I had a horrible experience at this spot today. I dropped in asking for a gel extension knowing it was a long shot last minute. The service was unavailable but I was told someone could remove my remaining gel extensions and do a regular manicure which was no problem. The tech was clearly in a hurry and gave zero care. She cut my pinky nail in half vertically then shrugged and said "no choice" when asking if I wanted a shorter nail. She also applied acetone to my bleeding nail after I said I was done and wanted to leave. While only $10, I am appalled that someone maimed my finger and expected money. This place uses the same foot scrubber on customers instead of opening a new one for every customer. This is a safety concern due to bacteria ... makes me curious how they clean their jetted pedicure soaker... would not come here for pedicures but manicures are safe. Also, they gave me a gel pedicure and my toes weren't dry all the way and bacteria grew on my toe nail. It is finally growing back. Will be reporting to the health inspector. read more

I had an appointment for a pedicure on a weekend and while the appearance turned out OK, it was a very rushed job. The foot bath was cold to lukewarm water at best, and my technician barely spent any time on the spa part because she was constantly distracted by answering the phone. Despite me getting the same service as my friend, I was done ages before her because her technician did a much more meticulous job and spent more time pampering her feet. Less than a week later after a full set with the Gel X nails and I've had to get one replaced the same day, literally an hour later. Then a second nail broke so I had to clip them all down. Now with the four remaining days this week, I've had a different nail fall off entirely, and both thumb nails broken and chipped. I literally had to schedule two weeks in advance because every time I called this local salon, they would be so booked. I waited patiently anticipating that my nails would be better quality than other salons I've been to in Bethesda. Needless to say, that wasn't the case. My initial appointment took 2 hours, followed up by the first replacement nail which took 20 minutes (because they had another customer). And when the second nail broke I scheduled them to fix it at 5:30 PM and got a call at 5:15 PM asking me to come in after their hours to get it fixed at 6:15 PM. If you don't plan on living here at this nail salon, I wouldn't bother going in the first place. Thanks, but no thanks! read more

Hands down the best nail salon that I've been too in the DMV area and I'm screaming FINALLY inside lol. Why might you ask? Well, I've been in the DMV since December 30th and have been to multiple nail salons that were absolutely horrible experiences. My Leader told me about this nail shop because it's walking distance from our workspace and most of the women go. So, I scheduled an appointment and made my way on down! Vy was absolutely amazing. She was kind, patient, and did a really awesome job on my nails. The environment is small, but it's peaceful and I recommend you call and make an appointment. I was staying at the Residence Inn Marriott and saw this salon while taking a walk on the same side of the street L'Vee is located. After checking their Yelp reviews, I made an appointment. This is a wonderful place - tasteful and soothing decor, soft background music, serene, (very) clean, with very competent, gracious, and kind-hearted staff. My mother and I had a pedicure. We both regretted not making an appointment for a manicure. We felt extremely safe as the COVID-19 protocols were clearly in place and yet, they didn't hit you over the head with it - as some places do. I was super impressed that when I put my sandals on, the pedicurist noticed some of my polish had scrapped off. She got down on her knees and repainted them! Overall: A+ service. If I return, it will be my go-to place and for out-of-town visitors in the Bethesda area, I highly recommend L'Vee. One challenge is parking and I suggest calling them to get clear instructions on where to park, especially if you are coming on a weekend. And also, when making reservations ensure you have the staff to repeat back your appointment details for clarity's sake.
