They cut my cuticles (even when i asked not to) and she literally cut my finger. Nails were not shaped well and overall bad customer service. They dont care about giving you a good mani/pedi they just want to get you in and out. read more

Their facilities is really nice in a not so great strip mall. The prices are super low and the workers have always done a great job. The only issues I have is that they don't take American Express and that some of the workers seem upset if you put their tip on your credit card instead of giving them cash. One told me that their was an ATM in the strip. read more

I visited for a pedicure, and fill in with gel polish. The service was great, although the technician failed to use a base gel polish on my nails. I reminder her to use the base gel polish and she told me because I had acrylic; I didnt need it. I get to the register, and Im told $79 for a fill in and pedicure. So, upon reading the price list which is not on display. I could tell that my pedicure was $30, $3 cut down, and $15 for a fill in, BUT no where on the price list did it show the cost for gel polish. I asked and was told $25. I asked them to show me where it cost $25 to polish your nails with jail polish, and they couldnt. So they arbitraily throw out prices. 4 days after being service, my nails look HORRIBLE! They are chipping, and peeling. And, according to my regular nail stylist she should have used a base gel polish. I will NEVER GO AGAIN!!! read more

I have come to True Nail Spa about four different times, and been happy with every experience. The staff is friendly and there are plenty of nail technicians and chairs/tables. I did go once on a Saturday and had to wait a bit, but if you go, you will see - it is PRETTY big, so if you are facing a wait, I doubt it would be egregiously long. There is a pleasant atmosphere in the salon and plenty of polish choices. I will say that the cleanliness of this place is just okay - not tip-top. For example, you will see acrylic nail dust coating the tools on the manicure stations or clutter here and there or a full trash can or a surface that is not totally wiped down. It is not immaculate like a more high-end salon would be (or maybe a smaller nail salon). I myself kind of accept this as part of the experience of going to a busy nail salon, though. I have gone to many a place where I felt skeeved out, but True Nail Salon is nothing like that! I feel comfortable there, even if it is not as squeaky clean as I would like it to be. Ok sorry the part about the cleanliness got kind of long. Just for a little more context of why I like this place: tonight I went there for a gel mani and a pedicure. I got there at 7:30, and even though they close at 8pm, they took me in (although I had called to give them a heads up that I was coming). And even though my mani ran until about 8:30, I didn't feel like I was an inconvenience to Vanessa, my nail tech, or any of the other staff. (There were a few other people in there with me getting finished up, as well). Overall, if you live in the area, and you are wondering if this is a good place to go, I would say do not hesitate. I have been quite satisfied with the manis and pedis that I've gotten there. In my estimation, it is not the cheapest place in the world - my gel mani and regular pedi came to $57, and then tip on top - but I think (not sure if I am remembering this right) I have gotten a regular mani there for like $12 or $15. They will let you leave tip on the credit card, which is awesome, too. Ask them to do it before they run your card. I think that is about all! Try it out and I hope you have a good experience, too! read more

I wasted $10 yesterday for a bad eyebrow wax. PLEASE be careful when it comes to which lady you go to for your eyebrows. This was my 2nd time here. The 1st time they were done, they were done well. I was so dissatisfied the 2nd time, so I sat in my car looking at how pathetic my eyebrows were after she did them & came back in the shop 5 minutes later. They all hovered around me trying to justify the condition of my eyebrows after they were "done", even after I showed them a pic of how well my eyebrows looked when I went there the 1st time 3 weeks ago to what they were now. One of them even attempted to fill my brows with a pencil. I should've had a talk with the manager & made a huge scene about it, but that's not my character, but now I'm regretting it because they really need to take accountability for such a terrible job. read more

True Nail Spa - I paid $10 for this nonsense at this location & the ladies there all tried to justify the condition of my eyebrows after they were "done". - Day Spas Near Me - Silver Spring, Maryland

My visit on July 17, 2016 was very unpleasant and will be the last. I have patronized this shop for five years, on and off, and it has deteriorated over time. The salon is now managed and staffed by rude, dismissive, insensitive people. There is a distinct, negative difference in their treatment of non-white patrons. I was hurt and embarrassed by this experience. read more

I love this salon. Everyone is always so nice an welcoming. I have been coming for about a year. I started out with Chris an moved to Tina when Chris was busy on a day I came for a fill. Tina is a great manicurist. She is very friendly an she does my nails exactly how I like. Last night I went into the salon an requested Tina, who was on vacation. I stressed I needed to have my nails done an needed the best because I am very picky. I was blessed with another great manicurist, Holly. She has a great personality and very spuncky. She informed me it would be best to for my nails if we soaked off the old acrylic an start with new. She was concerned with the health of my nail an she assured me it was for the best. I was concerned cause I didn't want to cut my nails that had grown. But she did not have to cut them an put acrylic over my nails. The whole process to 2 hrs, but it really didn't feel long. Holly keep me entertained. Thank you Holly an Tina for always making my visit at the salon enjoyable. I have told several people about this salon already. read more

My son likes to get his hair cut by one of the barbers at True Nail Spa -- I know it doesn't say "barber', but he has gotten many fine cuts there at reasonable prices. I don't bother having my nails done, but I can say that the shop is clean and orderly from what I've been able to see and they have plenty of customers - even on Sundays! read more

I went there last Friday for Brazilian, full arms and legs waxing. Women named Tracy did it for me. Although the place is not neat and clean. But Tracy did her job well done. She was friendly and take her time to make me fully satisfied with the services. There prices are reasonable too. I wish the owner should spend some time to check out the cleaning standards of her spa. read more

This place is DISGUSTING. I've been here before, but it had been a long time. I wanted to stop in for a quick pedicure. When I came into the salon, I was quickly led over to a pedicure chair. They started filling it with water and prompted me to sit down and step into it. I looked down at the water and there were HAIRS and SKIN FLAKES floating in it. I asked the esthetician if the pedicure chair tub had been washed and she said yes. I pointed to the visible dirt rising to the surface of the water and she said "oh..." I turned and walked out. I've never been back since. It's disappointing that a business would be so hard pressed to make a quick buck that they would jeopardize the health and safety of their clients. I'm sure this is not the first time they've tried to service somebody in a dirty pedicure tub. The only thing that saved me was probably the lack of bubbles in the tub, otherwise I would have been unsuspecting of the filth that was laying in plain sight. read more

I have been going to The True Nail Spa ever since it first opened in 2005 or 2006. The fact that I've been going this long should tell you something. This place is clean and spacious and the people are nice for the most part. I usually ask for Lucy. She is the best. She is very friendly and always does a great job. There has never been a time when I came to her and felt uncomfortable in any way. I did have one experience where I felt slightly uncomfortable. Lucy was not available, so I allowed this random girl to give me a pedi. She and this man who worked there kept talking in their native language and looking at my feet. That made me uncomfortable. Therefore, I always ask for Lucy. Amy is another good one. If you go, ask for either Lucy or Amy! I usually call to make an appt, but they accept walk-ins as well. read more

I want my nail salon to be clean, service-friendly, and reasonably priced. I stick with a salon if it meets these standards. True Nails had my business for about three years. Until yesterday. The staff was abrupt and rude. The place looked old and dirty. We had the fastest, roughest pedicures ever. And it was no deal. This morning my daughter said, "My toes hurt." Mine do too, and I'm a little worried. True Nails, you're off the list. read more

This place is a joke! I have been going to true nails spa for at least 7 years and the only person who does my nails is Ana. Well she was on vacation when I visited there about 2 weeks ago and I must say this is my last time going there ever again! For starters I really needed my nails done and this other guy not my usual nail tech greeted me and asked me how long do you want your nails I showed him the length and he cut them down so short and I told me that I need more length and he had the nerve to have an attitude really! Ok strike no 2 I told him that I wanted square round and again he did the opposite of doing everything round I was really pissed off by then and someone else came over and finished the job. Needless to say after this other male nail tech started ranting about my eyebrows he kept forcing me to get my brows done didn't have the time in a rush to meet my husband he kept on pushing the issue of my dam eyebrows REALLY I BY THEN LOST IT AS YOU CAN READ ON THE CAPTIONS! Beware of these people they don't have the profession to run this place and it's getting more and more empty. I guess people are getting tired of being talked down to and they speak to each other in their native language to each other when I am trying to get my dam nails done! Needless to say this experience has make me realized that I rather go somewhere else that is more professional and doesn't mind the service that I am paying for. read more

This is a great place...even for a guy. My wife has been going to this place since 2002 and she had me go with her to get a pedicure in 2004, which I was reluctant to do, but it helped to see another guy in the place. The place is very large with more than 20 manicure and pedicure stations. They have a section for hair styling and a section for massages as well. In the back they do waxing, which I've never done, but my wife goes back there and she is done in less than 5 minutes. The place is very clean and they seem to ensure that the utensils are kept sterile. What I really like about it is the price and the speed of service. You can walk in at mostly anytime and have no wait. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is that they do not take American Express and you have to tell them up front to put the tip on your credit card. I'm use to adding my tip once I sign my credit card receipt, but once they ring you up, they can't add the tip. read more

I am genuinely baffled by how many customers were in this spa. This is my first time there and I will never go back. I was looking to get a nice relaxing manicure after work and my experience began by being greeted very rudely by the front desk. I told them I wanted a gel manicure so they took me to a table and began to remove the gel I already had on my nails. Looking around I realized how unsanitary this salon was. There were left over filings from the previous customers all over the counter that was going to be used for me. I asked how much a gel manicure cost and was told $35. For any gel manicure that price is heinously high, but for the place I was at I was immediately turned off. I asked how much a regular manicure was and was told $12, still extremely over priced, and in hindsight, so over priced for the terrible manicure I received it is actually humorous. I was given a hard time when I told the I changed my mind and only wanted a regular manicure. I had to switch tables and technicians to a male instead of a female who initially helped me. The second table was dirtier than the first. After removing the gel from my nails he simply swept the shavings onto the floor. The file he used was so dull it actually cracked my nails. He didn't remove all of the gel and gave me a hard time when I asked him to. The manicure itself is by far the worst one I've ever received. And when I was paying I was told it was $17, because they never disclosed that removing gel nail polish (which 1. I could peel off myself and 2. He didn't even remove all of it)cost $5. If you choose to go here, please, brace yourself. read more

The first time I went here last year, the experience was good. Everybody was accommodating and the atmosphere was really cool. A year goes by and I decide to get some tips and a manicure. When I walked in, I was seated immediately. BUT as soon as I sat down, this guy just started sanding way my nails and cutting my cuticles. No soaking my finger tips or brushing the nails. His eyes lingered on the door every time a new customer walked in (which made no sense because he was supposed to be concentrating on the customer at hand). This dude was not focused and not good at his job. He wasn't social at all and looked more at the door than my hands; he even got frustrated when I asked questions or requested something. When he put on the tips, they were different lengths and he didn't even bother to see if the tips were identically shaped (some round, some slightly pointed). One of my tips wasn't even pushed down completely, so there was a gap between my nail and the fake nail for water and other germs to collect. I left these on for 3 days, took them off myself and decided never to do this again unless my hands are in the care of *professional nail technicians* who like their job..not somebody's cousin who just needs money. read more

I came in on 05/5/17 to get some nails powder removed for the first time to go back to natural nails. The first two techs who got me started were very nice! I sat there for what felt like forever with my nails in a bowl of pure acetone nail polish remover, at least it worked! However, once it was removed, no one could do my nails, and yet they kept taking new people! Hello! I was already seated and a customer! so this lady from up front, plop down and didn't say hi and started drilling my nails then asked me " what do you want", I said manicure, she said go wash hands", so I did. The next thing I know she say " 5 minutes with her hands in my face ". I didn't have 5 minutes... so I got up and paid 10.00 and no tips! They lost my business and I went there now and then for as long as I have lived in this area, no more !! read more

Really like it here. Been coming for years! Love the mani pedis! Yes, agreed that it's not they nicest place, but it's still fine. And yes, it's one of those places where they obviously talk ish while you're sitting right there lol read more

This place is gorgeous but service is so damn horrible i would not recommend to anyone if you want your nails done. Not only are they rude when asking prices, they also overcharge and when you ask for something most salons have for free, they neglect to tell you that it's an extra charge. they charged me an extra $5 for OPI nail polish... seriously?! i can but my own nail polish for that price and bring it in. They also like to cheat people out of money. in their pamphlet and on the phone, they said their gel manicure is $24, when i was checking out it magically went up to $25? im not mad about a dollar i just find it sad how pressed for money they are. The woman who did my nails rushes and rushes and messes up so many times. She painted sooo bad and the gel is all up on my cuticles which obviously shouldnt be!!! the gel is connected from nail to cuticle which means when it grows out and leaves the cuticle a little, it will end up peeling from all sides. How are you working at a place like that and don't know how to paint a simple nail?! DONT GO TO KELLEY! she sucks. like seriously. No tip for her and never returning again to her. She ignored me at all costs while i was there and basically waited until i left and kept staring me down for a tip and looking at my wallet. Like no, you're horrible. pure not getting a tip. She also made my nail cuticles bleed, she BUTCHERED them! How does she have her license? seriously? she SUCKS!!! end of story and never returning! read more

If I could give them less I would. I've been coming here for years with my sisters and today I had the pleasure of having Emily do my nails. She was completely unprofessional when I wanted her to fix stuff that she carelessly overlooked she gave me attitude. Not to mention that I told her not to shorten my nails (took me a month to grow out) only for her to go ahead and filed them all the way down to the nub. Never have I had such a horrible experience in anything but of course this place takes the cake for rush jobs. The boy upfront with the outdated hair is no help whatsoever. Also who leaves a staff of over 15 people with no one in charge! The owner apparently does! I can't wait to talk to him when he gets back from his vacation. read more

I am a regular customer at this salon. I find it to be clean and the techs are always cordial. Usually there is not a brief wait time unless you do not have an appointment on let's say the day before a holiday or Mother's Day. They have a wide selection of nail polish colors. Since I frequent this establishment that is important to me. I would recommend this True Nail Spa to a Friend. read more

i recently had eyelashes done here. My eyes broke out in an awful rash and had to go to ER. The ER physician said they are getting many complaints and that the environment has to be clean where the service is being performed. Not sure if I will go back as I really like Sue and she's amazing. I was offered a refund for the lashes but several hours at the ER and a day missed from work. 60.00 is not going to cover this loss!!! read more

Stopped in on 6/28/16 to inquire about possibly getting lashes for an upcoming trip. The guy at the front desk called a tech named Sarah who took her time coming to the front. When she got to the front I began asking questions about the lash services such as- do they have a lot of customers that get lashes, what kind do they do, etc. There was a language barrier and she seemed annoyed that I was asking questions (not sure why since I'm a first time customer about to BRING MONEY). Anyway, she pauses and then blurts out, "Don't talk with me like that" as if I offended her.. She then went on to ask if I was spending $200+ which I took to mean was for Nouveau lashes. I told her no, I'm asking about the $35 lash service.. I interpreted her attitude/statement to mean "Don't talk to me like that" and if I wasn't getting the $200+ lashes then don't ask a bunch of questions...Well guess what? I drove all the way to Laurel where I normally get lashes done because clearly these people still haven't learned customer service skills and they forget these little nail shops are on every corner..I don't care how much they throw "spa" in the name they are nothing more than fancy nail sweatshops. read more

If I was given the option to give this so called nail place a 0 I would have. This was the most unprofessional, rudest, unqualified nail place I have ever been too. I went to this place about 3 times to give them the benefit of the doubt and maybe it was that one particular nail technician who didn't know what he or she was doing, well I was sadly mistaken. I went to go get a manicure and the guys that did it was rushing me as soon as I walked in, than he didn't even bother to take the polish off completely than I was waiting for him to do it he didn't, after that he was about polish my nails with a first coat so I asked him to so that please, while he was painting my nails I saw it was lumpy and very messy on my skin all over the place. So I waited to see if he was gonna clean it and NO he didn't even bother so by than I am very disappointed and irritated at this point so I walk to the front where he was standing and asked him he could do a better job because the nail polish I had on previously is very visible, and the polish job as a whole was really messy so he looked at it and wasn't phased at all actually looked at me like I was crazy, and the young lady at the front told me I should clean the corner and edges that are messy myself. I was standing there in shock and said this is how you treat your customers and the guy who did it looked me and said, if you can do a better job do it yourself I don't care if you don't pay me. At this point my mouth dropped to the floor with the way they were handling the situation, than I asked for nail polish remover to remove the polish myself so I could leave. If you want to your nails or toes to look like a 7 year old did than go to this place, or to be treated with so much disrespect. Most of the people working there don't even have the right paperwork or training to be doing any of the job they do! read more
