A new place, only opened yesterday. My Chicken Pear Salad had a generous serving of chicken. The rest of the ingredients were very fresh with nicely balanced flavors. C's burger was very tall with all the extras she ordered. Tastey but ordered medium and one side was definitely rare. Gluten free bun ($1 extra) was excellent for GF. We went back when they opened and were greeted with a 45 minute wait so we went over to Robertos (can never go wrong there). After waiting a few months we came back. I don't know why, but the entrance feels weird, like its cluttered or just too confined. If you sit near the entrance which we did you stare at a TV but the blank wall doesn't do much for the ambiance. The rest of the place looks different and nicer than the front entrance... there is beautiful tile in the rest of the restaurant yet from where I was sitting just looking at a TV and below it was a ton of space and a blank wall with basic looking paint. Possibly a tad boring and uninspiring from that vantage point. Perhaps next time we'll sit somewhere else. On to the food. We had burgers with lettuce wraps, a Moscow Mule that was served in a glass (kinda weird instead of the tin cups they usually serve) and a draft beer. The food came out within maybe 8-10 minutes, really fast and was quite good. I think the price of Sweet Potato Fries was a little high but felt the rest was decent. My last comment is that they tout antibiotic and hormone free meat and then they serve it with Ketchup on the table that has high fructose corn syrup. Shame. There are a lot of Ketchup's out there without HFCS. In all, Good place for Happy Hour and hope they continue to do well. We would try and get the same server again as she was great. read more

Fries were cold and no one passed our table for so long that we sat with a spilled water for minutes before I just got up and got napkins. 3 separate ketchups were empty and this wasn't an understaffed issue. "Great staff and great food", I went with my brother and his wife for dinner. The staff were professional and courteous to a fault. I had the California burger and it was "AWESOME! The burger tasted great and was cooked exactly as I asked it to be. I also had the onion rings and they were "light and fluffy" with not a hint of being greasy. My brother had the American burger with the same quality with sweet potato fries. His wife had the bistro burger with the same satisfaction with her food and exactly cook as ordered. Wow, I love Tru Burger! They have amazing food! When we first moved here in 2016, we heard mixed reviews about it, but decided to try for ourselves. I'm glad we tried it because it quickly became one of our favorite places to eat. Even during the COVID-19 stay at home order, we ordered carry out several times. These people know how to cook good, fresh, food! I usually order the lettuce wrapped american burger, add jalapenos....always amazing! My kids love their sliders, fries and fried pickles with ranch. First thing we noticed was the floor was very greasy and slippery as we walked to our seats. Server was fast with beverages and refills. Sweet potato fries were soggy and bland. Burger was overcooked and the bun was super thick. My date got the steak and he said "it's not anything to write home about". We had to ask for silverware and they didn't give a knife with the steak! Sat down on a Sunday afternoon to have lunch with my boyfriend. We both just moved from IL to AZ and haven't gotten the chance to get new license yet since we just moved. Asked our server for a sangria. She checked my ID and said okay. Few minutes later, a man comes up to our table saying there was a mix up and that he would be our server instead and asked what we wanted to drink. We said water and sangria for me. He looked at my ID for about 3 seconds and said "yeah, no sorry. I can't serve you. This is a fake ID". I reassure him its not fake and he keeps saying that it is and has to refuse to sell me any alcohol. He doesn't give us a reason why he thinks it's fake. After getting frustrated, we get up and say "no thank you, we will take our service elsewhere". Several minutes go by and we decide to go back in and ask the manager himself why this would be perceived as fake. He tells us that the first waitress felt uncomfortable taking our order after looking at my ID so they brought another waiter in, who then declined my ID. The manager was nice and said that due to many under age people coming and trying to use fake IDs, they have the right to refuse anyone. He said he didn't have a scanner to check IDs to see if they were legit. He also went on to say that if it came down to it when we were first in here, they would have confiscated my ID (which would've caused big problem since my license is real). We shook his hand and walked out, not giving them our service. I'm glad the manager was nice about it but it's really frustrating when you've just moved here and haven't had the chance to get new identification yet and being turned down (I haven't been turned down other times in Arizona). Suggestion: get a scanner to test IDs. Most cases if someone has a fake, they would not want to put it through the scanner. But for people who have legit identification, it's a real pain to be turned down for a $4 drink.. read more

We tried Tru Burger Co. yesterday and while I can't say it ranks up there with the better burgers we have had, it was still decent and not a wasted visit. We chose to sit on the patio; as the weather was great. We waited for about 10 minutes to be seated. Not because they were busy and had to find us a table, but due to nobody being at the host/hostess desk to greet us. After patiently waiting for a bit, we finally were able to get the attention of a server, who approached us and apologized... stating "I am sorry... I have no idea where our hostess is??" Within two minutes, we were seated. Again... a wait for our server. Not sure if they forgot to tell our server she had a table arrive, but whatever. She was nice and seemed to care about our table. For our meals, I had the Tru Salmon Burger and my wife had the Whiskey BBQ Burger. The salmon was good. The salmon patty was made using ground salmon with capers, panko crumbs, parsley and lemon pepper seasoning. It made for a good flavor. The Wiskey BBQ Burger came with bacon, cheese, sauce and onion rings on top. The onion rings were undercooked, so they were pretty doughy-soggy and the burger had very little flavor. We ordered the Garlic Parm fries as our side. Typical frozen fries, with a garlic parmesan sauce mixed into the fries. The prices were a little high, compared to many of the other burger restaurants we frequent in Phoenix. The total came to $48 for our meals to include sodas and tip. Just came back from thru burger on Daisy mountain, ordered the American burger that came out with the bacon burned to blackness and the onion rings I ordered on the side were under cooked and greasy as though they had sat in the oil for sometime. When I asked for the manager Natalie said I guess I'm the manager for tonite what can I do for you and after explaining the situation I was told sorry I will pass it on to the kitchen not exactly what I call an appropriate response. Since we are paying a premium price for food I expected a much better response than that! When they brought out the take out order for my son they brought out a side of bacon which at that point made no sense since we were done and ready to go. They did discount the onion rings and fries why they discounted instead of taking them off the bill entirely made no sense since we could not eat them. I will say that our server was very good I did tip her well for the service, used to be a favorite spot but all in all if you want a burger that is over priced and not what you expect eat here but if not stay as far away as possible. Will not get my business again.....disappointing. If I could give less than 1 star I would!!! read more

I would have given 5 stars - Mediterranean burger was great, Matt's cocktails are awesome , atmosphere in bar area is lots of fun - but the blower above the garage door separating the bar from outside was obnoxiously strong. We asked Matt to please lessen it or turn it off and he said he does not have permission to do so. Apparently TruBurgers owner wants this blower on whenever the garage door is open. We love sitting outside and thought it would be fun to eat sitting outside the bar area. But we will not sit anywhere near this blower in the future. read more
