    Margherita Pizza

One of my favorite pizzas. The dough is fantastic. Pair that with a side of their fresh ranch, and you have a perfect pairing. True food offers many clean and healthy options with food that's sourced from verified farms. You can always expect seasonal menu changes and food options that are on the healthier side.

I tried and loved this pizza 4 years ago, so we ordered it for takeout. It's a great combination of unique toppings, and the pizza feels so light and healthy to eat. The restaurant itself was spaceous and pretty. Almost every table was full and the service was very fast!

We ordered off of the brunch menu which goes on until 3pm (at least on Saturday anyway). The food was good but a little pricy for what you get. The sweet potatoes were fantastic and the avocado is fresh. The grilled bread was lovely and nice to dip in your food/runny eggs. The chili crunch, which is like a chili crisp, is phenomenal. Highly recommend. They had cholula as well and the other woman was extremely apologetic bc apparently they ran out and that was all they could get. But it was more than enough cholula. The demeanor of the separate servers was starkly diff with the one who brought the hot sauces being very friendly and apologetic and the other having a very flat affect, no smile, absent of any emotion. The "steak" is paltry so be warned if you decide to order anything with steak. It was a measly 3 or 4 tiny pieces that hardly qualify as steak. It was almost as if they had one steak strip and sliced it up to make it seem like there was more than there was but it had the opposite efffect. I asked our server Kourtney for medium rare and she said that it tends to be closer to medium rare than medium which was NOT true at all. That's like calling a pigeon a goose. My friend whom I dined with got the same thing and she noted that she also got hardly any steak at all and it was tiny. She asked for medium well done because she is expecting. Maybe they just nuked all the steak to make it easier on themselves. Ambience is chill and open area. Big open windows are good for people watching. High ceilings and modern type of place. Similar to tender greens but fancier. Hostess was nice. Apologized for the wait and mentioned that they were busy. This was on a Saturday at late 1ish/2pm. I would come back but would order something different.

We sat in the screened-in outdoor section, which was really nice, but the inside had a fun vibe that would be great for a date night or girls night. We ordered the spicy pineapple margaritas and really enjoyed them. Our server recommended the edamame dumplings to start, and they were very good. We shared the Margherita pizza, which was just okay. We like that they use healthier ingredients, but the toppings were uneven, as you can see in our picture. We also ordered sides of the Tuscan-dusted fries and the kale salad, and both were great. Service was respectful and prompt. We'd come back to try other menu items, but probably wouldn't order pizza there again.

I really enjoyed the food at True Food Kitchen. I loved all the healthy and plant-based options that are 100% seed oil free. It's also really helpful to see the macros listed for each menu item. It was difficult to choose, but I was excited about the air-fried chicken options and went with the Crisp'd green salad. The air fried chicken was delicious and all the veggies were fresh and perfect. My husband's seasonal salad was also delicious. True Food Kitchen had some great kids meals options as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my iced lavender matcha latte-it was earthy, floral, and refreshing. I'd love to go back.

I came in a Monday around noon for lunch. I ordered the SZA CZA Ceasar Salad. It was just ok, not note worthy. It states it came with croutons, but as seen in my photo taken-- it came with very minimal croutons. I also would have preferred a bit more dressing on the salad. However, the crunch on the kale was nice. The waitress was attentive, and the food came out quickly.

I was very happily surprised that vegetarian, vegan gluten free food here was very tasty.. it was clean and inviting.. Kudos to our waiter Daniel who was very nice, knowledgeable, answered all my questions, attentive and made our experience there pleasant.. I'm not one to eat "healthy" but I have to say I enjoyed it.. the portions were small but enough to fill you.. The dessert.. chocolate cake wasn't my favourite but the vegan vanilla ice cream was pretty good..

We had high hopes after reading the description online and looking at the menu. Our server was nice but a little standoffish. I had the American burger, which was good. My husband had the teriyaki bowl with chicken added. The avocado in his bowl was inedible because it was very hard. The bowl had good flavor, but was somehow still a little bland. Our friends ordered three specialty refreshers and two of the three drinks were left after a few sips. The OG had too much ginger and the lavender and Matcha drink was not good. I was surprised that the server never acknowledged that the drinks were left untouched. My knife was dirty and put off to the side which again she never commented on or acknowledged.

I dined in at True Food Kitchen with a group and had an okay experience. We had a reservation and chose to sit in the bar area. It was a beer to start for me and the smoke show old fashioned for my husband. For food we started with charred cauliflower for the table. For our entrees it was the meatloaf for me and the pesto pasta for my husband. Our friends tried the tenderloin and lasagne al pesto. The starter was really good but the entrees were just okay. I also thought that the service was a little bit slow. It would not be my first choice to dine at in North Hills.

Went here for lunch with my sister. The food was pretty good. The burger I enjoyed the toppings although I would say that I had to order an extra side of the sauce because without it it was pretty dry. We also got the chard cauliflower which was very good. My sister got the sza ceaser salad and it was huge. It's definitely able to be split by at least two people. The mashed potatoes were pretty underwhelming though. The service was great overall.

What a great addition to the North Hills area! It's positioned well near plenty of street parking and a parking garage that isn't too far. The service is excellent, very warm and attentive as soon as you walk in the door and until you head out to leave. It's a lively restaurant with plenty of seating and a spacious bar as well. For dinner, we decided on the spicy panang curry bowl and the bougie blanco pizza. Both were amazing!! The curry was filled with seasonal vegetables and fresh herbs. There's a hint of spice for those who may be sensitive. The bougie pizza is topped with Parmesan cream, black truffle, hot honey, and arugula. Great complementary flavors!! Both dishes were fresh and fulfilling. The food reminds me of farm to table as they outsource many foods from local organizations. I look forward to visiting again soon and trying other menu items!

We went to True Food Kitchen last night after hearing all the hype and yes, it was with the hype! I made a reservation for five but it ended up only being three of us. I tried to call prior but didn't get answer; the woman at the front host stand was so kind about it. No big deal. The ambiance is casual and relaxed, yet modern. It almost reminded me of a fancier CAVA atmosphere with a beautiful bar. So much greenery and lighting. Our servers were AMAZING. We had two since we were there for three hours. Shoutout to WOODY & SAMANTHA R. Both kind, attentive, and funny; just all around good people and very knowledgeable with the menu tour! We started with a bottle of wine to share, a favorite of mine that is a Paso Robles Cabernet. They had a pretty extensive wine and drink menu, which is always good. They also offer different coffees and teas! We were brought waters too, and random yes, but they were just crispy and delicious. Cold water but no ice, perfect. The menu is so fun. There are so many different options and we of course had to try quite a few dishes to share! I love an extensive yet not overwhelming menu; we weren't in a rush and at not one point did we feel rushed by our servers. We started with the Tuna Lettuce Wraps & Edamame Truffle Dumplings. The Ahi Tuna Wraps were good, but let me tell you about these Dumplings: WOW. Woody recommended these and so did my friend, but I didn't need convincing. I could have eaten another order to myself. They are so flavorful, with a whisper of truffle but not too overpowering as truffle can sometimes be. I brought an extra order home to my husband and he also loved them. 10/10, do not skip these! We opted to share the classic Pepperoni Pizza as a next step; these are made with sourdough and so delicious! They are thin crust, but the actual crust is a bit thicker so it was perfect. We also ordered entrées; Nashville Chicken Sandwich, Thai Noodle Peanut Bowl, and Pot Roast Beef Dip. I tried the Nashville Chicken as this was air fried and light, yet still delicious, flavorful, and you didn't feel gross eating it, not a fan of fried foods and this was great. I also tried some tofu out of the Thai Noodle Peanut Bowl; so yummy, I love tofu! My own entrée was the Pot Roast Beef Dip. Think French Dip with Pot Roast, this was amazing! Cooked tender and the flavor was on point! We also shared a side of the Macaroni & Cheese (two sides, one for my dish and my sister got one originally to try), and unfortunately it was pretty bland. It has potential with more flavor/seasonings though! I got the Bougie Blanco pizza to go for leftovers, and this pizza was AMAZING! It's a Parmesan cream sauce, black truffle (again, not too overbearing) arugula, and served with a size of house-made hot honey. So yummy! Overall, we had a great experience at True Food Kitchen, a lovely addition to the cozy North Hills space. We will absolutely be back, and I highly recommend it! Also, fun fact: if you go Monday-Thursday and download the inKind app, you get $25 off of $75, and then earn even more cash for your next trip! Super simple and great that they do this. Check out their website for details!

Plant based burger with hard gluten free bun.
    Maree S.

Don't get the plant based burger with the gluten free bun. The patties were salty and crumbled off immediately and the bun was difficult to bite through. The food is too expensive to be bad. Atmosphere and service were nice but we left feeling disappointed.

We got the Cast Iron Skillet Cornbread, Grilled Romaine, Hearts of Palm & Lion's Mane "Crabcakes", and Southern Style Plate with BBQ "pork". The cornbread was so moist and the crabcakes were flavorful. The grilled romaine was a revelation - I loved whatever creamy sauce it came with, the candied nuts, and the smokiness of the romaine. The BBQ "pork" was probably my least favorite thing, but don't get me wrong, it was still tasty. We asked for a little more BBQ sauce to go with it and our waitress got it for us right away. "Nepalese and Indian food in downtown Raleigh, near Marriott"…read more With a great location, this is VERY close to the Raleigh Convention Center. We arrived on a Thursday night at 6pm with a group of 5. The dining area didn't really accommodate a group that size, but they made it work by moving tables around, which was nice. The place was not very large, but there was maybe only one other family eating inside. The bathroom was clean. I split two dishes with my son-- salmon tikka masala and shrimp (prawn) saag, both coming with rice. We were given some papadum, I think, as a snack as we waited on the food, along with some spicy dips. Food came in maybe 10 minutes or so, which was great timing. However, I have to say, both dishes we tried were underwhelming. The shrimp was oddly translucent and not very flavorful in its dish, and the spinach in the saag wasn't especially tasty (though it did have a nice spiciness). The tikka masala sauce was great, but the salmon also was pretty underwhelming. We both said we'd probably just get chicken next time and not splurge the extra for the salmon. No dish was "bad", but just we expected them to be delicious and they were just OK. I'm just really surprised given how many people said this was the "best Indian" they'd had. The staff were friendly-- refilled drinks well and were good at answering questions. And the price was reasonable. Altogether, I'll give it 4 stars given the great location, good service, good price, but not 5 given the food was "just OK". Realistically, I probably wouldn't go back-- we have lots of great Indian in Durham and Chapel Hill, so I'd rather wait and get that.
