Better late than never. While I realize the doors are closing I figure I'll write a brief review. I ordered their vegan cheesesteak via Uber Eats and, although I appreciate the effort to provide this option, the outcome was not satisfactory. To start, the bread was like eating a sponge and for me the bread makes or breaks a sandwich. The filling was greasy and lacked substance. Even after adding my own fresh toppings in an attempt to enhance their efforts, I remained unimpressed. read more

Wow! This spot really came through in the clutch and everything was delicious!! I was in the city for an event, which had two vegan options..white rice and bread (ha, ha), so I was famished, to say the least. Trilly's to the rescue. I ordered the vegan Philly cheesesteak (no peppers; add mushrooms) and it was FIRE. I didn't know what to expect, since I'd never had a vegan cheesesteak before but, let me tell you, I'm hooked. I also order the fries, which were really good.. well seasoned, crinkle cut. The vegan chocolate chip cookie was sooo good. I ordered via Uber Eats, so I haven't been to the establishment, in person but trust me, I will. Overall, I was very pleased with my purchase. I'll be checking them out again soon. read more

This is some very good Philly cheesesteak. Heard about this place through a friend and had to check it out. I went with the steak philly with cheese whiz to keep it traditional. It did not disappoint. I had also ordered a side the cauliflower wings. (Which were delicious and crispy. The sauce is was also really good.) My intention was to eat half a sandwich and my side and have half a sandwich for leftovers the next day. Sandwich was just too good. Ate the whole thing and ruined my plans. Also got to steal a few pickle fries I'd also recommend them. My only knock would be the food took a good while. It was a Friday night prime time and it's a fairly small place so don't know that they could do anything about it. Just heads up this place is busy because it's good so order a bit ahead if you're hungry. read more

Our first trip to Trilly's left a lot to be desired. We ordered 2 regular cheesesteaks, the pickle fries and the cauliflower wings to pickup and were told it would be ready in 20 minutes. We arrived there 20 minutes after we ordered and ended up waiting an additional 30 minutes before our food was ready. Our sides were ice cold but our cheesesteaks were good. 50 minutes for that order was absurd, but I was somehow convinced to give them another shot. This time I got the Philly cheesesteak with provolone and added jalapeños and we split some fries with cheese whiz. I guess going midday on a Saturday helped because our food was ready in about 30 minutes. The cheesesteak was stuffed with a good amount of meat, cheese and peppers and the bread was nice and soft. The fries were okay but I wish I had gotten the pickle fries to try them when they were actually hot. Make sure you have extra time and aren't in a hurry because this is not a quick restaurant and your order probably will not be ready on time (several customers coming in for pickup orders came in and had to wait a while when we were dining in this last time). read more

We had a great first-time experience here! It's always nice finding places that offer vegan options for me as well as food that my husband can enjoy. I've never had a vegan philly before so this was super cool to be able to have a philly for the first time in a while and it was DELICIOUS! We are from out of town though so we won't be frequenting, but wish we could! I will say that it was nice to get out of the tourist attraction areas and try something different. So if you're coming in from out of town and are thinking about coming here but aren't sure if it's worth it, IT IS! read more

Excited to find vegan seitan cheese steaks in New Orleans. Unassuming joint tucked in a side street with indoor seating and a huge back patio. Seitan was delicious, portion was huge. Cheez sauce was nutritional yeast-y which I dig. Krinkle cut fries are a nice choice and we enjoyed them. They had vegan cookies but I didn't get one. read more

I visited there for the first time today during the lunch hour. We found off street parking. I was very excited to try the Philly Cheesesteak but I ended up not enjoying it as much as I had hoped. They really didn't have the flavor that I'm used to. The staff person who took my order and brought out my food was kind which I appreciated. There were some tables inside and we opted to eat inside. It did take a while for us to recover our food after we placed the order. read more

Trilly ain't in Philly but it should be. Smacked on a Chicken steak with provolone and some fries. My copilot had the vegan fingers and fries. It's the bread for me... but the taste of the chicken!!!!! Yes lawd! If I were to go again it would be during the day. The neighborhood felt a lil seedy but the food made up for it. The food was 4.5/5. Fried pickle fries were soo good. The cheesy fries also really good. We got two different sandwich. The orginal Philly was really good and even added jalapeños. The far west was really good but a little bit to salty. Staff was friendly and nice. Would come back/recommend. read more

At the beginning of the pandemic, Trillys closed but then they opened up for takeout. You can either call to place your order or order online; when I called they were quick to answer, and they said it would be ready at a certain time (sans thing when i ordered online). In both, they ask you to call them when you show up outside and they will bring the food out to you. I showed up a bit early, called to let them know i was outside, and the time they promised the food was delivered to my car as usual - the food was good and the portions big. i got the vegan bbq chicken philly, vegan cheese fries, a regular philly and vegan fish and chips. All the food items were tasty, large portion size and good flavors overall a great meal and a great place to get vegan and regular philly cheesesteaks read more

Cheesesteaks in NOLA have been few and far between and most have been subpar. Finally found a cheesesteak in NOLA worth getting. The steak is excellent, cut thin with no gristle. The bread is the legit Amarosa bread from Philly. The topper here is the great blue cheese aioli to put on top omg is that good. Best cheesesteak by far in NOLA. read more

I really like this place. I only had the vegan philly, but it was delicious. It was the chicken vegan far east. Amazing! I definitely recommend trying it. It had a crunch from the crispy onion. I added cherry peppers for a spice component. They have really good fries. Everything is al la Carte, though. It's pricey but the sandwiches are huge. The bread is also perfect for these. My husband and kids got the Philly cheesteak and inhaled it. They said they really liked it too. They kept it pretty traditional with the onions and peppers with provolone cheese. The location in interesting and parking is not really good around there. You have to try and get lucky with a spot in front. And watch for the one ways. It is handicapped accessible with a ramp entrance, but the door is not automated, but you'll be fine if you can prop the door open. I've already gone back again just for my vegan sandwich, and I live in Slidell! read more

Not gonna lie, I was skeptical to get a Philly Cheesesteak outside of Philly since I've had an authentic Philly Cheesesteak in Philadelphia. And since then I've been wanting another one. Trilly Cheesesteak was pretty good. (Even a friend from Philly said the pic I sent looked good) I went for the basic Philly steak with onions and peppers. And added a order of fries. (They also have vegan options) There was a lil wait ofcourse for the meat to be cooked but Everything came out fresh and hot including the fries (I hate warm fries). Those where the best fries I've ever tasted foreal! They were crispy crinkle cut and hot. The cheesesteak wasn't bad either, it was kinda salty and a lot more cheese than I really wanted. (Authentically they don't come with melted cheese like that or w/ cheese whiz) "Ofcourse I added mustard & ketchup" like they do in Philly. read more

After being at work and my hunger creeping up faster than a lion to a gazelle on animal planet, I searched for something to eat that wouldn't take more than a couple of minutes to get to. And I stumbled upon Trilly Cheesesteaks. Now I just say, usually when I don't see a price on an online menu I assume it's kind of expensive, luckily that wasn't necessarily the case. I ordered the Philly sandwich and pickle fries, which were the stars of the show. They were pretty good, especially with the ranch, so maybe the ranch was the star, but combined they were great. The Philly was ok. It had great moisture and amount of everything, the only thing I was missing was more flavor. Just a dash of salt, pepper, and garlic would have probably done the trick. But overall a good meal. The only downfall is that there weren't any combos or like a way to make a sandwich a combo for a better buy. read more

This place really knows what they're doing when it comes to Philly cheesesteak my Philly cheese they came hot fresh and delicious. The fries were flavor. Get the chili sauce a complement of fries perfectly everything is so fresh. The vibe is super amazing and the service is amazing. I definitely recommend coming back here when I'm back in town New Orleans for the Philly steaks. No I did not take any photos this time because I ate all the food quickly, and my husband was eating it quicker than me. read more

Awesome Vegan Cheesesteak! Ordered the vegan BBQ chick'n via DD and per another yelpers recommendation, I added the crispy onions (great tip!). It was pretty amazing. Even if you are not usually a fan of seitan like me, you will probably like this. The bread and everything came together perfectly and it was a hefty portion. Also, the buffalo cauliflower and fries were quite tasty as well. Perfect seasoning on the crinkle cut fries. The cauliflower's buffalo sauce was a bit too "buttery" but it's still decent and it's served on the side so you can add at will. Very good vegan chocolate chip cookie. Definitely will order again when I visit NOLA. read more

Instantly loved the look of this place! The art, the music, and the vibe was great! Went up to the counter to place my order and the cashier was immediately very very helpful. I was going to get the Philly cheesesteaks but she advised that the buffalo chicken was very similar but with more ingredients and sauces and I am a sauce fanatic, so I went with her recommendation. Vegan cheese fries - fries are normal and the cheese sauce more qualifies as a dip. Bonus points for not skimping on the sauce. It's thick and heavy not like a non-vegan sauce. Vegan fish 'n chips - they're more like jackfruit nuggets than fish. It has that tangy sour (most likely from being canned). I'm not 100% sure that is what is used but if I had to bet. I think this would best be a "Buffalo jackfruit nugget". The tartar sauce was pretty good though. Vegan philly w/ mushrooms - the one upfront. The philly comes with a cheese sauce, sautéed onions, and sautéed green bell peppers. I added mushrooms because I love shrooms. This philly was so good and was very reminiscent of a non-vegan one. I know I'm going to be craving for this philly. Philly - my sister got the regular philly with no add ons and she said it was really good too. read more

I normally receive amazing service and great food here. I used to love coming here as the vegan options are bomb!!! Yesterday I was horrified at the lack of customer service I received! I approached the counter and the girl behind the register did not great me. Didn't say a word. She just stared at me like I was really putting her out being there. The only time she said anything was when I said I wanted a water. She asked if I wanted bottled water. I said no and she just pointed to the self serve water. No "thank you" or anything nice. When she brought the food to my table, not a word. She was cold as ice. Needless to say, I won't be coming back here anytime soon. read more

This place is super rare and AMAZING to say the least! I love that they've transformed the typical Philly cheesesteak into a vegan treat! They utilize seitan and daiya to replace the meat and cheese and you literally can't tell the difference. The vibe of the restaurant is hipster mixed with hip hop. The music is always great and the service is quick! I love that it's small and hidden so you must know where you are going to find it. They also offer vegan desserts and cauliflower wings. If you're not a vegan they also have the regular options as well. Overall great spot and they stay open pretty late! read more

Just found out about Trilly's and their awesome vegan cheesesteaks so had to go. It's nice to see a place offering vegan options of their regular menu rather than having completely different choices. The seitan is sliced thin and very flavorful. Amoroso's rolls are great of course and really make the sandwiches special. The fries were crispy and delicious. They also offer an ice cream dessert that can be ordered vegan or not. The service isn't super fast so don't stop in when you're in a hurry but it's worth the wait if you have the time. read more

This place is a little gem in a city dominated by seafood and cajun cuisine. I love that everything on the menu had a vegan/vegetarian counterpart for each item, not just one "afterthought" item. I was so happy to stumble upon this restaurant during my last trip to New Orleans. I ordered the vegan cheesesteak with provolone cheese. It was hot, delicious, and made to order. It came out quickly and it was difficult not to inhale it all at once. I wish I had a Trilly back home I could eat at all the time! read more

I hate to give a place a bad review but truly this was the worst Philly Cheesesteak. It was super salty, like I can't take more than one bite salty and the French Fries tasted off with a really bad aftertaste, as if they had been fried in dirty oil. On the positive, the server was super nice and the patio was beautiful. We discreetly threw our food in the trash can on the deck and took our disappointed selves back to our hostel. Wow, I went here the other day and tried the cauli wings with Trilly sauce, the cheese fries, and the vegan chicken philly. All I can say is wow. The wings were great and tasted like fried chicken and the sauce was good, the cheese fries were interesting as the cheese was liquid, but the flavor was on point, thick, creamy and amazing! Loved it, but my absolute favorite was the vegan chicken philly with thinly sliced seitan chicken which was great, with grilled peppers and onions and some vegan cheese sauce, same sauce used on the fries, which gave the sandwich it's delicious heavy flavor! Prices are reasonable, it's usually not too busy during the day, and food is amazing! I love how the menu has a vegan and non vegan version of everything on it! Will be back! 10/10 read more

Um yum!!! Went here for lunch with my friend. We loved the menu choices, it even took us some time to figure out which one we wanted to try. I noticed a lot of the Yelp reviews were for the vegan options, well this one is for the steak and chicken. I went with the Philly cheesesteak and it was just what I wanted. Thinly sliced steak that was not chewy or stringy, tons of melty cheese. My friend got the buffalo chicken, the chicken was pulled but not dry and really yummy. The garlicky sauce was also really good but we both though it didn't taste like what we were expecting when we though of buffalo chicken. We shared an order of fries, they were really good, and the portion was very large. The sandwiches were also really large servings, we each saved half for lunch the next day. The ambiance inside was fine, it feels sort of like a dive bar as it shares its building with the bar next door. It was cool because the kitchen also opened into the bar so you could order food there too. We both agreed we would be back to try more. I am drooling just writing this review. Having every option available as vegan as well as meaty is incredible to me. I've tried the BBQ and Buffalo and can't say a single bad thing or recommend them any higher. I am dying to try the Far East, and I reckon I'll be doing that...oh if not tonight, sometime this week. My omnivore friends have enjoyed their BBQ, Buffalo, and Original cheesesteaks as well (but who cares, cos...vegan). The pickle fries are legit (but eat them all as they don't keep). They have vegan ranch and mayo if you request it and they have vegan dessert which is delectable. Bring your meat-eating friends here so no one has to compromise on their meal. Their service is fast and friendly, and the sandwiches are large so either they're two meals or one very big meal. Either way works for me. And they're cheap for big portions, unpretentious, and accommodating. Want a drink? Head to the bar next door, grab yourself a drink, and wait for your order to be called. It's a typical Quarter restaurant with its long gallery seating. We were seated right away. The menu appeared to be heavily vegetarian which was great for my two friends. Many will understand the limited menu options for vegetarians at most places. Wes ordered Tom Kai, Becky the Massaman Jackfruit option and I the one with short rib. It was delicious. It was warm and comforting, full of flavor and the chef made it less spicy for me. What a delight to choose a menu option that I have never had and restaurant that I have never been to. You believe that I'll return for certain. Especially for that gorgeous Mai Tai!

Though pop-up showers were still lingering, my husband and I decided to take a gamble on courtyard dining--and I am so glad we did! Sheltered under the green umbrellas surrounded by historic brick walls, lush greenery, and rain-kissed citrus trees, the atmosphere was incredibly romantic and peaceful. The courtyard's intimate layout even brought a bit of extra magic to our evening. We sat near another wonderful couple (and their adorable daughter) and became fast friends, sharing laughs and conversation throughout the night. What truly anchored the experience, though, was the incredible service. The staff was remarkably personable, helpful, and welcoming. The dinner itself was excellent from start to finish, showcasing immense culinary skill across every dish. We started with the delicious brussels sprouts and a uniquely seasoned spring/summer gumbo that was unlike any version we've had before (oh, what I would give for the recipe). As for the entrées, the shrimp and grits were phenomenal, and the blackened catfish sandwich with a fresh salad was executed flawlessly...and the bread pudding was fantastic, too! It is rare to find an experience where top-tier hospitality, a breathtaking environment, and great food come together so (seemingly) effortlessly. Café Amélie is an absolute must-visit! The salmon was crispy on the outside with a nice sauce over it. We thought we'd have time to get dessert so we ordered a couple but that too took a very long time. We finally waved down our server to cancel and get the check since we had to be somewhere and he apologized and said their WiFi was going in and out so it could be that it was registering on the kitchen side. That may have explained why our entrees took too long. If it wasn't for the service and the food being great - I would not be thrilled about timing. We got there around 5:30p and had to leave by 7:15p so an almost 2 hours experience that probably could have been 1 hour.

Exceptional--a small amount, it may have even been a starter but regardless was perfect for me. The sandwiches other diners had on their plates were large and looked delicious just glancing around at other tables. Everything comes up fast and the atmosphere is . . . just ideally New Orleans. It feels all the way "working CBD lunch" yet unhurried, a reflection of Cochon's greatness but scaled down and with utterly no pretense. There's simply a real sense of both care and expertise in everything done here no matter how simple or complex. Beyond all else, they're doing what they love here with no scaling back or dressing up to make it anything else. A winner through and through.
