I ordered the fish sandwich with fries. The sandwich was delicious and huge. The service was great. I snuck in a couple of beers also. We will return and try something else. The restaurant was nearly empty for a Friday evening.

I am such a fan of Tricky Fish. I can honestly say I love most things on their menu. That changed on this visit. I NEVER paid attention to the fact they sold oysters. So I was excited and expecting them to be delicious. They were so bad and made me sad. I love new experiences, but this one made me want to cry. These oysters were awful and the WORST oysters I have ever seen and eaten. I really should have sent them back. I instantly regretted them once I tasted them. The presentation was off with the dark burnt cheese. They were SO bland and flavorless. Where was the garlic butter???? Smothered in parmesan cheese that was burnt. The saving grace was my side of okra. It was delicious as usual. Well seasoned and tasty. Service was good and waitress was pleasant. Ambiance is always good, with a fun energy and vibe. I love sitting in the big booths. It was clean and comfortable. Overall the experience fell short for me. The oysters are a NO.

First of all I like a new experience. So, I am glad we tried it out. I am going to start with the service. We sat in the bar area at a booth. The bartender has such a sunny and sweet demeanor. I am giving her a 6 out of five. My drink was the painkiller, I am giving that a five out of five. So wherever I go I order fried green tomatoes. Now I am conflicted. The green tomatoes were almost ripe. However, the seasoning, the breading, and the shrimp on top were seasoned to perfection. So altogether I will give a 2.5.I didn't order red fried tomatoes. I had the Haddock and Linguine. I don't have to have it again. The Haddock tasted burnt on the bottom. Now I know it could have been delicious because when I put it in the sauce with capers it tasted much better. I am giving the dish a 2. My partner had the oysters they said they have had better broiled oysters and gave them a 3. However, their main dish they give a 4.5. Total experience is an honest for me 3.8. I will round up and give them a four. Try it for yourself you may like it.

I split a giant 6 count broiled oyster appetizer. The shells were huge. The oysters not so much but broiling them made them smaller. The dinner special that night was a soft shell crab Po Boy sandwich consisting of 2 soft shell and home made cole slaw which was delicious. The romelade sauce was delicious and perfect for the sandwich and for dipping the side of French fries in b

Broiled Oysters (6)

Tricky Fish did not disappoint! We started with broiled oysters that were absolutely delicious, and the shrimp and crab bisque was rich and satisfying. For our mains, we each ordered the fried catfish and shrimp platter, which came with well-seasoned fries and a decent coleslaw. The ingredients were super fresh and everything was well-seasoned in my opinion -- my fiancé felt the catfish could've used a bit more seasoning (he's a big fan of Aunt Irene's heavily seasoned style), but agreed the quality and freshness were on point. For drinks, I went with a refreshing mocktail made with coconut water, guava, and lime, while my fiancé grabbed a coke from the self-serve soda fountain -- a nice, casual touch. From the moment we walked in, the experience was seamless. We were greeted and seated immediately, and our waitress Ashley was friendly, attentive, and great at guiding us through the menu. Food came out quickly and arrived hot and fresh. Would definitely come back -- highly recommend if you're looking for a solid seafood spot!

This is an awesome spot in CityLine. It's a very casual, sit down restaurant and they are really reasonably priced with speedy and kind service. I got the shrimp po boy and my wife got the shrimp tacos, both with fries. They were delicious and only about $30 total. Our table also got some snow crab with coleslaw and hushpuppies. They were really tasty and accompanied by butter and cocktail sauce, but they were pretty spicy and there was no warning. Other than that it was a great evening with a good ambiance, great food/service, and filling for the price, I would easily come back if I'm feeling seafood.

I've been coming here since 2019. Never disappointed. They should add this on the regular menu. It's so good

Wow this place is amazing the food is so fresh and flavorful! I especially loved the slaw with the crab cakes so light with no mayo. The shrimp on top of the fried green tomatoes was new for me and now I want shrimp on my fried green tomatoes every time now. The blackened red fish was cooked to perfection with a delicious étouffée. Service was great too. 10/10 will come again!

I first came here a year ago and wanted to come back this visit as well. I really like this place located in a nice area with plenty of parking. This time I got the soft shell crab poboy without the bun and the batter was light and crispy. I really enjoyed it! I remember liking the fried oysters last year as well but this time it was a bit overcooked. Batter was too crunchy and dry. Slaw was tangy and fries are great. I also recommend the key lime pie. I definitely remember it was last time! A little pricy for the size you get but I love the tartness and tanginess of this pie! Definitely worth a try!!

One of my go to seafood places around. The 'tricky fish' blackened is absolutely phenomenal. Drinks are a bit pricey and ALL of the wine is cooled, even the cabarnets... they need to stop that Management allegedly is the reason for that. Every dish has been awesome though and service is good. Also some of the best hush puppies we've ever had. Bacon wrapped shrimp are amazing. Crawfish etouffe is also fantastic. Ambiance is chill, mostly casual. Will return anytime I'm craving Cajun seafood.

Since I work in the area, I get lunch here from time to time. Today I ordered the gumbo. Noticed this while I was eating. Disappointing. I understand things happen but this really turned my stomach. Not sure if I'll be back for a while.

Catfish Platter, Fries & Coleslaw

Service: terrible and inexcusable. Crawfish boil: dry as hell. Smh Will never return.

The bar is lit in a way that makes you want to stay and chat. The only thing lovelier than the bartenders (that have been the same for years) was the loveliest companion that accompanied me most recently, and held such a wonderful conversation. There is a lot to the atmosphere here, both inside and outside, with the inside feeling like an intimate event, and the patio being a party starter. They often have live acoustic music outside, but it isn't brash or overwhelming. Usually one person and a guitar with a small amp. Nothing crazy. I haven't had pizza in one million years, but if I were going to break the streak it would be here. It's got a real artisan feel and taste that can't be beat. The several times that I have been there or just to the Cinema portion, the Glass Half Full Taproom has been pretty slow. Like not even Half Full kind of busy... They usually don't have many people on staff so if they do get busy, it is going to affect you speed of your service. That can sometimes be detrimental if you are grabbing a beer before catching a movie. Selection is not an issue here. They have 32 beers on tap here, so your biggest issue if you are like me, is just making a decision. My typical go-to; Deep Ellum Dallas Blonde. Ambiance-wise it is a beer room. There is usually kind of a low key vibe to the place. It's a mellow place to grab a mellow brew!

Once seated I immediately noticed the abundance of tables seated and only 2 waitresses. We were sitting for quite a while before a waitress came over to our table. And its not like she was ignoring us, she was literally trying to manage all her assigned tables. When she came over she was kind and apologized for the wait. She was also very transparent on the timing of the kitchen, which we truly appreciated. So we ended up ordering things that wouldn't take long to make; collard green egg rolls and jerk wings. It did take a while to come out but at least we had great live music to listen to while we waited. Once our orders came out, I feel like we inhaled it within 10 mins. Both dishes were good. We were dissappointed that we had to leave, but it was for the best. They were not properly staffed and we would be there hungry and longer than desired. But we'll try again another day in hopes it'll be a better experience.
