I live in Belmont, and this place is literally like 3 minutes up the street from my house. I never knew it existed, though, so today I decided to come in here for the first time. I called him before I came and the lady that answered the phone was so sweet and so nice. When I came in, she noticed it was me that called, and she was trying to explain to me that she was still trying to talk to me and that I hung up on her. But the concern in her voice was because she thought she did me a disservice, and I'm the one that hung up on her. How cute and sweet is that. I ordered the Hungry Man special, and it comes with three eggs, two pancakes, two meat options, home fries, or shredded hash brown. My son got the Belmont, which is three eggs toast choice of bacon sausage or ham and home fries and corned beef hash. They have like seven different breads, so you have a wide option of toast. It's such a cute little diner, too, and small, but it's also big if that makes sense. The food was okay, and their bacon is amazing and perfectly cooked, there's sausage is so good, and the corned beef hash was on point, just like I like it. The home price could use a little bit more seasoning I feel like if they let me in the kitchen I can put some zest on it, I didn't like how my eggs came out and ask for over easy but it came out with that clear film on it and I don't like that my son asked for his eggs over medium and they were super runny and my daughter wanted scramble but they weren't that good so the eggs were the only complaint I pretty much have other than that this place is exceptional. They also have a lunch menu, which I am coming to explore soon. The prices are unbeatable, though. read more

The decor was disappointing, like a pizza joint. The coffee was bland and food was mediocre. The blueberry pancake was decent but a bit too cakey while not fully cooked inside. The omelets were ok. This place just feels right in every way. The owner greets us at the door, then sits down for a while with a table of regulars to talk baseball. The two waitresses are great... fast, friendly and always smiling. Food was perfect. This is what a town diner is supposed to be. I highly recommend this place. read more

Waitress delivered my food to the wrong table. Then when the customer told her she took the sane food back to the counter, let it sit while she got that customer the correct order. Then went back and brought that same plate to me cold. Then she had the nerve to ask why I was upset. Worst experience I have ever had and not a board of health best practice. read more

Let me start off by saying that I'm not usually a big fan of going out for breakfast because I think it's pricey for food that I can just cook up at home. However, this morning, my kitchen was a mess from the week, and I needed a good, hearty, quick breakfast to motivate me to get going. I remembered this place because I pass by it on my way to Ohlin's, and it's walking distance from my house. I didn't feel like taking the car out. There's no website to take a look at their menu online, and so I read all 15 Yelp reviews and decide to give it try. Once there, I grab a seat at the counter, and look through the menu. It's a very basic menu, nothing fancy, pretty straight forward diner food. The Yelp reviews mentioned the omelets and pancakes. Diner food at most places is the same old stuff, but you have to read customer reviews to know exactly where the restaurant shines. So, I go with a feta cheese and mushroom omelet, and it's served with toast and home fries. Since I'm at the counter, I can see the cooks working. I noticed how they were making the omelets and was worried that mine would come out overcooked. However, the omelet came out fine. The feta cheese was very tasty and the mushrooms were super fresh and thickly cut giving off a very mushroom-y flavor. The home fries were bland, but I soon found ketchup to be the answer. I put the standard grape jelly on my lightly buttered Scali toast. I washed it all down with orange juice. Overall, the plate was very well balanced in terms of flavors. There was no need for salt or pepper. My only gripe is that I wish there had been more home fries! It's okay though as I'm mindful of my carbohydrate intake. It was enough food to feel full and to feel that I got my money's worth. For $15, including the tip, I thought this was a good deal. I would come back again! read more

Delicious egg sandwich, for under $3 - Woohoo! As good as it gets! The sandy was on fancy rye bread, with bacon, egg and cheese - mouthwatering. I want one now, but Teddy's closes early in the day. We also ordered a nice pancake for my daughter, who munched up half and threw the other half on the floor - a baby's ultimate compliment, of course. Great local place with good prices, solid food, and really friendly staff. I like popping in for a weekend bite to eat. On Saturdays they serve breakfast and lunch, and on Sundays it's breakfast only. The menu includes all the breakfast items you'd expect (good omelets and great pancakes!) as well as things like burgers and sandwiches for lunch. They also do some Greek dishes, including a delicious avgolemono (chicken and rice soup with lemon). I'm a huge fan of the cheeseburger club sandwich. It's a small restaurant and can sometimes have a short line during peak hours on weekends, but usually you can walk in and grab a table or booth. The best part about Teddy's is the staff. Teddy himself is usually in the kitchen and will come out to say hi. And the waitresses are really friendly and happy to chat. You can tell this is a great place because there are tons of regulars who keep coming back every week. read more

We went to Teddy's Kiychen on Columbus Day and they were serving only breakfast. That's just what we wanted. I ordered french toast, bacon and coffee and my friend had scrambled eggs, sausage, toast and home fies. Both meals were excellently prepared and very tasty! Okay people, I have been craving a chicken salad club on wheat bread with fries since December and I just got finished eating one from Teddy's Kitchen. . . .UN-FREAKIN-BELIEVEABLE!!! The chicken salad was not dry (just the right amount of mayo), the bacon was cooked the way it should be cooked (not chewy), the lettuce and tomato's were so delicious and the bread was so fresh it just made the whole sandwich. The french fries were crispy and crunchy and not soggy at all. I ATE THE WHOLE THING!!!!! I didn't have to add salt or pepper to anything, just enjoyed finally a chicken salad club from a place that knows how to make it the way you will enjoy it - Teddy's Kitchen, Cushing Square, Belmont, MA. I've been coming here with my parents for years. I'm now the next generation and still enjoying the marvelous food that Teddy prepares. I had tons of crispy bacon, not a few uncooked pieces. I had a huge tuna salad sandwich with tons of lettece and tomato, not Skimpy. I had many huge blt's, not small. I dig this place mostly because I can walk to it from my house, and it's pretty standard fare. I've never had lunch there, only breakfast, and like I said, it's middle of the road breakfast food. If you just want some eggs for breakfast or french toast, it's good. My favorite at this place is the bacon, egg and cheese on toasted white bread, over-easy.
