I have been coming here for years to get the best best pedicure around. Their pedicure is more detail oriented and not thorough than other Rockville salons I have been to and they go the extra mile for sure in terms of foot care. In addition they are very kind and even offer coffee to their customers. I live that! It feels like good old fashioned kindness and great customer service. These ladies always have a smile. Makes a big difference especially when I compare it to the rough, dry, overly business and unfriendly attitude at the last salon J went to which is near Andy's and quite popular. This is what happens when you forget to write your reviews in a timely manner.. you forget the person's name who you adored... I am already bad with names so this was just a double whammy! I was in DC visiting my friend who just moved to the area and it was her bday so we were going out ( those reviews will be posted shortly). So I needed to get a mani/pedi and decided on Andy nails as it was the closest to her apartment. I got there and there was no one there which was fantastic it was really early in the day on a Friday.. The very friendly young lady whose name eludes me was awesome! She took her time with my pedicure and my feet looked fantastic when she was done! She even made my nails salvageable since I am a situational nail biter and these were one of those times I destroyed my nails. Unfortunately this is not a nail salon that I would recommend AT ALL. I have been a faithful customer for a few years now. I normally get a gift certificate to this nail salon and due to the uprise in COVID-19, my gift certificate has expired. Please keep in mind that this gift certificate is PRE-PAID. I have called this shop to let them know that it has only expired a few days ago and I would like to still use this being that I again, have ALREADY PAID $50 as a gift from a family member. Instead of the manager allowing me to obtain a service where they already have collected my money, they told me they are not allowing me to receive service and have NOT offered me any sort of refund for this inconvenience. This is the very first place I have ever gotten my Manicure. And have been coming back ever since. Mostly because of their employee Jade, she cuts and styles my hair in another establishment in VA. Jade is an amazing worker. She not only does a very detailed and amazing job, but she's also very caring for your needs, offering snacks and drinks. The place is located in a very hidden place above other shops, but this hidden gem of a place is a must-go-to for all your beauty needs. I have also done my Facial here as well! Took about an hour, (normally would take 40-45mins) but only because we were conversing so well and Jade was very precise with her work. I looked 10 years younger NO JOKE! The place is AMAZINGLY run by a fantastic boss and employees who have amazing personalities. ( She will definitely keep you entertained and talking ) It's got a lot of clients despite it's hidden location, for obvious reasons that once you experience this place, it's hard to not come back. But I made this account and post for mainly because last night, I was having such a terrible day, having a horrible family crisis if you may, and I wanted a place to take me out of that dilemma even for a little bit. Jade talked to me and calmed me down about everything and showed me that life will still go on. All in all, this place is very different from where you are used to going. Place that you are able to talk to everyone like a family. It's not a staff-filled shop where there's 20 people sitting around waiting for customers, it's a very tight nit place of 3-4 employees who is more like a family to everybody than anything else. The price is VERY cheap and affordable, and like I said, I come here for the experience, everything else amazing they do on their work is just a cherry on an already perfect Cake. PS. Must go to Jade. She really takes her time and does quality work. My gel full sets typically only last a week at best because I work with my hands often, these lasted 2+ weeks! My pedicure was equally as good. She knew I had to wear shoes to leave right away so she covered my toes with some oil and wrapped them in plastic before putting my shoes back on so my toes wouldn't get ruined. We picked this salon as one of our many stops during my friend's bachelorette celebration after extensive research on many salons in the area, and do not regret our decision to add this particular one to our itinerary. There were 5 of us in the party, and all of us either went for a manicure, pedicure, or both. The service was fast, as the store was not too busy with other customers during the time that we went. We didn't make an appointment for our group, but we were served immediately. The workers were all really friendly, and also patient with us as we paused to take multiple photos. They even helped us take group photos as well. Each manicure was $13, and there was a good selection of nail polish in every shade of color that I could imagine. The manicures were very thorough, I felt like my nails were shaped and hangnails clipped to perfection. I usually have the tendency of messing up my nails before they are thoroughly dried, but the ladies working here were patient enough to redo one of the nails that I had messed up. Both the regular manicures and gel manicures were good in quality and lasted throughout the week. I didn't receive a pedicure, but a couple of my friends did. The manicure/pedicure package was $35, while a pedicure alone was $26. According to my friends, the workers did a good job on the pedicures and they felt very relaxed and pampered throughout the experience. My kids and I have been to this nails place numerous times. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They do a thorough job on pedicures. Clearly, they have a large following of happy customers who are all on first name terms. The owner, Tina, is especially funny. In her broken English with a strong Vietnamese accent, she cracks jokes and keeps her customers smiling - pretty amazing for someone who works 7 days a week. She will even make you a cup of tea or coffee if you like. SAVE YOUR MONEY My friend and I went to get pedicures here about a week ago. Her experience was much different from mine. My water was cold by the time I was serviced and the lady made no effort to reheat the water even after I asked. I gave clear directions not to touch my big toe nail as it has an ingrown that will be getting looked at by a doctor, she ignored me and attempted to removed the deeply embedded ingrown her self using a sharp metal stick. The pain caused me to kick over some supplies and she seemed annoyed by that. She dug so much that my toe started to bleed. She cut the sides of feet as she removed the calluses. She just didn't seem to care. After she stuck the metal object in my nail I was done with the service, I didn't even want to get polish. I was charge $28.00 for a basic pedicure that left me with a bloody toe and cut feet. It's unfortunate because this place has decent reviews. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, either way I will not be returning. I'm giving it 2 stars because my friend had a better experience with the young lady doing her pedicure. read more

I've been going to Andy Nails for many years. I've tried other places, but always come back. Went today with a friend for a mani-pedi, and as usual, I left very happy. Jade did my mani/pedi, and she did a most excellent job--felt pounds lighter from all the dead skin she took off my feet! They use all kinds of tools to help get the dead skin/calluses off, but they're careful, equipment is all sterilized, etc. They have an enormous selection of OPi & Essie polishes, the place is clean and welcoming, and Tina offered both my friend and I coffee, cookies, and made us feel right at home. My friend has gone tomany places for her gel coat and filler, but she says she's sold on Tina Nails. Jade, Tina & Michelle do outstanding work, and best of all--the prices are excellent! I have had 3 other good pedicure experiences with Andy Nails, but my most recent one was so bad, they have lost me as a customer. This used to be my go to place for pedicures because I love the power tool machine they use to make your feet super smooth. Not sure how sanitary that is, but hey, it worked and I liked it. A few weeks ago I had a friend visiting in town and wanted to treat her to a pedicure. I made us appointments and we went. One woman was finishing up another client and using the power tool on her (this is to say that I saw they had the tool there still). My friend and I were picking out nail colors when two other girls walked in right behind us. We sat down and they got started on us. They literally did our feet in 8 minutes, rushing so much, I think so they could get the other two girls appointments going. They did NOT use the power tool machine, which made me extremely sad. My friend didnt even realize her pedicure was finished; it was that fast. I was so disappointed in the service we received. And especially since I had talked up this place to my friend. We even had appointments. Because of this terrible service, I will not return. read more

I was in the Rockville area and decided to use Yelp to find a nail salon last minute. The salon closed at 8pm and I arrived around 7:30. I wanted a pedicure and manicure. The pedicure water was lukewarm at best after I complained to owner, Tina, that I wanted it warmer; she never obliged. Fast forward to the pedicure, the owner used a power tool, a sander/buffer, on the bottom of my feet. I was horrified thinking water and electricity don't usually mix! Fast forward to my manicure: again the owner Tina recommended I get an overlay since I explained that when I usually get gel polish over my natural nails, it chips or peels after a couple days...next thing you know, she's pulling out the artificial nails and acrylic. Again I'm horrified bc I haven't had nail tips in over 10 years. She explains my nails were too short for an overlay although I've had an overlay before where the tech simply sculpted the acrylic over my short nails. Tina decided to put tips on all ten fingers! So at this point I'm nervous and on top of my dissatisfaction, she filed by nails so badly that a couple fingers were bleeding on the sides. Long story short, by the end of her polishing with gel polish and doing a design that I showed her on Instagram, the finished job was awful. I also had to instruct her to fix the shape of my nails which were not symmetrical on all ten fingers. Then I was shocked to notice she used nail tips that were too small which caused this awkward shape. I explained my dissatisfaction to her many times but she did nothing to fix it since by this time it's almost 10pm and I had already been there too long and other customers left and basically the salon was closed and her and husband were ready to leave. I will NEVER go back here and recommend no one go back as well unless you like awkwardly shapes nails with a bad paint job and nail design that a 10 year old can execute. read more

I love Andy's salon. First of all it's clean and the service is friendly. I always go to Michelle, I love her. She is very neat and careful with her mani/pedis. Plus she does excellent nail designs. I've tried out other nail salons but they've never done as good as a job as this one. The shop itself is very neat and clean (unlike so many other shops I've seen). What a bummer. I've just run a marathon - my first - and eagerly await the "celebration pedicure" where I'll finally get to relax, give my legs and feet a little TLC and clean up those nasty toenails that have been through so much the past 16 weeks of training. I've been in Bethesda for a year now and still cannot find "my" nail place. Based on the other Yelp reviews, I give Andy Nails a go hoping THIS will be the one I can call my own. I should have known from the minute I walked in the door this was a no-go. 1) After being told on the phone I had to make an appointment, I arrive 10 minutes early and receive zero directive. No "go pick your color," "wait over there, we'll be right with you," etc. So I sit. Awkwardly. 2) I wait for 30 minutes as I watch one of two nail technicians speed through two pedicures. The other is preoccupied with a "regular" (aka: overly bossy and demanding mother/daughter pair) and cannot be distracted to help out her colleague. 3) When I'm finally addressed - along with an apology which I graciously accepted - I receive a 20 minute pedicure during which: power tools were broken out (yikes...is that safe?), unsterilized clippers were employed (the language barrier forced me into accepting this fate), the tech cuts me and I start to bleed (I'm told I'm fine - thanks.) and end up having everything from my toenails to my toes covered in purple polish (that'll take hours to scrub off). I'm visibly less than pleased afterwards and walk out, tip still in wallet. The pedicure was $3 less than Cindy's up the Pike, but I'll be going back there if for no other reason that lesser risk of infection. read more

I would not recommend Andy Nails. I was trying to find a new nail place at a reasonable cost. When I went in, I asked if they do pink and white gel and the woman seemed hesitant but said yes. This worried me. Then five minutes into her doing my nails, another woman came in who had just gotten tips put on a few days prior and she said almost every tip is falling off or has fallen off. This is when I knew I was in trouble. The lady that did my nails would just do things without asking me. I had to repeatedly tell her to cut my nails down and she tried to put some weird pink top coat without asking me first. The worst part is the white lines/gel are so crooked. I've never had a nail technician do this with pink and white gel. I asked her if she was going to fix it and she said yes but then did nothing. My nails look awful! The worst part is they were a mere $5 cheaper than the more expensive place I usually go to. This place is definitely not worth the $5! read more

Not impressed at all. I went in for a pedicure and Michelle was nice but my issue is with the pedicure and price. I've had color changes that took more time and effort. I requested the spa pedicure with mood changing gel. I paid $35 but I feel as if the service was worth $15 at most. My "spa pedicure" took 20 min. She spent more time shaping my toe nail. My feet were dipped in water. Barely a scrub and oil on the feet at the end. The paint job is sloppy. And most of all the color is not changing. I wasn't impressed with anything done- very disappointed. Shop was small, the ladies were nice, I ddnt think the shop looked organized very cluttered and I don't think they sanitize the tools or bowl which I ddnt realize till I was done- when I arrived they only had one other lady finishing her pedicure so I was seen immediately. No liner in the bowl and I did not witness tools coming from the sanitizer machine. What made me take notice was the towel she dried my feet off with looked raggedy and I could smell it. The foot file came from a bowl that was in between my chair and the lady that had just finished her pedicure so I don't think it was sanitized. I won't be returning read more

This has been my nail salon for more than 15 years. I went first as a walk-in, and have been a loyal customer ever since. Tina always accommodates me, even on short notice. The ladies who work here are lovely but I am so disappointed in my manicure's I have gotten here the last few times. I wanted to try them one last time so this past Friday I went and was happy to see they had the dip powder for the nails now. I was told that it would last about a month and that it adhered to the nail and it made it nearly impossible to come off, it would just grow out with the nail. Within a day two of the dipped nails just popped off and by day 5 all of them had fallen off. I paid a lot of money for nothing. Tina has been doing my mani/pedis and she does an excellent job. The pedis last for weeks, and my manis last for close to 2 weeks. The manicurists are very friendly and the shop is immaculate. I was unsatisfied with my full set. the paint job was horrible. my nails came out crooked & they aren't filed down good. I am not happy with my nails. Once I was sat down & she started to put the nails on she asked me how long I wanted it to be. I wanted a nice amount of it and she cut it at first exactly how I wanted it. than she said it was to long and cut it down. secondly they were even glued on straight. when it came closer to the filing it was filings well on the sides, the middle nor under the nail. when she was painting you just didn't do a good job. it was all over the place. I dried them off and just left. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go here. read more

Andy's Nails is a hidden gem - not easy to see from the street but definitely worth going! Its clean - my number one requirement - and they have a very good selection of polish. The prices are reasonable and my pedis last an amazingly long time, and look perfect. I'm not a big talker, but Tina and Jade are very friendly and sweet - I feel very at home there. It's great having a nail place that I want to go to, not just because I need to go because my nails need it. Jade always does my pedis and she is excellent!
