    Pretzel bites

The mothership has landed! My friends and I have been waiting for this place to open and it finally did! The restaurant is super cute with modern decor and plenty of seating. They have beers on tap and specialty delicious cocktails! They have a variety of appetizers, sides and entrees to choose from. We ordered their burgers, ravioli and chicken tenders. Everything looked amazing! The chicken tenders were nice and juicy on the inside and super crunchy on the outside, just how I like them. The mac and cheese balls were loaded with tons of cheese which was very creamy and rich. I was surprised by the dumplings because when I bit into one there were lots of juices flowing. I thought they were filled with a solid filling. My friends enjoyed their burgers and the ravioli also looked very good. We also really enjoyed the playlist which made us stick around for more drinks. We had a great time hanging out for a few hours. Finally! We have a nice spot to hangout after work hours!

Finding actual GF spots in Boston is hard ... People always mention the same 3 places and other restaurant options aren't very ideal or good. Mothership is a spot for you to check out loaded with options located right next to Alewife station. I would recommend just going the route of sharing plates here as it is a bit pricey but is kinda to be expected. Everything was pretty good and the chicken tendies definitely filled me up. My server was such a sweetheart and very helpful letting me know what kind of teas they had. The restaurant has a very laid back feel with some nostalgic music playing in the background. There was a shuffleboard-like table where some kids were playing, laughing and having some fun. We finished the night with a salted caramel creme brulee which was so delicious along with a big cup of tea. Located next to Revival with the same ownership, Mothership is a casual upbeat neighborhood restaurant and bar serving dinner, drinks, draft beer (10 taps), and cocktails. The place offers ample table seating, high tops along the window, and seating up at the long bar. I stopped by the Mothership for a late dinner after shopping. It took a while for me to find an open parking spot on the street in front of Mothership. The staff said the parking garage across the street is free for patrons in addition to apartment residents.  The hostess gave me food & drink menus and I headed to the bar and took a seat. The bar has 2 TVs, but no sound. There was 1980s music blasting over the speakers. The food offerings Indicate that this is a scratch kitchen, everything prepared to order. They offer a selection of shareables,  salads, main entrees (chicken, steak, salmon, pasta, vegetarian), and desserts. The pricing is moderate here, entrees $19-$27 range. For a starter, the Fried Pork Dumplings ($13 plus tax) were served very hot, 5 deep fried pork dumplings served with a soy chili dipping sauce. The dumplings wrap was thick and oily and very similar to an empanada fried shell and a good amount of ground pork balls in each.  For an entree, the Pappardelle ($24 plus tax) was a vegetarian style pasta dish with wide Pappardelle noodles tossed with shaved brussel sprouts, butternut squash, crunchy garlic, roasted mushrooms, parmesan and oil. This dish had an interesting mix of ingredients, a nice change from my usual bolognese sauce and short rib, which is what I get with Pappardelle.  I did request a box for most of the pasta since I filled up on the fried dumplings and had a huge dessert a couple hours before in Boston. The check was $41.57 with tax & 5% hospitality fee and before server tip.  Overall, this was a very good find for freshly prepared food close to the Alewife T station. The service was very attentive with the bartender keeping my water glass full and kitchen staff delivering my starter and entree. I would definitely stop in again for dinner, especially after a long day.

We are obsessed with Mothership and eat there at least once a week. They have great service and greater food. The chef Gabriel makes the absolute best empanadas! Their taquitos are also excellent as is their pasta. They have delicious mocktails and cocktails to enjoy at their various events and trivia. I cannot say enough about this place!

Great ambience and service. The cappuccino was very satisfying- rich and creamy. The calamari was good too. Shame that the tenders were a little dry. Would come again to try different dishes.

I live next door and finally saw that Mothership was open after more than 3 years. I stopped by for dinner with friends and had a nice time. The ambiance is nice and quiet, so it was great so socializing without yelling over other guests. The service was a little slow, but not unbearable. The food on the other-hand was alright. My friends enjoyed the pasta and burger, but my salad was very sad. I got chicken for some protein, but it was under-seasoned. It was a little dry and so bland I couldn't finish it. I took it home with the remaining salad to re-season it for another meal. For the taste and quantity, the food was on the more expensive side. We didn't try anything from the small bites menu, but I do remember seeing some expensive chicken tenders (2 tenders for like $10!). Since I'm next door, I'll give it another try after a few months!

This place is great in so many ways - food, craft cocktails, amazing servers - and you should definitely go and enjoy it. Go for date night, with the kids, with a group for trivia night, or just relax at the bar alone - all good times. And we happily bring vegan friends and have lots of choices! I always know a place will be good when it has a tight, focused menu, not all over the place, and has seasonal specials. We love the falafel, which is so crispy and comes on a generous mound of feta dip. Nice change from the usual tahini. Also the snap pea salad with grilled halloumi cheese. So tasty, and halloumi is a good complement. (The Caesar salad was slightly disappointing. The leaves were too chopped, and I was looking for longer, crispier romaine.) The tagliatelle pasta was outstanding, with nice fresh pasta and tossed with delicious veggies. The burger was delicious and the fried potato of the day are some of my favorites anywhere. My friends also like the pretzel bites - nice and pillowy, with cheese dip, and the mac and cheese balls and the pork dumplings. And the crab dip!!!! Piping hot, cheesy. Yummy and decadent. Finally, the chicken tendies are grown up comfort food. They are huge! So crispy and really great dipped. And great as leftovers. Also tried a few desserts that were yummy - the crème brûlée with peanut butter cookie was the perfect bday treat. They also have great specials. The only "constructive criticism" I have is about the decor, and the overuse of gluten free preparations. I know they opened in a hurry after a long delay, so I was hoping the cafeteria-like furniture would be temporary. It does feel like a work cafe when you first walk in. Also, there's a low counter at the entrance that just seems unfinished ? It seems to suck up space and not add anything- I wonder if that could be a bar or communal table? I also think some of the gluten-free preparations could also have a gluten-full counterpart. I'm biased, because I have a friend with celiac disease who can't eat gluten, and she laughs that people voluntarily "go gluten free", as it just isn't as tasty. I get it, and know gluten free is a popular "thing" and some people feel better not eating it, but I think the fried pickles, for example, would be so much better if there was an additional offering WITH traditional breading. Nothing like gluten + grease! And then sure, have gluten free stuff, but having it as the default detracts from the deliciousness. I think the best thing about it is the amazing people who work there. They are so professional and friendly and caring. It really feels like a welcoming neighborhood place (admittedly, in the oddest, office-parky neighborhood around.) Plus, it's easy to get to, right off the T or bike path and parking is not a hassle. See you there! Just don't take my favorite seat :)

The interior is spacious and the service was great. I fell in love with the chopped not-liver ($13), which is a delicious eggplant spread that doesn't taste like eggplant but has a great savory flavor with a slight wine aroma. The pita bread that came with it was so warm, pillowy, and chewy. This dish was just perfection. There's an eggplant dip (Oren's eggplant) in the Bay that I have been craving, and now I have something in Cambridge that is just as good if not better. The haus smoked whitefish ($12) was also quite good. It had a lot of fish but wasn't too fishy, had good flavor and came with crunchy crackers. The fish and chips ($24) was tasty as well -- the chips are really crunchy and the fish was flaky and crunchy, and the sauce was interesting and spicy. Lastly, we got the halva ice cream sundae ($12), which was pretty decent with a lot of crunchy bits. I'm not a big fan of nutty flavors or milky ice cream, so I'm not sure if I'd get it again. There is a 20% gratuity automatically applied (we had 2 people, so I don't think it's due to party size). Service was great -- people kept checking on us and refilling our water. In conclusion, the eggplant chopped not-liver was amazing and it's everything I've been looking for. I'm excited to try more of their offerings.

The vibe is cozy and welcoming--no-frills décor, but thoughtfully laid out with a nice mix of low tables, high tops, and a long, inviting bar. It was fairly empty at first but became more lively as people trickled in. The staff really stood out, especially our server Sarah, who was warm, knowledgeable, and took the time to walk us through both the food and cocktail options without rushing us. As an extra touch, Chef Steve came out to our table to chat and describe a few of the dishes, which made the experience feel personal. Food highlights: * Firecracker tofu - perfectly fried cubes tossed in a hot-sweet Korean-style sauce; addictive. * Grilled broccoli - smoky, well-seasoned * Butternut squash soup - smooth and flavorful, elevated by roasted, ground squash seeds and a subtle curry note. * Polenta with short ribs - rich and balanced. * Smoked bluefish pâté - excellent texture though a little salty for my taste. Drinks: * Also Fancy - bright and fruity, but not overly sweet. * St. Peter's Bay - think mezcal meets Old Fashioned. * Bonus points: I asked for a custom gin gimlet, and the bartender delivered a fresh, mint-forward version that was amazing. Tall Order is a great neighborhood spot that's doing everything right. We'll absolutely be back.

The interior was dimly lit with exposed brick walls and sports on the TV screens. For drinks, I chose the 1, 2, 3, 4 mocktail. This was one of the best mocktails of my life! The refreshing early grey really balanced out the tangy mango cold foam with tajin. They had a substantial non-alc and low ABV menu, which I love to see. For food, we ordered a bunch of plates to eat family-style. Our server had recommended the Pickled Mushrooms, which I thought were just alright. My favorite item was the Burrata with gooseberries, and the Caramelized Onion Dip was pretty good, as well. I was really unimpressed with the Fried Polenta, which had the skimpiest topping of braised short ribs. Service was good overall, but our drinks kept getting bussed before we were finished with them, which was unfortunate. Overall though, a good experience!

It was such a cute hidden area, and I was already excited before we even got to the place. We headed upstairs into the bar, and the vibe was perfect. I ordered the Elly the Elephant and my friend got the Laughing Gull, and we both really enjoyed our drinks. One thing I thought was really nice is that they allow you to grab food from the surrounding restaurants and bring it in to eat there. We didn't end up doing that, but we did get the charcuterie board they had. It came with cheeses, crackers, and some fruit, and you can add meats for $10, which we opted out for. I will say I was a little disappointed by the fruit portion. The menu mentioned fresh fruit, so I expected more than three thin orange slices and one sliced strawberry. HOWEVER, when I asked for more strawberries, our waiter kindly brought out a whole bowl for me, which I really appreciated. We stayed for about two hours, and as the night went on the place definitely got more crowded, so we headed out. Overall, this is such a cute and cozy cocktail bar. I'm eager to try some of their other drinks, since the cocktails were definitely the highlight of the experience for me. The dim sum portions were larger than I expected, which meant we ordered way too much food. We had the fried chicken, the cucumber salad, the shrimp, the pork wontons, the soy sauce noodles, the daikon/enoki dish (I forget the name) and the charred broccoli. There wasn't anything I didn't like, but I did find that the flavor profile seemed very similar for many of the items--it seemed like most things were topped with a generous portion of chili oil, scallions, and sesame seeds. I found that this contributed to a fairly uniform flavor experience and was getting a little weary of chili oil after several dishes. The food was also spicier than I anticipated (though to be fair, I have a low spice tolerance, so others might disagree.) I would have enjoyed some less spicy options to balance out our meal. Overall, all the food was good, though, but I think if I come back I'd get fewer items (3-4 would have been plenty for 2 people) and that might also help with everything blurring together. The service was great and our waitstaff was helpful and attentive.

We shared the pu pu platter for two, which was a bit expensive at 50-something dollars but came with a LOT of food. Plenty for two people and maybe even enough for four.
