I always say I don't like Indian food when people suggest Indian cuisine however turns out I'm a liar because everything I had at Lufu was delicious! The wall murals are all very intricate and beautiful. I like that you can see into the kitchen from the dining room. I had the jackfruit biryani, shrimp curry, bhindi masala and garlic naan. EVERYTHING was great! We went for lunch and there was only one server but he managed to attend to every one's needs! The lunch menu is limited so I would like to go back for dinner and try other dishes only available at dinner.

Honestly I can't even begin to tell y'all how much I love LUFU (both the CBD and French Quarter locations). The owners are fantastic, the food is incredible, and the servers are incredibly pleasant. They are now Michelin Bib Gourmand and SO so deserving. The flavors are bold and the execution is wonderful. The last time I went (to the FQ location, which doesn't have a Yelp page), I got the following: Puchka (semolina water bombs) Daal Wada (lentil fritters with tomato chutney) Tandoori Chicken Wings and Tandoori Salmon Chettinad Chicken (chicken, coconut, curry) Saag Paneer (paneer cheese, spinach) Navaratan Korma (mixed veggies) Gulab Jamun Cheesecake Everything was a 10/10. Lufu FQ is yet another location hidden by the construction happening on Decatur Street. Don't let the construction fool you - they are very much open and ready to feed you!

We wanted to try some Indian food while we visited New Orleans and saw many good things about Lufu Nola so had to try it! We came on Christmas Day and the place was packed! The dishes were all very tasty and they had a good variety of food. Glad we got to support an Indian business during our travel!

First time here! We were craving Indian food and this place came highly recommended. Food was excellent. Ordered the chicken biryani and angara chicken as well as sabudana vada. The biryani was such a treat-- beautiful presentation, perfectly seasoned dish! Love the variety of options on the menu. Quality food and excellent flavor all around! Also got a couple cocktails--mango mojito was a standout. Service was great for a busy weekend evening. Staff attentive and courteous. Beautiful interior, bright & spacious. Can't wait for our next meal here!

While visiting NOLA, my partner and I came to Lufu and really enjoyed our time there! We made a reservation and were seated right away. It was quite busy but service was still on point. Staff was kind and attentive. We wanted to start with a mango lassi but unfortunately they were out. Started with a fried cauliflower that was delicious and fresh. Very good portion. For entree went with a tandoori paneer with extra rice and garlic naan. The paneer was so fresh and delicious, as was the naan. To end we went with a mango kulfi, which was like a mango popsicle. So good! The decor is fun and it's a nice vibe inside Lufu. Fresh food, good portion, and great prices. Would definitely return!

Came here for lunch and while it was late lunch, it was AMAZING. We met the chef as well. The drinks were outstanding, both the cocktails and the mocktails. - I tried the Desi girl spritz, so amazing.. its a must try. The food was outstanding for NoLA indian food scenes. The peri peri wings are definetly outstanding, amongst the other dishes. The ambience is Perfect!! Its a def place to vist with family and friends.

Nice change up from Southern fare. Space was fun and lovely, but a bit cramped. Service was efficient but a bit rushed, and they were out of several of the beers on the menu. Re food, the starters we ordered (chicken pagoda, peri-peri gobi) were quite good, but some of the main dishes (goan shrimp curry and palak paneer) were just boring--lacking flavor. The standout was angara chicken, which was tangy and delicious. Rice good and fluffy, naans fine but nothing special. All in all, I was a bit underwhelmed by the experience.

First of all LUFU is absolutely outstanding! Truly. Each time I've been there we have started with cocktails, which they have very cunningly named. AND they're so tasty. Each time I have been it has been quite amazing. The art and vibe are noice and v v cute. I wouldn't say you have to "dress up" but def a classier casual wear at least. They have a beautiful mural on the wall too. Bathrooms: spot on. No complaints.

Absolutely amazing Indian food!! Everything was so good and service was amazing. Our server was Atharva; he was great and made amazing recommendations! I highly recommend the Dahi kebab; super unique and delicious! Also loved the paneer tikka and crispy noodles! Highly recommend stopping by!

Really nice ambiance soon as you walk in. The staff was very nice and helpful. Our waitress was very thorough with the menu and assisted with any question we had. The Pani Poori was a unique experience and i recommend everyone trying it at least once. The garlic naan was fresh and good by itself or with your meal. Perfect date night vibes. I would love to go back and try the lunch menu next!

What a pleasant experience! We arrived to Lufu as soon as they opened for dinner service and we were seated as soon as we went inside. The decor is gorgeous, the lighting is moody, the artwork and murals were eye catching for sure. We ordered the pani poori to start and then I ordered the shrimp curry with a side of the pickled mango and garlic naan. It was absolutely delicious! Very robust and flavorful. Our server was so attentive and pleasant. She checked in on us frequently and made sure our food was delivered promptly.

For a change of pace I wanted to try some Indian Food and I'd heard great things about this place. The restaurant's interior was gorgeous, all of the colors and textures were well thought out. I really appreciate that there is a window to the kitchen. The staff were also very welcoming. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Garlic Naan. It was served in the clay pot piping hot and delicious. That Naan was so good that I could eat it everyday. I wanted to go back later for a cocktail but didn't make it back. The next time I'm in New Orleans I'll stop in again.

The cocktails were amazing...especially the one with Tamarind! This place is a heaven for vegetarians who don't really have many options in Nola unfortunately! Highly recommend if you are a vegetarian and love Indian food

The presentation of the food came was amazing. We ordered the linguine and added meatballs, which was well worth it. We also ordered the shrimp & grits, which included Brussels sprouts. Boy, it was sure nice to get some vegetables in my stomach after eating all that yummy fried food during our stay! All in all, both dishes were delicious. It is a little on the pricey side, but after several days of eating in the touristy area of the French Quarter, this was truly a welcome change. Service was polite and attentive. I always appreciate the staff's efforts by making simply making eye contact and smiling (which they did). Seems trivial but I think those small things says a lot about a business. I would recommend this restaurant even if you are not a guest of the hotel.

The ambiance is amazing, plus velvet, emerald and sapphire tone, glitzy, and feels like a good photo op. The bar and cocktail menu looked expansive. However, I was going to be hopping on a meeting, so I could not partake, unfortunately. A group got this impressive tower of espresso martini and everyone seemed to be enjoying their drinks! I wanted that New Orleans seafood but had late lunch, so I opted for just the crispy gulf shrimp on cheesy grits. I really wished I can hungrier because the dish ended up being very heavy. The shrimp were nice and crispy. The charred Brussels sprouts gave me the false sense that this was a healthy dish because I was getting my veggie intake. The bacon jam was sweet and went well with the Brussels sprouts. I loved the combination of the cheesy grits and the Crystal hot sauce. It was the perfect amount of both and some how led me to understand why Americans put hot sauce on their Mac n cheese and some other cheesy dishes after 30 years of not really understanding the attraction to that combo. I got the marinated olives to go so I could have a little snack later. They were just stuff I feel I could get in a jar... not really sure if I could justify the price. I think this is a fine place if you're looking for a photogenic night out drinking with a group of friends. Could be really cute for brunch!

Words simply cannot express how much I continue to be blown away by the exquisite quality of food,…read morebeverage, service, and uncommon hospitality demonstrated and perfectly executed by this New Orleans establishment. My wife and I visited on our first NoLa trip together about 4 years ago and make it a point to go every time now. Our first time we stopped in for lunch at the bar and had an excellent experience, and decided to return. We came back on the next trip just to grab a drink and a snack before heading down for dinner in the Bywater. The bartender (Chris) gave a bunch of recommendations for places to visit that way, all of which we have done in the past few trips and have loved. But it's this past trip where we were truly blown away. We were in town for JazzFest and after walking back to the French Quarter, we were thinking about food options and decided to take a gamble to see if we could get a seat at the bar or maybe grab a drink for the road before getting food somewhere else. The bar was full when we got there around 8/8:15, but they had a no show and could serve us, as long as we ordered quickly and were ok with the check hitting the table right at 9PM. Given our slightly (perhaps generous) inebriated state from being at the festival all day and being slightly underdressed, we felt this was quite a kind accommodation. With the clear expectations of needing to get our orders in quickly, we wasted no time making a decision on our drinks and a few food options. Despite this need for a quick turn around, at no time did we feel rushed. The food and drinks were absolutely perfect, as they always are. But what impressed us most was the staff. At no point did the hostess or wait staff seem annoyed by us, despite us parachuting in from a music festival and looking like sunburn and poor decisions. By managing expectations on the front end, we never felt rushed despite the need for a quick turn around. They were all lovely, professional, and as cordial as if we were regulars with standing reservations once a week. In terms of atmosphere, it is always perfect: lively and fun for a date night, dinner with friends/family, or just a nice drink before a night out and about. I truly cannot begin to explain how much I love this restaurant and every experience I've had there. The awards and accolades this establishment (a sincere and lofty term Jewel of the South truly deserves) have been awarded are beyond well earned. Restaurants around the country should aspire to provide the quality of food, service, and overall hospitality Jewel of the South provides on a regular basis. It will continue to be our first and foremost recommendation to anyone we know who is going to New Orleans. Bravo! We shall return!

We shared 5 small plates - the crawfish bread - crawfish inside a crispy, flaky croissant like bread - OMG deliciousness. Then the tufa crudo - so fresh and flavorful, the crab tartlets - fine, but not as good as the other dishes; excellent salad, and the broccolini in a housemade horseradish goat cheese sauce - wow; one of the best broccolini dishes we have had. The carrots looked amazing, too. What a treat!

While the Sazerac wasn't invented here, this is arguably its most iconic home, a place where New Orleans cocktail history comes to life. I would use this version as your gold standard when dining out in New Orleans and looking for a perfect Sazerac. We enjoyed watching bartender Rachel craft each drink. Rye whiskey, Peychaud's Bitters, and sugar are stirred in a small pitcher with ice. The serving glass is chilled, then emptied, and finished with an absinthe rinse along the rim. The cocktail is strained into the glass and topped with a lemon peel. The atmosphere makes the experience even better.
