My husband and I recently decided that it was time to remodel our rental condo's kitchen. We think the kitchen hasn't been remodeled in over 30 years, so it was definitely time for an upgrade. After looking at many different vendors, we decided to work with Travertine Artisans. We wanted to share a bit about our experience so people can make an informed decision. Free quote experience -- There were a few vendors who we contacted to get quotes from that charged for quotes. Travertine Artisans was able to provide a free quote when I emailed a photo of our current kitchen with rough dimensions. We also included a photo (found on internet) of what we wanted our kitchen to become. Travertine showed their level of experience as they were able to take our photos along with some simple measurements and generated a quote that was indeed very accurate. After that they insisted to measure themselves to make sure they were giving us the best price possible. After they measured themselves, they were able to give us a better price. Shop selection, colors -- Their selection in store was quite beautiful. They had tons of samples to make it easy to mix and match styles, stains, counter tops. We did not know if we wanted granite or quartz counter tops, so Reuben gave us the pros and cons of using each material. With Reuben's help, we were able to settle on a very modern white quartz counter top. Communication -- My husband and I have worked with more than our fair share of vendors over the years and we find quick communication is the biggest key to a successful job. Communicating with Reuben and Reuben son, was a piece of cake as they were always available via voice, text, or email. During our remodel, they found an issue with our overhead oven vent and that we would probably need a new one. Not only did they quickly communicate it, Reuben went out of his way to find alternative units for us to purchase. With other vendors, this could have taken days to resolve, but with Travertine Artisans, we knew the issue, the measurements for a new one, and with one Amazon purchase, it was all solved. Schedule -- Reuben also worked very well within our schedule. They were able to work around our busy schedule to get the keys and begin work. They kept to their original estimate and finished the project in the time they said they would. As many people might know, what seems like a simple project can always balloon out of proportion, setting the schedule back many days. This was not the case with Travertine, even with our small vent issue, they were still able to finish when they said they would. Workmanship -- Soft close drawers! The cabinets and countertops look great! Need I say more? Their attention to detail as to prevent any chips or scratches was superb. They were very careful not to damage any existing drywall or tile in the kitchen and made sure to cover the walkways within in the condo to prevent any stains. You can tell they take pride in their work and it shows off nicely (especially to perspective tenants!) Price -- We shopped around. Very, very competitive pricing. We love working with Reuben from Travertine Artisans. They did a wonderful job with our new kitchen cabinetry, granite counter tops, a couple of vanity tops and bathroom tile, they basically helped us do our entire home. I want to be very thorough with my review. This was our first remodel so Reuben and I had quiet a long Q&A about how everything was going to happen. I am not going to say the exact amount of money that we spent but I can say that we spent quiet a big amount on this remodel, it was to be expected due to the amount of work we had done, so my expectations was high. This was a major investment and every dollar spent at Travertine Artisans was well worth it. Reuben was very attentive to answering all of my questions since this was our first remodel. He expertly showed me more affordable kitchen cabinets than we originally had looked at and the final product was a light grey colored wood with upper same colored colored cabinets. The result was beautiful, I cant say enough how much I love it. The cabinets have slow closing doors as do the upper cabinets doors. Everything is just wonderful. They were a fraction of the cost at another brand of cabinets that I originally looked at. And I am so glad we went with TA. What I like about Travertine Artisans was that we could select the slabs we wanted to use. Plus, they had almost everything we needed at the same place instead of going to various places for certain things. The granite we used was Fantasy Brown, gorgeous. For our vanity tops we decided to go with Dallas White Granite, color goes great with the tone of our bathrooms, the whole thing just came together beautifully. We love the service they provide. At the last minute we had to adjust and order one more slab and they were very fast to the adjustments necessary. The reason I give this company 5 stars is that they were very attentive to all of our needs, met all of our standards. Its like they adapt to the customer that they are serving while keeping their touch. They educated my husband and I on what was normal to expect, what was not. This is why they get high marks. They manage themselves very professionally in everything that they do, with their own product, in their installation staff, customer service. When you are dealing with a home project and spending a big amount of money , you want a company which values their customers and stand by their quality. Travertine Artisans does exactly that. I had been in the market for granite counters since April 2019. We received three quotes from the Killeen area. Some were really pricey and others had 12 week turn around time. I had almost given up when I saw an ad for Travertine Artisans via Facebook on 24 July 2019. I reached out through Facebook messenger and received a response within half an hour. We scheduled an appointment for 27 July and Ruben showed up on time and gave us a great quote for everything we were asking for. The price included tear down, disposal, granite, sink cut-out, and install. The cut of the edges could be any style I chose at no extra cost- this is important because some companies charge additional for anything other than eased edges. He offered us a free stainless 50/50 under mount sink and we kindly accepted! That same day we went to his showroom in Austin and selected the granite slab. He had several available options. He showed up on 31 July with another worker to do the tear down ( counters, back splash, and disposal of materials). We needed 65 sq ft of counters and I was requesting the bar piece to be polished underneath. He also recommended three supports for the bar counter to secure it safely (at an additional cost, but totally worth it). It took him four days to complete all of the counters and back splash. Two friendly workers installed on 05 August. They were very efficient, careful, and had open communication with me the entire time in regards to each step. There were minor scratches on the dry wall, but nothing we couldn't fix with some caulk and paint. They made sure everything was to my satisfaction before leaving. Ruben showed up on 06 August to finish minor details and to inspect the finished product. My father was so happy with my end result that he also decided to go with Travertine Artisans and his counters are set to be installed tomorrow. Turn around time for him was less than one week because he needed less square footage. This company takes pride in their work and communicate effectively. I will definitely be recommending this company to all of my friends and family in the future. I absolutely LOVE my kitchen. It looks beautiful! This is the second time that we've used Travertine artisans. This will be a long review, but bottom line, they are AWESOME!! We first hired Travertine to redo our kitchen countertops, new sink and backsplash, and a tile wall behind our stove. We LOVE white subway tile w/bright white grout and used that for the backsplash. We choose concrete color ceasarstone (quartz) for the countertops. The work was top notch and price was amazing. Now, after that, we then decided to pull the trigger to demo our existing bathroom and linen closet that abutted it in order to create TWO brand new bathrooms in our previous 1 bath place. Here's the basics: You call Reuben and go by her shop to select stone,etc. If he does not have what you've found elsewhere, he will find it for you. It may be from another vendor or stone maker, but it will basically be the same product (this happened with our white tile porcelain/quartz floors). Reuben will also come measure your space and give you a bid. Once you give the go ahead, the crew shows up. Reuben always showed up with his crew to give instructions, deliver supplies and just make sure everything is going to plan. The install guys measured once more before they brought in the quartz slabs just to insure everything was right. We are beyond thrilled!!! These guys do an AMAZING job when it comes to details. Seams are nearly invisible. I've actually had 2 other vendors (unrelated to the bathroom) ask for his number. Bottom line, we received top quality work at an AMAZING price and the guys that came to the house each day to do the installation are wonderful, nice guys and very hard workers! Reuben will check in with you each day about the next day's schedule or the schedule for the week. He was also very good at expediting any issues that came up. We selected all our fixtures via amazon or home depot or wherever we found what we liked (faucets, tubs, sinks) and they installed them despite that they do not regularly do that. I bidded our new bathrooms out to 2 other companies and their prices did not come close to Travertine. I also had the great experience with them since they already did our kitchen counters. Stay away from this man! He is a compulsive liar and an irresponsible bussiness owner. I am susprised how he still operates a bussines thanks to the fast growth of our community and the lack of reaserch combined with the trust of the good people who need the service of a kitchen remodeling specialist. The only thing Rueben Nunez specializes in is disguising himself as an honorable bussines owner and blaming his slave waged employees and his decieved customers for his incompetence. I hired him to do my kitchen countertops and he commited himself to become the sole contractor to remodel my whole kitchen. He had to cut down my bartop, as well as to redo my backsplash and the electrical and plumbing work associated with the entire project. He told me he could do the whole project within three days and made me sign his bid even when I told him I wasn't sure of the type of edge I wanted on my countertops with the pretext that he would come back to my house and show me other types of edges for me to choose. He never came back at me with the promised edges, so after five days his crew shows up with my new countertops fabricated with an edge I never agreed upon. After I had his crew take back the countertops, he cinically told me that since I had already signed the bid (which he decieved me to sign) I was obliged to accept the edge he had already authorized which of course I did not. He had me put through an absolute drama, discussion and stress about every little detail he was doing wrong only because he wanted to blame everything on his employees and myself about his lack of organizatoin, communication and competence. It has been almost a month since he started a supposedly three day project and I am still not satisfied as to this very moment. I cannot say how much I regret to have trusted in this shameless actor who performs with such confidence and false knowledge that have made so many good people fall into his trap. Little did I know that he has quite a reputation among builders and other sort of other people. Search for Marble Depot Stone here in Yelp. That's how he used to be called before. This review is more of a thank you letter to Reuben and the installation crew from Travertine Artisans. Our down-to-the-studs remodel was a big project and involved many logistical, design, and problem-solving decisions. We were extremely lucky to work with many talented and passionate individuals, and the Travertine Artisans team were among our favorites. They provided the countertops for our kitchen, master bathroom, and laundry room. Then, as we saw in person, the beauty and functionality of their products, we asked them to provide the countertops for our guest bathroom. Reuben took to look at a ton of granite and quartz slabs so we could pick what color we wanted to use in each room. We felt what we got from Travertine Artisans in style, durability, quality, and price-- was unmatched. There were certain areas for which I had a very specific image in my head of what I wanted and I swear, Reuben somehow exactly replicated that vision based on a poorly drawn sketch I drew and some vague hand motions I made. Everything turned out to be exactly how I wanted it. We love our house and feel lucky to live here. We realized many of the favorite rooms in our house are in large part, due to the imagination, hard work, and products supplied by Travertine Artisans. And last but definitely not least important, is that my wife, daughter, and I had a lot of fun and genuinely enjoyed working with Reuben and the rest of the team! Home building can be stressful and overwhelming at times, but we had delicious cappuccinos and belly-laughed our way through many a design meeting and their attentive-to-our-needs, yet firm guidance when our ideas got too crazy or just in poor taste, helped keep us on track, within budget, and avoid any heated marital "discussions" which can easily arise during the course of this type of project. Can't recommend Travertine Artisans enough! They are professional, precise, have beautiful stone, competitive pricing, and excellent customer service. We are currently re-doing our whole kitchen, and went with IKEA for the cabinetry. After hearing very mixed reviews about purchasing countertops thru IKEA (because of the third party installers) we decided to scout some companies here on Yelp. We decided to go in person to Travertine Artisans and met with Reuben who was so professional and attentive. In less than 5 minutes he had already recommended a Quartz slab that would be perfect for our kitchen. He took the measurements from my drawing, and he had the whole kitchen mapped out in less than 15 minutes with a full quote. Believe it or not the price was already better than IKEAs. Even though everything was great we still went out and visited two more companies. No one's customer service matched Travertine Artisans and all the quotes were actually very close (and still lower than IKEAs) We called them back and left the deposit (half of the total) and were promptly scheduled for measurements on Monday. Bear in mind this was all done Saturday by 5pm. Measurements were taken on Monday and the technician was so professional. All measurements were done by laser and turned out to be 100% spot on, even with our terribly uneven walls. We were worried about gaps on the sides that met the walls, but nope they got our cuts done perfectly 100%. Installation was done that Friday afternoon. So not even a week had gone by, and we had purchased the quartz, had measurements taken, and it was fully installed. Installers were professional, friendly, and fast! They put my sink in, caulked all the edges to the wall. The job was so clean and I am so happy with my Quartz countertops. Quote was 100% accurate- no surprises. I decided to write this review for several reasons, The main one being that everyone that works at this place, Travertine Artisans, really earned a 5 star rating. From the get go, the customer service was exactly what you expect it to be. I set up an appointment via facebook. I messaged them inquiring about granite countertops. I quickly made an appointment for them to come out and measure my kitchen. Appointment was free, I have heard not all places offer free estimates so this was a good sing for me. Reuben came to my home, measured my space, he showed me a few samples. We got into the details of what I wanted done. I felt really good talking to Reuben, he was very patient answering all of my questions, and most importantly, i could tell he was not trying to orientate me in the way that best suited him. He honestly heard what I wanted done and gave a few options based on my ideas. He said he needed to get back to his office so he could work out the estimate. The very next day I received their estimate. I found it to be very fair considering the service provided up to that point and the turn around time was good as well. We decided to give them the green light on the job. Just a few days later Reuben called me and asked if we were ready for install. This was within the time he promised he would be ready despite weather not helping. We were ready for install so they came over with our countertops. The install process was very tidy. Very little dust and mess that they did they made sure to clean up after themselves. Very professional install crew, very polite as well. We exchanged a few words with them and they stopped doing what they were doing to answer our questions. End results are outstanding. You can tell they keep an eye out for detail in their work. I can't say enough about how good my experience was with Reuben. I had the unfortunate task of trying to figure things out for myself after a contractor ripped me off. I had just picked countertops when that happened and was able to hunt down the business name where I'd met the contractor; Travertine Artisans. I talked to Reuben initially and he was ready to install ASAP. But he had to wait until we got things ready and had the kitchen cabinets in. Once we finally got to the countertop stage, I first got a bid from someone else who I'd been referred to. The bid came in $1,000 higher than what Reuben had quoted me...so there's my first compliment for TA...affordable pricing. I called Reuben on a Monday and was surprised he remembered me (it had been almost 5 months!). He happened to be in the area of my house and met me within 30 minutes. He said he'd have guys over on Tuesday morning to create a template for the countertops. But they didn't come Tuesday morning...they came that Monday night about 2 hours after Reuben had met me! Another compliment...fast work. They were on it like a duck on a junebug. On Tuesday they cut the countertops and polished them. Then, just as Reuben promised, the guys were installing the countertops on Wednesday. By late Wednesday afternoon, 48 hours after Reuben and I talked, everything was complete. So, timely, prompt, and they kept their word. And trust me, after getting ripped off previously, this went miles to restore my faith in people. So if you want someone who will get the job done right and quickly, I highly recommend Travertine Artisans. This experience is more than I ever could've hoped for. I want to write a 5 Star review for Reuben and everyone at Travertine Artisans so I can describe my experience with them. He has installed granite in our home a few months ago and this week in our rental condo. I have remodeled 6 houses in various parts of the Austin area and I had become jaded towards contractors. They never called you back and when they did make appointments they didn't show. Their work was shoddy and they didn't stand by it when there was an issue, just made excuses. Frustrating. Not Reuben. He wont let you down. All in all if you want granite installed by a responsive quality company this is it. Reuben set up an appointment with me quickly and was on time. His bid was competitive but his responsiveness was the deal sealer. We set a tentative date depending based on other remodeling we were doing and Reuben checked in with me to see if we were still on schedule along the way. The install team did an excellent job. Reuben also had made recommendations for the new sinks and sent photos. Nice and cheaper than buying them elsewhere. This time we used Travertine Artisans for our rental condo and I had a short timeframe between tenants. I sent them photos of the kitchen and he sent photos of a quartz piece he had that he thought would look great. It certainly does! As usual he was prompt and professional. Reuben then came to do the measurements and asked how I wanted a few things he noticed handled at the install. After the work was completed they facilitated fixing an issue that he didn't have to cover under the contract. Most companies it would be like pulling teeth to get it done. Excellent experience from beginning to end Travertine Artisans installed my kitchen countertop and backsplash with Cambria Brittanica, and it couldn't be more perfect. After a while of looking for the perfect quartz with a marble look, and flirting with porcelain, I finally found that Cambria was within my price range, Reuben from Travertine Artisans helped me find the perfect color. Reuben visited my home and proved he knew all the products and worked with me to get exactly what I wanted. The process was a pleasure. He was there every step of the way, he's a real professional. He delivered on his promised dates of install, and the cuts in the stone for the maximum impact. I appreciated that the install was only a two weeks from signing the contract, as I was over the plywood look. He kept in touch with updates and was always available for questions and had the answers. Lastly, the install team came to install, and again, I was not disappointed. They showed up on time, and completed the job in a professional and timely manner, and kept the kitchen clean. He talked me through small details and issues. The template Reuben created for the backsplash was intricate, as I was adding a shelf and we had specific spots where we needed holes. It was perfect once installed! I've had a less than perfect experience with a previous contractor that installed my bathroom countertop on a downward slope, so I was nervous about this given the amount I was spending. I decided to have my kitchen countertops redone. Changing the ugly laminate that has been there since I bought the house to new granite countertops. I did my research as to what company would be the best fit for me. I have heard contractors have a bad reputation for promising the world to get your money and the results being poor. I am very glad I found Travertine Artisans. The whole process was made very easy for me. I sent Reuben a text message asking for an estimate, he made it out to measure my kitchen that same day. So far so good. Talking to Reuben really made me feel comfortable, he was very attentive to details. I painted a picture of what I wanted done and he complimented what I was saying giving me a few options of materials that would go with the rest of the decor in my kitchen. He offered different colored granites, a low priced option and high priced options leaving it up to me. I picked out a color that stayed in my budget and that was just gorgeous. Reuben showed me the whole slab I picked out and where the cuts were going to be just to make sure everything was to my liking. They really involve you in the process as much as you want to be involved. He said they do this in order to guarantee customer satisfaction, I thought this to be very smart. You can tell that this company pays attention to details in the end result. The countertops are now installed and look amazing. My first visit to Travertine Artisans, they gave me a really good vibe, they really know the specs and everything that they need to know about their business. I was tired of trying to decide whether I should go with granite or quartz when I found Travertine Artisans. When I entered their shop, Reuben was quick to greet me despite him having other customers there with him. He suggested that I look around for a few minutes. I wandered around for a few minutes. He quickly came back to me and we started talking about what I wanted done. Reuben showed me a lot of slabs and even some remnant pieces ( I wasn't looking for remnant pieces but since I saw them and found a perfect piece for my master bath) I decided to go ahead with them and had them go over to my house to measure evrything that needed to be measured. Reuben was very helpful and patient and listened. I mentioned how much I loved a granite I had seen and within a couple of minutes, located a piece on the computer listed remnants. From sales, to purchase, to measuring and installation, I have been extremely happy with Travertine Artisans. Every person along the way was helpful and understanding. They are very professional, take a great deal of pride in their jobs and stand behind their work with a great warranty, too. My granite is perfect due to their attention to detail. The day they installed it, my patience had been worn to paper thinness, yet they were sweet and thorough placing the granite perfectly. As first timers for updating our home's surfaces, we evaluated several fabricators before we happened to come into Travertine Artisan's on a Saturday afternoon. That's when we met our awesome sales person, Reuben. He quickly put us right at ease, he was friendly and easy to talk to about everything granite, among other things. The more we talked, the more comfortable I became about making a decision on which fabricator to use. He directed us to a warehouse where we immediately found our perfect granite for our bar and kitchen. We have had our Tipperary quartz in the kitchen and Fantasy Brown granite in the bar area for a few days now, and we couldn't be happier. I must say it looks absolutely fantastic! The installation went great, everything was done meticulously and to our satisfaction. Soon after that, we returned to Travertine Artisans to look for remnants for our bathroom vanities. Finding the perfect piece was easy with so many slabs to choose from. Reuben helped us to finalize our selection of Super White Quartzite and we proceeded with four new vanity counters. We also purchased 4 porcelain sinks. Installation went flawlessly and the result is absolutely beautiful! I absolutely love my new granite counter tops. It is the first time I use this company and I will say that I appreciate their honesty and integrity, so I'd thought I'd write a good review, they really earned it. I've called several places trying to get quotes for to re do my kitchen counters. I wanted to do the remodel since I will have family coming in from out of town in a few days and I really wanted to make a good impression, they have been over before and my in laws could not stop talking about their new counter so I had to have mine redone too. I called a different company about a quote and the lady that I spoke to said that they were fully booked. It would have to be a couple of weeks before they could send some one over. As I was about to say thank you when they hung up, totally rude. After that I kept looking, that is when I ran into one of Travertine Artisan's ads. I gave them a call and they sent some one over that same day. Talked to the measuring guy about what I wanted done and the importance of having it done before Friday (Feb. 15). They said they could have it done way before then but we had to start now to make the deadline. I decided to trust them and I am very glad that I did. They finished up today. The kitchen looks amazing, I could not be happier with this company. Everything that they said they would do was delivered. Everyone I spoke to was super nice, very polite. I went to Travertine Artisans based on a reference from a family friend. My wife and I were interested in getting stone countertops, backsplash and a new sink. Travertine Artisans was able to provide all of these items. We went to their location in Austin and were met by Reuben. He was very knowledgeable in all aspects of the work we desired. He also was very patient in ensuring that my wife was getting exactly what she wanted. They even went so far as to wet the backsplash tiles so as to show exactly how they would look once the sealer was applied. We completed the choices and awaited for Travertine to come out for a measurement. For the initial pricing visit and the followup for the exacting measurements, the representatives from TA were very professional. Once we received the quote, we were pleased at the price in comparison to other installers. We paid the deposit and got the ball rolling. We received a call a week later and were invited to come to the factory to inspect the stone. The workers had already placed tape on the stone to indicate the exact cuts. I highly recommend visiting the shop where they fabricate everything to view the stone, the customer service experience was great. One week after the inspection we had the counter tops installed. We are so happy we found Travertine Artisan's! We expanded the west exterior wall of our home to go with a kitchen renovation. We were originally going to go through IKEA for the countertops since we ordered their cabinets but the lead time for delivery & installation was crazy. Same thing with Home Depot. With so much construction going on the last thing we wanted was to be near completion and have to wait another month for quartz or granite countertops. Travertine Artisan'swas my solution with only a week to a week & a half lead time to install once we picked our slab. Reuben set me up for an on site meeting. He came out to see what we would need and was great at making recommendations that would get me the look I wanted without breaking my budget. They sent me to a couple of places where I could select the slabs I wanted to use. I chose a gorgeous granite called Bianco Antigo and the shipped the slabs we choose to Reubens shop, fast and with no problems. We have a new stainless apron front sink which can be a bit tricky when undermounted but their experienced stone cutter came out and made a pattern to ensure precise cuts. A team of 3 installers came out and they really had their craft down. Efficient, professional and really good at what they do. I was so impressed I made it a point to call Reuben and let him know how much I appreciated their team. Best price and service hands down! Highly recommend them to everyone! After debating for several months on the type of kitchen countertops I wanted, we finally came to a decision and were actually on our way to another kitchen countertop shop. My husband insisted that we make a quick stop at Travertine Artisans to see what was available and to have yet another quote to compare. Reuben greeted us and answered many of our specific questions. He was very knowledgeable and showed us around his shop and his slab yard. They have many slabs to look at and he also said they can have any slab shipped to their shop. We made a consultation appointment for the very next day and decided to go with Travertine Artisans. From the very beginning, Reuben ensured that all of our questions were answered and that we were completely satisfied with our purchase and the work being done in our kitchen. We had many questions, and Reuben responded to us in a very timely manner in each instance and very much to our satisfaction. While I know Travertine is a big business with numerous customers, Reuben made us feel like VIPs! His customer service and care is a rarity! He continually went beyond the call of duty. He found the exact materials in the exact sizes that we requested and he followed up with every adjustment and modification that we made. We also appreciate the install crew. We got new granite counter tops from this business, Travertine Artisans, about 2 weeks ago. I HIGHLY recommend them. They are prompt, polite, and respectful to their customers time and very careful when in your home. They show up when they say they will, and if your job has any potential problems, they will let you know. The work that they do is just beautiful. We got exactly what we wanted, down to the smallest detail, the seams were exactly where we agreed that they were going to be and to be honest they are hardly visible. And their prices are GREAT! Our job was not an easy one due to cabinets. They were installed way before we hired Travertine were by a careless contractor who did not delivered what was promised. He was supposed to put in the counters as well but we did not like his work, so we had to find another company to do the counter tops. When Travertine Artisans came to measure and give us a quote, they told us our counter tops were crooked, and that our granite could crack if placed on cabinets with that much variance. We thanked them, got the cabinets leveled, and went to their slab yard in the meantime to pick out the actual slabs of granite they would use to fabricate our counters. They came back out to verify everything was OK, then installed our granite. The undermount sinks, the seams, the edges, everything is beautiful and exactly the way we wanted. Go with these guys.
