I have been a customer since 2017 and the studio just gets better and better. The team has not only weathered the storm of the pandemic, but also meets every challenge head on with a smile. The waxing experience is swift. The studio and salon rooms are clean. The team is thoughtful and pleasant. And the leadership/management are ALWAYS thinking of ways to improve your personal experience. Monica and her team have been a staple in my grooming routines. Give them a try! I promise you will understand my steadfast loyalty to this minority and woman-owned business! read more

My opinion of the business shifted when I dealt with the owner Monica. She plasterers on a fake smile, but there is a vibe with her that's very off putting. She provided my service, but it seemed more like a chore. She kept saying things that made it seem like she was trying to get out of doing my wax. Weird. I also had my brows done by Jeanette. They came out okay, but the energy with her was off as well. She got some wax in my hair and asked IF SHE COULD CUT IT OFF!!!!! I informed her that oil removes the wax, she grudgingly obliged and indignantly said "it worked" once my hair was free from her error. I also miss Giselle at reception! She was so fab and made you feel like you were in Beverly Hills at an exclusive boutique. I haven't felt the same treatment from any other receptionist. ::sigh:: Sometimes good things go bad...and sometimes bad things seem good for a little while. Won't be back! read more

Jeanette is awesome and super gentle, highly recommend! I was new to the area and found Jeanette/ Cera Wax Studio through Yelp, I've been seeing Jeanette for an eyebrow waxing ever since. April (front desk) is always welcoming and attentive. read more

Monica has truly built a great studio @ Cera Wax in Bethesda- I've had really bad waxing experiences in the past but Monica and her staff are truly the best. I feel so much more relaxed when I get waxed by her and the results are great and the pain is minimal. Monica is swift, talented and really ensures that the process as fast and painless as possible. read more

If I could give 6 stars, I would! My prior review holds - Cera is the best place I've ever gone for eyebrow waxing. Deja does such a great brow wax! I have sensitive skin and everyone I've ever seen at Cera does a great job not damaging my skin and the products are soothing (not irritating at all). I don't even look like I had wax done an hour later (other places I've been, my skin would be swollen for hours later). The place is always clean, bright, and usually on time. (The only time I've ever had to wait 10 mins past my appt time was due to a fussy customer, not the staff.) I can't endorse Cera enough! read more

I just visited Cera for the first time, and I will be back soon! A beautiful studio that is easy to access and well-maintained. The staff members are very kind, professional, and welcoming, and the Studio follows strict COVID protocols. I had a wonderful experience with Deja, who I would highly recommend. She made me feel comfortable, and she did a fabulous job with my Brazilian wax. A major thank you! read more

Monica is amazing! Not only does she do a great job with my wax service every time, it's always comfortable, like talking to a friend.

Charged me to reschedule my appointment, even though I have an illness that is preventing me from being able to attend my appointment.

First wax appointment since feb 2020! I got my bikini area and eyebrows done. Cera wax is conveniently located on Cordell. The ride up the elevator is unusually long (1min), but I was quickly greeted by the front desk associate, and promptly seen by Deja. I was nervous coming back after so long, but the bikini area was minimally painful thanks to Deja's careful work. She was meticulous with my bikini and brow area. I almost cried my eyebrows looked so good! Will def be back. Thanks! read more

I have been a Cera client for almost 10 years and I've always had a pleasant experience. Staff and waxers are professional, kind and courteous. read more

I think its official.. Cera, I now pronounce you my go-to waxing place. This place is fantastic..its super cute inside, and is always clean. They play a good mix of music, and the front desk staff are always pleasant. BTW, the 45-47 second elevator ride up to the salon is real. My waxer Melissa is awesome!! She takes pride in her service and pays attention to detail. TMI ALERT: I have not had an ingrown hair since I started going to her. So she definitely knows what she's doing. She is also very friendly and very personable. Booking is easy, but they do fill up fast. So try not rely too heavily on booking last minute appointments. They also give courtesy calls to remind you of your upcoming appts. Parking can be a little dicey during the day and weekends, so plan accordingly. But you have a choice between street parking (coins, credit cards, and mobile phone app), or the parking garage. Overall, highly recommend..but make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get there on time. read more

The customer service and experience at Cera Wax Studio was top-notch for sure! I decided to call for an eyebrow wax appointment and the friendly receptionist made sure we found a good time and date for me. You do have to give a credit card number over the phone to hold your appointment, but I read that on their website so I was prepared. I got an email the day before my appointment along with instructions that the elevator is slow, but it does work! The space was clean and inviting. I was offered sparkling water while I filled out the basic forms you normally fill out. I don't think I waited longer than 5 minutes before I was taken to a private room. My waxer asked what kind of brows I wanted and explained all the products she was going to use. She trimmed the long hairs first, then waxed, then went in to tweeze. I was definitely satisfied with the final result, but I feel for the $25 (+ tip) price I was expecting to be floored. This was definitely a splurge for me and the experience was very pleasant. I'm not sure if I'll be back just due to my budget, but I do recommend Cera Wax Studio! read more

Cera Wax Studio - Elevator warning sign! - Waxing Near Me - Bethesda, Maryland

I've been coming to cerawax studio for over 2 years now and it's honestly the best waxing salon I've been to. There's always parking available, the customer service is phenomenal, and appointments always begin at the scheduled time. I personally always go to Janette for my waxes and she's the best!!! She's quick, efficient, and sooo nice. I don't see myself going to any other salon. read more

I have been going here for a year and have never been disappointed. Kim and Monica have done my eyebrows and in fact I'd see anyone in the salon. They are all professionals and have really high standards. They ask questions about allergies and how you want your eyebrows to be shaped, etc. I have never had any other waxing services done here, but am sure they do equally as great a job. Beverages are always offered and they have chocolates and nuts at the reception area. This place is the gold standard for waxing salons. read more

Take the elevator up! Great place, everyone was super friendly. She did my eyebrows really fast and was so nice the whole time. They do a great job! It was 25 for eyebrows, which is why I only gave them 4 stars, not 5. I feel like that's a bit pricey. Best eyebrow job I've ever gotten, though. Definitely recommend this place! read more

Cera Wax Studio - Eyebrows still a bit pink, bit great job! - Waxing Near Me - Bethesda, Maryland

Cera sent an email and I was so glad they did because I forgot where I had gone when I had such a great experience. Well my return visit years later was just as great. Jordan is new but she's fantastic. And it didn't hurt a bit! read more

I came for an eyebrow wax and had a photo of what I liked. The employee explained why my eyebrows would never look like those (sigh, but definitely not her fault)! She did the best she could with what I have. Friendly front desk staff, easy to make appointment, would prefer somewhere I don't have to pay for parking, though. Not sure waxing is worth paying double ($30 vs $15) what I usually pay for threading, but overall I was happy with them (and bonus that they offered me a soda on the way out)! read more

I was SO nervous to go in for my Brazilian wax and Jordan made me feel so at ease and comfortable. Not only did she do such a nice job, but my wax was effortless. She was quick and talked me through every step. My entire appointment was so pleasant between the friendly front desk staff and clean facilities. I can't wait to come back! read more

I've been here three times and have had a great experience each visit. Quick, efficient service. Great customer service. Excellent results. Highly recommend! read more

I used this place three times. The front desk woman was always nice, and helpful with the products on the shelf. They offer you a drink, which is nice. Coffee is a plus! I had the Brazilian wax done, and the woman's name escapes me, but she was very quiet. Barely spoke. Made no recommendations or hints, other told me I had ingrown hair. The rooms are bare. Doesn't feel cozy. Not at all. Just bare and cold. I was willing to put up with that, but after my third appointment I needed to reschedule my next appointment due to travels to NYC. I reschedule 3 days out, and they would charge my the full price. For 3 days difference?!!! You lost a customer. read more

I have lived in various cities over the last decade, and have been a client at so many studios, but never stuck until I found Cera Wax. I've worked with Monica both professionally, and now personally as a client, and this place literally feels like home. I still drive from North East DC out to Bethesda all for a quick wax appointment. I love the products they have in stock, and I can't imagine ever going anywhere else! read more

Repeat customer here, I've been to Cera multiple times over the years for legs, bikini, and now for eyebrows. Consistent service, super informative before, during, and after your appointment. Jeannette tinted and waxed my brows, and she talked me through the entire process, letting me know every step of what she was doing, which I appreciate! It was a little difficult to get them on the phone, and I did play a bit of phone tag before I got my appointment scheduled, but I'll chock that up to COVID. I'm still a happy customer! read more

I started going to Cera Wax Studio this summer and have been extremely impressed with the services. Jeanette is awesome! I am very particular about my waxing services, (especially in intimate places on my body). I have been to other waxing places and have had to ask them to redo areas where they missed hairs but have never experienced this at this waxing studio. Jeanette is very meticulous to details, have a very even kill temperament, and a pleasant demeanor. Also, there is never a long wait when you book your appointment in advance and the studio is very clean. I would highly recommend Cera Wax Studio (especially Jeanette) to anyone who is looking for consistent and professional waxing services. You will not be disappointed! read more

I've been waxing for almost 50 years (yes, I am 70) and just moved here from SF. I was delighted with the service I received from Jeanette yesterday. After waxing all of these years, I do feel comfortable saying I know when a technician understands what they are doing. Jeanette was excellent, quick, kind, and sensitive. I will definitely be returning. read more

Incredibly clean, nice and great atmosphere! Maya is very professional and does an excellent job. My eyebrows look incredible. Easy parking on the street middle of the day on a Friday. Okay, let me start by saying, it is NOT painless. It is the least pain, I've experienced (this was my 3rd Brazilian wax in life), but don't go expecting there not to be a degree of pain involved. Jasmine was my waxer and she was great. She made sure to let me know exactly what she was applying to my skin. We chatted the entire time and it made it go by very quickly. It felt like talking to an old friend. I was so focused on the conversation that it helped distract me from the minimal pain of the service. If it's your first time, you will have to fill out a form so I suggest getting there at least 5 minutes early. The elevator ride is long too so factor that in as well. I was seen promptly which I really appreciate. I hate having to wait for a scheduled appointment. The whole experience was professional but also friendly. I will definitely be coming to Cera for all of my future waxes. I tried two other places before here, but it looks like the third time was a charm. If you're thinking about giving Cera a try, don't think any more, just do it! Ask for Jasmine when you make your appointment, as she took really good care of me and I would recommend her to any close friend or family member. read more

Between 3 studio options, I decided to go with Cera because they had Sunday hours and availability. When I called to make an appointment, I had SO many questions as a first timer. They were more than helpful and accommodating. Fortunately, because my appointment was on a Sunday - I didn't have too much trouble with parking. Parking is free on weekends in the county parking lots and garages. So it was easy breezy! I was about 10 minutes early to complete first timer paperwork. It took about one minute literally. And a few minutes later, I was called back for my waxing. My Esthetician Melissa was super wonderful. I was SO nervous and uncomfortable. But she did a great job working with me and making me the experience not as bad as I predicted. Yes, it was super painful during the process, but the afterwards pain wasn't half as bad as I expected. Prices are reasonable. Studio is super clean. And no double dipping! I definitely intend to come back. read more

I've been going to Monica (co-owner) for many years. I am so excited that she has opened up this great new salon in Bethesda. Pros - Very clean. I love how she doesn't double dip the applicator sticks into the wax. Wax is great. I've had issues in the past with my skin lifting with wax but whatever wax she uses is not too hot and comes off easily. Monica is very personable. I never feel embarrassed or uncomfortable. I really feel like she enjoys what she is doing. The place itself is cute. They put a lot of time into the decor and creating an overall experience. This place mainly just does waxing. I like that it specializes in one thing. Cons- The elevator to get to the salon takes forever. Seriously - keep waiting, it will eventually come. Prices are a little more expensive than your average nail place down the street that does waxing - but totally worth it as you feel more comfortable and the place is spotless and the staff is super friendly. read more

I had my first wax with Monica this morning. It was hands down the best wax experience of my life. She's definitely made a returning client out of me. Her technique is perfect, the pre-and-post-treatment products she uses are noticeably high quality, the waxing chair/bed is super comfy, and there's absolutely no awkwardness. It was as close to painless as waxing gets. Cera Wax was the first waxing studio that asked me about medications, skin conditions, and other health contraindications on their health form, so I know that they're meticulously looking out for their clients. They also gave me sparkling water and chocolate to take with me. So great! read more

So chill of an ambiance and staff..I was a little skeptical...I love my eyebrow hair and was afraid of losing too much of it.. but I was genuinely and happily surprised to see how Maya took her time to wax and pluck away only what I wanted gone off my brows. Lily was very nice and a patient first impression for this new experience for me. Definitely a great place to come not just get waxed but enjoy the pain-free process read more

I love this place so much, I'm a regular! First, you should know that I am super picky about my brazilian waxes. I am a girl who would rather throw down $100 for a good waxing experience. This place is the $100 experience, for a $65 price tag. The women who run this place are very professional, young, friendly, and experienced. They use high quality wax that doesn't give me in-growns or rip off my skin. They chat with you through it so to keep your mind off the pain, and they offer you a beverage and candy. Very nice! They even gave me a pro-tip, to apply "No Scream Cream" 1 hr before your appointment to numb the area ;) It really helps! Anyway, I travel 45 minutes from downtown DC out to Bethesda every month to get a wax at Cera! They are Fantastic! read more

I have been getting Brazilians here with Kimberly since 2013, and she always does a perfect job. She even tweezes after my wax to get any stragglers that she missed. The best part is that she works very quickly--she takes about 15 minutes to do a full Brazilian and doesn't leave a single hair behind! The facility is kept impeccably clean, and the waxers never double dip their sticks. This is very important to me. The customer service is excellent. You can make an appointment via email, phone, or in-person. I almost always make appointments via email, and I get a response pretty quickly when I request an appointment--usually they respond within one day. After each appointment I receive a follow-up email to make sure that everything went well and I don't have any complaints. One time my waxer was sick, so the receptionist called me a few hours before the appointment and had to reschedule the appointment. These things happen--it was an inconvenience, but I wasn't angry or upset (everyone gets sick). I didn't even complain or ask for a discount, but they gave me 10% off of my next appointment just for the inconvenience of having to reschedule the appointment. Wow! I am just floored by the customer service at this place! read more

First time at Cera- I called ahead of time and they were able to fit me in for a bikini and lip wax the same day which was great because I'm such a chicken and hate getting anything waxed, so when I get brave, I can't wait. Tatiana was fantastic and put me at ease. I told her how sensitive my skin is and she suggested using the hard wax which adheres just to the hair and not to the skin. She was quick and there was minimal pain and irritation. I will definitely be back. Plus it was great to meet another Texas girl! A couple notes- parking is on the street so depending on how busy it is around Bethesda at the time you may have to hunt for a bit. Also, the entrance is right across the street from Grapeseed Bistro and next to Smoke BBQ. It's a little bit hard to find, but the number is over the door is very big, so just look for the address on the building and you'll be fine. Also, the actual studio is very clean. It's less spa like, but I didn't mind. It's more about efficiency and I appreciate that. They do offer water (still or sparkling) or soft drinks and they play great music which helps take your mind off things as they're ripping hair off your body. read more

Absolutely NO double-dipping, professionals who specialize in waxing only - the real deal. I did thorough research and am 100% satisfied with all staff - from the front desk employees to the pro-waxers. Courteous, knowledgeable about skincare, do's and don'ts, they take your privacy seriously, and they make you feel comfortable which is extremely important to me. Jasmine is a pro and I highly recommend her whether it's your first time getting a wax or new customer at this location. She is always willing to answer any questions, she made me feel at ease asking uncomfortable ones, and has a great sense of humor! I was hesitant to go to other salons that offer services aside from waxing (nails, spas, beauty services) because I just wanted wax-only pros. This is it. Happy I found Cera!! read more

Who knew waxing could be so glam?! Seriously obsessed. REASON FOR COMING: Dreaded Brazilians. BOOKING AN APPT: With several rave reviews, it's not always easy getting an appointment here, so book ahead! Even if it means having to cancel (of course provide notice before the 24 hour mark). They pay attention to your history and try their best to match you with your requested esthetician or the one you had on your last visit. Confirmation email is super detailed with parking and what to expect overall - very helpful. ATMOSPHERE: Tucked away, the entrance is a little nerve-wrecking since the elevator takes a while to get up to the 3rd floor of the building where Cera is located. However, they provide fair warning in the confirmation email and the sign inside the elevator, so don't worry! It's normal. Feminine colors give this place the glam vibe I mentioned earlier. The wax rooms are even glam with crystal chandeliers! Really pretty place and very clean. SERVICE: Since reservations are pretty much required (typically no walk-ins available), there's never much of a wait time when I arrive. Conversation during waxes can be awkward, but many of the estheticians here are hip and super easy to talk to. Waxes are quick and as painless as they can be. As noted above, this is one of the cleanest waxing studios I've been to! PRICING: None of this stuff is cheap anywhere, so I'd say Cera is average. Discounts available for advance reservations and reoccurring packages. PARKING: Plenty street parking available nearby and the Montgomery garage available at hourly rates. OVERALL: Love! read more

Still LOVE Cera, almost two years later! Tried to make an appt with Tatiana a few weeks ago (but she is on maternity leave. Congratulations, Tatiana! So happy for her!) so I made an appt with Camella. It was my second time with Camella and she is fantastic, too! I LOVE talking to her and she makes an awkward service, comfortable. Not only that, I was caught in the flood that's been taking place on Wisconsin (in front of NIH) for the last week (last time I checked) and Camella STILL saw me, even though I was 10 minutes late. She told me that we might have to stop as soon as the next client arrived but she was efficient and I was in and out before her next client so there was not an issue, despite my nervousness that I would not be able to receive my service due to my late arrival. Cera continues to go above and beyond for their customers and I will continue to drive 30+ miles to visit this establishment. Top notch! Go to Cera! Don't worry, the elevator is not broken, it's just slow. Grab a snack and enjoy the ride! :) read more

Jeanette is amazing!! I have gotten waxed for years, and she is definitely one of the best waxers I've ever had. She is extremely thorough and does great work. Definitely highly recommend. Jeanette is an amazing waxer! If you're looking for a bare Brazilian that doesn't leave your cooch burning, Jeanette is your girl!

Cera Wax Studio has to be the hands down best waxing experience I have had, ever!! It was my first wax with co-owner Monica and her immediate presence upon meeting her was friendly, calming, inviting, professional and relaxing. I just recently moved to the area from FL where, waxing goes hand in hand with breathing, so there is never a shortage of studios. Upon my arrival to the MD area, I found that there was no such thing or maybe, literally only a handful (not even) of places solely dedicated to just waxing. I spent a few days online, doing some research and looking for reviews on places that came up on Groupon (nightmare stories) and links other readers mentioned. All other places had websites that were unprofessional, horror stories and not such confident reviews in the ones that didn't end up in a painful outcome. They also were not studios dedicated just to waxing. Thank goodness a reviewer mention Cera Wax and after visiting the site and reading the reviews, I knew this was going to be the place for me. The studio has amazing location that's very easy to find and upon entering when those elevator doors open, it's like wow! The decor is so beautiful, it's cozy, yet chic and makes you feel at home, like you want to hang out there. There's great music playing in the background, it's clean, it smells great and has a beautiful display of some really great quality products. Monica greeted me in such a welcoming way, that mad me feel like I'd been coming there for years. She explained to me every step of the way, what she was doing and why she was doing it, which put me at ease, given that my last wax ended up in a painful, tearful nightmare. It was painless, she was through and we had some good laughs throughout. The chair was comfortable, the colors of the rooms were soothing and most important of all SHE NEVER DOUBLE DIPS and that says a lot about a place. They are willing to go the extra mile and invest a little more in dip sticks, for the health and safety of their clients, rather than trying to save a buck. After my wax, Monica took all the information I had given her about my skin and mad some recommendations of what I could do naturally and use product wise to help ease my skin before and after future waxes. Never was she once pushy on products and the at home care advice she gave was amazing. Although I didn't get a chance to meet the receptionist Veronica, she did call the next day to find out how my wax went, if I was happy with my services and if there was anything else I need, just call or email. Now that's great customer service. Clearly after this extended review (lol), I am over the moon happy with Cera Wax studio and I'm definitely going to be a long term returning client. Never thought I would be saying I'm looking forward to getting my next wax ;) read more
