I had a great experience selecting my cocktail. The chef suggested surprise me with a special mix based on 2 fruits I liked OMG it was amazing. Food out of this world taste, presentation, and creativity. If you see the outside, you might feel like not going on, pleasedo abd have an orgasmic food experience on anything you order. Definitely will be back to try more dishes, cocktails, and desserts

This place was actually pretty cute!!!!! The decor was very green with a lot of plants and open space. There was a bar. Service was so friendly and attentive! There was even a taco grill with water flowing from underneath into a small pond. The guy was making fresh tacos to order!!!! This seemed like an upscale restaurant with relatively cheap prices for pesos. Everything converted to dollars was cheaper than what it would be in America. The salsas and homemade chips were delicious. My favorite were the yellow mango, middle spicy chipotle red and far spicy pink. Gun Powder - Homemade smoked salmon with chimole, poblano slides and mango sauce on top pomegranate. This was the prettiest taco that I ordered out of 5 tacos! The salmon was very tender, moist, and flaky when I bit into it. I saw the slightly raw pink of medium rare salmon. The mango sauce was very refreshing! It was a good taco. Malacostra - Chile guerito, Filled with smoked marlin, cheese crust, Serrano and pumpkin seeds cream. This was my FAVORITE taco!!! I would come back To TJ just for this taco. The fish was tender and soft. The perfectly crusted cheese added an element of crunch and salt. The sauces are creamy. The flavor is just all there!!! Pibil - Smoked marlin with Mayan seasoning. To the right... it was a good simple taco compared to the others. Good, but after eating the other tacos, did not WOW me. Chicano - Charbroiled octopus marinated in olive oil, paprika, Mayan seasoning and cactus. This was good! My second favorite taco. There was a generous amount of octopus and it was cooked perfectly so that it was soft. This was just so good. I'm so happy. Tuna Alguita - Mezcal, tuna verde, menta, salvia y sal de alga nori. I asked my waiter for a sweet suggestion and he told me this one. He did not steer me wrong. It was strong but perfectly sweet. I hardly tasted the alcohol and it gave me a good buzz. The salt was necessary to balance the sweet and the sour. Funky. Portobello in a goat cheese with red wine and spinach sauce. I was so happy with the four tacos that I wanted to try a fifth one. This was good too!! The goat cheese was light and creamy. It connected the spinach with the taco well. The mushrooms were perfectly cooked and nicely flavored. Terrario Comestible. Peqeuno ecosistema comestible, sobra una tierra de achiote con pay de queso y hongos bunapi, regados con mermelada de moras y mezcal. We wanted to go out and be high end. We ordered this dessert because we were curious. This is just $5 in US dollars. The fish bowl is very pretty!!!! The mushrooms add an element of mystical and magical. It was served raw. The terrarium tasted like a yummy mushy rice pudding with sorbet. Overall, I really enjoyed this restaurant! I am totally bookmarking this place for another time. I definitely wanna come back in the future for more delicious tacos! The best tacos I have ever had.. was in its motherland! Definitely everything I've ever dreamed of and more! Pros: -close to the border -relatively good/cheap prices when compared to US dollars -food service -cute ambiance -all drinks and tacos are on point -free chips and salsa -clean restrooms Cons: -small parking lot

If you are in Tijuana this place is a must! Gourmet tacos are out of this world. We ordered the Funky, The Italiano and the Malcostra, all were finger licking. Very refreshing Drinks but the dessert was outstanding! Great customer service.

Amazing restaurant our favorite in Tijuana! The food is absolutely delicious and you can tell how passionate the chefs/ owners are about their food. The menu is so different from anything available in San Diego or TJ! We are from SD and we go to TJ just to have dinner or brunch here. If they had this restaurant in SD they would absolutely crush their competition. You have to try it for yourself to know what I'm talking about. From the service to the cocktails to the ceviche, tacos, vegetarian options they don't miss! Highly recommended to all our family and friends!

Their flare for more exotic Mexican food, makes this a nice hidden treasure. It's off of small streets near Blvd Aguascalientes so it's a little hard to find. I always enjoy bringing friends to try different styles of food. If I tell them we're getting tacos, all they're thinking is some tacos cart or hitting up Taco Alley. Tras Horizonte is indulgent eating. Their lamb (borrego) sopes were delicious! The duck (pato) confit was really tasty. Duck is not a common dish in Mexico and few places do it well. The Kraken, Camaron y Los Hongas tacos (seafood, shrimp and mushroom) this time varied in taste. I normally get all 3 but like in many restaurants in Mexico, consistency can be a bit of hit and miss. The Camaron y Hongas were good this time, the Kraken meh. Other times the Kraken has been delicious. So FYI. I would've rated 4.5 stars but Yelp doesn't allow It's a locals restaurant and a hidden gem. Try as many kinds of tacos and finger foods when you visit. I'm sure at least one or two of the dishes will make you say Yum! But I warn you in advance about consistency.

This place was amazing. Great drinks, flavorful and unique food, beautiful aesthetics in design, and great service. This was the best food experience during our entire trip to the Baja. We had 2 desserts and a variety of different types of tacos. I loved all the smoked meats. I will continue to tell everyone that I know who is going to Tijuana to go here. Que increible todo!

I was amazing surprised by this hidden gem... The food is made with a Mexican fusion to die for. One of the dishes I ordered was a Ceviche style dish. (Picture below) it was the perfect blend of citrus, spices. They have very earthly flavors... and have many vegetarian options even though most of their dishes are fish/seafood based. The prices are very reasonable and the customer service is great as well. Will definitely come back to taste the rest of the menu !! Kudos to the ‍ ‍ chef!!

This place is hidden gem. It is not a commercial area it is kind of hidden. The place has a hippie vibe and interesting decor. Now for the food. The cocktail with mezcal are amazing. The food is great too. We ordered various plates and all if them where good. From the tacos to the nachos and hamburger.

It's a great place to be experience Mexican flavours. We ordered guacamole, Rasta, salmon ceviche, kraken, shrimp taco and house beer. Everything was great and delicious.

My husband saw an article in a newspaper about this joint and us being TJ regulars, we made sure to check it out on our next visit. As usual, streets can be confusing but google maps will get you there. It has private parking lot and a food truck that looks like it's part of the restaurant. We got there at 1pm just as they were opening. We only had a coffee on our drive from Anaheim so we were ready to try just about everything on the menu. The place has uniqueness, it's decor is a mix of nature/chick/eco friendly. Great music playing; from the doors, to Morrissey, rock en español- Gustavo Cerati, enanitos verdes... we got to hear it all. Bathrooms were clean, friendly and helpful staff. And my fave part was seeing the chef cook on their unique grill. They had a sample of sauces brought. Carefully placed from mild to hottest and they were definitely tasty however I just realized that the only time I tasted them was in the beginning when they brought them out. The food was so delicious and tasty that no additional sauce was needed. I'm not too much into mixed drinks. But the vibe made me crave one. So I ordered the berry mojito and I ended up drinking 2! Husband started out with a mixed drink and some beer. We each ordered a round (or 2) of different tacos. We got different ones so we can try them all. Also ordered the vegetable molcajete, tuna chowder in the bread bowl (aka so mind blowing!) and an appetizer. Appetizer was stuffed mushrooms- they took a bit to get to us and tasted meh. Everything else was so delicious that we are definitely coming back. My favorite was the mushroom taco and the octopus and the shrimp. Basically all of them. Berry mojitos were delicious and consistent. I Definitely recommend it to anyone who loves tacos alas brazas and seafood! Crunchy and savory.

I did a lot of research on where to eat in Tijuana, and this place popped up quite frequently, and after reading more about this place, I was really excited to eat here, since the food looked incredible. We tried the kraken taco, black harder ceviche tostada, mala costra taco, and the fin del mundo. Despite my high expectations, the food was even better than I expected. They first started us off with complementary tostadas and an array of salsas. The salsas were all flavorful and interesting. Some were extremely spicy and some were sweet and fruity. Of the salsas, my favorites were the black viscous one, the thick spicy green one, and the sweet and spicy creamy pink one. Be careful with the pink and green ones, as they can really set off the burn. The kraken taco (grilled octopus in mexican pesto) was really good. Nothing too spectacular or over the top, but it was a well-executed octopus taco, and the sauce was nice. Get it if you like octopus. The only thing I ate that didn't amaze me was the black harder (sole ceviche marinated in squid ink) tostada. It was pretty good and refreshing, but it didn't taste like anything out of the ordinary. On the contrary, the mala costra (chile guerito stuffed w/ marlin and wrapped in crispy cheese) tostada was absolutely packed with savory flavor. This one seems like a guaranteed hit with most people since it combines tons of savory flavor from the cheese, chile pepper, marlin, and incredible cremas. The cremas on top were actually my favorite part of the dish. One tasted like a chipotle crema and the other was a spicy serrano pepper pumpkin seed crema, which was fantastic. The only small critique I have is that the tostada gets a little lost underneath and easily gets soft, so it's somewhat difficult to eat this dish. Finally, the highlight of the meal for me personally, the fin del mundo was served in a whole skillet containing slabs of grilled panela cheese, crispy chapulines, pepper leaves, black beans, avocado, and what's called a drunk pulque sauce that seemed almost like a bolognese but with a little different flavor (the pulque adds a bright acididity to it). This dish was awesome as it provided a mix of different flavors and textures, and I really enjoyed assembling delicious tacos with the plantain tortillas. The plantain tortillas were a first for me, but they were moist, slightly sweet, and had a pleasant chew. Just fantastic. Overall, I was absolutely blown away by my meal here. The food was delicious and included so many unique and interesting ingredients. And the incredible thing is that the prices are so reasonable for the quality and portions, which are actually much larger than I expected. I definitely will return to try the rest of their menu, not to mention their intriguing drink options.

All he said was, "go to sleep and there might be tacos in your future; just never tell me how to drive". 15 hours later we are on our way to Tijuana and I'm telling him how to drive. Mister wanted to try Tras/Horizonte so bad that I was able to be my anxiety-filled self and cap on him the whole same time. Little did I know how bangin' this place was going to be, walking in I'm thinking this would be a hella expensive place in San Diego. They had the patio and part of the bar area blocked off for a wedding where some really hot and snatched Mexicans came to celebrate. My 1st drink, which our chulo waiter suggested was the Limonada Negra; I swear it changed the way I will treat Mezcal (before was like the ugly step-child of tequila) from now on and it deliciousness and gorgeous . My 2nd "cock-teezy" also suggested by Chulo Waiter was El Chapulin Colorado and also with Mexcal and the tuna (prickly pear) from the cactus and this fabulous little cricket just riding that rim of the glass. Also a gorgeous cocktail and very refreshing, I'm a mezcal fan now!! This day I had the best taco of my life the MalaCostra, smoked marlin, fried cheese, serrano and pumpkin seed puree and some really hot hipster Mexican. It was like a sore dick, you just can't beat it. Next taco on standby was the Gringo en Vacaciones in red adobo red chiles, it was tasty but not as tasty as my new bae, MalaCostra. I will recommend this place to anyone, even my haters. The vibe is on point, the food is fabulous and the dranks will not only get you lit but up your game on instagram.

So impressive!!!! Love their atmosphere and cocktails. Neat, cozy, trendy and delicious !! Also, the sauces given with free chips are amazing. I've gone to quite many mexican restaurants in TJ and was disappointed what they were using it. I can't wait coming back to try their tacos. My wife and I don't speak spanish almost at all, but everyone served us so nicely. I definitely recommend the place even though I didn't have their food yet. We had soo~~ good time on our 7th anniversary.
