Decided to try this spa for a massage. Free parking right outside. The place is a bit outdated, but the massage table seemed clean. No frills spa, which is fine because the price was ok. I made an appointment, but they have a lot of rooms and masseuse, so the girl after me was able to do a walk-in. I love lots of pressure and my masseuse was able to deliver! She made sure I was fine with the pressure a few times throughout the massage. Friendly and nice. I had gotten a Groupon and was lectured a bit at the front about not being able to use it again without me saying anything. But I'm used to this attitude and understand they don't get much after the fees, so no argument there and she gave me a discount card for $10 off next time - $60 for 60 minutes. Treated myself to a 60 minute massage, which I really enjoyed here. Came right when they opened at 10am and there was already a couple customers ahead of me. My masseuse was really good, keeping the pressure at medium the entire time like I asked for. If you're looking for a good massage for some relaxation, don't skip Oceana Spa! It's definitely not fancy, but does the trick. Parkint available in the lot directly in front of the spa. If you pay with credit card, a small surcharge is applied. I really wanted to like this place because the massage itself was actually quite good--but unfortunately, everything else about the experience completely overshadowed that. The facility was noticeably dirty and not well-maintained, which immediately made me uncomfortable. On top of that, the staff was rude and unwelcoming from the start. It was very clear they were annoyed that I was using a Groupon that had been gifted to me, which made the entire visit feel awkward and unwelcome. The most unacceptable part, however, happened after I left. I provided a 20% tip, which I felt was appropriate, but the woman at the front desk actually followed me out into the parking lot to confront me and complain that it wasn't enough. I've never experienced anything like that before--it was incredibly unprofessional and honestly shocking. Great place to come if you don't want to make a reservation. They have plenty of therapist and many rooms. I prefer really deep tissue massages and someone to walk on my back. We enjoyed a fairly relaxing and soothing couples' massage via a Groupon deal. The scheduling process was easy, free of language barriers, and swift. Groupon ordered and appointment scheduled just a few days ahead. Our appointment time was respected and started on time, and we were permitted to go maskless for showing our vax cards. The massage was done well, was the full hour, was thorough, and included hot stones treatment, which enhanced the overall appeal. The only few down sides are too much chatting and laughing between the male and female masseuses (about 10 minutes of the 1-hour massage), abruptly exiting the room leaving the door wide open (letting in outside conversation and noise) without indicating how long they'd be gone or why (to get the hot stones), and (I assume accidentally) knocking over a few loud things creating a disruptive atmosphere. The room was otherwise fairly quiet except some whispers of conversation from the next room. Although located on a busy road in a not so busy strip mall, the noise containment was very good. Music and decor made the experience a touch nicer. We left $29 in cash tip, literally all that was in our wallets. Bring cash for tip. read more

Excellent service and price! I was in town visiting a friend from Seattle. I usually try to get a massage once every month or every two months at the longest. It's been quite some time and it was just getting to be unbearable tightness in my back neck and shoulders.. Ye Wah (?) did an amazing job in my 60 minute massage. She made sure to check if there was any need to adjust pressure was extremely thorough in attending for the areas that I specified. I feel so much better. Worst massage that I've ever experienced. The masseuse, Kelly, was causing far more pain than relaxing me. I kept telling her less pressure, but she just couldn't to that, for whatever reason. I kept telling her that what she was doing was causing more pain than anything else, but she simply didn't get it. My daughter and I paid upfront $90 each for 90 minutes but only got 70 minutes (lame excuses and arguments followed). Afterwards, we handed the manager a $100 bill and requested $60 change, meaning to give a $20 (22%) tip per masseuse. Instead, only $50 was given back; apparently the massage tip rate was higher than that of the dining industry's (really?). So, we ended up leaving $25 (27.8%) gratuities each for something that completely fell short out of pressure. This was an early Mother's Day gift from my daughter, who was visiting from overseas... I won't go into more unbelievably unpleasant experiences here. But please remember that in general one-star reviews are more reliable than 5-star ones. My husband and I were there for a couples 60 minute massage. Once we walked in, we were greeted ( check ) Then we were asked to pay first, ok no problem ( check). Then we were asked to tip ( woah wait...we didn't get service yet. A Tip?" . After the massage the staff made us uncomfortable about the tip thing to the point they watched us walk to our car to see if we will return with money at hand. They refused the tip I originally offered while we were there, which I know was a reasonable amount. Besides that, the massages were well done. My husband didn't like the stones on him, says they burn. Other than the tip craziness, we had a decent time relaxing. I am rating two stars since the tip chaos caused my anxiety to peak which is ironic, my desire were to relax and ease my mind. I don't recommend going there. Find elsewhere that won't pressure you to do anything especially before actually getting what you are paying for. read more

I snapped a photo of that and the prices and the ocean picture, but one of the managers asked if I could please delete the photos. Because she was polite about it, I deleted the photos. The remarks she made in her native tongue did not sound so nice. Asking her staff members to check and see if I removed the photo came off as a bit rude, but I won't hold that against her. Holy cow... those little ladies are so freakin strong! I had a very sore lower back from moving and a week of unpacking and building furniture. My fiancé and I decided to get massages. These ladies had magical hands. They worked loose every single knot we had. Almost had me in tears, though I wasn't sure if they were tears of joy or pain. Hurt so good! I felt amazing afterwards! They were all masked, sanitized the rooms, and checked everyone's temperature. They worked the full hour. The hot stones were like floating up to heaven. Such a fantastic deal! I don't know how this place is still in business. First of all, the building is very dingy and appears unsanitary. I walked into the massage with no pain whatsoever but as I write this review my back is still hurting from what I endured. The first thing I did when the masseuse walked in the door was ask for light pressure yet I've never experienced a massage so rough. I stopped her mid massage to ask for light pressure again, but at that point the damage was done. After receiving the worst massage of my life, my friends and I still gave a cash tip and were harassed by the workers at the door, telling us that we got a good deal and the masseuses deserved more money. My biggest regret is tipping them at all because they deserved nothing. Only come here if you'd like to leave with an injury. Otherwise, spend the extra money and go to a real spa. read more

My usual spot was fully booked, so I decided to give this place a try since it has 4 stars review. Worst mistake I made...when I first walked in, the lady asked me to pay right away which was odd. I told her I wanted to wait until the end so I could tip all together. I emphasized I needed a deep tissue massage and need to focus on my neck and shoulder. In the 90 minutes time, I told the therapist repeatedly to put more pressure and she didn't listen. I also asked her if she could focus on my neck and shoulder and she also ignored. Despite the poor massage, I decided to tip 15%. The front desk person had the guy to tell me to tip more. I told her the massage was horrible then she proceeded to tell me I needed to pay $2 for credit card fee and then said "Sorry this lady is new". I told her I will never return to this place. The Massuese asked the type of pressure I needed and gave a great deep tissue massage. I felt reinvigorated after the massage was finished. They provide excellent service in spacious, clean and private rooms. They can get busy, but will accommodate if you make a reservation in advance, but walk ins can also be accommodated, if they're not too busy. They pay attention to details and your needs and ask what pressure and style/techniques. The only thing I'll ding is occasionally you'll hear other therapist talking in the break room, can be a slight distraction, but again a minor blip. read more

Well my friends and I were on Rockville pike and decided it'd be nice to get some massages before lunch! They had availability which was great, also asked us to pay before anything which is okay too. Mind you no one asked of any preference in masseuse or health concerns. We get walked to the back and I'm left to undress and get under the sheets and the male masseuse just opens the door while I'm undressing and continues to peek in the door while I'm looking at him telling him I'm not ready! So uncomfortable! The massage was really rough and I asked not to touch my hands do to injuries and he continuously kept doing so and laughing and did not listen when I said not to touch my face and again he laughed! I had to raise my voice and told him I was fine with the massage being over but he continued even when I told him to stop. Very wrong. I will never recommend this place. The sheets were dirty, I could not relax, left sore, and at one point someone OPENED the door and he walked out MID MASSAGE! My usual massage place was booked solid and I really needed a last minute massage to help get some knots out so when I saw Oceana driving down rockville pike I figured why not try calling. It was almost an hour before their close time so I was especially glad they were able to take me in. The place looks rather creepy from the outside, and is very cold and dingy on the inside. It's clean, but doesnt really feel like a spa or even professional compared to other similar massage places in the area. I was immediately taken to my room down a narrow hallway and was asked for payment before the massage started- I assumed they wanted to finish their accounting for the day early- I did give them my credit card and was able to add a tip to it before anything even started. The massuese came in about 5 minutes later and after a quick hello she started the massage. I get massages quite often so I know what the basics are to expect... This was not it. Aside from not even asking what kind of pressure I needed or if I had come in with any particular issues that I wanted addressed, she really didnt seem to know how to give a massage or release knots. I don't understand the good reviews for this place. Here is my experience after getting a Groupon for a couple's hot stone massage: Bad experience! First off, this place is sketchy & dingy. They were 15 minutes late to start, and they just dropped me and my partner into the room without saying anything. The room was tiny and very dimly lit. The masseuses also came in and started without saying a word--an introduction would have been nice! Within the first 10 minutes, I could tell that my masseuse did not know what she was doing. I was in pain and not from muscle tightness but because she was pushing on the wrong parts of my back. At a couple points, I felt like she was on my spine! My upper back is very tight, so I asked her a little into the massage if she could focus on that. She barely spoke English so she didn't know what I was talking about. She then did a bit of upper back and continued to do the full body massage. Most of the time was spent on my limbs and not on my back. The two masseuses kept speaking to each other in Chinese. My upper back is STILL very tight, and if anything, my back is hurting more today! I feel sore and not in a good way. I'm pretty sure the masseuse hurt one side of my neck too! The worst part? They pushed a higher tip at the end! The lady wouldn't let it go! Do NOT go here, even though the price is enticing. Worst massage I have ever had. read more

Without and sort of introduction or instruction, she dropped us off in the room and left. My partner and I assumed that we're to disrobe and did. Then, two women came in and, again, didn't introduce themselves or ask our names or what massage we were getting. For the first couple minutes of the massage, they whispered back and forth to each other, which was very distracting. And I can't speak for my partner, but the women who massaged me mostly just hurt my back. Her nails continually dug into my arms and scratched me. It was weird. Great massage place that really gets rid of your knots. Just know that if you don't pay them a decent tip, they will chase you down and ask for more (which is extremely unprofessional). The spa is not your typical high class luxurious spa, but for the price it is a soothing massage parlor that is clean with comfortable beds. I would come back here for a massage for sure. read more
