Tu and David are masters at what they do. I've gotten lashes and nails etc. done at various places and I'm glad I found this power couple because I'm never going anywhere else. So, I need to break this review into a few parts to address the different types of services. I will start with Cam Tu. Cam: Cam Tu is the consummate professional. She is so skilled at what she does. I have gone to her for lashes and eyebrow microblading and shading. Let me just say that I don't want to EVER go to anyone else for microblading!!! Cam is the best, hands down! I went to someone else a few years ago, and then came to Cam to fix it. I come back to her every year for a touch up, and I have recommended all of my friends to her, and they love her. She does such an amazing job, and I cannot recommend her highly enough! I just had an appointment at her salon today, and someone left after getting a permanent eyeliner service who had driven in from Delaware just so that Cam could do the service. That's how good she is! First of all, this place is an experience and not an appointment. If you were lucky enough to visit during the Christmas holiday, you would feel like you had just entered a winter wonderland. The ambience is so amazing, I just want to hang out here all day and drink hot chocolate. The customer service is impeccable. Since this place runs by appointment only, you don't have to worry about booking an appointment and waiting an hour because your time is valued here. Next, I want to talk about my nails. Um, have you ever met David at The Secret Jewel??? That is the name of the salon that Cam Tu and David run that is an extension of Cam Tu Beauty but also a nail salon. Like it's name, this jewel seems to be a secret, and I almost want to keep it that way because I don't want to end up on a waiting list when people find out how amazing this place is!!! David has years of experience, and it shows! His attention to detail is unparalleled, and my nails have never looked better. He does dip nails only. Some of you might be thinking, wait, what? I need acrylic. I promise you don't. I thought the same thing, and am now a true believer in dip nails. I will show you photos of my "birthday" nails and you will know what I mean. "Just dip" does not mean you can't have cool designs or tips. It is just an alternative to acrylic that is healthier for your nails. Trust me. I won't steer you wrong. David is a true artist and approaches your nails like a canvas. I happen to have lots of pictures of what I want my nails to look like, but lack the creativity to design them myself. No worries. David is literally a "nail artist." I gave him a few colors and told him to do what he does...I trusted him, and he delivered in a big way. David is so focused on perfection and detail, I felt like I was a celebrity client! This is a long review to basically say that Cam Tu Beauty/The Hidden Jewel is THE best kept secret around. If you want to experience exceptional customer service where you are actually greeted at the door and asked if you would like a drink, as well as having access to extremely talented professionals who will make you look amazing, come here! I can't say enough about my appointment with Tu. She is so talented, very professional, and quick!! I sent her a picture before my appointment and she completely nailed my vision for my Gala. Tu listened to what I was looking for and she took the time to get my brows just right in a mock up before she went to work. I felt completely safe and assured that I was in good hands. The process went exactly as expected and I was given everything I needed to begin the healing process. My touch up went great and I am SO HAPPY with my brows! I had my eyebrows microbladed by Tu and I'll say that I'm so happy I found her on Instagram. She's professional, punctual, pays attention to details and experienced. She was also good at responding to my emails when requesting appointments or answering questions in a timely manner. Her work space is clean, smells good and has a nice vibe to go along with the great music she had playing in the background. The procedure itself wasn't as painful as I expected it to be. I felt comfortable. Fast forward about 3 months later and I'm still satisfied with my new brows. I went from a dreadful morning brow routine to not having to do anything at all with my brows if I don't feel like it. My new brows look natural but I still darken them on occasions when I want a more dramatic look to go along with my makeup. I got my eyebrows microbladed by Tu on August 18th, 2019. It is now December 7th, 2019 and I can definitely say Tu is BOMB at what she does! She isn't just beautiful on the outside, she is beautiful on the inside too. Her studio is very clean, professional and welcoming. I did a lot of research before getting my brows done and wanted to make sure I found the BEST of the BEST in Maryland, which I most definitely did (: I get compliments daily on my eyebrows, when I tell them my eyebrows are tattooed on most people can't believe it because of how realistic the hair strokes look. I got the hair strokes + ombré combo. Or as Tu says "the blade & shade". I am so pleased and happy with my results. Tu always makes sure you are 100% happy & satisfied with your eyebrows before leaving her studio! And never fails to give amazing customer service and results!
