In my honest opinion, their prices were reasonable, all sales staff appeared to be friendly and helpful. We received a quote by the end of the day and waited a few weeks for actual measurements of our counter and backsplash space for replacement. Waited another few weeks to have them start demo on a Tuesday to disconnect stove, water, sink and dishwasher, and waited til Friday for installation of counters. Was originally planned for Thursday but due to miscommunication I wasted a full Thursday waiting to find out no one was coming. Came the following week to do backsplash and complete the job. For future reference, I would get an estimated timeframe from start to finish. Scheduling and communication seemed to lack and had difficulty trying to make my personal plans around them so I basically couldn't plan ahead for anything for 1 1/2 weeks. When I mentioned this to my sales associate he was very specific of a 3-4 day start/finish that was never mentioned to us, nor estimated in our contract. Well, we were way over their timeframe based on the wait time of scheduling. Since we had to go without sink water since Tuesday, a plumber came out Saturday to reconnect sink, stove and dishwasher for the weekend until completion the following week. I feel that the daily teams did a great job however I feel that my associate person could have given everything a thorough inspection, especially on completion day. Pictures and admiration does not pass as a full inspection. We ended up not having silicone caulk between the counters and backsplash therefore the grout was cracking, there were some quartz blemishes that needed touch up, electrical outlets were having problems, etc. and I had to make my own punch list for followup which again was not reinspected by my associate. So for over a two week period the job from start to finish was complete. I ended up caulking the counter to backsplash since nothing was scheduled, it was always next week.....not a scheduled day. I surrendered. Before this begun, full payment was done therefore I felt that they were done with us and left it at that. I still gave them 4 stars being that 90% of the job was done good by the assigned teams. read more

Didn't live up to their great sales pitch. Promised a project manager, daily updates, expert work, and so on. The people were so nice in this family-run business, and they seemed very professional. And they had good reviews. They seemed perfect until something went wrong. I signed in March, they started work in May, they aren't finished in December, and that's okay. I told them I'm not in a hurry; I just want it done right. A few months ago, they sent me an updated invoice that included my add-ons. I sent them my corrections and asked for their updated invoice. I reached out several times (via email, phone, text), and they never provided a new invoice. By my calculations, I overpaid them. As long as the work was done well, I was fine with that. I haven't asked for a refund, and we offered to pay for materials to fix what they built wrong. No complaints about costs. They just did so many things wrong and left damage behind. An exterior wall is damaged and sagging where there's an electrical outlet. The ceiling was supposed to have the tape at the seams removed and have new tape and professional knockdown texture matching. It looks like a poorly done DIY job, as does all of the finish work. And should caulk be used instead of tape? I read that it's a quick-fix that will need to be re-done. They installed heavily veined quartzite with no assessment to cabinetry for structural reinforcement, no sub base, no rods, no mesh. Only after installation did Carlos tell me not to stand on it because it will crack. If it could crack, why didn't he add a base? What I read of industry standards indicated that, even at 3cm thick, heavily veined stone should always have extra support so it doesn't shatter. Yes, it said shatter. Cracks in stone on a sub base can be repaired. Shattered stone cannot be repaired. Carlos agreed to have a woodworker build a custom vent hood cover for a vent insert. It would be built onsite by their professional woodworker because it would be a tight fit. The woodworker we met never came to build the hood. Carlos didn't want my husband to provide specs. A couple of guys came by to frame in the hood. I asked one of the guys (Cuba) to measure the insert, but he wouldn't. Carlos told me to stay out of it or his guys would walk off the job. Carlos said if I wasn't happy I could fire him. I don't think that meant he'd refund our money and pay for the damage. Result: they built it wrong TWICE. SEE attached PICTURES. I asked to have a meeting to plan how they would complete the work before anyone else comes over. We work at home and have been available almost every day for the last 7 months, but right now we are super busy. Yesterday, Gianna and Tony both said that no one else would come out that day. Then three different work crews showed up at my home at three different times in one day, twice when I was in meetings. Vinnie came by with a few guys and said that Carlos won't fix it and they're here to remove it. If Carlos is happy with how it looks, why send someone to remove it? Vinnie said the last guy left because he was afraid of me. (I'm almost 60 and overweight, and I have a disability.) Shocked, I asked if I seemed scary. Vinnie said he comes from a bad Chicago neighborhood and he knows what scary is. I found this combination of factors intimidating and frightening. Then Ephraim came by to do something, but I couldn't understand what he was saying. I was still scared, so I said no and shut the door. I called the people they refer to as Tall Tony, Tony Chico, Carlos, the office line, and Gianna and left messages for everyone. No one called back (they almost never do). At this point, I'm intimidated and angry. I contacted an attorney. Yes, I have a case. So what. Cases like mine are common. Like so many others in my position, I can't afford to go to court. I imagine Carlos banks on that when he walks away from an incomplete job. Yes, I do feel bad about leaving this poor review, but it's an honest account of my experience with Granite Radiance. read more

This is our second hone in Georgetown that Granite Radiance has remodeled. Why did we chose them again? Simply put they deliver and don't disappoint. The quartzite " Taj Mahal" that we used was actually a suggestion by Carlos, the owner, once he saw our new home in Sun City. And he was correct. So we chose our backsplash at Arizona Tile, ( fabulous support team there ) based on the countertop and the existing floors. It is an amazing combo. We get lots of compliments! We then moved onto the master bath. Since a foot surgery was in the immediate future, we decided to redo our bathroom shower, counter tops and backsplash. We decided on a frameless shower Using the same quartzite vanity top ( since we loved it) with a different tile, we also then added some accent marble around the tub. They finished both remodels in time and the final product truly exceeded our expectations. The professional team of contractors including our sales rep Marc Smith and Nelson in particular, at Granite Radiance are long term employees and to us that speaks volumes. I learned about them through the Austin Home and Garden show. Set up an appointment with them there which they confirmed via email. They had a person come out and measure for a bid in August. Never heard back from them. Then, in October, got an email from them saying my bid was about to expire. I immediately emailed them back saying I never received a bid and to please verify the email and date they sent the bid. No response whatsoever. Called them twice and they never answered. They did the job sometime ago at my rental in Austin. I told the owner they left it unfinished. He told me he told one of his staff to take cate of it, but they never did. It's still unfinished. I could not be happier, i did a lot of shopping as i had never purchased granite before, and I after talking to The Sales person there knew i had found the right place, the price was right the time frame was right it was all Right! I can say when my husband and I got to their Business, we were a little unsure, I even went on here to double check what others were saying ( its just a fenced yard with a trailer and Granite slabs on it) BUT They had a great selection and service. In comparison to other places who had similar looking Granite they were the lowest cost. But to add to that They also were able to come out measure with in 24 hours and then install within 48 hours! All the other shops were a 2 Week wait for install. The Crew was very good, they were in an out quickly and left no messes, the owner then stopped out to be sure that the job was to my liking. I showed up for a remnant liquidation sale and couldn't believe how kind everyone was - specifically a couple of younger guys, Tony and Charlie. They helped me load a couple of free, beautiful remnants into my car and I told them that I was so happy with the experience, that I'd love to get a bid (not giving guaranteed work, but a bid) on the other aspects of my home remodel. I decided to leave my favorite slab on-site for them so I could give THEM the business of fabricating, instead of my usual fabricator. Two weeks later, after I decided to use someone much more professional for cabinetry, and asked them to give me a bid just for two bathrooms using my free remnant and another at full price, I got a call that they couldn't 'honor' the free remnant deal anymore because they did it to me as a favor for something in return (cabinet work). So, I got a free remnant I was super excited about, and trusted them enough to leave it there for fabrication this week. Now it's not free anymore because I didn't just run with it. I'm not having it. So glad I didn't trust them to come into my home and install. Next time, I'll be wary when a 'deal' sounds too good to be true. This company does some of the most beautiful work I've ever seen for a price that is below any competitor bid. The before was sad, tile on top of older tile, the counters were tile. It was easy to describe in one word - UGLY. Carlos can be difficult to reach but he definitely has vision. What he describes is beyond expectation and what I got defied even that. This is the company you go to when you want or need it done expertly, efficiently, as inexpensively as possible, and courteously. I am impressed beyond words, you just have to see for yourself. We couldn't be happier with the job Granite Radiance did remodeling our master bathroom. They tore out walls, ceilings, flooring, countertops, a garden tub and a shower stall. Now we have a beautiful 8' walk-in shower stall, plus new granite countertops, flooring and wall tile. Plus they made the toilet wheelchair accessible. Can't say enough about their personnel, especially their tile guy, Jose. The owner, Carlos, is a perfectionist - just the type of person you want in a contractor. He saw a way to improve the original design we had requested and did it at no extra cost to us simply because he thought it would look better. He and his assistant, Tony Chico, were in daily contact with us once the work started. Cleanup was done perfectly. Carlos came to my house and said the job can be finished in two days. They showed up late the first day, and as they began working, it became apparent that they really didn't know what they were doing. They cut my back splash extensively to make badly cut granite pieces fit, leaving so many gaping holes that the entire back splash had to be replaced! They also incorrectly installed mounting brackets for the bar top area, leaving them completely exposed and unsightly. A two-day job turned into a week-long misery, and they made such a complete mess of my house, everything was covered in a thick layer of dust by the time they left. These guys are unprofessional, over-promise and under-deliver, and will cheat you out of your money. Don't use! read more

Absolutely ecstatic with the work Carlos and his tile crew did on my fireplace remodel. Nelson (the tile man) is the best I have worked with...a real perfectionist. I thought Carlos was engaging in some salesman's hyperbole when he described Nelson as "an artist." But I was so impressed with the work that once it was done I had to agree. I used a stacked stone veneer that needed corners; as there were no corners available to match the stone I had purchased, Nelson meticulously measured and cut the stone so beautifully that I was glad I had never found corners to match that stone. What Nelson did was far superior to any pre-made corners I had seen. They put me on the schedule for May 10, but when they got a break in their schedule, they moved up my job to May 7 and were finished in 2 days. The bid was very reasonable, and Carlos was super responsive to questions. I will definitely use them again after I've saved up my pennies for the bathroom remodel. read more
