    Prime center-cut sirloin with fries
    Eugene W.

We ordered from their specials menu: a 14oz prime center-cut sirloin with fries for $55. This steak was everything I expected. Perfectly medium and seasoned to perfection. I couldn't have asked for anything more. The flavor was spot on and the meat was superbly tender. I was not a huge fan of the sauce that was on the plate, but thankfully it was on the side so I could choose not to eat it. It was a little too sour. Fries were pretty good, nothing extraordinarily good or bad. Service was pretty bad. They seemed moderately busy, so I'm not too upset that it took quite a long time for us to get our food. But each step of the ordering process felt really slow, and our waiter hardly noticed us (had to wait for water, had to wait for our menus to be taken away, had to wait for them to pick up the check, lots of trying to flag our waiter down). Even when we were trying to get someone's attention, anyone's attention, it was exceptionally hard. The manager (or I think he was the manager) occasionally came through to give the waiter a hand and point out we needed assistance. If it weren't for the manager, our meal would probably have taken even longer. Food: 5/5 Service: 3/5 Overall: 4/5 That steak was really good. Their menu prices are pretty high, but if their other food is up to par with this steak, then I would say it's worth trying.

With Tryst you get consistently delicious food and great service. Love that their menu rotates but they also keep their best sellers like the shrimp taco's. Opted for the mushroom tagliatelle with poached egg. The pasta was al dente and flavors all perfectly executed.

Weird NYE dessert... dark chocolate bowl with chocolate mousse, cotton candy, and ? pita bread cookies ?

I ate at Tryst for New Year's Eve, where they had a prix-fixe menu. The options for the starters all looked so good that I had a really hard time choosing one. The main dish options were only so-so, and there were not many choices. I settled on a kale/brussels sprouts salad to start, and a butternut squash puree in crepes over ricotta for my main. The salad was excellent - fresh, just the right amount of dressing - chef's kiss. But the main course was so unappetizing. I didn't finish it, which is very rare for me. The filling was more or less just butternut squash; not much flavor. It was wrapped in crepes that tasted stale, and they were fried in some sort of oil that made them super greasy. They were soaked through, and when I bit into one, oil seeped out. The dessert was the oddest combination of anything I've ever had for dessert. We were served small dark chocolate bowls filled with chocolate mousse (that part was fine. Nothing to write home about, but was good overall). The topping was the part that we all were commenting on. The mousse was topped with cotton candy, with what looked like two giant pointy "ears" sticking out on each side. Those were what I called "pita bread cookies," and that's exactly what they tasted like. It was as if the chef asked one of his/her kids "Hey, tell me what you want for dessert, and I will make it." It was so wacky. I uploaded a photo of it for visual reference. The atmosphere and service was fine, but nothing remarkable. For the price, and the experience I had with two of my three dishes, I'd recommend skipping this place.

There were many options to choose from but we do like to try places that are not always traditional. Hoping for a local favorite. Right on the corner, it is easy to find and with street parking easy to get to and enjoy a good meal and probably a late night gathering with friends. Rustic looking, it definitely put off the vibe of the local establishment for Arlington. We were the first customers that early afternoon. They were literally unlocking the doors when we arrived. The menu offered enough options to satisfy our dietary and personal preferences. Meats, chicken, fish and veggie options. You can find something. Staff was very friendly and attentive, but we were the only guest that early in the day. The crowd did pick up as we ate our meal. Large windows allowed you to sit and people watch on, what I would imagine is the Main Street for the town. It was Sunday so a little quiet so not a lot people watching today. Food was great and the presentation was a lot more than expected for a tavern. Full bar options and a good list of local craft beers. I love trying local beers when possible. A lot of space for seating during the day and I can only imagine the evening bar scene. Based on the number of people who did walk in while we were there to recover their credit card from the night before. Sounds weird but it totally gave off the local vibe. Love it. Very clean and tidy for a Tavern. Respectful place. Plenty of TVs to watch your favorite game so I enjoyed a chance to see one of the Sweet 16 games that day. So, if you are in town, give Town Tavern a visit.

The vibe is cozy and welcoming--no-frills décor, but thoughtfully laid out with a nice mix of low tables, high tops, and a long, inviting bar. It was fairly empty at first but became more lively as people trickled in. The staff really stood out, especially our server Sarah, who was warm, knowledgeable, and took the time to walk us through both the food and cocktail options without rushing us. As an extra touch, Chef Steve came out to our table to chat and describe a few of the dishes, which made the experience feel personal. Food highlights: * Firecracker tofu - perfectly fried cubes tossed in a hot-sweet Korean-style sauce; addictive. * Grilled broccoli - smoky, well-seasoned * Butternut squash soup - smooth and flavorful, elevated by roasted, ground squash seeds and a subtle curry note. * Polenta with short ribs - rich and balanced. * Smoked bluefish pâté - excellent texture though a little salty for my taste. Drinks: * Also Fancy - bright and fruity, but not overly sweet. * St. Peter's Bay - think mezcal meets Old Fashioned. * Bonus points: I asked for a custom gin gimlet, and the bartender delivered a fresh, mint-forward version that was amazing. Tall Order is a great neighborhood spot that's doing everything right. We'll absolutely be back.

The interior was dimly lit with exposed brick walls and sports on the TV screens. For drinks, I chose the 1, 2, 3, 4 mocktail. This was one of the best mocktails of my life! The refreshing early grey really balanced out the tangy mango cold foam with tajin. They had a substantial non-alc and low ABV menu, which I love to see. For food, we ordered a bunch of plates to eat family-style. Our server had recommended the Pickled Mushrooms, which I thought were just alright. My favorite item was the Burrata with gooseberries, and the Caramelized Onion Dip was pretty good, as well. I was really unimpressed with the Fried Polenta, which had the skimpiest topping of braised short ribs. Service was good overall, but our drinks kept getting bussed before we were finished with them, which was unfortunate. Overall though, a good experience!

I knew from the moment the smoked miso maple butter hit my tongue that we were in for a treat -- and that was just the amuse bouche with a nice lil' warm biscuit bite. Cocktails were also very good and well balanced, especially the one with butter-washed mezcal, charred corn, and lime. Chef Erin and her talented crew carefully crafted sheer magic with each dish from start to finish. Each element was thoughtfully prepared, with the flavors and textures coming together beautifully in each bite. Many of their purveyors are local or they directly forage some of the ingredients themselves...and you can tell, so fresh and delicious! All the dishes were wonderful but the star for me was the duck, which was cooked perfectly with bold and sophisticated sauces. I will definitely remember this meal. Service was impeccable and the vibes were relaxed, which was very noticeable given the busy kitchen we witnessed over the course of the meal. No yelling or banging, just a smooth team of talented folks (mostly women) making gorgeous food - some plates were truly works of art. Similarly the acoustics of the small room were pretty impressive, as it never felt too loud and it was easy to talk to my partner. After living in the PNW for 10 years, I finally found a farm-to-table place in the Boston area worth going to, and Urban Hearth is it. I will definitely be back!
