The corned beef hash has good flavor, but the corned beef and the potatoes are either a small dice or ground with a resultant texture just like canned. I love diners, and Trendy's never disappoints. The food is well-portioned and priced, the bacon is really good, and I always try to find a way to sneak one of their slices of panko-crusted French toast into my order. Maybe embarrassingly I've never been inside the restaurant, as I always bring my dogs and sit on the patio, but the service has been great there including for my pups. They have dog water bowls, and often there's another dog or two for them to say hello to. Dog-wise the only advice to note is the parking lot and walk up to the restaurant is all paved and not shaded, so may be too hot mid-summer. However, the patio itself is covered. If you're not a dog owner or into eating around them :) I'm sure the interior is nice, and of course the food just as delicious! read more

Must try Trendy's if you're visiting Redding! One of the best brunch places I've ever had. They have great food, big portions, and friendly service! Trendy's Burrito with chorizo - the biggest breakfast burrito I've ever had! Packed with meat, eggs, and potatoes. Comes with a side of sour cream and salsa which added lots of flavor. There are also more sauces on the table as well. Panko Crusted French Toast - I have never had panko breaded french toast and it's a game changer! It adds a crunch to it (be careful of your mouth). Syrup came warm and tasted so yummy with the butter spread on top. Chicken Fried Steak - crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside and paired well with the gravy. Hashbrowns could've been more crispy. Scrambled eggs were great. We opted for the pancake as our side and it was huge! Better bang for your buck as opposed to a piece of toast or biscuit. There was a bit of crust on the pancake and the inside was super fluffy. It was perfect. One of the best pancakes we've had. read more

Thankfully we still got seated right away and service was still excellent even though it was so busy. 4 stars because the cheese on my burrito wasn't melted and texturally was grainy. This is a place I hadn't heard about before but family came into town and wanted to go for breakfast. It is off the beaten track in my opinion and does not impress from the outside but man I was very pleased with my experience. Our server was Kaelyn, who was nice and on top of filling our beverages. I ordered the ATF which came with french toast and the toppings as well as ordered the Chicken Fried Steak. Both meals were delightful and filled me up. I definitely recommend giving them a try for yourself. One thing I was not a fan of was the construction or renovation they were doing to the outside of the building. This is a tough one because the quality was all over the board. 5 Stars for the food 3 Stars for seating 2 Stars for service 1 Star for coffee The taste and portions of our meals were fantastic. Meal 1: Classic breakfast with pancakes and sausage. Eggs were actually cooked properly with the whites set and yolks warm and runny. Sausage had nice crispy bits, potatoes were cooked through with a nice browned top and the pancakes were large and light. Meal 2: Monte Cristo with hash brown potatoes. Thick Texas toast appeared to be battered on one side only and that side was to the inside. The sandwich was piled with meat and processed white cheese slices which added a melt element. Again the potatoes were cooked very well. The sandwich deviated from expectation in that the traditional sandwich is egg batter dipped and then cooked as opposed to cooked then assembled. The jam was a rhubarb which in itself was good but did not complement the sandwich. Over all two nice meals. Seating is quite limited but seemed well spaced in the front and outside but in the back the tables were close enough that the servers kept bumping the chair every time they went past to reach tables along the windows. I was already pressed up against the table and my partner was up against the wall. It would feel less crowded and eliminate bumping customer chairs if one table was removed. Service was friendly but scattered. I will say that for a Monday they were surprisingly busy. Pancakes were served without syrup and not just to our table. Servers were only circulating our area to seat, take orders and deliver food. Coffee was maybe offered twice. Coffee was blistering hot and extremely bitter. Perhaps it is set too hot burning it and ruining the taste. Two creams didn't really help. Overall I would recommend and return if in the area. read more

The food was pretty on point and very flavorful as well as a lot of options. I'd say one of my favorite aspects of this location is that they do freshly squeezed orange juice and the freshness and sweetness is too notch. It felt like I got a vitamin C shot. Trendy's was a solid, satisfying breakfast spot on a recent early Saturday morning in Redding, passing through on a road trip. We were seated right away. The people working there were very nice, and answered our questions about the menu items. Service was fast, which was perfect for us, because we needed to get back on the road. I ordered coffee and Banana Foster Oatmeal with caramelized banana with butter & brown sugar. It was delicious and filling, and just a little bit like having dessert for breakfast! Not overly sweet though. I also had a side of scrambled eggs for some extra protein. My husband had eggs and a sweet cream pancake, which was tasty and fluffy (yes, I got a few bites!)
