Today was our second visit to Trendy's. While the location is not pretty, the food and service more than make up for it. Prices are reasonable and there is more than enough food. The first time we were there, I had chilaquiles special and my husband had the country sausage breakfast with eggs and pancakes. He is picky about both his sausage and his pancakes. The sausage was outstanding and the pancakes light and fluffy. The eggs cooked perfectly to order. My chilaquiles were outstanding as well. Just the right amount of heat. Had I requested it, they would have added even more heat. Today, he had the same breakfast as the first times. I had the corned beef hash breakfast with scrambled eggs And sourdough toast. The corned beef hash is house made and it is sooooo good. I could easily just have that for a meal. And let's not forget their fresh squeezed orange juice! Yum! PS. Their ice tea is brewed to perfection. Not too strong, not too weak and NOT bitter. AND they clearly don't use the coffee maker to brew it. The patio is dog friendly and they will bring a water dish for the dogs. We had the same server both times and she is just a delight. Will return, yet again, on our next trip through. read more

We have been here three times now over the past five and a half years since we have moved to Northern California. We often pass by Redding, and this place is absolutely a must for us to stop by and get our breakfast power. The owners are super nice and friendly, our waitress is super friendly polite and carry friendly conversations with us whenever we stop by. We have tried some of the seasonal items and some of the staple items in the menu. Everything is absolutely delicious and super yummy. The quality and quantity is so good. The prices are very reasonable. The dining area is family and friends friendly. Moderately quiet, and clean. Everything is ready for guests and they are so quick to serve. If you are local or visiting, highly recommended. Dish I was impressed by is the Huevos Con Chilies. read more

Wow what an incredible find for breakfast in Redding. Read up on Trendy's on YELP and decided to try it. Inside seating and plenty of space when we arrived. Food was delicious and a very hearty portion for everyone. My hash was good, not piping hot but very good. The hand pressed egg sandwich was delicious too. Our server suggested going with the OJ carafe and what was a great suggestion. The home made jellies and jams are worth trying. The biscuits were huge and I enjoyed my pancake too. Nice friendly family spot in a mostly residential area but close to downtown Redding. The food was okay--the house special panko crusted French toast was nice but a bit heavy (I should have known), but my husband's breakfast plate with sausage, eggs and toast was better. We sat outside because we had our dog, but we saw someone come out with their dog so it may be a totally dog friendly place inside and out. A nice quaint restaurant that is bigger inside than what it looks outside so don't be intimidad if you see a line. The staff very friendly and attentive considering how busy they were. Now the food.... good but not great. I ordered their chimichurri steak. It's an 8oz ribeye steak. Glad I ordered it medium rare because it came out medium. The chimichurri sauce it's self was a bit on the oily side for me. The home potatoes didn't have much flavor either. My husband ordered the breakfast tacos with chorizo. Now these were really good. Big portions that could be shared. Again home potatoes were bland but the chorizo you can tell was fresh! Overall great experience would try again ordering something different. read more

Starting off. The food is fantastic. I have serious dietary restrictions so it's usually ham and eggs for me. This time I also got a HUGE house made biscuit. And house made boysenberry jam. Yummo. My better half had huevos rancheros with chorizo. I told her I wish I could make her moan with pleasure like that dish did! And to be fair, she was right. I ain't that good. Here's a tip, get a side portion of the tomatillo sauce that comes on the huevos rancheros, for whatever you order. It is just that damn good. They could bottle and sell it in an old shoe and it would still be better than anything else out there. Don't judge this book by its cover. The building is old. Like, maybe 100 years old but it's about the food. Eat there, leave happy. read more

The reviews don't lie. Soooo good! I had the breakfast burrito with bacon. It was huge and delicious. The salsa was the perfect amount of spicy. I had a fresh fruit bowl on the side that was very tasty as well. My compadre had the huevos rancheros with chorizo and raved about it and the tomatillo salsa. My wife did a quick search on Yelp so we could get something to eat before leaving Redding. She found this place and we decided to check it out. We arrived about 11am and it did not appear to be very busy. We asked if we could sit outside. There were about 6 tables there with what appeared to be a sort of make shift sun cover to allow them to keep serving during the pandemic. Two of the tables were occupied. We chose a table that allowed for us to also enjoy the sunshine and were provided menus.  My wife ordered the chicken caprese sandwich with onion rings and I ordered the breakfast burrito minus salsa and sour cream. Our meals arrived in a timely manner and looked delicious. During this time many of the tables began filling up as well. My wife went in to use the restroom and said it was very cute inside and looked much bigger on the inside than what we had originally assumed. Stopped by here on a road trip because I read that they were fantastic about food sensitivities. And they were! Not only is the food delicious, but they're incredibly open to adjusting everything on the menu and, should you make a mistake while ordering, they remake the entire dish. No fuss! A classic American diner brunch experience. The portions are sizeable and flavors are very familiar. We ordered the chicken fried steak (side of pancake), 2 orders of panko crusted French toast, and the bacon and eggs. We were very pleasantly surprised by the large size of the pancake side (the size of a full dinner plate!). The chicken fried steak was well seasoned, but the potatoes and gravy were both a bit underseasoned. The pancakes were delightfully fluffy and sweet, and the French toast had a great crunch because of the panko crusting. The bacon was pretty average though. The service was quick and friendly as well. We would definitely get brunch here again when we're in redding! read more

You can throw what I had previously said about their potatoes out of the window, and their food is simple diner food at this point in time. What a shame. This place was special. It's not bad. We drove all the way to Redding from Red Bluff (about 45 minutes) to eat at Trendy's. What lured us the most was that we wanted to try the fried green beans. When we looked at the menu we learned that they no longer offer those even though their online menu lists them. Our breakfast was good and the staff very friendly. Service was a little abrupt and not super friendly...which is weird, considering, I'm assuming our waitperson was most likely the owner. We are visiting from out of town and were looking for a place for breakfast. Trendy's had the best reviews of anywhere in Redding. In contrast to its name, the restaurant isn't that trendy in atmosphere or food, it's kind of a down home diner feel, you get the sense it's been there for a while. Despite being in downtown Redding, parking is very easy--there are diagonal spots right in front and a parking lot next to it. For a Sunday morning, there wasn't a crowd until until around 9:15/30, but plenty of seating when we arrived around 8:40. The menu is pretty traditional, but they have Panko French Toast which is kind of unique. My daughter got the kids meal of this, and rates it 100 stars. The panko makes it satisfyingly crispy. She received some thick cut bacon with it as well. I ordered the Garden Omelet which has egg whites with an assortment of veggies I really liked. The breakfast potatoes were pretty good but that combined with toast was more carbs than I needed. I really liked the coffee, and when I asked for a to go cup for the bit I had left, my server brought me a big full fresh cup to go! Our server and the other servers were all super nice. We would definitely come here again when we're in town. read more

Just a little off the main streets of Redding, this was a breakfast place my family stumbled into on our way north. Oh lord I am glad we did. We were greeted immediately, seated at one of their tables, offered coffee or juice. Freshly squeezed mind you. And the coffee ... well, it was good. I confess to being a snob. OMG those breakfasts. The pancakes were fluffy pillows of deliciousness. I happen to dislike maple syrup (fine, sue me) but they have homemade jams. HOMEMADE JAM! yeah baby, I was happy. Eggs done well. One of us got chicken fried steak and I tried it with that lovely gravy. Calories don't count when you steal off of another's plate. Bless my family for not stabbing my hands. My dad and I came here for breakfast while staying here in Redding. He ordered the steak tacos and I had the chia pudding. The waitress (Alma) was super friendly and helped us choose and we were not disappointed! The chia pudding was not too sweet, had great textures from the granola and coconut, and the fruit really lightened the whole dish. The tacos were super flavorful (needed a touch of salt), and the potatoes were perfectly cooked and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food, I think the tacos were $16 and the pudding was $12. It's a little bit divey, but I think that adds to the whole experience. Trendy's is a nice small local Breakfast and Lunch restaurant. All the servers were very welcoming and on top of making sure you were had anything you needed. Coffee, water and that you were comfortable. I got the shroom in Cali omelette without the potatoes. This was by far a great omelette with not being skimpy with ingredients.
