Friday Fish Fry Board; as they sell out, they erase items
    Regina M.

I think they have a fish fry on Fridays for the duration of catholic lent. I got the fish sandwich with a side of cocktail sauce and a side of tartar sauce with haluski and coleslaw. It was all so delicious. The bun was fresh and soft. They offer stewed tomatoes as a side as well, they were so good but I can't say I've ever tried them alone until last weekend. They even have coke and Pepsi products! That's so rare. This is the perfect little neighborhood gem, but get there ASAP. They close up at 7pm on Fridays!

Awesome again. Very cute place. A little girl was having a birthday breakfast and everyone sang to her. Chocolate chip waffles were delish. The food came quick and the waitress came around several times to check for coffee refills.

On a scale of cotton candy to Brussels sprouts, Trolley Barn Eatery reminds me of a small town romance novel. This eatery feels like it's smack dab in a small town though it's located in a Pittsburgh suburb. Orders are taken at the register in the back, and a waitress will seat you (it was packed on a Sunday morning). If you order coffee, tea, or water, you will need to serve yourself from the coffee maker by the register as well as grab your napkins and utensils. There's a certain charm about the eatery, but if you're concerned about COVID, I'd recommend ordering takeout since it's a small restaurant with a loyal crowd. The meal was delicious, and looking at the photos make me want it again!

This is our second visit to the trolley barn. I had the Italian omelet. All I can say is the Italian sausage- delicious!! It was so tender, and the tomato sauce was scrumptious! The staff was delightful. So friendly and interested in everyone who came in. She thanked me for being the only person in Pittsburgh who pronounced gyro correctly. :) We will keep coming back.

Solid inexpensive breakfast in Castle Shannon, PA. Very efficient friendly staff. Restaurant filled with many regulars so felt like a family atmosphere. Enjoyed our egg breakfast with great coffee-loved how fellow patrons offered to fill your coffee! Great place to bring your family. Will definitely return!

    Break (2 eggs, meat, toast)

A nice little diner with quality food. You order at the counter and then take a seat at a table. I got the break, which is 2 eggs, meat, and toast. The over-easy eggs, crispy bacon, and buttered white toast were all good. My partner enjoyed a sausage breakfast sandwich on a croissant. The grilled pecan roll though... YUM. Wow that was good. Next time we'll definitely order a whole roll instead of just 2 slices.

Classic diner fare - good quality food, nice portions, salt-of-the-earth friendly staff and owner. No frills, an overall great experience.

It was a typical retro-vintage stop inside, and I was forewarned by the veteran waitress they were open only for the next half-hour. I reassured her I was not planning to stay long. It must've been the end of a long shift for her because she was grumbling to the busboy about the other waitress who decided to leave early. This other woman, clearly the 'Kiss Mah Grits' type, alienated me by calling me Mr. Miyagi and cackling about it to the rest of the staff. I thought I might be expected to recite lines from "The Karate Kid". Instead I ordered the $11.25 Grilled Meatloaf Melt, which came with quite a slice covered in fried onions and melted Swiss cheese barely held together by the toasted rye bread. It was on the greasy side, and the fries were dried out (Photo 10). What would Mr. Miyagi say? I had mentioned a nearby diner to a fan I met at the game the night before and he scoffed at me and told me all about DeLuca's. He was passionate about the hot sausage and the griddle toasted Italian bread and I knew we would give it a shot! Turns out, he was absolutely right! DeLuca's is exactly what I'm looking for in a diner! Old school place, seating was comfortable, and our waitress made us feel right at home! I went with the Steel City and that included everything! Pancakes (which our lovely waitress added complimentary bananas to), hot sausage, bacon, home fries, eggs, and Italian bread toast. Everything was cooked perfectly! Hot sausage and eggs made a perfect sandwich on that bread! My wife had a delicious omelette. Such a wonderful send off from Pittsburgh!

From the second we walked in, the atmosphere was so charming and nostalgic, right down to the unbelievably reasonable prices. It's the kind of spot that instantly makes you feel comfortable and keeps you entertained the entire time you're there. We sat at the bar and were greeted right away with coffee and water while we looked over the menu. One of the coolest parts was being able to watch the food being prepared right in front of us - the entire vibe of the room felt lively, authentic, and honestly hilarious at times. Between the conversations, the energy behind the counter, and the overall ambiance, it genuinely felt like dinner and a comedy show wrapped into one. We ordered the vegetable omelet and the pancake special, and both came out piping hot and absolutely delicious. Everything tasted homemade, fresh, and comforting in the way classic breakfast spots should. You can tell this place has character, heart, and a loyal following for a reason. This is truly one of those spots that deserves way more attention and is 100% worth stopping into if you're in the area. And if you're a fan of Mayor of Kingstown, you definitely need to check this place out!
