I'm from out of town and came here as a recommendation from a family member but truly disappointed in my updo. I showed a picture to the hair stylist and it turned out nothing like my photo. It was flat and very blah. I had her redo and total time took an hour and a half. I just asked if she can do something she's good at that's natural looking since I don't have confidence in her anymore. I could of just curled my own hair and pin it myself and it would look better. I did give feedback to the cashier on how disappointed I was and she told me that the hair stylist tried. Clients need hair styling experts not someone who tries? Not acceptable. Got a single process with Nader, they were very accommodating and the whole process was relaxing. I love my hair, he did a great job. My hair is thick and very difficult to work with and I usually end up disappointed every time I go to a new place but i was very happy with Nader's work. I called for a same day appointment and they were able to fit me in within a few hours which is a huge plus, if I decide I'm getting my hair done I want my hair done that same day so making appointments for weeks out was not working for me, which is why I looked for a new place and found salon Nader. read more

Salon Nader has taken EVERY step possible to make the salon "Covid friendly"! They have installed partitions between stylists, reduced the number of stylists permitted to work at one time, take our temperature upon entering, are all masked...the list goes on. BRAVO!! Additionally, their stylists are amazing especially Jasmina and the front desk is run efficiently and professionally by Jola. Got my hair cut here for the first time (and the first time since the covid lockdown). Based on older recent reviews, it seems like they've gotten way more lax on their covid precautions. No one took my temperature or asked about potential symptoms when I came in. I had requested and was confirmed for an outdoor haircut but they decided to do it inside. When they shampooed my hair, they put me sitting right next to another customer (I was uncomfortable about it and based on her body language, she obviously was too, though to be fair, neither of us said anything). There was a small partition between us, but it was so low that there was no barrier between our faces. The salon itself was quite crowded- lots of people inside. The person who cut my hair kinda gave me side bangs, which I did not want. He barely spent any time with me- he kept going back and forth between me and another customer (which makes a lot off the covid precautions pointless) and seemed to really be rushing with me (maybe that's just normal here, but when I get my hair cut at an expensive place, I'm used to people taking their time). Tbh, between him going back and forth between me and another customer, and the fact that I had to wait a while after my appointment start time to actually get started, it seemed like they might've like forgotten I had an appointment. Also, no one seemed to be wiping down chairs or anything in between use. At least everyone was wearing masks, I guess. Overall, not even counting covid stuff, this place is seriously not worth $85 for a haircut (I might as well have gone to the Hair Cuttery for like $15). When counting covid stuff, it could be worse, but they don't seem to be taking it very seriously either. read more

I had high hopes for this salon but was utterly disappointed. I came in with a pic of hair color that was a bit lighter than my own. I ended up with only my roots died and they were a color not even close to what I asked for. I let the stylist and manager know that I was unhappy but their attitude didn't seem to indicate care. I returned the next day and it took the stylist two tries to correct what he did. The person who washed my hair did an excellent job. The owner showed more care for my experience but doesn't seem to create an environment that caters to the customers satisfaction. The general attitude of the employees and management really turned me off. I won't be returning. read more

i entered with a warm smile excited to treat myself to a haircut and color. going to a salon is just as much about how you are made to feel as the haircut itself. the front desk representative barely greeted me and was curt and totally unwelcoming. They told me they were running behind 30 minutes and would have to wait. which would have been fine had she shown some warmth and care. I've had my hair done by Heather Fritz at Salon Nader for almost 10 years, and she's simply the best! She's brilliant with cuts and color. I have very fine hair and get highlights. Heather has managed to actually improve the condition of my hair with her knowledge of the best products around. She listens to what I want, and I always leave feeling beautiful! This salon also has a fantastic atmosphere - fresh flowers, lovely decor, coffee, snacks and bagels on the weekend...They make sure you feel comfortable and completely at ease. I walked out of this salon crying... I walked in to cut my bangs only. ANY hairstylist knows how to cut bangs. I asked for NADER, the salon owner. He gave me so much attitude about how he doesn't cut bangs for non clients. I offered to pay him and he told me "it's not about money" I guess what he meant was "I don't know how to cut bangs!" I walked out of there crying; I have the shortest bangs ever!! I look like a 3 year old! I am going to Europe for vacation and I just don't know what I can do with my hair at this point! Blake has been cutting my hair for years. I followed him to Salon Nader from another local salon. Blake is awesome - always does a great job and makes you feel totally welcome. Reading some of the other reviews, I'd agree it is a more expensive option and usually a pretty busy place. The waiting area consists of 2 or 3 chairs right inside the door but honestly, I've always had an appointment and never waited more than a few minutes beyond my appointment time. My hair is completely straight and super fine so a good cut really counts. Generally, I've found people to be friendly but most importantly, Blake is worth every penny! read more

I scheduled my daughter for a blow dry. Picked her up and was presented with a $70 bill. Blow dry should be $30, they said it was because they curled her hair. Not ok. Called the owner to discuss and he never called back. They lost my family's business over $40 overcharge and no customer service. read more

I love Nader as a stylist. He is hands down the best hairdresser in the DC metro area. His skill is phenomenal. I go to him whenever I want something really flattering. dramatic, and cutting edge (no pun intended). He is really good at cutting your hair to flatter your face. I came to Salon Nader because my hairstylist Fia moved here from another salon. Fia is fantastic, sweet, and way cooler than I am (which to be fair, isn't very cool...but really, she is), and I've always loved what she does with my hair. The salon itself is fine -- a bit crowded and tight with too much hustle and bustle for my taste, not exactly what I would call a relaxing atmosphere. If you're looking for that, maybe head to an Elizabeth Arden instead. As another reviewer commented, there really isn't a seating area, so it might be uncomfortable if you have your kids with you. But if you want a great haircut, I highly recommend Fia at Salon Nader! I also got my eyebrows done here once, and she did a great job. read more

I've gone to Salon Nader for the last year or so for eyebrow waxing, always seeing Goldie. She does a fantastic job shaping eyebrows. I have also had bikini/leg waxes with her. She did a good job, but not the best. They don't have disposable panties so if you care about that, keep it in mind. I've heard she does great facials. I've also had haircuts here that were pretty good. The atmosphere is a bit hectic and customer service isn't the best but in my experience, quality has been good and I'm happy to have them local. read more

I am only mildly ashamed to admit that I drive all the way from Arlington to go to Salon Nader. I've been getting my hair cut and colored by Heather for a number of years. She is hands down the best hair stylist I have ever had. She is seriously creative with what she can do with your hair without taking it over the top. (well, at least that's my preference) I have been through some pretty drastic color changes and hair cuts with her and I have loved all of them. It's not often that you can say that. I decided to go here because my stylist moved to a different salon. I like the atmosphere here - its always hysterical to listen the stylists' convos. I had been going to this stylist for 5+ years and she always did an amazing job. But for some reason, the last 3-4 times I went the color wasn't coming out right. I was very disappointed because she usually made my hair look amazing - I think she just got lazy. Besides that, everyone at the salon is very qualified color-wise. A friend of mine got The Coppola treatment. Looking at her hair I immediately made an appointment. I was warmly greeted by Nader himself and felt like I stepped into a beautiful garden. Between the flower arrangement and the immediate attention I got from the warm staff I knew I was in for a treat. I met with Joseph who thoroughly explained the treatment process. He was funny, witty and an obvious master of his domain. I have long , curly and frizzy hair. The Coppola treatment took 3 hours to complete but let me tell you it was worth every minute of it. My hair has never been softer, shinier, freeze and hassle free in my entire life. It used to take me an hour and a half to blow dry my hair each time, now it takes me 30 minute. I wonder why I never heard of this treatment. I am totally in love! I am very picky while choosing my hair stylist and after my experience at Nader salon a Dear John letter to my previous hair stylist is a must! read more

Agreed that this place is horribly busy. I don't care. Joseph has been cutting my hair for more than 10 years (TEN YEARS), and I don't even live in Maryland anymore. That guy is a saint. He's warm, funny, and an amazing stylist. I've never left his chair with a bad cut, and will sometimes go more than 4 or 5 months between cuts just so I can catch him when I'm home to visit the folks. It's not that I haven't been looking for other stylists closer to me (believe me, I have) - but I've never found anyone like Joseph, and he's fixed all of those bad cuts. It sounds totally cliched, but I've had strangers in other cities ask me where I got my hair cut. A little part of me secretly gloats when I say "sorry, it was in DC." I don't know if the rest of the stylists there are any good, but they seem to have a steady stream of regular customers and everyone knows everyone else. I really don't care about the rest of the salon, though - I just wish Joseph was more portable. read more

I I have been having my hair cut (and I go to Salon Nader only for that) with Fia now for one year and I am very pleased. It is so difficult to find a hair stylist who can do consistently a good hair cut and I finally have found such person. She was recommended by the hair stylist who has been doing my husband hair cut at Salon Nader for years. It is a little bit pricier than other salons. . . as it should be (I paid $80 for haircut plus tip ) but I am doing it only 4-5 times a year and the quality of the cut is right on par with the price. read more
