One of my favorite spots when I come to TIJUANA. Highly recommended this restaurant. You also get a complementary fro the house delicious bread. Staff is very friendly. Sometimes it get busy but is totally worth it. If it get really but and I can't wait I go to ( Torta plaza also very delicious) parking is easy.

1st time here. It was very delicious! The menu has many options. Prices are reasonable. We where seated fast. Staff was friendly. I will be returning. Keep in mind it's cash only and there might be a wait. But it's worth it

In my trip across the boarder, our taxi driver recommended this restaurant because it was authentic, popular, and located in an outdoor mall where there was other activates we could do afterwards like the movies, shopping, and etc. It was a tiny restaurant with maybe about 10 tables, and there was literally a line of families waiting to get in. Of course, everything was in Spanish and I depended on my husband to just order for me. We ordered combination 3. CONBINATION 3: It came with one of literally everything from a taco, sopa, enchilada, guacamole, beans, chalupa, and some meat dish. It was similar to a sampler plate. It was really fresh. Everything from the meat to even the taco shell was homemade. No wonder there is a line for this tiny place that's in the corner of the shopping mall. LEMONADE: ok you never honestly had lemonade until you tried this. It was literally people in the kitchen squeezing lemons into a pitcher with sugar and water. It was so pure that I just couldn't drink it, but couldn't stop because of how fresh it was. I knew from then on that I had nothing but artificial lemonade, and this is what fresh lemonade should taste like. TIRAMISU: I am not sure if its an American thing, but I always seem to get tiramisu with fake rum soaked into the lady fingers. If it is real rum, then its only a small amount because I don't smell or taste it. When I tried this, you can literally taste the rum. Don't get my wrong, it isn't soo much where you will be drunk, but it is a decent amount where you can taste the zing of the alcohol and the smell isn't overwhelming. It was so good that I took another slice home. PASTEL DE QUESO CON GUAYABA: Ok I am not 100% sure what this honestly is. BUT I will say that it was a mix of cheesecake and pudding. It was light sweet and really really creamy. It had a layer of sugar sauce all over it like a flan, and it was just a light dessert even thought it was so creamy. All in all, there was nothing really bad to say about this place except the service. Once we ordered and got our food, we never saw a waitress again. We had to actually get up and find someone so we can get more drinks or even get the bill. Besides the horrible service, everything else was good. I am not sure If we will come back because there are so many other places to try but from other customers said was that this is the place you want to try if you are crossing the boarder.

Every time I visit TJ, I stop here for breakfast! Great tasty food, great service and great prices, you might need to wait to get in because it gets packed but worth the wait! I feel for the waitresses, they wear that out dated uniform, they look so uncomfortable. They look like they are wearing a tablecloth. :/ ***Por favor cambien el uniforme de sus empleados, meseras, se ven muy incómodos y ya estás pasados de moda. Sería mejor para ellos un pantalón negro con camisa de polo.

We crossed the border for a day trip in Tijuana. Glad to have discovered this place. There was a line when we went there for lunch. We waited for about 45mins in line. IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT. Our server helped us as much as we can with our food choices even with our very, very limited Spanish. The food was superb. The portions are big. And it was decent price too! If we are ever back in town, would love to dine here again.

Found this place, thanks to Yelp…read more We crossed over to droop off my parents and wanted a place that served food but that we could sit down and talk. We had a 15 minute wait before we were sat at our table. As soon as we sat down, we had coffee cups ready and regular coffee or Cafe de olla ready to be served. Our Server was amazing. He made sure we were comfortable, and asked if we had any questions on the menu. We ordered the queso fundido to start, chilaquiles and tamales everything was great! I can't wait to go back and try the lunch/dinner menu. The place was very busy but the place was filled with good vibes and great energy.

I had someone call from our hotel and we got right in and there was a line outside. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is all great. Their breakfast goes from American eggs and bacon with the best potatoes to wonderful burrito type breakfast items. Their menudo is great and they have great Mexican meats as well. Lunch and dinner is about the same. They make Mexican style fish and steak that is just perfect every time. All of their Mexican dishes are just wonderful. You can't go wrong. They even have bottled water--never drink the water there, just don't. They have the best rice and beans. The service is great. They make you feel right at home and even if you don't speak Spanish, most speak English and you will figure it out because they will help you. The prices are fair for what you get. At dinner I consider it fine dining. It is all good and you will be happy. The place is also clean and super comfortable.

The Zona Rio location has a small dining area, that is very popular with both the locals and visitors. It is easy to see why. Their menu does not over dose on the standard morning and afternoon items that you would find anyplace. However, this is the first restaurant I've been to in Tijuana, that does not have an English menu.... so I had to labor through the Spanish menu. But, they do have unique dishes, thus making the visit adventurous, because it is difficult to choose. I went back and forth, and finally settled for their 3-egg omelet with asparagus and sheep cheese. It came with refried beans, strings of carrots and beets, small fired up tostadas and fresh tortillas (both blue and yellow corn). A small side of soggy chilaquiles was also served. A small flavorful salsa tray is also provided with 3 options, ranging from mild to hot. The asparagus spears were thin, cut up into small pieces and sautéed with mild spices. The outer egg covering soft and not overdone. If anything, there was too much sheep cheese, in certain portions of the omelet. I say this because it was an asparagus omelet, and it, instead of the cheese, should have been the star. Still, it did not take away from the other commendable aspects of the complete entree and its accompaniments. Before the meal, a small refreshing fruit plate is served. Coffee and overall service here, was mucho excellente.

They have their own designated parking, which is nice, as sometimes parking may be an issue in town. The parking attendant welcomes you and lets you know where to park. You are immediately greeted when you walk in. I typically visit for a late lunch. The restaurant has a cozy feel. The staff are attentive and friendly. The presentation of the food is nice and it tastes good. Some of the dishes that I have tried are: Tarahumara (portobello omelet), Xitomatl (entomatadas), Huichol (chilaquiles con cecina), Mulli (mole Oaxaqueño), Teotihuacán (chilaquiles con chorizo y huevo), and Coyoltzin (puntas de filete). My favorite has been the Coyoltzin because the meat is tender and juicy. I also love that they bring salsas to the table. I like the chiles with oil and vinegar that they make. Overall, a great place to have breakfast or lunch with friends and family.
