It's another one of those places that you are not sure about when you arrive. But it had good reviews so we went in and I'm glad we did. Service was wonderful. I couldn't believe how much food we got on our plates. My husband had the corned beef hash with a biscuit and I had the steak breakfast tacos. I brought most of the potatoes home and had them the next day. The coffee was great as well.

Thank you for the birthday surprise pancakes. The food and service are always amazing!

Trendy's is my go to place for brunch. I'm addicted to their steak breakfast tacos. Thank you for surprising me with a birthday pancake. The flavor was so tasty I thought about the pancake during the day. The staff and food are wonderful.

We don't really have old-school diners with an authentic Americana quality in my city, so I was very interested in trying Trendy's during my stay in Redding. The servers were super friendly, the atmosphere is cozy, and there was a steady stream of regulars while I was here. I was initially excited for my meal but the food wasn't to my taste. The menu states that classic plates and omelettes come with garlic herb potatoes and choice of toast, biscuit, or pancake. My corned beef hash plate ($16.50) was pretty lackluster and underseasoned. The corned beef was mushy and more fine textured than what I'm accustomed to. However, the potatoes in my hash were decently browned and my eggs were cooked over easy as requested. The pancake was fluffy and came with pats of salted butter, but the pancake itself tasted like it was made from a mix. A server kindly brought over some homemade mixed berry, strawberry, and mango jams that made the pancake more interesting to eat. The warmed bottle of syrup on the table was a thoughtful touch. I didn't get a side of garlic herb potatoes with my plate, so I asked a server about it and they said my corned beef hash was already made with potatoes so it wasn't included. Maybe the menu wasn't updated or there was a misunderstanding, but I do see that another user posted their corned beef hash plate which did come with the garlic herb potatoes. My dining companion ordered the "pearl waffle" plate ($13.50) which had 2 Liège style waffles, whipped cream, and fruit. I ate some of the waffle and enjoyed crunching on the pearl sugar. It was nice with a smear of jam. The waffles are pretty small so if you have a hearty appetite, you might want to order an additional side. They ordered some scrambled eggs ($4.50) to round out their meal and said the eggs were fine. I don't think I'll be coming back but I definitely see why it's a local favorite. It's just not the best breakfast place for me and that's okay! Some non-food details: friendly and efficient service, indoor and outdoor seating, and decent amount of onsite parking + street parking available if needed.

Had the BEST Monte Cristo I have EVER had! We're in Redding for the weekend and turned to Yelp to find a breakfast spot--so glad it led us to Trendy's! The reviews were spot on because Trendy's did NOT disappoint. I love a good Monte Cristo and have tried a lot of them, but this one is hands-down the best I've ever had. The ham and turkey tasted like something straight out of grandma's kitchen on a special holiday, the cheese was melted perfectly, and the bread-to-meat-to-cheese ratio was absolute perfection. The service was just as amazing--Alma, our waitress, suggested I try the mango jam with it. I was hesitant (I'm usually a berry jam girl), but WOW... it was so good I ended up taking some home! My husband ordered the BEN sandwich and said it was delicious. He also had the fresh-squeezed orange juice, which brought back sweet memories of his grandma making it for him in a little amber glass when he was younger. Portion sizes are generous, prices are fair, and parking was easy--which is always a win. If you're passing through or local to the area, make sure you stop by Trendy's for breakfast or brunch. There's a reason they have so many great reviews! *REVIEW UPDATE* It was so good the first time we went back today! My Husband had the steak tacos and said they were AMAZING! I have a sensitive tummy and sometimes finding a good mix of carbs and protein can be a challenge. I ordered just a scrambled egg and since the turkey in the Monte Cristo was so good I ordered turkey all by itself for an added little protein! Dipped it in their homemade jam of course! For my carbs I ordered a pancake. (Kind of apprehensive about that from a prior review I read...) that review was way off! If that pancake was from a box please let me know who makes it cause it was so fluffy and yummy! As we sat outside we saw many people come in and out and the employees greeted many of them by name! I almost wish I lived closer so I could be a regular too! Sorry no pics This time as we are before we thought about it!

Stopped in Redding for a night on our drive from the Bay Area to Seattle and this looked like a really solid brunch spot! It did not disappoint -- we ordered the chicken apple sausage as well as the California Breakfast Burrito with country potatoes. The chicken apple sausage was delicious, and I would definitely reorder if I came here again. My husband also loved his breakfast burrito, especially with the spicy salsa (they also have a mild option). He was a bigger fan of the country potatoes than I was. We also had the cinnamon swirl pancake and panko-crusted french toast on the side. I wasn't the biggest fan of the pancake as I found there were too many walnuts in it for me to enjoy, so I think next time I'd try their sweet cream pancake instead. The french toast was definitely a standout though and super unique. The panko crust added the perfect crunchy texture and the sourdough gave it a solid structure that held up well with both syrup and their house jams (I recommend trying the peach jam if it's in season!). Definitely don't miss out on the french toast! Overall would stop by again if I'm in the area.

Came here for breakfast after taking to Yelp to find a nice local spot that wasn't a mediocre chain. Trendy's was the highest rated breakfast spot, and had classics that everyone in the group would like, so Trendy's it was! We were helped by Mary, who was very friendly and gave great customer service! The food was talking a while because it was packed, so she brought out our pancakes a little early so we could have something to snack on while we waited for the rest. My boyfriend and I shared the Huevos con Chillies Omelet and Corn Beef Hash, with a biscuit as our side for one and a pancake for the other. Both breakfasts were good, with the corned beef hash being my favorite of the two. The portions were a good size to fill you up, and the prices reasonable. It was Father's Day, so the place was filled with families celebrating. Even though it was quite crowded, we only had about a 10 minute wait to get seated. They have seating inside and out, but Redding is hot, so we opted for inside - otherwise it would've been even quicker to get seated. This spot is pretty hidden and nowhere near the areas of Redding we frequent when visiting, so very glad I found them on Yelp!

We stopped by for breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed it. Was warmly welcomed upon entering by one of the servers. She told us to grab an open table and someone would be with us shortly. Our server came over with in a few minutes and asked if we had looked at Menu and wanted to order: Our food arrived quickly looked amazing and tasted even better. Dope little breakfast diner with friendly service and solid food. We got both the norcal burrito and the breakfast tacos. The burrito was solid, but I'd HIGHLY recommend getting the breakfast tacos. Those were hella bomb. We also go the panko french toast, which I thought was decent. It was nothing special, just your standard french toast with panko breading, but still yummy. We went here on a Sunday morning around 1030ish and while it was a bit busy, definitely wasn't overcrowded and they had no problem with seating us promptly. There's plenty of parking as well, so that wasn't an issue. I'll definitely plan on coming back if I'm ever in the Redding area and wanting breakfast/brunch.

One of those small out of the way jewels that you find once in a while with absolutely amazing food and service! Huge portions! My wife had the Locomotive omelette. An egg omelette filled with meat, veggies and cheese, served with cottage potatoes and a biscuit bigger than a man's fist and their homemade jelly. My son had the Mt Shasta. A generous serving of scrambled eggs, mixed with ham, potatoes and cheese. Served with a pancake that was as big as a plate. He's a 17 year old and a big eater and could not finishe the whole thing. I had the Cortez with steak. Basically a bowl full of eggs mixed with corn tortillas (or Texas Migas) added steak that was amazingly tenders If you're in Redding this is the breakfast spot! We're talking about goi g back to try their burger!

Trendy's is a "hometown" diner serving breakfast and lunch. The staff make you feel right at home with welcoming smiles and attentive service. We sat outside to enjoy the morning sun, the for folding chairs they were comfortable, and the chairs and tables clean. The food was delicious, especially the omelette and the pancakes, syrup & butter (it was soft :) and easy to spread) are not necessarily needed- the pancake was light, fluffy, and buttery sweet. Whether you're a local or passing through Trendy's is a great choice and sure to become a favorite!!

We came here early on a Tuesday morning at 9am, it was just us and another party of two. A local mom and pop breakfast spot. Plenty of parking. Our server was nice and sweet and attentive. We ordered the chicken fried steak with a side of pancake and the trendy burrito. Chicken fried steak was yummy and breaded well with a good amount of gravy. The burrito was your normal bfast egg and bacon. Would come to support local again!

We came here on a weekday and the place filled up with a trickle and was pretty full by like 930 am. We ordered a French toast plate and the chia pudding. We also ordered a coffee and orange juice. In total, the bill was over $50 and so it was not cheap. The food itself was just ok. The French toast was much more eggy than we thought it should be, and on the drier side. The chia pudding was fine, nothing special, but it did come with some fruit and granola. Overall, we thought the food was just ok. The service was kind and helpful, though. There is plenty of parking up front and on the side streets.

Omg this was the best dining experience ever and I mean ever!!! They close at 2pm I showed up at 4pm they opened up and served us anyways. The food was absolutely mind blowing real authentic food freshly made with real ingredients. It was so delicious the service was amazing too. I had the carnitas salad it was so fresh and the sauce was to die for. Hands down the best food ive had in redding in a very long time. If your looking to have your soul fed and some different I highly suggest trendys!!!!!!!! Only complaint I could think of is for the quality of food they serve the menu is underpriced thats hardly a complaint though!!!! read more

This is my Fiancé and I's favorite brunch location. The food is always delicious, the staff is consistently happy, friendly, and helpful, prices are fantastic, and the atmosphere is extremely welcoming and pleasant. I HIGHLY recommend getting the potatoes with your meal - you won't be disappointed! I didn't think we would find somewhere we just can't get enough of! It was recommended by a friend since I love a good breakfast. At best I thought it was mediocre. Small portions and they took a long time to take order, and receive food. It wasn't the servers fault she did the best job she could they were busy. The portion was smaller then I expected. Nothing to go wild about the food was just average I got the Country fried steak, it was tough to cut through, not like other similar meals I've had before at other restaurants. I got seated at the counter almost right away but didn't get waited on for a solid 5 minutes. It took 45 minutes for my omelet to come out of the kitchen and I saw multiple people at the counter seated after me get served their food before me. Safe to say I wasn't pleased, especially when no explanation was offered. I finally had to ask them to serve me the side of toast that came with my omelet while I waited since I was quite hungry at that point. They also charged me extra when I asked if I could substitute an ingredient with a different one but didn't give me a heads up that they would charge extra. Might've just been a bad day at the restaurant but it didn't leave a favorable impression on me. read more

Yummy! This place is fan-freakin-tastic. I ordered the corn beef hash and had to resist the urge to lick my plate. We all know when canned corn beef hash is set in front of us. I'd like to say it doesn't happen often when I go out to eat but it does. Not here! Their corn beef hash was the best I've had. It also came with two pancakes that were really good. My husband was surprised that I ate two whole pancakes cause I normally find fault in them. I mean, it's hard to beat the ones from scratch that I make at home. But the real kicker here was the homemade strawberry syrup/jam I put on top. I really wish this place had been around when I was living in the area but they'll be seeing me every time I visit! read more

Best country fried steak in town. Love the portion size and quality of all ingredients. Can't get away from this ridiculous delicious meal. Great atmosphere and family owned. So Yum! Eggs Benedict special this morning. (Every other Sunday). Boyfriend got a breakfast burrito with their home made salsa. I noticed lots a details like the little cute side of salsa with the burrito, and the fruit bowls were even perfection. Feels a little like a fine dining spin on breakfast but a fair price on food for sure, and big portions. Good job guys. Def a new fave for us! read more

This restaurant has so much personality! From the home made jams and sauces to the quality service that you get from a family-run business, this restaurant gives you that warm "at home" feeling that a quality diner should. The food was alright, however, it seemed like the staff had never been busy before and had a hard time keeping up. It was pretty rare that we got help or even saw someone and therefore never got a refill for coffee until I walked around to get someone to give me coffee. Like I said, the food was fine but left us feeling kind of sick like we ate a bunch of geese. We have only gone once so I would like to go back and try again and see if it is better, if it is ill update this post. The pancakes were very good though. read more

Better than just great food. The food is unique. I had the corned beef hash that comes with sweet cream pancakes. Never tasted pancakes like this. Very good. They make their own corned beef and the hash was delicious. If I lived in Redding I'd be coming here frequently. read more

I had some time to myself on my last day at Redding, CA, so I thought I would try out a new place for lunch. Unfortunately, it wasn't that good and the portion wasn't very much. So, I went to Trendy's, a restaurant I had been to once before for breakfast on a previous trip. It was amazing then, and it's amazing again now. I didn't want the potatoes with the dish, so I ordered green beans instead. They were pretty good. They were also playing Bethel worship music in the kitchen, so I'm not surprised this place has such high quality food and great service. I'll be back! read more

Finally, a place where the food is really good. I had the 2 Taco lunch and it had shredded beef or pork, cheese, avocado, It was served with a nice pasta salad and the coffee was excellent. Overall, this was a very pleasant lunch. This is a family owned restaurant and all of them were very nice and polite. The meat comes from another great local company, R and R meats . I am planning to come back and try some of the other selections. This restaurant has a small town feel to it and I liked it a lot. read more

Super awesome tiny little locals spot! Beware this place is always packed-because it's delicious! They have a great selection of traditional breakfast items to fun ones! No alcohol, so if you wanted mimosas look elsewhere. Despite being crowded and full of people they food came very quick! Great spot guys! read more

Your best bet for breakfast in Redding! Atmosphere, service and food quality are all top notch. Best omelette I've had in a long time (NOT greasy), and they actually know how to make a real Monte Cristo sandwich - amazing! Trendy's is now my go-to restaurant whenever I'm in Redding. Trendy's has been my go-to breakfast spot for about five years now. What keeps me coming back isn't just the amazing food, but the wonderful customer service I receive every time I'm in. My coffee is never empty and rarely even half gone before I'm asked if I'd like for my mug to be tipped off with some more. The food has always been delicious and the portions are large and I always have to ask for a box at the end of my meal. Trendy's is definitely a restaurant to go to when you have the time to sit back and relax as the wait for food is a bit slow, but that's one of the reasons why I love going there so much. read more

Best breakfast potatoes I have ever had. Super clean and pleasant bathroom. Made from scratch food that is delicious. We had the eggs Benedict and the biscuits and gravy. HUGE portions. Great service. What more can I say? Oh, it's a family-run business which makes me happy to support it. read more

Hands down, the BEST breakfast I've ever had. We left here feeling full, happy and amazed at the delicious food we had just discovered. We were all very tired, traveling from Portland to San Francisco when we decided to grab some breakfast in Redding. We stopped at this small spot, not expecting much until we were served. Amazing waitress, very welcoming and sweet! She helped us all pick out a meal patiently. We got our food rather quickly too. I got the sausage platter with eggs, their homemade potatoes and a side of pancakes. The pancakes were to die for. Fluffy, sweet, and melted in your mouth with flavor. The sausage was fresh, the eggs to perfection, and the potatoes had a very unique and seasoned flavor. My cousin had some of their jelly, which is also homemade, and it was amazing! We wished we could have bought a jar of it to take home. I cannot stress enough how amazing this place is. If you're ever looking for an amazing breakfast, this is the place!!! read more

Meet the Business Owner: Cupertina G.

As of February 2020 Trendy's was purchased by the current owners of Joe's Giant Orange (a thriving north Redding / Shasta Lake I5 staple restaurant!) The new owners bring over 35 years experience in the restaurant industry combined with their love of delicious food and desire to put smiles on their customers faces! No one loves food more than the owner and head chef Ruben, he has been cooking with his heart & soul for over 35 years, and his wife Cupertina has been serving their customers with a smile and running the business for over 10 years. When they heard this past December that the previous owners of Trendy's were thinking about selling their restaurant, they jumped at the opportunity to own a slice of iconic downtown Redding's thriving food scene! Since the beginning of February they have worked side by side with the previous owners of Trendy's, and have perfected the recipes and the menu, and are working hard to deliver mouth watering food with amazing service!

My family and I (11 of us) is on our way back to the Bay Area coming from Trinity after four days of camping. My brother left a day earlier then us & him and his wife found this place and told us how great it is, so we had to try for ourselves. SO GLAD we made the stop. The food is AMAZING!!! What really won us over was the outdoor seating--it's comfortable and dog-friendly, which is a lifesaver when traveling with our Belgian Malinois. Let's start with In store ordering is the only way to order from them. The food is really really good, fresh, fairly quick and moderately priced. It's worth the cost for what you get. Ordering Togo can have mistakes and ordering for delivery, well continue reading. Now.... I Would not recommend ordering from their 'From the Hearth' app. When you download it and order from it it seems as though it's an app they monitor and delivery would be private. It's DoorDash that the 'ordering/payment/delivery it actually goes through. Here's where it gets frustrating. On DoorDash app when an order is incorrect you can file a claim and get a refund. You cannot do that with this app, nor is there anyone to help you through From the Hearth side and it's missing the DoorDash side. I've done several home deliveries through the app and mostly items were correct, a few times fries or sauces, added ingredient's to a dish we're missing and we'd than have to go to the store to get them, which is manageable but the experience I'd like to really share is: I made a $175 order to feed my family and friends that were in town. It took over 2.5hrs to finally get delivered to us, it even got delivered to the wrong house and when trying to get it figured out through From the Hearth staff they treated me as if I was lying and would not remake the food nor refund me. The food was literally "missing" and I was told I had to go through the subsidiary (DoorDash) that's when I learned it was not their app and they had no responsibility once it left their store. But really for me, It was the way the From the Hearth staff responded to the incident that truly baffles me and makes me not eat there anymore. I use to frequent the business several times a month, this was extremely rude and made me very disappointed. I would NOT recommend them based on their customer service by this experience.
