Food - 4 Service - 4 Value - 3 We came here for lunch on a brisk cold morning and ordered the Mussels and the Pig&Poultry. Nothing about the food really stood out to us as memorable -- I'd say it was "good but not great". I'd only come back again if somebody really wanted to try it out or really loves eating here. read more

My husband, my mother and I wanted to try some place new for our Friday fish fry and this place did not disappoint!! My husband ordered the standard fish and chips and my Mom has the fried catfish and shrimp. Everything was fresh and prepared well. I had the grilled Texas Striped bass with lemon butter sauce. That was DELICIOUS. read more

We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. This was our first visit but it will not be our last. We always check out the Yelp reviews before we try a new place and, as you see, the reviews are very good. They have a person posted at the front door to welcome you and get you seated. Our server got to our table right away and got us acquainted with the menu. My wife and I decided we would share an order of the shrimp tacos and also the fish and chips. Both were excellent. The place is very clean, the staff are friendly and efficient and the prices are very reasonable. So, for us, they hit all the notes for 5 stars. read more

Very nice. You order at the counter and they bring out your food and it's relatively quick. I was in and out of there in 25 minutes. I went with the shrimp platter as was very pleased. There were plenty of shrimp and they were cooked perfectly and sprinkled over the top of nicely seasoned skinny fries. A delicate batter made them lightly crunchy. Good versions of cocktail and remoulade sauce came on the side. I sat at the bar and while I didn't imbibe, they had some pretty neato/unique adult beverages. This would be a great spot for a happy hour! read more

These dishes were tasty! The bacon jam on the fish sandwich took it to the next level. Not a fan of coleslaw but it worked for sure although I would have like to had a little less to taste more of the crispy fish! The pig and poultry was super tasty as well with the spicy mayo stealing the show. I vote pig and poultry over the fish sandwich. The margarita was refreshing not too sweet and did the trick after two. Definitely will return for happy hour menu and to try the crawfish étouffée! read more

Visiting from out of town, came by for lunch. I wish, after the fact, I had been more adventurous in my menu selections but went with fish&chips and cup of gumbo. Were I to return, I'd chow down on the gumbo. Fish battering was unique in my experience (that's not code for anything negative) with overtones of perhaps mace -- I enjoyed trying to work it out but didn't get there. A good puzzle for a foodie. Price point was good but service was excellent. I went from four to five stars based on service. My waiter was friendly and attentive but not intrusive or "over the top". In fact, upon reflection, service was darn near Best Practice-- something rapidly fading in our post COVID world. Management may have a business differentiator in their wait-staff. Recommended. read more

The restaurant is clean, service is excellent and the food is so fresh and delicious. The oysters, fish n chips and okra fries were so good!

This is our go to spot in city line. There's an awesome bar and the service is impeccable. The food is wonderful as well.

Good food and customer service. Nice scenery.patio worthy.easy parking . Friday and Saturday night's, live band in the center square.

Came here for their brunch and ended up just getting gumbo... for some reason it didn't appeal to me. Even though they have a brunch for 2 special for $25 (two entrees and a monkey bread to share) My friend got the shrimp and grits and I had a bite and was glad I didn't order it. There was an overpowering amount of bbq sauce that was also on their po boy my other friend got.. read more

How can you even put into words how delicious this place is?! It's counter service during the week and full service on the weekends. The ambiance is spot on, and it's a spin off of Razzoos.. what can be better?! I had the oyster BLT and decided it was the most delicious poboy in existence. Our server was good. But, our food took forever to get to our table! I saw the cooks eating and on their phones in the kitchen, so maybe that's why it took so long to cook our food. The actual food itself was definitely nothing to brag about. I ordered their dessert special and was told they didn't make enough. They had run out the day before as well, according to our server. They were also out of to go boxes for my child's leftovers. I will not be returning. read more

The best crawfish étouffée that I have had in a long time that was not scratch made great sandwiches too!

I visited Tricky Fish with a lady friend. The service was very good. I order fish and chips and she ordered the gumbo. Both were very good. My fish was cooked in the same manner that I have had it on my trips to London...very authentic. It wasn't too noisy as some restaurants get very loud. If I am in the area, I'll strongly consider a return visit. read more

Excellent food, and surprisingly fast. I had the Tricky Fish. Everything was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. It was so good I'll have a hard time ordering something else when I come back. And I will definitely be back. They also have a huge variety of craft beer. They read off a list, and I only recognized one. We really enjoy this restaurant. Its located in Richardson and its only a few miles from us. They have a full bar and outdoor seating. The wait staff is usually attentive and friendly. I absolutely love their fried okra. Its different than I have ever had. Its cooked whole not chopped and so flavorful. My husband and I both got hurricanes and they were delicious! We both got the fish and chips and they were so yummy! The batter that covered them was cooked to perfection. this comes with 2 dips. One is tarter sauce and the other had a kick to it. Both were great! read more

Tricky Fish's ambiance is great and with a fun/laid back kind of vibe. The service is friendly and quick which is a plus. The place was popping on a Friday night, however food came out fast. The mussels were pretty good and broth was flavorful. Sizing was small which was the only down side. Tricky fish was really tasty - all components were seasoned well. However, the temp was a lil warm when it arrived at the table. The fried oyster poboy was yummy! The bacon jam was seriously legit good. Only wished there were more oysters to even out the bread ratio. Overall, a good casual and affordable seafood spot to check out. read more

Try fried okra and catfish. Gravy is the best with dirty rice. I recommend the place.

First trip to TF last weekend and I am glad I tried it. For sure, I am going back to try more of their dishes. Went there on a Sunday around 3 pm. It was not busy which was great. We picked our table and the waiter came immediately to greet us. He was quite friendly and hospitable. I love it when the staff understand what customer service is all about. We ordered the calamari to start and my daughter ordered the fried catfish and shrimp platter and I ordered the fish and chips. The calamari arrived on a timely manner and it was brilliant. Like I mentioned in other reviews, any fried food must taste good without any dipping sauce and the seasoning or marinade must stand on its own without the need for a sauce. The calamari tasted good and I didn't see any reason to dip it in the tartar sauce. The crunch of the calamari was excellent and the accompanied fried peppers and okra were also quite tasteful. I liked the okra and will order it as a side dish next time. The main course came on a timely manner right after we finished our appetizer, and also it was quite tasteful and fresh. My cod was well seasoned and the batter was good. However, it was bit on the thick side and it was slightly greasy. The shrimp and catfish were cooked good, especially the shrimp. Fried shrimp could be tricky and it could go over cocked in a matter of seconds. They did good. The French fries were well seasoned and didn't need any ketchup. Over all, nice clean please with a cool atmosphere. Good customer service with friendly staff. The manager stopped by twice asking us how we liked the food and we felt quite welcomed. For sure the service in this place is outstanding. Will go again. read more

The food is good. Def a 4 stars. But, how the manager made me feel today gets a 1 star. I am employed nearby and order ahead. I don't have much time for a lunch break. Meet my husband there and we dine in. We'll order a drink to leave a tip.. clean up after ourselves.. While eating, the manager comes up to our table and says something like: for future reference, when you order online you need to take the food to go. I don't need this table right now so you can stay here. You ruined our lunch. My lunch date with my husband on a Friday, the end of a long work week. You made me feel unwelcomed and apparently if I order online I am not allowed to eat at your restaurant? So not all paying customers are equal? I didn't order a drink today to leave a tip. I no longer feel Tricky deserves my business. The people at the bar have been sitting here drinking water for as long as I've been here. What's the difference? I've dined in with an online order before we were greeted, welcomed by the server, and even offered a drink. It's a bit worse to me that the manager is the one go made a bad move. I'll be telling my friends. I debated on walking up to you and letting you know that you ruined my lunch and made me feel unwelcomed and uncomfortable- but decided against it because then you'd have the same shitty feeling I do now hanging with you. Let me ask, how it go down if you "needed" this table? Would have said/ you already paid and now you need to leave and go find somewhere else to eat your food? Curious. read more
