Amazing atmosphere, food, and service. I had the Los Molcajetes Infante, which is a soup served in a hot-stone bowl with chicken, sausage, queso, and other meats. We also had Pastor Taco, various types of tacos, and this hot skillet plate with shrimp and mushrooms. We also had one of the Combination Snack - its not a snack!! It's a huge portion of 5 items! Regardless, everything was amazing! For dessert, I had the El Churro. OMG, its served with this caramel dipping sauce and a Mezcal whipped cream. Amazing! Nice restaurant with good food options. Mix of Mexican and some American food like steak and shrimp. We got the pastor and shrimp taco and skirt steak. The pastor was a bit simple but it comes with cilantro onions and mild sauce sides so adding that helped a lot. Shrimp tacos were good, skirt steak was really good with lots of flavor but a bit more on the spicy side. This is our favorite. We keep considering other places but keep coming back to Los Remedios. They stay open late. Often 2 for 1 drinks. The molcajete is the best I've found anywhere. The Las Parrilladas is too (both pictured). Great service. They have gringo menus if you need them. Usually have a spicier habanero salsa they'll bring if you ask. It's very loud so if you want a quiet place with some drizzle on an oversized plate with a little food in the middle keep on truckin'! Another stop on our UYE Tijuana adventure. We're still on our feet and we haven't lost anyone in the group. This gigante cantina located near the roundabout featuring a statue resembling Abraham Lincoln (sans stovepipe hat) is an impressive hall space to accommodate our large party. The acoustics lends well to this evening's eight-person mariachi making the rounds. Guitars, trumpets, and violins. Oh my! The ensemble put on a strong performance that would make any aficionado swoon. At about US $10/song, each musician earns a buck plus a modest gratuity. The long cantina bar that stretches along the wall displays the largest collection of tequila bottles I've seen. I'm sure other places might have an impressive roster, but this grand display is certainly noticeable. Just ask the bartender if you fancy an alternative liquor or if tequila is your nemesis. I stuck to my plan of bottled beers and light snacking. Service was friendly and attentive. A waiter seemed to be on the spot to offer another cold beer on time; ready to pop another bottle cap when you gave the ok. The cheerful hostess helped us out with getting taxis since the next stop was much more than several blocks away. Come by Los Remedios to enjoy some food, drink, and entertainment. Look, I used to adore this place. I've probably spent over 2k alone over the years frequently going to this establishment. I've taken my friends and family here and they in turn they brought their friends and family to Los Remedios. My gripe is that I went last Saturday and was with a party of 4. We asked for our check and it came out to a little under 90 dollars. I remember because I showed the bill to my brother and his girlfriend because they offered to pay but I insisted. I always leave a cash tip because the service is great so I tipped at least 30 dollars. I check my bank statement today and I was charged $115. That's shady AF. What an f-ing shame. Went recently with a large ~25person MeetUp.Com group for lunch, we were only customers in the place yet it took very very long for them to take alcohol orders, beers took over 40mins to come, only two food menus the entire long table, after all ordered it took about 1hr+ for entrees to come. Best guacamole!!!!! Queso fundido was tasty as well but the claim to fame to La Cantina de los Remedios were the bitchen (yes I said bitchen) margaritas and the best mariachi band I have ever heard. Ambiance is cantina like and there is an outdoor patio where I hung out for a bit to watch the breast cancer event happening right outside. It was a sea of people in pink all dancing thier bootays off for the cause of boobie health. Very entertaining and energentic. I love this little neighborhood and when we visited they were having a Breast Cancer rally with hundreds of Zumba dancers wearing pink. It was so cute watching all these adults and kids dancing for a great cause. Since I pretty much only had cocktails and chips and salsa and can't really tell you about the food but I loved the decor so much. It's just a beautiful place to look at from the tiles on the floor to the chandeliers on the ceiling. They have so many old school Mexican Movie stars on their walls and my mouth must of been open taking it all in. 1st time eating in Mexico! They bring out chips, salsa, and this rectangle of cheese when you sit down. It's very delicious and the salsa has the perfect amount of heat. We had the choriqueso, which is a melted oaxaca cheese with aged chorizo. This was amazing, would definitely get it again. It comes with fresh hot tortillas and you just scoop the cheese and chorizo in and munch down. The guac with chicharrones was decent. I'm not a big fan of chicharrones but the texture was great. It's just a bit too greasy for me. The guac was well made and grinded inside the volcanic rock bowl. As for the lunch entree, I had the molcajete with la sierra y la mar, which is surf and turf. It's basically a big volcanic rock bowl, super heated with salsa soup, cactus, green onions, the rectangle white cheese, jumbo shrimps and skirt steak. It comes with unlimited tortilla to make tacos or use to dip into the salsa. It is super filling. At the end of the meal, we all waddled back to the car and began the long process of going back into the US. read more
