My husband and I bought a truck on August 23rd from the Mesa Trucks Only. We went there for that truck in particular.Originally when I saw this truck on the web site a week earlier, it had a DVD player listed in the features. When we arrived to test drive this truck, there was a very large hole in the headliner where the DVD player had been removed. The price had not been reduced but the DVD was no longer listed on the site. There was also writing on the windshield to paint the grill. We asked about this.We were told that it still needed to be done. The salesman, Jeff, was pushing the sale of this truck, as all used car salespeople do.He asked,"What it would take for us to buy this truck?"We explained that the hole in the headliner was unacceptable and there were some really bad scratches that we asked to have touched up with the correct color of paint. He said,"We would never let this truck leave the lot with a hole in the headliner.Don't worry, that will be taken care of."As we were signing the papers for the truck,we asked again about the headliner being fixed, the grill being painted and the scratches. We were told by Jeff that they could not do the two paint issues because they dropped the price so much for us.Also, the promotion was to get a free TV when you buy a truck. When asked about that it was the same response,"I don't think that we can do that because we dropped the price too much for you."According to the ad on Trucks Only website regarding the "free TV promotion" it states that it is a "BIG screen TV" given with any purchase. (https://www.youtube.com/watchfeature=player_embedded&v=pbYqj8LSRK) We received a 32in TV a week after our purchase I understand waiting for the loan to fund but I should not have to call about a promo.False advertising?I never knew a 32in TV to be a big screen, maybe compared to the one that they took out of our truck that left a gaping hole in the headliner. After we left with our "new to us" truck that evening, we went to a friend's house. As we were leaving, we noticed that we only had one headlight, no brights and only one small interior light. We were 20 miles out of town and it was the middle of the night with an unfamiliar truck. Not a comforting feeling. On Sunday we tried to replace the bulb in the headlight but could not because it was an HID that is not easy to find.I took it in first thing on Monday morning to Trucks Only. They worked on it and replaced the lights back to factory and replaced bulbs for the interior. As I left, the sensor came on that the lights were not working.I went back and they fixed that issue.Thank you.The only keyless remote that we were given also did not work.I was referred to the Dodge Dealership for that. After 6 and a half hours the lights work, finally. While at the Dodge dealership, they replaced the key but inform me that there is an open recall on this truck.Another 3 hours in a dealership within the first 5 days of ownership.Still no word on our headliner,Jeff said that he was going to call us Sunday, the day after the purchase,to set up an appointment to repair the headliner. We make an appointment for Tues,it will take a day and a half. And we ask for the safety inspection to be completed since it had clearly not been done prior to the sale.We get a call that same day to pick it up.I had previously been told that the safety inspection had not been done or at least not completed on this truck, prior to sale. That must be how none of this stuff was found before the sale.We asked about the oil being changed and fluids being checked as part of this so called inspection that they speak so highly of on their website."We are the home of the Lifetime Engine Warranty! Our quality vehicles go through a rigorous inspection. Our Lifetime Engine Warranty further backs up our offer to provide Trucks Only customers with the best quality vehicles."(Trucks Only website)The headliner that was to be replaced on September 2nd, was simply just a cover. The hole is still there. The glue that the upholstery shop used does not stick. There are wrinkles in it and it is sagging on almost half of it.This is not a fix to the problem,it has created more.Day 13 of ownership, the oil light says that it is due for an oil change! We have asked about this several times by now.We now have to take our truck in again to have the oil changed because this seems that it was still not done.Apparently, THERE WAS NO INSPECTION DONE STILL.My husband spoke with Dave on September 5th and he told him that their paperwork shows that the oil was changed on August 8th.If this took place, why is it showing to have it changed and how did all of the other stuff get overlooked? We now know that this truck was here for a minimum of 15 days before we bought it.One of the interior lights is not working, again, after the headliner was replaced. read more
