This is hands down the best nail place I've ever been to. My favorite tech, Jason, used to do my nails in DC till he moved here and I now travel to Bethesda for him to do my nails. Flawless every time. I come for dip nails and my friend comes for gel. She has issues at other salons with getting the polish thin enough, but Vivian always nails (ha) it. horrible with my daughter who is 23 and has high functioning autism. she typically goes to another (lovely) salon nearby where they treat her with respect. I left her there settled into Her chair. She had picked out her color and was chilling with her phone. I got a call from them when they were ready to do her toes to say i needed to come back prior to their performing the service To give my okay. As if it was surgery. they asked if i was coming back (no i was planning to leave her there and skip the check) When i returned she was still gettinher toes done and i asked to talk to the male owner re why he was reluctant to do her toes. He said she went to the bathroom, and wasnt acting normal.... why not just say we dont serve "r-tards". Obviously i was furious. He could have saved face respect and a lost client by waiving the fee. never again read more

I saw their sign while driving around and looked a review from a few days ago from a client who knew the NEW owners from their work in DC. I came in as a walkin and promptly assisted. I got a manicure here and it was not sanitary, the manicurist cut my finger and the unsanitary tools caused a staph infection that turned my finger green and that required multiple treatments from a surgeon and took months to recover. My attempts to resolve with the salon have gone ignored and 5 months later my finger is still not fully back to normal. Absolutely not worth it, there are plenty of clean nail salons nearby. This business is small and not the flashiest nail salon I've been to, but the work is quality, the technicians are friendly, and it's pretty affordable. I normally don't get pedicures but I went with some friends for an afternoon of relaxation. My technician was very attentive, polite, and the gel pedicure she applied had no bubbles in it. If you're very fastidious you might not enjoy the set up much but i think it's a good place for reasonably priced nails. read more

However, the new management is overcharging for services that are usually included in manicures and pedicures (they charge between $5 and $10 extra for buffing nails and for cleaning calluses with a foot file). All of the staff, except for the receptionist, had masks on all the time. The receptionist should also keep his mask on in the future. read more

I came in here last week for my annual pre-summer pedicure. God pedis are damned good. I should do it more often than once a year. $25 for a pedi. I would pay $35 if I could watch ESPN and read some guys magazines instead of those focusing on Drew Barrymore who has been stalking me lately. Isn't there a guy's pedi place somewhere in this city? They just opened up a massage place upstairs and the wee woman came down and gave me a 10 minute neck rub for $10. It was very good. Generally I am not too keen on people footering with me but I enjoyed this immensely. The other great thing about this spot is that they have their own little parking lot on the aside street, so park there, come for a service and then mooch on throughout Bethesda for an hour ot two. Worst manicure of my life. The gel UV light was broken and so the gel polish didn't set. Polish all over fingers and skin. Dirty tools. Everything that could have gone wrong did. I think my technician may have needed glasses because I kept pointing out issues (polish on the back of my hand, all over my skin around the nail) that she didn't seem to be able to see. I shouldn't have paid for the truly sub par experience, but alas, I did. read more

My boss recommended this place for an interview nail prep, she goes for Diep, but she wasn't working that day so I had the pleasure of the technician Lina who exceeded all of my expectations. I don't understand the bad reviews but they are so outdated and management has changed so the old reviews shouldn't be trusted! I got French on my nails and pedicure that Lina took her time, even though the place was about to close, she didn't rush me or her work and was so friendly but not overly so, it was perfect. Clean, clean, clean. Great customer service and the best part, prices are super competitive and affordable, the quality is unmatched at this price. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Dirty salon. It would be a great location if they cleaned it up --thickly smudged armrests in chairs like they've never been cleaned. Nail dryer full of dust and lint. Pedicure was messy, with no glassy finish. Sad, because I was hoping to make this my neighborhood go-to. read more

Awful place to get nails done. Went here with my 3 friends and got a gel manicure. DISASTER!!!! First the color I chose was not nice to look at, and bumpy. So the lady told me the color looked bad on my complexion? No their polishes were just old. The person doing my nails took the color off (after applying 3 coats) and used an nail file for acrylic nails to take the polish off. This hurt my cuticles and got dust everywhere. My nails looked terrible. Then she redid the entire thing. My nails were an absolute mess. The whole experience took really long and the staff were not kind or gentle. I would not recommend going here as the result is awful and the price is fairly high compared to the 3 other salons less then a block away. read more

If I could I would give zero stars. I don't normally write yelp reviews at all but I couldn't let this go. Went in for a gel manicure, and the technician couldn't get it off. She left the acetone on my nails for 45 min while she did crossword puzzles. My nails were destroyed. They got so soft they were torn up when she styled them. It is 3 weeks later and I have had to get my nails redone 4 times because they keep ripping as they are still damaged. I was there for 2 hours for a manicure...save your nails DO NOT go to this place!! read more

This place is horrible!! I went in for my birthday wanting a manicure with dark red polish. First the lady rushed as fast as she could, then when she started to paint my nails it was everywhere. Looked like crap, she kept going over the edges then painting more adding more all over my skin not nail. And when another customer came in she rushed again trying to get me out of her chair so that she can take the next customer. I kept looking at my nails, and all she kept saying was my nails are too small to paint good. WTH!!! I was so upset, a time for my self for my bday and I got that. Came for a walk in pedicure. Picked my color and was told to wait a few mins. A lady came in 15 mins after me and after picking out her color, she was seated at the pedicure chair. I was so pissed I was about to leave right then. 2 minutes later I'm sat to soak my feet in COLD water. I sat in the chair 30 mins waiting to be taken care of. Once again, the other girl got taken care of after 15 mins. I was so fed up that I dried off my cold wet feet and just walked out. Will never return! read more

Went in for a pedicure and it was not worth it. The person doing my nails was distracted the entire time half paying attention to what she was doing. This is my second review today. I always read Yelp for guidance, but have never written a review. After these certain incidents, I feel it is my duty to do so. This nail salon is in my new neighborhood. With hopes of finding a new nail salon, I went here for a manicure exactly two months ago (1/09). Upon walking in, I was surprised that the Health Department hadn't shut down this place. I sat down to have my nails done, and was surrounded my random nail clippings!!! GROSS!!!!!! As disgusted as I was, I stayed... I know, why?? I thought, maybe just maybe, a customer had just left and there hadn't been time to clean. I was trying to give the benefit of the doubt. The nail technician spoke on her phone and flaunted her red lipstick stained Styrofoam cup as she continued to talk on her phone, take sips from the cup and do my nails all at the same time. read more

No frills decor, but Quality workmanship. All of the staff here are great, very attentive and they know what they're doing. Tina even helped me fix a thumbnail over six weeks (in three visits) that was split from the tip for months--it's all grown out now with no more problems. read more
